Removing sand

A bivalve that lives in the deep seas off the east coast of North America.

It is similar to a Japanese Clam, but its shell is uneven and streaked.

In Japan, it is called Honbinosu Clam and is likened to Venus.

Shellfish are often compared to female genitalia, so that is why it is called that.

It entered Japan mixed with ship ballast and began to live in Tokyo Bay.

It is an excellent edible shellfish, so Japanese people also eat it.

I made it "sake steamed" today.

Sake steamed hard clam (cooking)

finished

1) Remove sand in salt water with seawater concentration (35g/l) for a day and night

2) Put sesame oil, garlic, and salt in a pot, heat it, and add the clams.

3) Add 50ml each of water and sake

4) Cover and heat for 3-4 minutes

5) Add cloves

6) Place on a plate and top with chopped green onions

@Use the remaining soup to make spaghetti soup.

そんな呼び名だ。

日本には船のバラストに混じって入ってきて

東京湾に生息するようになった。

優秀な食貝なので日本人も食べる。

私は今日「酒蒸し」にした。

Hard Clamの酒蒸し（料理）

一昼夜　海水の濃度の塩水で砂抜き（３５ｇ/ｌ）

鍋にごま油、ニンニク、塩を入れ、火に掛け、貝を投入。

水、酒を各５０ｍｌ加える

蓋をして、３－４分加熱

クローブを入れる

皿に盛り、刻んだネギを掛ける

＠残ったスープは、スープ・スパゲティにする。

We know what bivalves are by now, right? A soft squishy creature that filter feeds in one spot its whole life (if it were up to the bivalve), protecting itself by growing two shells that are controlled by a muscle working a hinge in the back. It's a simple design. Sometimes, if you're lucky, these animals also produce some of the most beautiful biologically-made materials in the world. So, let's get into it.

Hard Clam

The Hard Clam (Mercenaria mercenaria), also called the Northern Quahog, is friend from my neck of the oceans. Native to the Northeastern shores of North America, this guy has been a staple part of the human diet in this area for centuries - it is the clam in clam chowder here. But the Hard Clam also meant something more to the native populations of this area - inside the hard clam's shell, it grows this beautiful violet pigment. The native tribes called it "wampum" and made beautiful beads out of them. Finding a clam shell with wampum that was thick enough to make these beads was rare, and so very valuable, even to the Europeans that eventually settled here.

Grand Oyster

It pisses me off how long it took me to find out what this was supposed to be (there is no "grand oyster") and then ACPC just did a terrible job adapting it tbh. For all intent and purposes, the icon looks like a clam (granted, our common bivalve names don't really align with specific families or anything, by I digress). Luckily, I found out it is called "shirocho" in the Japanese version, so all I had to do was work backwards and find out what shirocho's English or at least its scientific name, was. But all I kept coming up with were shirocho pearls, which, I expected. Long story short, this is the Silver- or Gold-lipped Oyster (Pinctada maxima), an absolutely massive oyster whose shell can be up to a foot (0.3 m) in diameter. This giant oyster not only makes giant pearls, but it also makes its pearls in silver or gold, called South Sea Pearls. A fine quality South Sea Pearl in gold is worth about as much as I paid for my house. Needless to say, these guys are farmed for pearls. More wholesomely, their pearls are the national gems of The Philippines where it is native and the oyster itself appears on the country's 1,000-peso bill.

And there you have it. Gorgeous, aren't they?

I think rye is mostly vegetarian-adjacent when he gets to pick meals for himself (not particularly out of ideological reasons or anything, he just prefers nevarran style cooking and doesn't care for the taste of most meat -- he's a picky eater who will force his way through food he doesn't like if absolutely necessary. but no one is paying him to be happy about it lol he is being quietly bitchy about it in the privacy of his own soul. he might be the most relieved person on the team when bellara and lucanis stage their very polite and earnest kitchen coup.)

what is your muses ideal date ? — miriam

Miriam's ideal date is a bit rough to explain because she wants a date that displays her partner knows her tastes and thinks about what she likes while also incorporating their own interests and likes into that; That is to say so long as obvious thought has gone into the date then it'll be her ideal, she wants a relationship that's truly a 50/50 built on mutual respect and understanding and if that's shown in her day to day life with said partner, including on dates, then she's more than pleased with that. I.e if her partner enjoys music of a similar genre to her she'd be thrilled to go to a concert and have dinner with them or go someplace where they're able to play together if her partner is an instrumentalist as well. If her partner enjoys mechanical sorts of things or biking then she'd love to have a day where they work on their own projects together or go to a car/bike show since she herself is a motorcycle enthusiast who maintains the maintenance of hers on her own.

Essentially she just wants a date that reflects both herself and whoever she's with; Hopefully that makes sense because it's hard to explain even with examples I fear.

Now that Greta's update has finally been posted (give or take future tweaks because I literally could not focus on the Church scenes to save my life), I hope it was worth the wait. It wasn't all that plot heavy but you did gain a new friend -- well, sort of depending on a certain choice you made.

I haven't gotten any bug reports so I'm taking that as a good sign!! Did we finally get an update that didn't break anything?!

Now then, on to chapter two which will converge then separate based on your routes on Chapter One. Also working on tweaking the prologue but that will be posted at a later time and be worked on slowly. I hope you all enjoyed that small update!! Thank you for your patience and I apologize if it wasn't amazingly fun like Hollond and Galeon's route!!
