#day31happydiabeticdays is a bit late for the #happydiabeticdays challenge but I'll do two today to catch up. Yesterday made me super grateful for confidence. I used to hide away all my diabetic gear afraid people would see it and get weirded out... But now I enjoy showing it loud and proud for the reasons that made me so full of warm fuzzies yesterday. A woman saw my pump and asked if I was type one before explaining that her nephew was diagnosed a few years ago. She had overcome her fear of needles just to stay involved in the boys life and he had just been upgraded to a new pump too... And we had a good discussion about the Libre and the benefits it could bring the boy if they could afford it/if they could get involved with a cgm... It's not about me being obnoxious and wanting attention. Joining late onto the wonderful #happydiabeticdays days challenge and starting with #day29happydiabeticdays - celebrating the improvement of my levels in just one week. A daily average from 11.6 (209 mgdl) down to 8.1 (145 mgdl).
