What is this?

To inspire people's creativity we will be hosting a month long prompt event once a quarter. Each week a prompt will be posted and creatives can use it for inspiration for fics, gifs, artwork - anything you'd like to make!

Please make sure you tag @hotd-bigbang and use the tag "hotd autumn prompts 23" to ensure we can find your creations and reblog them.

You don't have to participate every week - choose as many as you'd like, and there's no hard deadline - i.e. if by September 8th, you've not created anything for September 1st's prompt, you can still create for that prompt if you'd like to. However, we will be making a round-up post on October 15th for all creations, so if you miss this date then your work will not make it onto the list.

Happy (belated) anniversary to Lilo & Stitch: The Series and Stitch!

Yes, I know that the twentieth anniversary of the premiere of Lilo & Stitch: The Series (on ABC Kids) was on September 20th. I was sick back then, though. So, I'm celebrating it today on the anniversary of its Disney Channel premiere instead.

Lilo & Stitch: The Series continued our beloved titular human-alien duo's adventures on their home island of Kaua'i after the first film and the show's pilot film Stitch! The Movie. Throughout the course of 65 episodes over two seasons that aired within almost three years (September 2003 to June/July 2006), they went around the island (and occasionally elsewhere) to find, capture, and rehabilitate Jumba's other genetic experiments by giving them a place where they truly belonged. They also dealt with the ex-Captain Gantu, now working for Jumba's ex-partner Dr. Jacques von Hämsterviel, as they hunted down the experiments.

While Lilo & Stitch creator Chris Sanders, who reprised his voice role as Stitch in the show (as did almost all of the original film's voice cast reprising their roles), never really intended for his film to go anywhere beyond the one film he made, Lilo & Stitch: The Series has left a lasting impact with Lilo & Stitch fans everywhere that can still be seen to this day. Dr. Hämsterviel and his Python-esque Frenchman-sounding voice became recognizable while giving the franchise a proper villain. Gantu was fleshed out more as a character instead of just being a brute enforcer for someone else, especially through his interactions with the memorably lazy, wisecracking, sandwich-loving, reluctant sidekick Experiment 625, who we know today as Reuben. The second season did crossovers with other Disney properties before it was cool, with the casts of Kim Possible, American Dragon: Jake Long, The Proud Family, and Recess each joining our duo's 'ohana for an episode. Then there are the genetic experiments themselves, with their fun designs and wide and sometimes wacky abilities making a lasting impression on those who enjoyed seeing Stitch and his mischief while expanding on the (admittedly crazy and inconsistent) lore of Lilo & Stitch's universe. One of them, X-619/Splodyhead, even made a cameo in a Walt Disney Animation Studios film in Big Hero 6, while another, X-221/Sparky, who debuted in Stitch! The Movie, became a boss in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. And we can't talk about experiments without mentioning X-624/Angel, Stitch's love interest and mate who became so popular in her own right that she now gets a regular influx of merchandise and has made several video game appearances, including most recently in Disney Speedstorm.

Not to be forgotten, the Stitch! anime series also recently celebrated its fifteenth anniversary of its premiere back on October 8th. The first spin-off made after the original Western continuity, Stitch! had the little blue alien crash-land on a small fictional island in the Ryukyu Islands called Izayoi, where he meets and befriends the tomboyish Yuna. During the first two seasons, which were animated by Madhouse, Yuna and Stitch go on their own adventures around the island, befriending yokai who live in the island's Chitama Forest, and dealing with Hämsterviel, Gantu, and Reuben again. Some of the experiments even return in this show, especially Angel, who became an intergalactic pop star in the (in-universe) years since we first met her on Kaua'i. The main plot of these two seasons is about Stitch getting enough good deeds to have the magical Chitama Spiritual Stone grant him a wish, which was apparently to become "ruler of the universe". However, by the end, he decides that living with Yuna is better. After Madhouse's 56 episodes (which includes two post-season specials), Shin-Ei Animation took over for the third season, retooling it by having Yuna and Stitch move to a fictional Okinawan city called New Town, going on wackier adventures there with her new classmates, while Hämsterviel now goes after Stitch on behalf of a big-eared humanoid alien woman named Delia to gain a power cell within him, using several experiments that he "transmutated" to do his dirty work. The 30-episode (again, including another post-season special) season also had Stitch reuniting with Lilo, now all grown up with a daughter of her own, for one episode. The main series of three seasons ran from 2008 to 2011; they were followed by two more specials, Stitch and the Planet of Sand in 2012 and Stitch! Perfect Memory (or Stitch! A Perfect Memory) in 2015.

Infamously, the English dub of the anime established itself as a post-Lilo continuation from the get-go with probably the worst-chosen opening lines to any sequel show ever, when Jumba claimed (later proven false by Lilo's aforementioned third-season appearance) that Stitch left her because Lilo became more interested in a boyfriend over him; such lines, which weren't in the Japanese original, caused many fans to swear off the anime series as "not 'ohana". However, as the years passed since Stitch! ended, the anime faded to relative obscurity, which in turn caused much of the hate it received to die down. In more recent years, it's now garnered some appreciation in its own right after years of ridicule and vitriol, with those such as Saberspark enjoying the show for what it is and making videos about their more positive thoughts on it.

September is here and I know this post is late, but I had to take a slight social media detox! I swear once September hits I am all Fall, y’all!! I’m about all things apple, pumpkin, fall leaves, sunflowers, soup, etc! Did you know that apples (and apple trees) are associated with love, health, divination, rebirth and renewal, life, learning, and so many other things? The original bobbing for apples game was a form of slight divination, even! It was said that marriage would come to the first person to bite into the apple while bobbing. Also, if you cut into an apple, you’ll find a pentacle type star!

Correspondences of September are sapphire and sardonyx for crystals, the bear and owl for animals, flowers are morning glory and aster, and the zodiac sign is Virgo.

Let’s talk about some days in September:

Not only is Labor Day the 2nd, but also the Celtic Tree Month of Vine begins…happiness and wrath are both symbolized with the vine, garden magic, magic for joy and happiness but also wrath, rage, anger.

Magical influences for this are empowerment, inner growth, introspection, and prophecy.

Sept 4th is bring your manners to work day (I liked this one, cause I’m constantly reminding myself to have manners in moments where people are pissing me off lol.)

Sept 7th national salami day and world beard day (I liked these two because we used to call our younger sister “salami” to piss her off when we were all younger and we still sort of joke about it to this day… and my boyfriend has a beard that I just love. I love feeling it, smelling it, looking at it…lol!)

Sept 8th grandparents day

9/11… a tragic day that affected so many lives in one way or another! On this day remember all those who lost their lives due to this tragic event and the war it caused!

Friday the 13th

Sept 22 is Mabon, also known as the autumn (or Fall) equinox – this is a time where night and day or light and dark are balanced. This is a sort of mid-harvest festival, we are celebrating the second of 3 harvest festivals. I’ve read that there is a slight connection to Mabon for how Oktoberfest was created, by the Bavarians. They start celebrating this in the last week of September.

Celebrate Mabon and give thanks to the Earth for abundant crops, practice gratitude, give blessings, share with the less fortunate. When canning, infuse your recipes with magickal influences and charm your jars.

Mabon is also one of those “liminal times” or an in-between time. These are powerful times for spell-work, rituals, and magick in general.

Colors for Mabon are blue, brown, gold, maroon, orange, violet, and yellow

Plants, herbs, etc: aster, marigolds, sage, ivy, grape, fern, blackberry/bramble, chrysanthemum, grains, thistle, and trees are cedar, hazel, aspen, maple, oak, myrtle, and locust

Ways you can celebrate Mabon:

Host a harvest dinner and include apples, squash, corn, grains, root vegetables like carrots potatoes and onions, grapes and wine, nuts, pomegranates, mead, spiced teas.

Make a hearty stew with fresh baked bread, apple pie, mashed squash, mulled wine

Make a cornucopia, go to a pumpkin patch and farmer’s market, go for a fall nature walk, donate food, focus on balance in your life, write a gratitude list, decorate your altar for Mabon with apples, candles that are brown, orange, and gold, marigold and sunflowers, leaves, acorns, grape vines, a deity statue. Celebrate by giving thanks for the abundance and good in your life, and meditate on the things on the things from this past year you'd like to let go of!

Sept 30th Celtic tree month of Ivy begins which symbolizes life, death, and rebirth, spell work during this time would be great for self-work, healing, banishing toxicity, protection, binding spells

Magical influences during this time: decisions and introspection, growth, learning, developing skills.

September in general is a good time to work on magick and intentions for the home.

I feel like 2 of the biggest intentions you can work on in September however, are balance and change, so I’m going to share a spell for this month that I created!

Things you’re going to need: leaves, something to write with, sage, basil, apple, orange candle, oil, sunflowers.

Dress your orange (for balance and change) candle with oil of your choosing and sage for a clear mind, basil for opening yourself to receive messages, and sunflowers for overcoming obstacles.

Core your apple (for peace, rebirth and renewal, self-work) and place your candle inside. You’re basically using this apple as your candle holder!

Light your candle and meditate on the areas in your life that need balance and/or change. When you are done, write your setbacks and obstacles that you want to overcome (to make these changes and bring this balance) onto the leaves. Hold the leaves into your hands and let the wind take them away!

I can't even begin to explain how grateful I am for all of my followers. From those that joined me at the beginning, to those that are just joining, and everyone in between, thank you for being here. Thank you for reading, encouraging, and supporting what I do here. Without you guys I would have left some time ago.

Tumblr is and will probably always be a hellsite that hardly ever works in my favor, but I try as much as I can to keep a positive attitude even though there have been several moments of wanting to throw in the towel. But I learned that it was okay to post and write at my own pace without stressing myself over it. So thank you for being understanding of that as well. 

But enough of that! Let’s get to the real reason that this celebration is happening.

This Blog Turns 4 on September 29th!

The first thing I ever posted here on tumblr was a two part fic helping me to work through grieving the loss of a family member (It’s cringe beyond belief and it’s why its not on the masterlist) and found my flow with writing angst. 

The pain I felt in my day to day was transferred into my writing and became as easy as breathing. The Emotional Torture Kink Club was made in the process. I’ve been given the nicknames Queen/Goddess of Angst. I’ve been ‘hated’, cursed and screamed at for the pain that I’ve caused with my writing and I don’t regret it for one second. 

So here we are starting the next year of this journey and I couldn’t think of any other way to celebrate this trip around the sun. So prepare to be hurt, prepare yourself with tissues, and brace yourself for some of the emotional torment that you may experience during this celebration. 

Starting September 25th up until October 8th you will be able to send in prompts for Drabbles and One shots, as well as send in some asks that are anything and everything that have to do with Angst. This is a Davidic psalm celebrating the grandeur and significance of Jerusalem and its temple. It is ironic that Jerusalem means “city of peace” since more battles have been fought over it than over any other city.

I was so happy when my fellow pilgrims said,

“Let’s go to the house of the Eternal!”

We have made the journey, and now we are standing

within your gates, O Jerusalem.

Jerusalem! What a magnificent city!

Buildings so close together, so compact.

God’s people belong here. Every tribe of the Eternal

makes its way to Jerusalem—

Just as God decreed for Israel

to come together and give thanks to the Eternal.

In Jerusalem, justice is the order of the day because there sit the judges

and kings, the descendants of David.

Ask heaven to grant peace to Jerusalem:

“May those who love you prosper.

O Jerusalem, may His peace fill this entire city!

May this citadel be quiet and at ease!”

It’s because of people—my family, friends, and acquaintances—

that I say, “May peace permeate you.”

Welcome to the RNM Create Week 2022 - from September 5th to September 11th

Once again, we’re back to celebrate the wonderful creators in this fandom! 

This fandom has gifted us with talented and creative people who share with us their creation, and time has come to give back to them the love they pour on every creation. We are immensely lucky to have them all, let’s show them our appreciation for their work this year. Given that we're running towards the final season's finale, let's bask in the wonderful creations we have loved, and keep loving, this year.

Day 2: September 6th, 2022

Character: every character in the show have their own depth and development. We would love to know which creations focusing on a particular character are your favorites. Let us know why they are masterpieces!

Day 3: September 7th, 2022

Angst: some creators are truly experts in the art of ripping our hearts out with their angsty works, whether they have a happy ending or not. Share with us those works that are meant to break us! 

Day 4: September 8th, 2022

Alternate Universe (AU): even though we all love canon, we also enjoy our characters and ships in different universes. Share with us those creations that take the characters out of the world we all know and make them live a different life!

Day 5: September 9th, 2022

Dynamics: family, friendship or romantic, a good dynamic is something to be cherished. Let’s share those creations that focus on a relationship you enjoy, canon or not!

Day 6: September 10th, 2022

Fluff: there’s also space in fandom for tooth-rotting fluff, for those works that paint a smile on our faces and lift our spirits. Today’s the day to share with us all the works you love that focus on fluff so sweet that your face hurts from all that smiling!

Cheerleaders: for six days, creators have been reveling in all the love, so now it’s the moment to give some of that love back. Tell us about those people who have helped you through your creative process, whether it’s your beta or that particular person who’s reblogged everything you’ve posted or commented on everything you’ve shared, or that person who’s been holding your hand all the time while you worked hard on your creation. My Own Yearend Art Picks of 2021 🖌

Hello to my good followers and to my good closest friends! It's finally here after few days ago during 🎅🎄December 31st, 2021 when posting the celebration artwork for Happy New Year's Eve with my Animal OCs, but then yesterday it's January 1st of 2022 at last! However while I'll get those upcoming plans to share something soon, I do have other things that I'm suppose to cover it up first; included one of my P-Pal's past posts in responds with my characters. (Don't worry about that. ^^*)

Nevertheless, just wanted to bring you guys to my own Yearend picks of 2021 post to share that I thankfully got it from yesterday while getting started at New Year's Day run so far. Even though, I'm still at be online that I would consider doing else like exercise.

Anyways, here's to my picks via art posts I've gotten from last year generation and this time included one of my secret art trade post that I always share with my P-Pal as of friendship moment. Although I wish to include one of my tech/item stuff such as my complete YCCTEAM Controller review and the reveal of my Cystereo Fusion Glare Authentic Hi-Fi Wireless Earbuds. As far I gotten some tech stuff though, I only have few of them. Still I have other stuff that are waiting to be reveal soon; so hoping it will happen during this year and maybe I could add to it during my next picks list.

Top 5 favorite holidays!

YES JOEY THIS IS AN ASK HEHEHE. We have 14 days of public holidays but omg, I don't think I even celebrate five holidays because I'm a frontliner and shift work doesn't work that way 🌚 also, please don't come at me if some of these are not holidays 🤣

1 - Chinese New Year/Lunar New Year

I mean, what else??? What better public holiday than this?? I get to collect red packets, I get to eat all the delicious and yummy new year goodies, and we have two days off work/school.

2 - Christmas

I don't celebrate Christmas but I do enjoy the festive season and the joy of gifting. Also, there's lots of year-end offers and sales so YAY SHOPPING. Most importantly, it's Levi's birthday 🥰

3 - Mid Autumn Festival

So for those who don't know what's Mid Autumn Festival, it falls on the 15th day of the 8th Lunar month (usually in mid September in the gregorian calendar). It's the day where the moon is the brightest and fullest, which coincides with the harvest time in mid autumn. The fullness of the moon also signifies family reunion, and it's the second biggest holiday after Chinese New Year.

On this day, we eat mooncakes, drink tea, and moon view (basically we just sit around a table and look at the moon while we chit chat). Moon viewing is also significant because it is based off the Chinese mythology of Chang'e, the Moon Goddess.

4 - Hinamatsuri ひな祭り

Also known as Girls' Day, it's celebrated in Japan to celebrate the growth and happiness of young girls, and it also coincides with my birthday!! On this day girls would display their Hina dolls and omg, it's so so pretty. One of my wish is to celebrate Hinamatsuri in Japan one day.

5 - Hungry Ghost Festival

So. HUNGRY GHOST FESTIVAL. It's also known as Zhongyuan Jie and it falls on the 15th day of the 7th Lunar month (around August in the gregorian calendar). So on this day, the Gates of Hell would be open for a month, and the souls of your ancestors, ghosts, and spirits would be allowed to roam around the world of the living.

We have festivals like Qingming (Tomb Sweeping Day) to pray for the deceased relatives too, but during Hungry Ghost month, it is the only time of the year where the souls of the departed are allowed to roam around the world of the living. It's a little similar to Dia de los Muertos, but without without celebrations and colours haha.
