family based events makes me want to curl up and die I'm gonna dissociate through this week and the next for the sake of my sanity
#personal#im already having a shitty month bc of eid#people always look so happy when they celebrate eid. i feel like its the most excruciating time of the fucking year#maybe its bc they have better families#i wish it wasnt so difficult every single time#like every year they wanna overhaul the whole fucking house to impress the guests and relatives#which eats up a lot of money and energy to redecorate everything#you dont need to do that???? just clean things up! you dont HAVE to buy more carpets we dont fucking NEED!!!! OR PLATES OR WHATEVER#and then they push me to do the heavy lifting and power washing and i cant do that anymore bc of my bad back#its always like this every year#when i tell them its okay not to go over the top with decorating every time i get brushed off to the side#like i remember that i grew up with my parents with a middle class income and i dont remember buying curtains every single year#or buying new sofas#its so excessive and for what#eid is supposed to be a celebration to those who successfully fast through ramadan not play who has the flashiest house in the neighborhood#maybe im just weird and out of touch with reality but i hate this way of living#who are you trying to impress??? why do you need to get people who visit once a year's opinion on things??#maybe stop shit talking about peoples houses for starters#vent#rant#sorry its long i just hate this time of the year
