J: So, we're watching chef Kaoru work..ah, "Can't see for the flag", ah, we moved the flag, now you can watch Leader cooking in all his glory.

T: Ok, now put the powder in this bowl.

J: Oh, the measuring thing is called a 計量器(*keiryōki - measuring device). I really don't know anything. And next, we put water in. When do we put the egg in? Not yet?

T: Ok, Joe, a quiz for you? When does the egg go in?

J: Ehh?! Well, now right? On top of the flour...and then the water?

T: Haha, yeah.

K: Well, we can put water in first.

J: Oh really?

K: Yeah, if we're mixing it all up together anyway, it doesn't matter which goes first.

J: Of course, yes.

K: Haha. Water in.

T: I'll pour it in one go.

J: "Cooking Kaoru is so precious"

K: Now the egg. *cracks it with one hand*

J: Ahh, one of these days Takumi needs to open his own store.

K: About 3 I think.

J: 3? Did you wear all of them?

K: Yeah. My suitcase was full too.

J: Well, cause its winter, right?

K: Yeah, you wanna take stuff just in case.

J: Ok, so 3 outfits.

T: Alright, next from Momoka san, "Its my first message"..Thank you.." Happy Birthday Kaoru. Im a third year elementary school girl.

J, K: Ohhh!

T: "My mum has taken me to your lives 4 times, and I became a fan of you! I will keep supporting you, so please keep doing what you're doing!

K: Thank you.

T: We should say Momika chan, right?

J: How do you feel getting support from a little kid?

T: Ok, we'll read some more fan messages in the second half. We got all these *holds up paper* Thank you so much everyone!

J: Well, now, we are getting close to..

K: The end??

J: No, we've just started, you havn't even cooked them yet! I mean, the first half of the show is nearly over. We've finshed making the batter, but before we cook it, we are gonna have a bit of fun. Cause its a party, yeh? We have some fun stuff prepared. Its this..tadaa!....oh, nothing happened. Nothing happened when I said tadaa. Oh, I should just show this? Oh, I'm sorry, shall we try that again? haha. We have some fun stuff prepared for the takoyaki party.

K: I'll just keep mixing this batter.

J: Yes, you do that, its just about finished, right Kaoru? So, we are gonna do something fun before we cook it.

T: What is it??

J: Its this...tadaa! *shows card with maid aprons on it* Cameraman, zoom in. So that we don't get food or cooking smell on our clothes, we have prepared various aprons. So, next we will do a lucky draw to see who has to wear which apron. No matter which one you get, its kinda tough, right? Number 1 is wakazuma/young wife style, as is number 2. Next, number 3 is okami-san/landlady style, then we have maid version 1, and maid version 2.

T: Kaoru is gonna wear one of these, right?

K: No, all three of us are.

J: Yeah, all three.

T: All three?! Aghh.

J: Well, we wore pretty silly costumes for Halloween, didn't we? So..

T: Well, yeh.

J: Someone asked, "Is the management ok with this?"

T: Yeah, they said they are.

K: They are not here at the moment, are they?

J: Yeah, there's no one here.

T: We'll do it while they're not here.

J: I wonder if the viewers have any preferences about which ones they want us to wear? I mean, we aren't gonna decide like this, we'll do a lucky draw, but... what do you guys wanna see? Oh, Kaoru as a maid, or a young wife? Yeah. Its like the management ran away..."Cook's apron"...."naked with an apron"?? No, we are not gonna go naked with aprons. haha. "Young wife, young wife" "the frilly one" "maid"..ah, opinion is quite divided isn't it?

T: Yeh.

J: Is there any one which you want to wear, Leader? There must be, right? As for me, I would say what I don't want.

K: Hm, any of them is fine.

J: Any? Ohh. Ok, well, lets do the lucky draw. There is one card for each number in the box, we just gotta decide who draws first. So, lets do rock paper scissors, and whoever wins, picks first.

J: Ok, Leader, you lead.

*They play, Tasai wins*

T: Ok, I'll go first.

K: Lets pick them out first, and reveal all at the same time.

J: Oh, yeh. Im trying to figure out which is the worst...maybe the maid. We're definitely gonna get one of these each though.

K: Well, only three.

J: There's young wife - one and two, landlady, and maid - one and two. Ok, lets reveal to the camera all together. Readddy...go! Ahh, what did Leader get? Show us.

T: Maid 1

J: Ahh, Leader got Maid 1. Tasai got..Young wife 2. I got Maid 2. This is gonna look like something straight outta hell.

K, T: Hahaha

J: This is like the worst combination, right? Two maids, and a young wife.

K: Yeah, its pretty cringey.

T: Is this???? I'm gonna wear this.

J: *sings* 'Higashi no wakazamakaze'. You need a cushion too. So, whoever wants to see this hellish image of us, and Kaoru wearing aprons, we'll be doing this in the second half. Also, I'll tell you how you can do this. I know you probably already know, because we've done this a few times already, but..Anyone can watch the first half of this show for free, but the second half is for subscribers only, so if you want to see Kaoru in an apron, you will have to register. [Translation] Tsukiuta. 2nd Anniversary Round-Table Discussion ~Seniors version~

I’m a bit late but, happy birthday Shun! I started to translate this on his birthday but due to this interview being long, I only ended up finishing on 25th. This is an interview published in the AGF version of Tsukiuta Monthly Publication, meaning it’s 6 years old by now.

I should have translated the 1st anniversary interview, but this one really left me in shock. I mean.... SHUN HAS A KINK?????? I’M JUST????? TSUKIPRO?????

Anyway, that’s all I’m going to say for now, I hope I made you curious. Many thanks to Ryota and Chrome for assisting me and helping with the proofreading. Please don’t reuse/retranslate/repost my work. I mean, seriously.

Haru: The 2nd anniversary round-table discussion of the Tsukiuta. series, seniors version is…… starting!

Shun: Wah (claps)♪

Haru: That being said, this year had a lot of chaotic things in store for us, but somehow we managed to reach the second anniversary without any problems. We’re grateful for that, aren’t we?

Hajime: That’s right. Thank you for always supporting us.

Kai: Thank you. We will never forget this feeling of gratitude.

Shun: Ah, I remember it was during last year’s round-table talk… Ever since AGF finished, there were a lot of opportunities to organize different plans and fairs. We managed to expand our merchandise too, didn’t we?

Haru: Well, speaking of big things, we also had a corner with things for our fans, and then Haru no Fan Matsuri1 too……?

Kai: Then Super Comics, the artbook, the summer comics, the collaboration with Karatez-san, then the Full Moon Fair & Full Moon Cafe, and now we’re back to AGF.

Hajime: We had a big event about every two months and in addition to that, our duet CDs were being released monthly. Somehow it feels like we’ve been busy all year round. Good grief.

Haru: Right? But monthly progress is something fitting for Tsukiuta (smiles bitterly). Good job for now.

Kai: Good job~

Hajime: Good work.

Shun: Good work. This round-table discussion gives us the chance to take it easy and look back over what happened this year. Ever since last year’s events it feels like our talk has become a routine.

Hajime: Okay. Then without further delays…. Haru, bring the tea.

Shun: Ye~s. I want some too.

Haru: Really? That’s how we’re starting? (laughs)

Question: “Tell us about a situation that occurred during the production of the duet CDs.”

Kai: ......Well, until our spoiled leaders get their tea, we have our first topic. “A situation that happened during the production of our duet CDs” it says.

Haru: Hmph, hmph.

Kai: Each of us had to prepare two duets at a time, right? The ones Shun and I got were “Kimi ni hana o, kimi ni hoshi o” and “Celestite”.

Haru: Otherwise known as “Hana Hoshi” and “Kuro Ouji2”, right?

Kai: Yeah. “Hana Hoshi” is based on my image, while “Kuro Ouji” is based on......

Shun: Behold☆ My image!

Hajime & Haru: …...Aah (both see the light)

Shun: By the way, since the composers and the listeners both have their own impressions on the songs, the prompter is telling us to talk about some stuff that happened during the photoshoots for the CD jackets.

Haru: Roger (smiles bitterly). So, about those photoshoots…...

Shun: The Hana Hoshi photoshoot was fun. It was done somewhere in the north, on a vast field.

Hajime: Based on that description alone, it must have been cold.

Kai: We actually went there during the summer, so the cold air was pleasant. Underneath a sky covered by stars, we were sitting on a flower bed with bouquets in our hands. It felt so nice…… for us it was very relaxing.

Shun: Fufufu. Because of the shade of my costume, at first glance it looked as if I had a ribbon on my bare chest. That created many confusions, you know?

Hajime: You sound glad about that.

Haru: Above your head was a complete starry sky, and you were holding flowers in your birthday suit (distant look)

Kai: …...You’ve just destroyed my precious memory…...

Hajime: Now that you mention it, I’ve observed since long ago that many of the Procella duets have the word ‘flower’ in their titles. Is there a reason why?

Shun: Fufufu. You have good eyes, Hajime. It's a coincidence I'd like to call ‘fate’!

Kai: That was so blunt (laughs)! But it really was just a ‘coincidence’. Although we all have different producers, these kind of things happen once in a while. I guess you could call it proof of our unity?

Haru: Wow, you’re forcing your own conclusion~ (laughs bitterly)

Hajime: …...Haru, do we have something similar to that?

Haru: Don’t force me to compete with that, leader (laughs). Also, if you think about it, Celestite is not a ‘flower’.

Kai: For that one, we went completely into Shun-sama’s world. Or should I call it the ‘Spirit World’?

Shun: Ahaha, Kai? Do you want a demonstration of my real powers? I’ll show you how hard I worked for the ‘Kuro Ouji’ concept.

Hajime: Indeed, it suited you. Both you, …...and Kai.

Kai: Me too?

Hajime: Yeah, it suited you…...I think. Kai, during TsukiRadio, you did something similar to a Demon Lord, right? The younger kids said you fit that image perfectly. I think so, too.

Shun: Kai’s physical build was perfect for this to begin with. Those black clothes brought a lot of impact to the surface. He was definitely cool-looking.

Kai: Eh, you think so? You two praising me makes me feel a bit embarrassed, but I’m happy. Thanks.

Hajime: On the other hand, we have ‘Koi wasuregusa’ and “Hajimari no haru”.

Haru: Yes.

Kai: I could feel Japanese vibes coming from both of you, and I’m talking about both the titles and the costumes.

Haru: Ahaha. Is it because of Hajime?

Hajime: ? What about me giving off that ‘traditional Japanese’ impression?

Shun: Your entire image is built that way, can’t you see, Hajime? Take your first stage outfit for example, it was heavily inspired by traditional elements.

Hajime: …...I see.

Shun: On the other hand, mine is inspired from the west.

Hajime: Even without you mentioning that, it can be seen that the duet costumes and many other costumes are made based on a western style.

Haru: Maybe the reason why Gravi’s and Procella’s own images are divided into ‘western’ and ‘traditional’ is exactly because of our leaders’ images.

Hajime: Our images...huh.

Kai: Though, the more you look at Koi Wasure, the more luxurious it looks. Are those costumes made from Nishijin silk fabrics3?

Shun: They look that way. I was watching them when the shoot happened, but the real thing looks even more impressive than in the photos. I think someone poured their soul into those outfits, and the final result is only proof of their skills.

Haru: Speaking of effort? On site, everyone was bursting with energy, but that shoot honestly made me all tensed up for the first time in a while. I rarely wear kimonos to begin with…… I mean I probably wore a kimono only for the Shichi-Go-San festival4 in the past and having to wear one again after so long felt like too much of a hurdle for me (smiles bitterly).

Hajime: Haru, has it really been that long since you've worn a kimono?

Haru: Ahaha, Hajime. Most people aren't even fated to wear a kimono in their entire lifetime. I’m one of them. I can’t get used to it, and if it wrinkles or looks dirty even the slightest bit, I become terrified. Kai: Don’t mind it, Haru (laughs). Well, wasn’t the concept of that jacket cover the ‘bewitching, traditional Japanese rock style’? In that case, the beguiling king concept was a huge success in a way. Good job, Haru.

Haru: Oh, geez.

Kai: Finally, ‘Hajimari no Haru’. You had the same ‘traditional’ theme, but it was the complete opposite of the previous CD and felt more formal. The military uniforms gave a nice, cool feeling.

Haru: Correct. The costumes were made to represent military outfits. You can tell that just by looking (laughs).

Shun: Hajime! This includes Haru as well, but Hajime looked sooo good! It suited you so well, I end up wanting to crawl! I want to go down on all fours and be stepped on by you! I want to see you cast that cold glare onto me!

Kai: …...Shun, Hajime’s backing away slowly. Haru and I, too...

Question: “What event left a strong impression on you?”

Haru: Shall we answer at the same time?

Kai: Ooh, a curve ball was thrown. ‘Kay, let’s do it. I’ll bring the notebooks and markers then. Everyone, write~.

Hajime: I’m done.

Haru: Ooh, we got half and half (laughs). My answer is without a doubt ‘Haru no Fan Matsuri’. It has my name in it too, but it’s also because I worked on every special benefit up until the smallest detail.

Hajime: Aah, indeed, like the little bunny plate that came as a bonus or the rubber strap that came with the DVD and stuff. I chose our first independent event because it left an impression. Unfortunately, my schedule didn’t match with it so I was only able to participate via video feed.

Kai: As expected, you went for ‘Haru’ (laughs)? On the other hand, I chose the Full Moon Fair which incidentally ended not long ago~. It was our first nationwide Animate fair, after all. And the Animate storefront even made it on the ‘Kyarabii5’ cover, right? The fact that they were given that important cover space made me so happy.

Haru: It was the first time in a while when all of us were featured in a photo.

Shun: We were so lively (chuckles). In one set we were wearing casual clothes, and in the other yukatas.

Haru: That one also ended up being the cover of the calendar this year.

Kai: The fans’ reaction was more than what we were all expecting, so the staff was left in awe at the power of the yukatas and some hair arrangements.

Haru: Hajime, you also let your hair down, right?

Hajime: You’re the one who messed with my hair. I wish I had done something about that back then.

Haru: Ahaha, that’s true. That was the result of me talking with the hair and make-up artists and how we agreed that not teasing your hair up was better since the yukata was so fitting on you.

Hajime: I admit they complimented my hair, young master.

Shun: Ah, yes, yes. Me too. They said I looked like the prodigal son of a rich family. Kakeru and I happened to be shot side-by-side, and they were saying from all directions that we looked like ‘the apprentice and the prodigal son’. Ahaha.

All of them: (Because that’s exactly how it looked like)

Hajime: Our first solo event, and our first national fair. This year we had a lot of ‘first times’ once again as a series.

Shun: That’s what we would call some of our many progresses. Thank you very much.

Question: “Tell us about other work situations if there are any.”

Shun: This year, a lot of new opportunities arose for me and to top it all off, I’m really, reaaaaally happy that I got to experience being paired in the leaders group. I think it was very fun. (softly)

Kai: The twelve of us look like some kind of family (lol). We barely had space for everyone to fit in at the same time, but even with the limited room by picking out the right camera exposure levels, the two leaders didn't look unnatural. Of course, there's the tiniest bit of post-production as well.

Haru: Wow, that’s a very vivid story you got there!

Shun: Geez, Kai~ I’m trying to be grateful here so please don’t bring up business here.

Kai: Ahaha, my bad, my bad.

Hajime: ……. I’ve been thinking about that too.

Shun: Yes?

Hajime: Your…... ‘that’ thing you do, Shun…...Being my fan I mean. I started to think about it only recently, but half of that thing is a joke, isn’t it? I’m not wrong about that, am I?

Shun: ーーー!?

Kai: Ah, his shock is easy to understand for once.

Haru: It really is. …...I can’t ignore how pitiful Shun looks now so I’ll back him up. Listen Hajime, anyone can tell that Shun's very serious about ‘that thing’, you know?

Hajime: …...Really?

Kai: Yeah. And what I’m about to add might sound strange…… but I can confirm he’s been seriously devoting himself to his fan activities and supporting you since the beginning and until now. From the start he rarely, er, sometimes, no, always was noisy about it, but well, he can be pretty entertaining if you feel like listening to him.

Haru: He never changed (laughs)

Hajime: Is that so……? …...I see. I’m sorry, Shun. Thank you for always supporting me.

Haru: Ah, here’s the heartfelt fan interaction. (laughs)

Shun: ーー!! That "I see" just now! That gives me legal authority to accompany you from now on, right!? In that case there’s no problem! I don’t mind it! It just means I didn’t put my heart enough into it. From now on I'll work hard on my fervor for Hajime so that my love will be conveyed! L O V E Hajime LOVE!! WASSHOI! (grabs Hajime and clings to him)

Hajime: ……

Shun: Hajime~, Hajime~♪ Fufufu no fu (snuggles)

Hajime: ……

Kai: (whispering) Hajime’s definitely trying his best not to send Shun flying across the room.

Haru: (whispering) He’s really putting up with him (laughs). Let’s not forget that apology from earlier. It’s a good thing our leaders are on good terms with each other. A really good thing.

Kai: Right~? The leaders’ work kept increasing, but on the other hand, we are still considered…… uhh, ‘advisers’? We also received more and more jobs in pairs like this one and they’re always fun.

Haru: Ahaha, you’re right.

Hajime: ……

Haru: …...Anyway, I think that’s enough, Shun (laughs bitterly). Our king is a cat after all. You can hug him however much you want, but he won’t get used to it. He’s already turning into stone, so can you release him?

Hajime: Who are you calling a cat, Haru? (sigh)

Kai: You say that but it's so easy to tell that you're relieved (laughs). Good work, Hajime.

Question: “Leave a message for your fans.”

Hajime: It’s been exactly one year since the last AGF. Due to everyone’s support, it feels as if we were able to go a few levels up. Thanks. This is more or less all I wanted to say.

Shun: Fufufu, indeed. The things I want to say as Procella’s leader and the things I want to convey myself, too, are exactly the same as the ones Gravi’s leader, Hajime, just said. …...Thank you, everyone.

Haru: You switched from fan mode to leader mode (laughs).

Kai: I’m always amazed when he does that switch (laughs).

Haru: I think now’s the time for the advisers to show their gratitude too. And we'd be happy to receive your support for more of the merchandise promotions we do together in the future.

Kai: And don’t forget about the youngers either! Their growth is remarkable even from our point of view, so don’t miss out any of that.

Shun: You pulled that off perfectly. As expected from our reliable partners.

Hajime: …...Right? I trust both of them too.

Kai: Ahaha, thanks. Among our unit members, the senior group aspire to be the ‘most steady’. Let’s continue doing things in our comfortable rhythm and without pushing ourselves.

Haru: The younger ones will be able to walk ahead without worries if we build them a solid foundation, won’t they?

Shun: Even more than that, we are both their foundation and their guides. The two of us should pave the path for them, don’t you think so, Hajime? A path everyone would stroll on happily as they head for joyful days.

Hajime: Yeah. …...Indeed. As the ones who walk ahead of everyone, you and me have that role.

Haru: If you two get tired, don’t hesitate to tell us, okay?

Kai: I don’t mind if I’m being relied on even without them being tired.

Hajime: Then I want a second helping.

Kai: Of tea? …..Well, I'll guess I'll pour it for you then (chuckle).

Haru no Fan Matsuri (translated 'The spring fan festival') was an event held back in 2014. The guests were Masuda Toshiki (Kisaragi Koi), Aoi Shota (Minaduki Rui), Kanemoto Hisako (Hijiri Kurisu), Uesaka Sumire (Tendouin Tsubaki), Mamiya Yasuhiro (Kurotsuki Dai) and Yamanaka Masahiro (Tsukishiro Kanade). Kuro Ouji means 'Black Prince'. Shun reveals in his duet SS that according to the song concept, he's the black (imperial) prince. I'll get to it more when I translate that SS.

The Nishijin silk fabrics are high quality silk fabrics originating from Kyoto.

The Shichi-Go-San Festival (translated 'Seven-Five-Three Festival) is an event held on 15th of November for girls who are 3 or 7 years old and for boys who are 5 years old. On that day they celebrate the growth and well-being of young children.

Goodbye 2019. Hello 2020.

To celebrate the new year - which a lot of people are celebrating right now, I’m sure, unfortunately not me yet - I decided to create this post. I don’t know how to explain it but if you like kpop, keep reading!

My Top 3 Songs of 2019

1. SKZ - Miroh

This song got me into my now ult group, Stray Kids. Those 9 boys have honestly made this year 10x better for me. Chan’s VLives definitely helped me when I was upset, and the members made me feel emotions by their side. I’m so glad that add of Miroh appeared and I chose to watch it because I may have not gotten into Stray Kids without it.

2. ATEEZ - Wave

Again, another song that got me into the group. I heard the song in a video where they played huge jenga at Kcon... I think? Anyways, this song is another banger and you completely fall in love with it first listen. You won’t regret listening to this.

3. TWICE - Fancy

I got into TWICE when they released YES OR YES, but FANCY is the song that you can’t not fall in love with. I did on my 2nd listen and man, if you’re saying you didn’t learn the dance and bopped to this song, you are LYING because- let’s be honest - everyone said FANCY SOTY.

Groups I began stanning in 2019 its felt like forever tho

Stray Kids - March 26th. You think I would forget?

ATEEZ - August 18th. Another date I remember, because I spent a good 2 hours getting to memorize the members name and faces. Was so happy when I finally did it.

iKON - Honestly, I was more of a Double B stan since January until Hanbin left. I loved their songs but I never got to know the rest of the members, except for Jinhwan.

ChungHa - Snapping dragged me in. That’s all I gotta say. Although, ngl, Gotta Go was something I always tried to dance to.

KARD - Again, Bomb Bomb just pulled me into the fandom. The rest of their discography made me stay. I sang along to Bomb Bomb everyday for a good 3 months. It was honestly EVERYTHING to me and then Dumb Litty came and stole my heart and KARD did it AGAIN.

Mamamoo - gogobebe. Do I really need to say anything else?

GOT7 - I’m pretty sure I got into them because, well everyone knows GOT7. They’re a name everyone knows if you like kpop, so I just wanted to get into them. Eclipse and You Calling My Name are songs I’ll dance and singalong to in the right mood and right part of the song. But their personalities dragged me in. I’m pretty sure BamBam also attracted me when he was on Stray Kids reality show.

Day6 - Time Of Our Life. I decided to listen to it because Seungmin of Stray Kids was a big fan of them and I was like, it shouldn’t hurt to try. Seungmin made me want to watch and Day6 made me want to stay. They don’t make ANY bad songs.

Everglow - March 18. Listened to Bon Bon Chocolat when it came out, and I was honestly scared ppl were gonna sleep on them cause ITZY debuted a month before. Fortunately, everyone noticed their talent.

BigBang - I dunno just listened to one of their songs. And, of course, I fell in love. Too late to stan them while they were active, but I’m expecting something in 2020... just saaying.

NCT - All of the subunits. Honestly there were so many of them, I spent time taking tests to tell them apart. The struggle to stan these boys. Instantly fell in with the Dreamies. And then I found out they weren’t a fixed unit... My heart shattered. It’s still breaking because 4 OF THEM ARE LEAVING. or left. I dunno.

Tomorrow by Together - They were probably the most anticipated group of this year. I remember ppl hyping them up in October of 2018! Predebut stan right here. (I just remembered that I thought the preview of each member was coming out in age order and thinking that Beomgyu was the youngest. And I was just like WHERE IS HEUNINGKAI FROM?!?!)

ITZY - remember when everyone thought that itzy’s debut was rushed because info about them was leaked. yeah, i forgot too. anyways, again I was a predebut stan.

(G)- idle - i always listened to their title tracks and I began stanning them during Queendom after their Fire cover im listening to 2ne1 2015 mama fire performance rn lol.... omg bom’s han cover just started playing. spotify is watching me guys.

Somi - Birthday was a bop. fight me. outfits sucked, gotta agree with that opinion I didn’t rlly know much about IOI but I started stanning because Jenchu were fangirling to it i mean jennie twerked for it!

Jimin Park - I’m out here still streaming STAY BEAUTIFUL. honestly she’s so loveable. her personality and her voice are everything. how can you not like her

My Top 5 Groups of the Year

1. STRAY KIDS - A lot of the reasons I luv them are the same as ATEEZ. That’s why ateez are close to being my number one, but honestly these 9 boys are everything to me. 9 or NONE FOREVER. They have been through so much this year and I hope they STAY strong for 2020. In their 2020 seasons greeting they announced a full album next year, so I’m ready to follow these boys on their journey no matter how many stay or leave. I’m a STAY for a reason.

2. ATEEZ - PERSONALITY. I’m also a sucker for groups that shove their love for each other in your face. 8 makes 1 team, y’know? Hongjoong and Mingi are amazing rappers, Jongho, Wooyoung and San’s vocals tho, Yunho and Seonghwa’s deep voices are the death of me, and Yeosang dancing. They’re talented and luvable and that’s all I need for an ult group. also all their songs are bops

3. Mamamoo - Honestly would’ve tied with Twice but these I’m a sucker for them as ppl as well, and I need that to luv a group. they ain’t fake, they slap information in your face and they are POWERFUL WOMAN. (Not saying twice aren’t ofcourse) And these girls vocals are on POINT. Moonbyul is rapper material, but have you heard the girl song? What an angel. Their songs are all slaps, especially the most recent ones.

4. TWICE - This was their year? yes or yes. Fancy soty. Feel Special was a great title track, don’t get me wrong, bUT HAVE YOU HEARD THE FULL ALBUM. Every song is my AMAZING. omg rainbow is playing

5. NCT DREAM - These boys stole my heart, I only stanned nct because of them. Honestly seeing the 00 line leave breaks my heart.

My Top 5 girl group and boy group songs

gg songs were honestly so hard to pick, they thrived and SO many good songs were made in 2019. But here is my list.

1. Fancy - soty

2. Hip - this song was everything from the choreo to the song itself to the girls energy performing it

3. Psycho - came out like last week but it’s in everyone's top 10 of this year. Beautiful song that won’t get outta my head. getwellsoonwendy.

4.Violeta - this is another song that won’t get out of my head. honestly none of these songs will. ok so the final dance part after the drop of violeta pisses me off because the dance could is so powerful and that part comes and it’s such a disappointment but it’s the only part I can do so i shouldn't complain but the song itself is very catchy. I don’t want these girls to disband even if the votes were rigged because they make a good group and sing bangers. i don't want them to leeeave.

5.Lion - the song is just so powerful. other songs they’ve made are good, but the chorus is usually a disappointment because the pre chorus is so good but EVERYTHING is great about Lion. Didn’t like it at first for some reason, i dunno why, but once you give it a few more listens you’ll fall in love.

Now onto the boy groups. They made quite a few bangers this year as well.

1. Miroh - It’s my no.1 of the year. watchu expect?

2. Wave - and this is my no.2. Again, what else would I put here?

3. Run Away - what. a. bop. still can’t get out of my head. Crown was a disappointment to me after 1000 listens but not Run Away. A bonus is the Harry Potter references. With that I just was head over heels in love. Txt didn’t fail to disappoint with their comeback even if it was pushed back.

4. Boom - This song made me fall in love with the talent that NCT DREAM holds despite being so young. Sang along for a few months. Actually, it’s still in my head.

5. Make It Right - I was doing title tracks for all these but then I realised there has to be an exception because I just really like this song, especially the one featuring Lauv. Boy with luv wasn’t it for me but every other song on Persona is a straight up masterpiece (ok an exaggeration but u get what i mean)

Now onto the soloists (they’re all female, sry not sry)

1. Chica - I was debating whether to put Snapping or this but decided with Chica. Honestly the vocals, the song, the dance, the MESSAGE, is everything. I love it, it empowers woman, it makes ME feel good, and it’s what some people really need sometimes. So, thank you ChungHa.

2. Gotta Go - another bop by our queen ChungHa, she really ruled this year. I didn’t stan her when it came out but that doesn’t mean I didn’t do the ‘deulshi’ part whenever I heard it. iconic.

3. Twit - Again another iconic bop from this year. (i thought this masterpiece came out last year, i dunno why but it just is so 2018 for some reason? I dunno) Hwasa’s solo debut really was everything. So was Moonbyul’s which unfortunately didn't make it on the list but I would say it’s in between 5th to 7th for me.

4. Stay Beautiful - Such a beautiful song, it was a shame Jamie had to leave but she left JYP saying that they lost smth PRECIOUS and they would regret it and she conveyed all that in one song without hinting at it. So many quote worthy lyrics were in the song and it just bring up my mood and my standard for vocals. Don’t sleep on this girl, y’all.

5. Birthday - the song brought out mixed reactions from everyone but i LOVED IT. It did get a bit old but it’s still something you’ll find me singing along to every now and then.

ARTISTS THAT STOOD OUT TO ME THIS YEAR

1. Bang Chan of Stray Kids. I love him. He’s such a great leader, he’s a loveable person, he’s all rounded and he fucks up sometimes but he acknowledges it and fixes it. He went through so much shit this year and he deserves so much more. I, along with many other STAYs are gonna make 2020 a better year for him and all of his group. Stay strong Chan! But besides his personality his stage presence, his rapping, his singing, his producing, his energy, his personality, it all made him someone who was always on my mind.

2. Yeonjun of Tomorrow x Together. He’s also very well rounded and he really stands out to me from all the other 4th gens. Whenever I see a performance by TXT he always grabs my attention even when he’s not the main focus. I love his dancing, it’s very eye catching to me, along with his stage presence. He never loses his energy on stage and I expect a lot from him in 2020! His rapping and singing are amazing as well, especially for a rookie. Also when they first debuted he cried a lot, which was very heartwarming to me because idols showing emotion other than happy is something I appreciate, because it lets me remember they’re human too.

3. Seulgi of Red Velvet. She’s, again, very well rounded. I’m not really a Reveluv, but Wendy and Seulgi are vocalists who really stand out to me so those to kind of make me want to listen to Red Velvet’s songs. She’s an amazing vocalist, like words can’t express how much a love this woman's voice. Her stage presence is amazing as well, she’s just a really good performer imo.

4. Jihyo and Nayeon of TWICE. First of all I really like their personality and how powerful they are. Honestly a wink from them and I’m falling of my chair. Secondly, I don’t know if anyone's noticed but I really like powerful female vocals, and these two have extremely POWERFUL vocals. Have you heard them sing? Just... POWERFUL, that’s all I can really say to describe their voices.

5. Mingi and Hongjoong of ATEEZ. They are rapper that are gonna blow away the whole industry with 3racha, I mean they already have. Did y’all see their performance in MAMA. The RAWEST vocals I heard that whole show. They were obviously not lip syncing, you could hear Mingi panting and he didn’t rap a whole line, and I LOVE that because it is RAW and we need more raw vocals or atleast breaths heard when the artists are dancing because it makes the performance more REAL. also stage presence is amazing from these two, they really know how to hype up a crowd.

ROOKIE GROUPS I EXPECT A LOT FROM NEXT YEAR

sorry my expectations are high for them, but they have stood out tome so much and i couldn’t stand to see them flop.

1. TOMORROW X TOGETHER - they’ve been on this list quite a lot, and I really appreciate their individual talents along with them as a group. I REALLY want to see them improve and grow more next year because they were really pushed this year, being BTS’s juniors. I’m sure they were really stressed but I want them to become TOMORROW BY TOGETHER not BTS’s juniors. Probably won’t happen in a year but hopefully in the next decade.

2. ITZY - another group really known for theing the juniors of TWICE this time. The title tracks they released so far have all been listen to it the first time, you don;t like it, but listen to it the 2nd time and it’s stuck in your head for the next 7 months. Honestly if they keep going like this, it would be like a ITZY thing, and I honestly wouldn’t mind.

3. EVERGLOW - i think everyone just saw bon bon chocolat, gave it a listen, and loved it. but i also heard it was produced by someone who helped produce Crown by TXT and Spring Day by BTS, so there’s another reason ppl may have liked it so much. Adios wasn’t a disappointment at all. Of course, I would also love it if Everglow kept up the “nanana” thing in each of their title tracks.

4. ATEEZ - I don’t think they’ll flop at all next year. I know they just had their 1st year anniversary, but I wouldn’t mind a full album... either way, Imma stick with them because they’ve only released that good shit so far and I’m honestly expecting a somewhat mediocre song at least once in their career next year. Not expecting it though.

5. ONEUS - I haven’t’t talked about them yet but all of oneus’s title tracks are absolute gold. I am a mess for Valkyrie, Twilight AND Lit. They’re all just AMAZING songs. I mean, what did we expect from Mamamoo’s juniors but. They are REALLY good. Just go listen to all their title tracks rn.

And finally, wishes for 2020

- Of course, Wendy to recover after her tragic incident at SBS. Again, I hope she recovers well

- Mina to come back from her hiatus, only if she’s ready to, of course

- BLACKPINK FULL ALBUM. ROSE SOLO. PLEASE.

- Of course, 4th gen to thrive along with 3rd gen and 2nd gen groups

- A full album from stray kids (which was confirmed) and again, maybe for ATEEZ? just maybe?

- More attention for Mamamoo. They are underrated queens.

- Less hate for Tomorrow By Together. People bash them just because they’re BTS’s juniors. they would be praised a less but definitely not doubted way more if they weren’t under Bighit. Yeah, they get luxuries other groups won’t but that doesn’t mean people should degrade them for it.

Sumary: Time travel AU! The temptation to fix everything it’s too hard for Sasuke to resist.

For the Sasusaku month day 8: Oasis

The oasis It’s guarded by proud people of the old religions, they have chakra but they don’t call it chakra, they call it soul spirit.

They act with kind reverence around Sakura because they could tell she was a healer when they first saw her. Just as they bow with respect around Sasuke because of the lingering dark power he naturally emanates.

They show the travelling couple the way to the oasis as if it was their duty. The place is beautiful.

Underground corridors of weirdly coloured stones leading to a secret cavern and in the middle, a dazzling string of transparent water reflecting the colours of the precious gems lining the place around them.

“Only people with a powerful soul spirit can make use of the oasis.” Says the leader of the people, “the waters of this place allow the travellers who are worthy to go back in their own history and mend past sins.”

“We are powerful enough.” Mutters Sasuke purposely walking towards the waters that starts to glow as if it were sensing his chakra.

He stops at the edge of the oasis, giving Sakura an inviting, hopeful glance. Extending his only hand in her direction.

“Sasuke-kun, we don’t need to do this.” Taking two hesitant steps towards Sasuke, the young Kunoichi tries to dissuade her lover. “We’re happy now. Aren’t we?”

“I did so many mistakes, committed so many wrongdoings in my life, Sakura. I treated you so awfully. Don’t we deserve a second chance? A little more time to be together?” He sounds distant. In the same way he sounded as a Gennin, when his sole purpose was vengeance.

“We have all the time in the world, Sasuke-kun.” She tries.

“I’m sorry Sakura.” He apologises, closing his eyes. “Hopefully you won’t remember any of this when I’m finally done with everything.” After the brief but heartfelt apology, Sasuke allows himself to fall into the water, finding himself surrounded by white light and Sakura’s voice screaming his name.

Then only Darkness.

He wakes up feeling different. Weaker, in a room he hadn’t seen or been in, since his childhood days.

A quick trip to the bathroom and a brief glance at the mirror tells him he’s four, maybe five, in any case just a few years ahead of the massacre that changed his life and transformed him into the man he is... Was.

Now that he’s here, Sasuke is not really sure of what he wants to do. Not in specific terms anyway. He wants to be a better friend for Naruto, wants to be a younger brother for Itachi. For sure.

He especially wants to become the man Sakura deserves. Wants to accept her invitations to dinners and festivals, to hold her hand around the village and in their travels. He even longs for the opportunity to be openly jealous of Naruto’s and Lee’s advances on Sakura.

Sasuke wants to meet her parents without the lingering shame of being the man who broke her heart and tried to kill her. He still remembers standing alongside Sakura in front of the Harunos, telling them that he was going to take their daughter away while knowing he had dared to raise his hand at her in open violence.

He overall wants to train alongside her, to become strong as they grow together under the same sky.

He decides to start with the massacre because he doesn’t want to lose his brother once again. Sasuke will leave the final decision to Itachi, but he will be the one to tell him about the coup d'etat or at least he will find a less violent outcome for his clan.

In the following months he keeps his ears and eyes open for any signs or talk of treason from his parents. He’s aware that he can’t talk to Itachi until he knows for sure his parents are at least in the planning stages of their betrayal.

A few months into his new life he hears his mother talk about spies in the academy reporting to her. His father grunts his approval and then he tells her about Itachi being difficult about his part in the coup d’etat. That’s all he needs.

He cries in his brother’s lap for the first time in decades, that night. Forcing Itachi to comfort him and hear him out. “Mother and father were talking about killing Lord third.” He sobs in his brother’s chest. “Are we bad people?”

“No, little brother,” placates the prodigy. “I just wish you wouldn’t have to hear that.”

“We have to tell Lord third!” Screams Sasuke just in case Itachi hadn’t thought about it already.

“I already did that, Sasuke.” Sighs Itachi with resignation. “And Lord Hokage has been trying to find peace between the Uchiha elders and the village, to no avail. It seems that as long our elders are in power, we won’t come to an agreement.”

“Then...” Stresses Sasuke, “Brother and cousin Shisui should run the clan.” This is enough for Itachi to stare at him.

“And what about father and mother?” Asks the Uchiha heir softly.

“They’re doing something really bad, Nii-san.” He says seriously, in that childish manner of speaking he’s been forcing himself to adapt to. “We can’t let them, even if it makes them sad, even if Lord third has to punish them after.”

In the following months the crimes of the Uchiha elders alongside his parents and some extremists are revealed to a close number of people. The elders and his parents are put on trial and disposed as leaders of the clan.

In their place, a group of young powerful Shinobi with Itachi as the youngest clan head in history are taking their place. But the Hokage is merciful with them, only banishing them into the outskirts of the Uchiha district, being carefully observed by Hyuuga Anbu.

At the same time, Shisui, coming out of a horrifying fight with Danzo, exposes the man and his followers as sadistic treacherous Shinobi. Training young kids into a personal army, experimenting with dead Uchiha. Killing young, promising ninja just for the sake of emotional torture.

Sarutobi-sama, intransigent as he may be, can’t and won’t allow child abuse in any form, the deaths of so many children forever carved in his mind and his heart as a personal penance. He orders Danzo’s execution on the spot.

Sasuke celebrates his sixth birthday without his parents, but with his big brother by his side as a better clan head than his father could ever be.

Sasuke finds Naruto on a park a few weeks after his birthday. He wasn’t planning on it but he figures this is a good enough moment as any other to start a better friendship with his surrogate brother.

“Hi.” He says over the blond boy who is kneeling alone in the sandbox, looking dejected and broken. “My name is Sasuke. Who are you?”

At first the boy doesn’t realise he’s being talked to, he moves his head but doesn’t look at him until Sasuke stomps his foot on the sand to get back his attention. “I’m sorry” apologies Naruto. “I can go if...”

“I asked for your name.” Insists Sasuke.

“Naruto Uzumaki,” answers his future friend surprised.

“Well Naruto, do you want to play with me?”

Naruto screams an excited yes with one of those sunny smiles that never failed to make girls blush in his timeline, Sasuke smirks as he sits alongside the blond and plays with him until Itachi himself comes from a consul reunion to bring him home.

“Hi, Nii-san,” smiles Sasuke, expecting and faking annoyance at his brother poking him in the forehead. “I made a friend today can he come for dinner and stay the night?”

Itachi would deny his request in a heartbeat if he wasn’t aware of Naruto’s story. But he does and so, he grants him his wish that day and the days to follow. Effectively becoming a surrogate three man family unit for Naruto.

Sasuke still wants to find Sakura, maybe even partake in his own version of puppy-love with her. But the Uchiha’s second son can’t be seen marauding civilian territory. Tentative peace between the Uchiha and the village put into action or not.

So to his utter disappointment they don’t meet each other until they both enter the academy.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Part of Sasuke doesn’t want to be Sakura’s knight in shining armour. Because he genuinely believes that is Ino’s job and because he knows Sakura deserves her independence.

But he hates seeing her cry, hates seeing mean girls hurting her and humiliating her as if the act of belittling her were a sport they were particularly good at playing. Sasuke feels the physical need to run over there were the little girl is kneeling on the floor, hiding her pretty face with her long bangs and tiny hands as she cries her green eyes out while she’s being insulted and kicked by her classmates.

In the end Ino ends up beating him to the punch. The Yamanaka heiress does a beautiful show off being Sakura’s warrior princess, too.

She jumps on the scene with her chest held high, screaming at the girls to stop and to scram, the bullies glare at Ino with defiance and the flower girl returns the challenge with the same or even stronger determination.

She then takes care of Sakura, cleans her dirt covered face and puts a cute ribbon on her head to clear her face.

“There, you look cuter this way.” Compliments Ino holding a hand-mirror in front of their faces.

“But... But my fo-forehead,” stutters Sakura, in a display of shyness Sasuke has never seen before. He’s always known Sakura as an energetic, strong and confident girl, this shy version of her is new and not something he knows how to handle.

“The more you try to hide it, the more attention you bring to it!” Exclaims the blonde. “Besides it’s not so bad, you just have to show off a pretty face like that. I like the style, anyway.”

Sakura blushes and looks at Ino as if she’s the sun. Sasuke decides to let them have their moment.

He has all the time in the world, anyway.

Sasuke resolves to wait until they get in team seven together to become closer to Sakura. He tries to start a conversation with her a handful of times, but her shyness always unsettles him.

He still acts kinder to her than anyone else when he can. Smiling at her when she manages to sit by his side, accepting her hand-made bento when she wills herself to give it to him, he even trains shuriken-jutsu with her two or three times when Iruka-sensei instructs them to pair off.

Sakura doesn’t notice, still too shy and with a still too low self esteem. But Naruto surely does. Sasuke knows Naruto still likes Sakura, he’s attracted to her odd hair and her sunny smiles just as much as every little boy who ever fell for her in his timeline was, and even if the younger Uchiha is aware that someday in the future they will develop a sibling bond, his heart still constricts when Naruto asks him:

“Do you like anyone?” His eyes staring at the ground, while unconsciously scratching his head.

“Yes,” he answers with the honesty Naruto deserves from him. “I like Sakura.”

“Wh-What?!” Exclaims the Kyubi. “You can’t like Sakura-chan!”

“Why?” Maybe it’s healthier for them to exteriorise their feelings about it. He knows one or two things about bottling up emotions.

“Because I like Sakura-chan!” Confesses the boy as if it was the easiest thing in the world to say.

“Well, I like her, too. So if you want to win her over you’ll have to confront me, idiot.” He challenges his best friend with an air of superiority.

“You’ll see!” Screams Naruto, pointing directly at his face “I’ll become Hokage and I’ll marry Sakura-chan!”

And so, their rivalry is born.

Sasuke knows that someday in the future, Naruto will notice the girl that has been chasing him around for longer than anyone.

He also has the conviction to never give up on Sakura’s love, not ever again.

But for the time being, their relationship could do with some girl related rivalry.

I mean, today is my birthday.

A lot of things happened. I had work today, and it was with Shun-san!

As usual Shun-san was really cool (but he’s still troublesome lol~)

I’m also really glad he is so much more open to us now. Our leader.

Fifty years ago was the famous or perhaps infamous “Summer of Love” in San Francisco where over 100,000 young people migrated from around the world essentially launching the global hippie explosion of a counterculture revolution.. Maybe you were there or maybe you are the child of a flower child and completely exhausted from hearing about the good ‘ole days of sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll. The nostalgia surrounding that complex time period is being showcased in multiple museums and exhibits around the San Francisco Bay Area. If you want to take a stroll down memory lane for a flashback of the 60’s, make sure to check out the various events.

School is out, Father’s Day is here, graduations, birthdays, weddings, camping trips, water sports, barbeques, and multiple outdoor activities highlight the summer season. Whatever you do, be safe, smart, and enjoy your family and friends as they are precious.

A Father's Day History by Karen Kitchel

Sonora Louise Smart Dodd first brought up the idea of a Father's day in 1909. She wanted a special day to honor her father, William Smart. When Sonora's mother died in childbirth with her sixth child, William, who was a veteran of the Civil War, was left to raise the newborn and five other children by himself on a small farm in Washington. Sonora realized how strong and unselfish her dad had been raising his kids as a single parent and she thought there should be a day to pay homage to him and other Dads like him. Sonora wanted Father's Day to be celebrated on the first Sunday in June because it was close to her Dad's birthday. Instead the first Father's Day celebration took place on June 19, 1910 in Spokane, Washington. In 1966, President Lyndon Johnson made the third Sunday of June Father's Day, but it wasn't until 1972 that President Richard Nixon made Father's Day a national holiday -- about 60 years after Mother's Day had been made a national holiday. Other countries also picked up on the idea of Father’s Day. While many followed suit by celebrating it on the third Sunday in June, some decided to honor Dad on different dates. And what's the best gift you can give if you're lucky enough to have a Dad? Write him a note and just tell him that you’re glad to be his child. Happy Father's Day to all who hold this very special title!

AICONE: Story 1: “You are the Producer!” Episode 1: “It’s the Producer’s Birthday?”

This is the story of the girls who work in this idol office. The story of girls and idols connecting. Miyu: Today was fun fufufu~n~♪　Fufufu~n~♪　I can't think of the lyrics～♪　Fufu~n♪ This girl's name is Yuzuki Miyu. She's a half Russian girl from Kansai and a new idol with a relaxed personality. Always in a good mood, Miyu opened the door to the idol office she'd joined. Mahiro: Happy birthday, Producer-san! Hearing Office Navigator Sakura Mahiro's lively voice, Miyu stopped. Miyu: Hm? You couldn't miss that voice... Though she did not enter, Miyu's ears quickly clung to the door. Producer: Eh? How did you know? The Producer's surprised voice chimes in. Miyu: Hmmmmm...? Mahiro: Hehe, you told me once when we were talking long ago. It's not much, but here's your present. Producer: A-a present? T-thank you! Mahiro: Please treasure it~♪ Producer: Y-yes, of course! I can't believe Mahiro-san gave me a present... Miyu: Ah, so it is the Producer's birthday.... I may not have a gift, but now I know, fufufu Mahiro: Fufufu, how old are you, by the way? Producer: Haha, 50. Is it not a good age? Miyu: Ah... Miyu was shocked by the conversation behind the door. Miyu: T-this is crazy information... O-oh this quite the situation. In a hurry, Miyu left the place. ＊＊＊

--A cafe near the office-- The idols of the office gathered around a computer terminal in the cafe, placing orders. Miyu stood in front of the group to deliver the news. Luna: I didn't know this. This is awkward... This girl is Hinomae Luna. A confident idol, she's a girl who's professionalism is greater than any other in the office. Though is is difficult for us, she is not overwhelmed by idol otaku. Sorako: Y-yes. I didn't know it was the Producer's birthday either. This girl is Harumiya Sorako. She has a good personality, spreading happiness to all people; she is a revered member of the office. Hikari: I see... We will have to hurry, but shall we get Puro-san a gift? Takahana Hikari. Cheerful and bright, an honorable type of girl generally liked by everyone. She also has a bit of a lonely side. Miyu: 50 is kind of gross. I was shocked... Hikari: Y-yes, that's right. I can't see it at all... it's surprising. He looks very young for his age. Kaede: Don't judge a person by their appearance. At that age, the Producer is running around everyday. He must be tired. He should eat some food with Vitamin B... This girl is Kohuu Kaede. The youngest in the office, she is a junior high second year idol. 13 years old, she enjoys taking care of the others and the calm atmosphere of the office. Hikari: Kae-chan is so kind... Aah, cute *gyu* Kaede: I'm not saying cute things. By the way, Hikari loves Kaede a bit too much, always give her hugs. Yui: That's right, yeah. I would be happy to show the Producer my daily gratitude. The humble voice came from Sezuki Yui. Though boyish on the outside, inside she has a girlish personality. She is easily overwhelmed by the moment's stress. Chino: Sigh. What present will please the Producer? Says Haneda Chino. A lax girl who works at her own pace, she became an idol because it seemed interesting. Because it is a versatile hobby, Chino focuses on the art direction of the idol group, drawing all time. Yatsuha: I do not know what my favourite Producer likes... uh.... Sakagami Yatsuha's face looks on the verge of tears. She's a bit of a weak crybaby. Like Kaede, she's a junior high schooler; a 14 year old third year. Always driving to train herself, her work ethic is out of the ordinary. Tsukasa: Yes yes yeeees! How about a new game? Izumi Tsukasa raised her hand, eyes glittering. Age 17 and oldest in the office, she is a sheltered girl who just moved to Tokyo from the country, so she is the least accustomed to the city. She is an active and curious girl, easily absorbing knowledge. Sorako, Yui, and Chino for the unit "memoria". Luna, Kaede, and Hikari form the unit "GARNET PARTY". Miyu, Tsukasa, and Yatsuha for the unit "Nachuraiku!". 9 people in all. These are the members of this small idol office. Though they are all in different units, close in age, a common theme runs through them. These girls are working for the future. Luna: Game... That's a good idea, but I don't think the Producer plays games. Tsukasa: Then an assortment of Hokuriku food! Yui: A book, maybe...? I wonder what the Producer's favourite things are, I just don't know. Sorako: Huh. I want to make it a special gift. Useful things are good, but I want to give something memorable. Miyu: Ahh, this is it! As for giving useful things... from yourself... this is a treasure! With a proud face, Miyu showed it to the cafe table. Luna: What is this, just a stone? Luna commented with an embarrassed expression. Miyu: Just a stone. A beautiful stone. After years of collecting stones when I was young, this one is the masterpiece. Luna: So it's not just a stone! Miyu: I feel like I would regret giving this away, though. But if it's for the Producer, I will suffer! Tsukasa: M-Miyu-san... After so many years of collecting... that is... what a precious stone! Miyu: The precious stone from my heart! Miyu almost always acts like this. Luna: My head hurts... Sorako: W-well then, I think I want to give a treasure too! Sorako digs around in her bag. Sorako: How about this? She pulled out a metal mini car. Sorako: It is a car I got from a gacha! It's a premier edition, so it's lucky! It's very cute. The Producer liked cars, so Sorako made a good choice. Yui: Why was that in your bag, Sorako...? Luna: A stone, a mini car, nobody understands. Are you even thinking about it? What would an idol Producer want more than the charms of the head idol? For example, the new signature of Luna! With that, Luna took the signature board out from her bag. Luna is very serious. She is overwhelmed by the nature of an idol. Miyu: W-well, it's for a birthday... Shouldn't that be for something more 'private'...? ..... The room has gone quiet. Miyu: With such a special stone, I'd be happy for it to be the gift. Yui: Well, you'd buy cake, candy, a handkerchief, etc.... normally. Yui's opinion comes out in a small voice. Hikari puts her hands on her shoulder. Hikari: Yui-chan. You may as well give up. Ordinary gifts aren't enough... Yui: Just as I thought... Luna: Haneda! Stop sleeping! Chino: Sigh. Because it's taking too long, I won't decide at all. Nobody's opinions match up, each with a different present set in their hearts. Chino: Since we can't decide, why not give gifts by unit instead of as one? Chino's suggestion was the missing piece. Luna's body trembled with shock. Luna: T-that's it! That's good! This is great. I have always wondered "what is the best unit in the office?". --This is our chance to find out. Whoever makes the Producer happiest is the top unit of the office! Miyu: U-uh. I don't think so. Luna: This is fiery.... A unit opposition, a gift battle. Let's do it. Kaede: It seems the purpose has changed. Hikari: Wait a minute, Luna-chan. What is the gift from us, that signature? Luna: Let's go, Kaede, Hikari. We must show the true value of GARNET PARTY! Hikari's voice could not break through to the fired up Luna. GARNET PARTY-- Luna, Hikari, Kaede, the three unit members. Mental barriers, national identity, Nairo Quintana, and other ramble epically long random dramas

Probably with the lack of existence of a competitive ciclying fandom on tumblr, who can spam me of posts when Giro D’Italia or (especially) Le Tour (and in case of it having, I highly doubt to find someone who likes a fucking load Quintana and is not a Colombian, or Cal Banana Crutchlow who I think he likes everybody, or the random French citizen who married a Colombian woman and now he became a plot twist), probably nobody will understand my drama. But I have no regrets.

There are only six Colombian citizens I’ve ever drawn:

1. Me 2. A former friend who sadly was one of most stupid, negative and pretentious people I ever met in my life, and who I cut bounds with in 2010 3. A friend who actually works in fashion journalism and is fucking intelligent and cool 4. Another friend who is major in Psychology, intelligent and kind, and if it was not because she does not use Tumblr anymore, she would be the only person of Nairo Quintana fandom in Tumblr 5. Yonny Hernández, the first Colombian on going to MotoGP (2012-2016) and who will go back to Moto2 this year, and strangely, I like him because he gave me a funny advice without even asking him: “Don’t worry so much”... and the guy is not even known at all not even in Colombia XD 6. Nairo Quintana, one of most interesting people of international competitive ciclying. 2014 winner of Giro D’Italia and 2016 winner of Vuelta a España, among other things. And the reason of the text I am writing:

It’s truth I speak openly I am from Colombia. And also that I am from the Triple Border Peru-Colombia-Brazil from Amazon Forest. Most exactly from the most southeast city of Colombia, Leticia. But this does not mean necessarily I am that comfortable with being from this country. I am not particularly comfortable with my “national identity”. I even sometimes feel more comfortable with being from Amazon area rather than to be from this country because the way the Colombian of the big cities is so mean with the ones of little towns. And for average Colombian of big city, the ones who shaped the conception of being from this country, the identities of Amazonia region are... honestly, a “zero on the left”.

To be from Colombian Amazon shaped some things. The most relevant on here, t’s that It shaped my relationship with the people of the “interior”, where is most concentrated the power. It also shaped how much I dislike the attitude of average Colombians of being so self-centered and thinking everything is like on here.

And in motorsports, as a fandom who shaped most of who I am, it shaped several things, who affect also how I see any sport. Colombia has no motorsports tradition. The only properly succesful person on this is Juan Pablo Montoya, and for most Colombian people, his time in F1 was a “fluke”. He became just an anecdote and someone like a Takuma Sato for most people internationally. Only on Champcar (1999 champion) and Indycar he is really loved. This, in United States. I owe JPM to follow F1. I knew this thanks to the F1-boom on here of 2001-2004. And most importantly: I owe him that I found someone who I would truly love because of being amazing no matter the part of the world: Ayrton Senna. It’s highly known Montoya was a Senna fan. I knew about Senna because an old cheap journal talked about him, about how he was the idol of Montoya and about, of course, the epicfail shit of Imola 94. Of course the way I am a fan of Senna ended up shaped by my regional identity (because of my close contact due knowing Portuguese with how Brazilian people sees him) and the tensions it has with other things of me.

But...

The fluke of Montoya and the way he was dumped of McLaren in 2006 was one of reasons who shaped a thing of me: I became cold like ice with my fellows because I don’t like to get disappointed. In fact it’s one of reasons I see so badly that in Spain Fernando Alonso became so loved and some idiots because of it began to hate Sebastian Vettel or Lewis Hamilton. It’s the same insulting narrative for what Brazilian fans of Ayrton Senna who do not even care really about F1 are so jerks with Alain Prost or Michael Schumacher. But at least Alonso or Senna were/are succesful. Very succesful, with titles and all. At least Alonso, before of fluke, got two titles. Montoya... nope.

The most popular sport in Colombia, is football. In detriment of other sports. But Colombian football players have it hard for get in the same leagues of Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina in levels of tradition and recognizement inside Latin America. And with exception of some cases, rarely become recognized on international football. If you are a foreigner fan of Real Madrid, you will laugh, but here the national media is doing a fucking drama, a fucking soap opera over the situation of James Rodriguez and putting him as a victim of Zidane. But I have the feeling that nobody cares about him really, and some merengues see his contratation as part of the bad habit of the team of contract loads of people for later let them dumped. I saw it coming.

Time learned me something hard and dark: Nobody, regarding pop culture, nobody cares outside Colombia, of Colombian issues. Sad, cruel, but truth. I learned Shakira is seen as “another random pop celeb” (She is seen in Colombia or as a goddess or as a “betrayer” due her tendence to adopt the accents of her romantic partners of other countries. And I was a fan of her). And when my fellows in sport become succesful, if it’s a famous sport, they do not get international fandom.

The 90% of the hype with the gold medals of Mariana Pajón in BMX were from.... Colombians. Ibargüen in triple jump on Rio 2016? COLOMBIAN HYPE ALL TIME. And I do not trust my own fellows even with deserved, objective success. I do not trust my fellows, I do not even trust myself. I hate to feel “Colombian bias”. For me it’s bad, and stupid.

I feel so sad. I see guys of other countries getting fans of all the world. I see Messi, I see the Ronaldo’s, Romário, Neymar, having fans of everywhere. I see in motorsports how everybody has fans everywhere regardless of from where the person is. I can see it in F1. Even the most loser ones (except Haryanto XD, Indonesia is a similar case like Colombia). Even fucking Takuma Sato has international fans, not only in Japan. MotoGP? Despite of the pathetic overpatriotic attitude of some Spaniards with their own fellows (let’s be honest: The only Spaniards who are internationally famous are Márquez, Lorenzo, Pedrosa, Viñales, Pol Espargaró, and... maybe the leader of the commitee of homage to deceased riders, JULITOOOOO SIMÓN), I can see how many people has fans of everywhere. When Ranka-san drew Yonny Hernández, I admit I felt warm in my heart and I wanted to cry. I could not imagine he would get a birthday drawing of someone who is not Colombian. And so well done.

I went used to unrecognizement and disappointment and I saw it as normal. “Colombia is not a cool country. We do not care to anybody, and it does not help at all how attention seekers and self-centered are some of us”.

It reflected the most when I saw first time a prize award ceremony of Tour De France, in 2013. It was the debut attempt of Nairo Quintana. I was reading twistah at same time. He got second general place, and mountain winner of that year, and best rookie. I felt sad with the discrepance of the idiocies of Colombian media, putting the situation as if everybody on ALL THE FUCKING WORLD was happy with him... and what I was seeing on twistah, especially speakers of anything but Spanish Language. Everybody noticed more Froome (of course) and Sagan. This was a nasty eye-opener. People only cared for Nairo because he was from Colombia. I felt angry. And sad. And more distrustful of liking my fellows. As if it will never work. I even fear to support my fellows for later seeing disappointment and seeing “things will be always the same”. And blaming myself for softening my rules.

Call it exitism, or hating for my own country. Or an obsessive hiperrationality that gets exaggerated when identity issues are coming along.

Then, Quintana gets the Giro in 2014. It was first time I felt: “Wow, maybe Quintana will become something greater and someone who will truly be worldwide recognized and loved and spammed and fandomed and memeable by everybody”. And some time later, in 2015, I saw the precious video of the “plot twist” of the French guy who went to meet Quintana, with even a shirt of Colombian Football National Team (!!), and a Colombian flag around (!!!!), tried to talk him with a funny Spanish and get his sign and tell him he named his son after Nairo. I only felt that French guy was not that impressive anymore when he said “My wife is Colombian”. The “plot twist” comment I did was because I never expect people of Europe liking my fellows.

And in my country happened a FUCKING LOT OF HYPE after of the Vuelta a España. And look that now a generation of badasses coming from our piece of Andes mountain chain (where Quintana is da boss) is coming all around. Urán, Pantano (who I heard via radio, with my beloved father, his first victory on Tour De France in 2016), Dayer the lil bro of Nairo, Chaves, Aacona (the glasses guy)... but this was another level of ohmaifuckinggods. And even me I can feel the dimensions of this.

I will tell you something: Ciclying had been historically, more relevant of the construction of the idea of contemporary Colombian than football. Everybody, even me (this is not my fandom), know a lil bit of it. I even heard something: “the real national sport of Colombia is ciclying”, and with the flow of time, I believe it more. We have our own thing of national going for all country competence, the Vuelta a Colombia. Since 50s. Ciclying is followed for loads of people in all the country thanks to radio. Of all the ages and social positions. Especially in rural areas.

Do you know from where come Quintana brothers? Boyacá, in the central area of Colombia, from where come my father and all my late grandparents with exception of mother-side grandpa. There are a good load of mountains due Andes. Most cities are in high areas. It’s cold, fucking cold (Tunja makes look the weather of Bogotá like a joke). And they are fucking hard. And guess what, most rural people had used bicycle as transportation. Everyday, to school or for working. Everybody. Of course in case of the ones who become competitive, maybe there are differential of initial talent and of course getting better training conditions, but for begin with, to get the Andes is so normal for so many.

And, I wanted to draw Quintana for years since that 2013. But the feeling of that maybe I would fail with my feelings stopped me. I had fear of expose my feelings and ideas about this. Like “come on Kanaru, this is not your fandom” or “people will point to you one day”. I have no credibility. I will be so easy of point out as following a trend or being biased, he same way I am so harsh with everybody and especially with myself. I began to attempt drawings of him, portraits, sketches, but it was so hard. I felt ashamed and guilty initially. But secretely I read stuff about him. He happened to be impressive, cool and interesting, for real. And, an authentic icy who can keep calm no matter what. To the point of that I believe the reason Nairo, such a serious and icy guy, has in my country too many overhyped, cheesy fans, is because of Universal Balance.

The drawing was so simple in colouring, and shapes. I could get cool on getting a proper expression on him. But I think that’s not the most important. I think the interesting was.. it was I could draw him. Get the perfect expression, the cool aura. Making him recognizable. It was the thing I could break off in my mind. An art block I carried from mid 2016. Some insecurities, and worries.

Probably it’s his success who also is helping me to get the best of me. Getting some impossible and unexpected things. Or maybe that it is getting too tiresome the excessive control I put on myself.

I suspect this fanart affected me. In a way, Nairo Quintana did “plot twist” me. And probably to a lot of people. He already caused me a strange effect I tried to negate for these three years and a half. Now I find myself complaining on twistah because I could not send him a proper Birthday message with this drawing. He had a hashtag and I did nor know until now.

I feel that the fact I did draw him twisted me even more. The last time I felt so twisted was in early 2009, when I decided to draw properly and in computer to Ayrton Senna for very first time. (Actually it was mixed between handmade and computer who did not look very well, especially because I had no tablet at the time). It was an illustration for a old story. Of course Quintana-san and Senna-san are very different people. Beginning with that Ayrton is not anymore on this world. And the dramas linked to them in my life are different.

But there is something in common: I’ve broke mental barriers and doing such drawings did something very strong in my brain.

Right no I am about to write Quintana-san. I hope to don’t be cheesy and mellow. Even though it means to ruin the equilibrium of the world. Now you know, if the world ends, it’s my fault for sending something cool to Quintana-san. LOL
