One completely untapped part of the Greco-Roman Riordanverse fandom, especially in fics that include the demigods getting technology is the amount of parodies of modern media Rick adds to his series, especially in TOA above all the others, and in the Senior Year Adventures.

In Wrath of the Triple Goddess, the show The Great Witch's Brew Off (a parody of The Great British Bake Off of course), is mentioned, so for the last two months I've been thinking of shows that could air on HephaestusTV. (Note, while I just reread TOA, I have a bad memory, and I know for a fact there are parody medias in that series, like I'm pretty sure there's an Instagod in TON, but there isn't a collective list and me a few months ago didn't think to write it down, something I regret already)

So, here's a list of six shows I believe have a chance of airing on HephaestusTV! I would love it if other people could make lists and add to it.

Disclaimer, I rarely watch reality TV, so some of these I haven't watched myself, and am basing my ideas off of my vague understanding of the plots. For that reason, my bolded explanations aren't in depth for any, to keep it consistant:

1) Dancing with the Gods (Dancing with the Stars) pros are probably nymphs, dryads, and satyrs

2) Keeping up the the Olympians (Keeping up with the Kardashians) note: I feel as though I've heard this before, but I don't remember where or why

3) Domain-ly Feud (Family Feud) instead of families, each team consists of gods/dieties with similar domains

4) Demigodly Ninja Warrior (American Ninja Warrior) Instead of Las Vegas, the final four stages are held in Olympus. Qualifiers are in CHB and Semis are in Camp Jupiter.

5) Say "Yes" to the Peplos (Say "Yes" to the Dress) a peplos is a garment worn by Ancient Greek woman, for those who didn't know.

6) The 100,000 ₯ Pyramid (The $100,000 Pyramid) note: I'm like 58% sure I used the symbol for drachma correctly, but if not, tell me

I'm working on a fic and was like 'how in the hell do you make LINGUANG JUN the least bit redeemable?'. I mean, /Linguang jun/ who tossed a developmentally four year old Mobei Jun to a pack of humans? The kid could have died. And then I saw a translation of the extras. It describes lgj as mbj's 'young uncle', says that he 'wasn't that much older than him (mbj)'. And I just- its a hell of a lot different, a Scar type tossing his nephew to the proverbial wolves than it is for a maybe dumb, maybe petty, maybe developmentally five or six year old to shove their annoying technically-nephew-who-in-age-and-context-is-more-like-a-brother-than-lgj's-actual-brother into a situation that the text implies was more frightening than actually /dangerous/. And that- well I can work with that.

Hi morgan!!! I love having excuses to talk about ballet, thank you so so much for asking :D

I think The Rite of Spring (original title: Le Sacre du Printemps) is definitely the most fitting. The music is by Igor Stravinsky and original choreography was by Vaslav Nijinsky, but his choreography has since been lost, so I'm going to link the Joffrey Ballet's recreation, with choreography by Millicent Hodson. It is set in prehistoric Russia, and is about the sacrifice of a young girl (referred to as The Chosen One) in order to bring about the spring. And well. I feel like that theme of being chosen for some sort of great honor that is actually incredibly horrifying is quite fitting for Val.

The whole ballet is only about 30 minutes, but the Chosen One is chosen at the 18:28 mark, and she begins to dance herself to death at about 24:20

I've noticed that a lot of people reference Swan Lake, when they do vallerina art, which I'd guess is probably because it's one of the tragic ballets that is firmly in the public conscious and there's that Black Swan movie, but you know what people are right for it! A person is forced into a shape that doesn't fit them, is made no longer human, and its full of drama and death. Odile has this charm to her that is so fitting for Val, and I think this variation works nicely to get that energy across:

However, even more fitting for Val, I think, is the The Dying Swan by Mikhail Fokine, set to Camille Saint-Saëns's Le Cygne from Le Carnaval des animaux. A swan song if ever there was one, a final bow for Val, trying to escape but not quite able to.

I think to close out my collection of ballet blancs I am legally obligated to also include Giselle (or, Les Wilis). A story about a girl who was wronged by her lover and dies, joining the ranks of all of the other undead women who were wronged by their lovers - the Wilis.

Paul Taylor's Esplanade I just think is fun, and the frantic vibes of it and the use of classical music are fitting for Val

For the life of me I cannot find a video of Septet by Merce Cunningham, but that uses Trois morceaux en form de poire by Erik Satie, so I associate it with Val because the music that plays when she talks about wanting to be a ballerina is another Satie piece.

Anyways! That's a lot, hopefully you enjoy them, and thank you again for asking!!! If nothing else I hope more people can come to appreciate Rite of Spring as a Val ballet, because out of everything I do think that is the Most fitting

Reference the videos if you need a visual aid for my notes. ✦ Team A: 1:33 clear. Hybrid build, Crit Rate to 40-50% and the rest into DMG to Weakened. First wave: - Regular resonance and 1 active skill. Second wave: - Basic attacks -> Fury resonance. - 1 parry outside of weakness. - A couple of charged attacks to heal up before hitting Fury resonance. Need as much HP here to maximize damage for the next part. - Fury resonance. No active skills. If things are looking good, you should be able to kill the golem just as weakness ends. Third wave: - Use active skill as soon as it spawns. If you can approximate where it spawns, you cap opt to charge your active skill for this. - 2 parries outside of weakness. The fire golem can punch pretty fast - watch out for that. - Once your HP is near full and you are at/ahead of 1:43 on the timer, use Fury resonance. Double active skill rotation. Use oath within weakness. - If it's still breathing after all that, beat it up until it dies. ✦ Team B: 1:32 clear. Crit build is crucial for the way I did this fight. First wave: - You need to kill 2 enemies in order to spawn and additional 2 enemies. - Once you're sure that you killed 2 enemies, circle back around to manual lock the newly-spawned shielded enemy as an anchor point for resonance. - The faster you can clear this, the better. My benchmark was 2:15-2:20 on the timer. Second wave: - Resonance when it spawns. DO NOT rush to shieldbreak. - When it generates a shield (white bar on enemy HP), keep attacking it until the shield depletes. Crits make this easier. - After its shield has been depleted, and you have 3-4 bars of Potential (under your HP bar), use resonance to shieldbreak. - During weakness, hold off on using support skill until the very end. You wanna time it so that Searing Slash fires off AFTER weakness ends, to delay the enemy from generating another shield right away, buying you just a bit more time to get some hits in to finish it off. ✦ Team C: Brute force 2/4. Crit build to take advantage of that sweet sweet Crit DMG buff fluctuation. 1:42 clear, but this was on a particularly lucky run, in most attempts I was closer to 1:30. Went low for this because I was curious just how much I could push it! You can go really low! This is a good opportunity to unlock the SHC SMS for an LI that you haven't cleared SHC with yet. I was so happy to use Pilot in this!! Even if he did die a lot. First and second wave: - For the first wave, tap on where the middle mob will show up and quickly use resonance. Targeting the middle mob ensures that resonance hits all enemies. - If resonance doesn't bring the Magma Knaves to the lower 1x HP or doesn't kill them outright, I reset the fight. - If the Magma Knaves still have a sliver of HP, ignore them. They will self-destruct or get killed by Pilot's explosions. - Active skill spam after this point. - Pick up HP at the end of each wave to improve survivability. Third wave: - Active skill spam. - Support skill to refresh the mark, but be careful that it doesn't put Caleb in a bad position. The damage is lethal. - When the camera zooms out and the boss has a red circle right underneath it, that's your cue that it's about to do the spinning attack. Active skill into the spin (BE BRAVE), if you have it up and still need to fill a big damage gap, but quickly dash out of the spin afterwards so you don't get knocked around. - Use oath, 1:34 at the latest, so that you can quickly hit resonance after oath to squeeze in a bit more damage.
