I usually write an ode to myself for my birthday (no matter if I share it or not) & this year isn’t any different. This past year I’ve been through so much loss — loss of love (both romantic & platonic) loss of old self (fears, anxieties, doubts, suppressed trauma) BUT I’m taking the steps to reverse allllla that and get realigned with myself again whilst growing comfortable with who I am & properly grieving all of the losses too, but through the loss I received some nice gains! NEW FRIENDS, new connections; I finally got into therapy (y’all know I’m living my whole life for it) + I’m doing things on my own terms and really speaking up for myself about shit I like and don’t like (keep in mind this shit is a work in progress so I don’t always have it 100% majority of the time) I’m giving myself permission to be messy, un-put together, full of mistakes & REAL- so here’s to another year (of) kissing boys (I can’t help that I’m a romantic 🙃), taking names and twerking all the way to happiness ✨
