Oh I just had a memory hit me.

I can probably pinpoint when Chris was officially done doing anything in public with Darren. Or at least social media wise.

Every year for the first couple Chris would wish Darren a happy bday. Chris said this to everyone -- this was back when Chris was using social media all the time.

Which - side tangent - if you weren't around for Chris using twitter liberally...oohh boy was that an interesting time. Chris is very professional and very measured about using social media now, but there was a time when he wasn't and just said whatever thought popped into his head.

Sometimes I miss those days.

Anyway... some time in Season 3 or 4? Chris tweeted Darren a happy birthday.

And then Jesse Tyler Ferguson - of Modern Family Fame - tweeted an addendum that said -- to my lover.

And Chris was done. He tweeted back - 'you're on my list' and that was it. That was pretty much the end of Chris socializing with Darren on social media.

I know years and years later - prompted by Naya - they both talked about Baby It's Cold Outside. And Chris, of course, reached out with condolences after Chuck passed. But I remember that was a huge thing to happen. Chris closed himself off a lot on social media after that.

1. I feel like Naya is getting funnier.  She’s been having good one-liners.  I can’t think of any particularly good ones but today she was like doing something w/ her face (using her fingers to pull down the skin around her eyes like a funny face).  And she was like “umma, what’s this called?” and I said I didn’t know.  She thinks about it a little bit and then goes “my eyeballs are dancing.” 

Today when I picked her up from school the first thing she said (with a big smile on her face) was, “everyone wanted to play with me today.”  But then right after she goes back to her usual script and says things like no one plays w/ me I have no friends (I have no idea why she does that).  Sometimes she is extra bad and likes to say things (out of nowhere) like “why did you hit me?” and i’m like DON’T SAY THAT!  Scary but also pretty funny just objectively.  This girl is going to put us in jail. but like ha ha, good one. [just for the record we have never hit naya.] 

2.  I finished the korean drama thirty-nine.  It was really good and I legit feel like I learned Korean. One word I learned from both The Glory and thirty-nine was 탄수화물 (carbs).  

3.  I am going to lose my mind over Naya’s birthday.  I can’t believe they occur every year and I am going to torture myself every year, 2x/year planning the girls’ birthdays.  I really don’t need to be worrying so much but I think I really just want to make them feel happy and loved and special on those days (cause I feel like my mom did that for me... that’s why I love celebrating my birthday lol).  I also suspect that I’ll only have another decade of this (which sounds long but its really just 10 times) because eventually they’ll want to do their own thing.

I made these in 2020 when I first heard about Naya's passing, but I didn't have this tumblr back then so never posted them here. It still doesn't seem real.

Happy birthday Naya <3 you'll never be forgotten

Nearly a week ago I published a gifset I’m really proud of and am happy has resonated with people. I started working on it on New Years Eve, just before going off to my end of year celebrations and worked every day towards that January 12 goal even as life got busy because I felt like this was the most fitting tribute I could give on a birthday that Naya herself sadly never got to see. While putting the pieces together, I thought it’d be interesting to document at least a slice of the process that took so long.

This video you see now is on times 64 speed so you can imagine how long some of these segments took in reality. By my calculation this is little over 4 hours of footage but the actual thing took about 3-4 times as much. It’s hard to say, really, but I will share that I listened to the audiobook of Naya’s autobiography while making this set, and could have probably done so twice or three times. The most important thing isn’t time, of course, I just wanted to share that piece of information, too.

In particular because listening to Naya talk about her life while trying to encapsulate some of it in the form of gifs was strangely yet understandably cathartic. I’ve listened to bits and pieces of the book before, when else if not in 2020 but I wanted to “save” the whole thing for later. Save it for what, people often asked me when I told them. The right time, I suppose. And sometimes, those right times just click, as was the case here. I couldn’t have chosen a better time to immerse myself in the book and Naya’s voice and a whole life being contained in so little. Though that second gif of her early career is not featured in the footage as that was the one I started with, I will say that I knew this was the only way to do this when giffing The Royal Family as she recalled her experience on set. Giffing this particular tribute and listening to the book, these two could only come hand in hand and how fitting it is that they did.

Anyway, the point of this post is really just to share, as a sort of fun fact and also as further catharsis, the behind the scenes of one of my most important sets. When I originally thought of the idea and envisioned the layout of her credits, I thought, nah, too complicated. But a voice in my head said that it was doable, that it deserved to be done and I’m glad I listened because even though you can’t capture the essence of a life, even a tragically short one in a gifset, I’m glad to have created this tribute. I have more thoughts on this set, as well as a first draft version of the very first one I started working on. And thoughts like the TV sets changing to reflect the passing of time or the attention to detail I tried to pay to every role, every small aspect. How the Glee gif especially just clicked. How the second gif background is her first TV interview and the fourth is, in a way, her last. But, I suppose, that’s enough yapping for now and I can always just come back to this later. For now, be safe and be cool.

Feyre and Rhys have to make yet another decision regarding their future. + Archeron sister bonding at the end of the chapter

Year Two

Feyre and Rhys continued to date in secret, though it probably wasn't that big of a secret anymore. She knew that at least Mor and Azriel were suspicious.

Feyre and Rhys talked everyday and even if it was almost the same as the year before it felt totally different.

All in all, life was really great for Feyre. She was happy. She was doing great in college, she made a lot of new friends that she hung out with at school and Mor and Feyre met a lot more. They also talked more together as a group, Feyre, Mor, Rhys, Azriel and Cassian. If it was them all playing some games until late in the night or just videochatting.

One weekend Feyre visited Mor at her college and they made the 3am decision to dye their hair. Mor dyed some strands of hair pink. Mor loved it but they were already faded, she told Feyre that she would totally dye them again. Feyre dyed two strands of her hair a dark purple. She wouldn't dye them again, not that they look bad but she just liked her natural hair.

They reached November and the temperatures were getting cold. Feyre was glad. Although she loved summer, autumn was her favorite season. She could finally cuddle into Rhys's sweater that she stole before he left to college again.

Feyre just ate dinner with Naya and Selene when Rhys called and told them that he couldn't make it home on his birthday because it was on a tuesday and he had a few exams that he had to write that week, but he would visit the following weekend.

His birthday arrived and Feyre just leaned against a wall and took her gloves off to call Rhys. It didn't take him long to pick up.

"Hello, Feyre darling." he said. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"It's your birthday, isn't it?" Feyre asked.

"It is." he said. "But you already congratulated me this morning."

"Oh, you already have enough of me, hm? Should I hang up again?" Feyre teased him.

"What? No! Don't you dare." He said.

Feyre giggled. "Okay, then tell me how your exam went."

"It was good. I hope. I have a good feeling." he said.

"That's good." Feyre said. "And what have you planned for the rest of the day? Moping alone in your room?"

"No!" he snorted. "I wanted to call you tonight."

"That's not necessary." Feyre said.

"What?" Rhys asked. "What does that mean?"

"Open the door and find out!" Feyre said.

"What-" Rhys began but Feyre already hung up. A few moments later Rhys opened his door and looked around until he found Feyre. She grinned and threw her arms up "Surprise!"

He still looked shocked when she threw her arms around him but he tugged Feyre closer and hugged her tightly. "How?"

"I took a flight." Feyre said. "I couldn't leave you alone on your birthday."

He laughed, still in shock. "That definitely is a surprise."

"A good one I hope."

"The best." he said as he backed up a bit. He took her face in his hands and kissed her. When they parted he smiled at Feyre and tugged her inside his room.

"Wow." Feyre said. "A room all for yourself, must be nice."

Rhys chuckled "I take it Ressina still tries new hobbies?"

Feyre smiled as she took off her coat. "She does. This week's obsession is soap making but luckily she does it at her girlfriends apartment and not in our tiny room."

Rhys grinned as he threw her coat on his desk chair. He put his arms around Feyres waist "I am happy you're here."

"Me too." she said. "I missed you."

He kissed her again, softly. Before Feyre could get lost int his moment she pulled back "You really wanted to do nothing on your birthday?"

"I told you, I wanted to call you." He said.

"That's all?" she asked.

"That's all." he said. "But now you are and I couldn't be happier."

For the rest of the day they just sat together and talked about everything. They cuddled and ordered food and watched a movie.

It was late evening when Feyre cuddled into Rhys, laying her head in the crook between his neck and shoulder." How are you feeling?"

"Full." he said. Feyre laughed. "I told you that the springroll is too much."

Rhys kissed her temple. "I should have listened to you, do you forgive me?"

"This time." she murmured.

He chucked as he tucked a strand of hair behind her hair. "I am also feeling very grateful for having you here with me. The day was perfect, couldn't have been better."

"Simp." Feyre said giggling. She knew that he was rolling his eyes without looking at him. "It couldn't have been better, hm?"

"Sounds like you're planning something." Rhys whispered in her ear.

"Maybe." she kissed his jaw. "It depends on you."

"Oh?" he asked.

Feyre shifted and found herself straddling Rhys. She smiled at him as she unbottoned her shirt. He sat up, holding her hand gently.

"Do you not want this?" she asked, lowering her hands.

"Do you?" Rhys asked. "Are you sure about this?"

"I am." she said, looking him in the eyes. "I was never so sure about anything." she smiled again. "What about you? Do you want this?"

He nodded and smiled at her. "Yes."

Feyre let out a breath that she didn't know she held and kissed him, deeply.

The rest of the week they spent every free minute together. When Rhys was in classes Feyre explored the campus and after Rhys showed he rhis favorite places. They spent the days exploring the campus and part of the city and the nights they kept exploring each other.

One day Rhys told her he had a surprise for her and gave her a small black box.

"I thought it's your birthday and not mine." she said.

"It was supposed to be your birthday present next month." Rhys said.

"And you couldn't wait?" Feyre teased him.

"No." he said. "Now open it."

Feyre did. Inside the box was a beautiful golden necklace with three overlapping circles. Her breath hitched "Rhys-"

"I saw you looking at a similar one a few months ago. I couldn't get the exact same but it's very close." he told her.

"That's too much." she whispered.

"Not for you, Feyre." he said. "Never for you."

Tears were dwelling in her eyes when she kissed his cheek. "Thank you." she said. "Can you-"

"Of course." he said, taking the necklace. Feyre held her hair as he put it on. She looked down at the necklace. "It's beautiful."

When the weekend arrived they both traveled back home together to celebrate Rhys's birthday with his family.

They all had a great time until they had to part again on monday. Tears were flowing but they all promised each other to come back for christmas.

The weeks go by and everything is perfect. Mor and Feyre still visited each other often, Feyre decided she wanted to start to work out and Cassian showed her some exercises she could do. She also went to the cinema with Mor and Azriel. Feyr ekpt the daily contact with Rhys and during the holidays they were inseperable. Though something changed mid january.

Rhys got kind of distant and everytime Feyre asked what's going on he said "Nothing." or he changed the topic.

Feyre just put away her phone after checking for a response the the 100th time that day when Ressina entered their room.

"Oh see, you're visiting me again. I thought you forgot about me." Feyre said.

Ressina rolled her eyes but smiled at her. "We just talked yesterday. How is it going with your painting, by the way? Did Mrs Polina tell you anything?"

Feyre shrugged her shoulders. She tried not to think much about it or she was about to go insane. Just the thought of her painting hanging in the Rainbows best gallery made Feyre almost explode with excitement, but nothing was sure yet. She didn't hear anything from her professor if the artist chooses her painting. "Not yet."

Ressina nodded. "If they don't use your painting, they're stupid." she twirled a black strand of her hair around her finger. "Don't look at me like that, I mean it. I saw the other paintings, yours is the best. Did I ever lie to you?"

"No, you didn't." Feyre said. "But you like to keep some information to yourself."

"Like?" Ressina asked.

"Who's your girlfriend?" Feyre asked.

Ressina grinned at Feyre and said "Actually, I wanted to ask you something."

Feyre rolled her eyes at the topic change. "What?" Feyre asked, playing with the necklace that Rhys gave her a few months ago.

"Do you want to get a coffee with me and mmmmmhhhh-" Feyre raised an eyebrow in anticipation. "My girlfriend!"

Feyre gasped. "You want me to meet her? Now?"

Ressina nodded. "She's already waiting."

Feyre jumped up, grabbing her keys and her wallet. "Yes! Let's go!"

"Wait, you have paint on your paints." Ressina said.

"And you have paint on your sleeve?" Feyre replied.

Ressina looked down at her sleeve, shrugged her shoulders and turned around. "Let's go, then!"

Feyre followed her to a sweet, little Café and Ressina went straight to a table. Soon enough Feyre spotted a familiar blonde.

After she greeted Ressina, Mor turned to Feyre, smiling. "Surprise!"

"That IS a surprise!" Feyre said, hugging her best friend. They all sat down and Feyre asked. "How? Since when?"

"Well..." Ressina said. "We started seeing each other like, a year ago?" she looked to Mor who nodded. "But officially we are partners since july."

Feyre smiled and took her friends hands. "I am so happy for you!"

"You are?" Mor asked, smiling at her.

Feyre nodded. "Of course! You deserve it, both of you."

They talked for two hours until they went back to their room. Feyre took a look at her phone. Still no answer.

At the beginning of february Feyre got the great news: her painting will hang in a gallery. Officially. For everyone to see.

Excited she called Rhys.

"Hello?" he answered.

"Rhys! It's me!" she said. "Guess what happened?"

"I don't know, what happened, Feyre?" he asked.

"My professor just called me and told me that my painting is going to hang in Velaris best gallery! That's huge, Rhys!" Feyre said, probably squealing at this point.

"Wow, congrats. That's exciting, Feyre." Rhys said, sounding nothing like he meant it.

Feyre stopped pacing around the room, Ressina threw her a asking glance.

"Are you okay?" Feyre asked.

"Yes, I am fine. I-" he sighed. "I am very excited for you, Feyre. But I have to go now, I have an important exam tomorrow and I have to learn."

"Oh." Feyre said. "I am sorry I didn't mean to bother you. Well, good luck for your exam."

"Thank you." he said. "I'll talk to you later."

"I love you." Feyre said.

"I love you, too." he said and hung up.

Feyre put her phone away and sat on her bed. Ressina came to her and took her hand. "Maybe he's stressed. It's huge Feyre, you can still be happy. That's your first step into your career."

Feyre smiled. "You're right. It's...I am so excited."

"As you should!" Ressina said.

More time passed until it was the end of March. Rhys was still distant to Feyre. She tried to not let it bother her, her painting hung now in the gallery and people complimented her style and her painting. She should be happy, she should be over the moon.

Rhys visited Naya a week before he was packed with exams. Feyre used a quiet day when Naya and Selene had to go shopping and got back home to talk to Rhys.

She found him in the garden, training by himself. "Rhys?" she asked, playing with her necklace.

He turned to her. "Feyre." he stopped exercising. "I wanted to see you later. I guess you were faster again." he smiled.

Feyre didn't return the smile. "Can we talk?"

"Of course." Rhys said.

They sat down on a bench and were silent for a few moments until Feyre asked "Did I do something wrong?"

"What? No! Of course not, Feyre. You're perfect." he said.

"Then why are you so cold towards me?" Feyre asked. Before he could deny it, Feyre added. "You barely call me, if we talk then because I called you. You barely answer me, you keep your answers so short and you don't even bother to answer your texts until I remind you to answer me."

"I am sorry." Rhys said. "Its-I am stressed. College is getting hectic now and I realized that I neglected schoolwork and my grades just got worse. I don't want to be cold towards you. I didn't want you to feel like this. It's just...a lot, right now."

"I am a lot?" Feyre asked.

"No, you know that's not what I mean!" Rhys said. "College right now is important, Feyre! It's not community College, I don't have the free time-" he stopped himself when he realise what he said. He sighed. "I don't mean community College is not important." he tried to take Feyres hand but she pulled it back, trying to half back her tears.

"You're right." Feyre said. He looked at her, shocked. "College is a lot right now and I am holding you back. That's what I was worried about, remember? I don't know why I even thought this could work."

"Feyre." Rhys said, silver lining his eyes. "Do you want to take a break? Please, don't. We can make it work. I promise."

"No, I don't want to take a break." Feyre replied. His shoulders sunk in relief. Feyre put her hands behind her neck and fumbled with the clasp of her necklace. When she got it she continued "I want to break up."

He whirled his head to her. "Feyre-" tears where rolling down his cheek.

Feyre wiped them away as she said. "I never doubted for a second that you are the right person for me, Rhysand." her own tears were rolling down her cheeks. "You know I love you, right?" he nodded. "And I know you love me but maybe that's not destined to be our path. At least not right now."

"I don't want to lose you." he said quietly.

Feyre took his hand, putting the necklace inside it. "You won't. I am still here and I am still your friend. You can call me anytime."

Feyre stood up and walked towards the door, shortly before she stopped and turned around again. Rhys was still sitting on the bench, staring at the necklace. "Rhys."

He looked at her.

"Keep studying. You have a goal, you want to take over your father's business. You know you can do that, you're the smartest person I know. Don't let anyone stand in your way, okay? Not me, not anyone, not your own doubts. Focus on your goal." Feyre said. She didn't wait for his answer or even a nod, she just turned around and left. She didn't have a plan where she was going until she realized the route. Sighing she wiped her tears away and went Nestas and Elains new apartment.

A little later she sat on their couch, Elain filling Feyres tea cup.

Nesta sat down beside her "What happened?"

Feyre shrugged. "Life."

Nesta sighed. "Please don't be cryptic."

Feyre smiled slightly. "You remember Rhysand?"

Elain looked up. Nesta nodded. "Yes, of course. Why?"

"We tried the relationship thing." Feyre said. Elain gasped.

"She cried, remember?" Nesta said to Elain, who cringed and sat down on Feyres other side.

"I didn't cry." Feyre said.

Nesta just threw her a look that told her she didn't believe that but gestured her to keep talking.

"We were great. You know? For about... A year and a half? Not even." Feyre took a deep breath, stopping the tears from flowing again and told them the whole story.

Elain held her hand while she told them and Nesta just sat there and listened until she finished.

"Do you want me to go over there? I can-" Nesta began but Feyre interrupted her.

"No, don't. Please. I just needed to get out of there and I can't go into my dorm right now. I don't want Ressina to ask endless questions and I don't want Mor to tell Mor, yet." Feyre.

"I would go to Rhysand." Nesta said.

"I know." Feyre replied. "Thank you."

"Do you want to sleep here?" Elain asked. "You can sleep on the couch. Don't worry, it's really comfortable."

"One night, then I will be gone." Feyre said.

"If you want." Elain said. "But the couch is yours whenever you need it."

Nesta nodded and squeezed Feyres hand.

Elain looked nervously between the window and Feyre until Feyre asked "What?"

"Hm?" Elain asked.

"You want to say something. Just say it."

Elains cheeks began blushing as she asked "Did you-" she cleared her throat and lowered her voice "Did you lose your virginity to him?"

"No." Feyre said. She could have sworn Nestas let out a relieved sigh before she took a sip of her tea.

"Okay, so you didn't sleep with him-" Elain said.

"No, I did." Feyre said.

Nesta spit out her drink. "What?!"

"Nesta, I'm twenty! When did you think I would start to have-"

"That's not why I am shocked!" Nesta interrupted her. Feyre stopped talking, surprised. "Does that mean you had your first time with Tamlin?"

"No!" Feyre said.

"Don't scare me like that." Nesta said, holding a hand over her heart. "I thought you slept with him."

"I did." Feyre said. Nestas face was shocked again. "But he wasn't my first time."

"Then who was?" Elain said, her voice still lowered as if she was scared someone could hear. "Was it Isaac Hale?"

"Oh, we did it too but my first time was with Cresseida Summer. We got close during our summer job at the pool and she invited me to hang out with her and you know. It happened." Feyre said.

Nestas mouth was open as she stared at Feyre. Suddenly Feyre felt really small, realizing what she just told them. She tried to backtrack "Cresseida and I were just-"

"I don't care about Cresseida!" Nesta said. "Isaac Hale? Where did you do it? In his barn?!"

Feyre just grinned at her sister who slapped her hand over her face in frustration. "God Feyre, you chose to worst guys to be with."

"Does that include Rhysand?" Feyre asked.

"Yes!"

"You know, Rhysand wasn't that bad. He was pretty good actually. He was very good." Feyre sighed remembering their nights together.

"Feyre." Elain laid her hands on Feyres knee. "Nesta didn't mean their performance. She meant their personality."

"Oh." Feyre said. "Rhysands isn't that bad, either. You just have to get to know him."

Nesta snorted. "I rather not, thanks."

Feyre chuckled.

They watched a movie together that evening and the next day Feyre was back in her dorm, like she told her sisters. She just told Ressina that Rhys and her broke up but she didn't tell her any details.

To stop herself from wallowing in self pity Feyre drowned herself in studying for oncoming exams and finishing art projects that lay around half finished. She answered some emails that came in because of her painting in the gallery. A month later she got an internship for that gallery for the next college year. She was so excited but Rhys was still missing in her life.

They didn't talk, not privately at least. Just through their family chat.

When they met at the end of the year they barely changed any words and it when it was just them two they stood together in awkward silence until someone joined them.

She barely spent the summer with Rhys or her friends, but she did a lot with her sisters. As much as she missed it to spend time with Mor and Cassian and Azriel, she was glad to spend time with Nesta and Elain. It was nice to tell each other of their lives and just getting closer again. That summer she realized how much she missed her sisters and how glad she is to have them finally back.

Right before Nayako was about to blow out the candle, Kokichi blows at the fire instead. "You know what this means, right? A Supreme Leader of evil helped you blow out the candle to make your wish come true. Which meeeeaaaaannnnnnssssss, you’re indebted to me forever!" The grinning imp caresses his index finger against the coating of the cake, decorated in birthday cake mochi circled around the top, and swiftly pokes Nayako’s nose. It is a common practice to sneakily grease the birthday individual’s nose with icing. By doing so, the sugar-coated nose will make the person too slippery for bad luck. At least, that’s the popular belief. Kokichi didn’t believe in something so silly, but he did it out of friendliness. Who knows? Regardless if she’s aware of that myth or not, the gesture alone was foolishly funny. Just his style.

"What luck you have, huh? Better have plenty of fun on your birthday today while it lasts. Starting tomorrow, my organization will be collecting money from you. If you don’t have enough ready, well… Prepare to pay with your life then~" Head bowing down now, purple eyes veeeeeery slowly look up beneath eyebrows during a suspenseful closeup. Voila! Instant creepy vibes! He plucks the candle away from the cake, before lightly brushing it against his widely-smiling lips; as if the waxed stick symbolized Nayako about to be eaten at the jaws of an immoral animal.

“Unless you open up my present for you in about mmmmm... 3 seconds max! Then I’ll spare you~” He lifts up his other hand to begin the countdown. “Ready? One...” If she began tearing through the gift wrap of the box, there would appear to be another gift wrap underneath it. Kokichi definitely planned for this scenario to happen just to watch her confusion. It’s cute when she looks like that. A personal treat for him ♡ There were enough gift wraps to fill up the whole 3 second mark. “THREE! Nishishi! Okay okay! I was just kidding! You’re my bestie, Naya-kins! I wouldn’t do something so heartless to you, but it sure is fun watching you I couldn’t help myself.���

He snickered and shook his head as he propped up folded hands for his chin to rest on; watching her finally open up the box with no more added gift wraps left on it. While idly playing with the candle tucked between his upper lip and nose, a friendly-looking Jack-in-the-box toy clown pops out from the box giggling and cute merry music playing at the same time. It’s gloved little hands holding out a custom-made musical note pin with a checkered design. A token of their friendship. Just like what she gave him on his birthday. Actually, speaking of, Kokichi was wearing her gift on his scarf. He hasn’t taken it off since that day.

A genuine grin is beaming on his youthful features and he finger guns in her direction with a wink. “Happy birthdaaaaayyyyyy~”

Naya would never say it aloud, but she was grateful for no eardrum rupturing surprises this year. She loved the surprise, but at the same time, she could how without something like that for the rest of her life.

This year is only a simple cake and candle, which is a little less than she was expecting from him, but it made her happy nonetheless. She was here with Kokichi, and that’s all that mattered. Before she could blow it out, though, Kokichi gets to it first, spewing about how she’s indebted to him now. It’s a lie, she knows this by now, but what’s the harm in playing along?

She’s quick to grab her present with a smile when Kokichi announces the time limit, her face quickly growing into one of frustrated confusion at only finding more gift wrap underneath the initial one. How did Kokichi have the attention span to do all this? She pouts playfully at him, only looking at him with a halfhearted glare as she finished unwrapping the present. Her expression softens into one of surprise when she pulls out the jack-in-the-box, giggling at the little pin in its hands.

“Kokichi…” He really did know how to give the best gifts. “You really are the sentimental type, aren’t you?”

Haylor is done, Harry is back in the UK, but Taylor shows up with a hickey anyway.  (Dianna is in LA at this time.)

Some time this month Taylor writes How You Get The Girl which is about obviously someone who comes back to get the girl.  She references “standing in the rain” and “a long six months.”  It’s hard to know if these details are more “fanfic” or actual autobiographical details.

This six months may actually refer to the end of bearding for a while (because it seems like Swiftgron did reunite in Paris in early October.)  Exactly six months after Taylor started dating Conor Kennedy would be January 25th, 2013.

As for the rain...

It rained twice in LA this month according to weather reports on the 21st and on the 23rd:

On the private tumblr on January 25th Dianna reblogs this:

It reads “i think we’re just gonna have to be secretly in love with each other and leave it at that...”

This is also the time period it is rumored that Dianna proposed to Taylor.  I’m not sure what to make of these rumors.  I have not been able to get anywhere near confirming them.  It’s entirely unsubstantiated - but I explored the rumor further in this blog post (click for link.)  And also on the podcast (will link just a bit down in this post because it relates to something else we’re about to discuss.)

February 9, 2013 - Neruda quote on Tumblr from Dianna

Dianna posts a quote to Tumblr.  The translation is, “I love you as certain dark things are loved, secretly, between the shadow and the soul.”

It’s worth noting that Taylor namechecked Neruda in the Red album booklet.

February 10, 2013 - The Grammys

Dianna wants to make sure everyone is watching:

She won for Safe and Sound:

And she performs her circus themed rendition of WANEGBT (where she mocks Harry Styles on stage making fun of his accent when she sings the “so he calls me up on the phone” part of the song even though this song was written before she was even with him.)

The only other time Dianna tweeted about the Grammys was when Glee was involved the year before.

February 14, 2013 - Achele breakfast and The Inside Source at Glee Tweet

According to a Facebook user Cory, Dianna, and Lea have breakfast this morning (or around this time):

Later that day Taylor posts the infamous tweet:

The Glee Episode “I Do” airs and there is no Taylor song included.  However Dianna and Naya’s characters hook up:

After the episode airs Taylor deletes her tweet.

As always I’m not entirely sure what to make of this but to me it boils down to three possibilities:

1.  The fandom seems to think this proves that Dianna purposefully tricked Taylor into watching her “hook up” with Naya on screen.  It’s completely possible that that’s the case but I think the next two options make a bit more sense.

2.  It was a simple misunderstanding or a joke gone wrong.  Taylor had a song earlier on that season of glee (Mine sung as a breakup song by Naya) and I have been told another song of Taylor’s was marketed for another glee episode later that spring.  Perhaps someone got their wires crossed and misinformed Taylor.  

3.  Other nefarious parties:  

a.  It’s possible that Lea was behind this - she publicly had beef with Taylor at one point and she had been with Dianna that morning.  Maybe she met up with DIanna, heard about Swiftgron being happy and back together and got a little jealous and decided to prank Taylor.  

b.  Ryan Murphy also seemed to despise both Dianna and Taylor around this time.  He was also famous for stirring up drama with Gleeks on twitter and generally sewing discontent (particularly surrounding wlw ships and fans).  Ryan seems to have a problem with women/lesbians in general.  He treated Brittana as a couple horribly on Glee as well as their shippers.

He very publicly shaded Taylor in season one of Scream Queens and said in an interview that Dianna ruined Quinn for him because he said she made her sympathetic. 

Not only that but in season 3 he destroyed her character - he made her have a mental breakdown - he had her try and steal a baby - he had her get hit by a car - and a huge plotline in season 3 was Quinn begging Rachel (Lea’s character so Dianna’s irl ex) not to marry Finn (played by Cory - literally the guy Lea chose Dianna over - this is like...emotionally abusive if you ask me.)  After season 3 Dianna only appeared in 8 episodes of the remaining 55 after being in every episode and the top third billed of the cast in the first three seasons.

Furthermore in a show called The New Normal there was a bitchy actress character named Brynn who he wrote as high maintenance and unpleasant and then killed off.

So yeah...seems fair to at least consider that Ryan or Lea who publicly had problems with both Taylor and Dianna may have been trying to create problems for Swiftgron.  One last note about Lea - there was not a single Achele interaction for the entire year of 2013.  The most we got was Dianna liking a tweet about Lea’s album in December 2013 and when asked about one another in interviews they would vaguely say they were still friends.  No tweets to one another, no birthday messages, no candids, no hang outs.  Lea’s book was also written around this time and does not make a single mention of Dianna - her former roommate and “best friend” even though she spends plenty of time talking about others on the Glee cast.

While I’m not entirely sure Dianna had anything to do with this tweet Taylor references this date (2-14-13) by putting it on a dollar bill as a serial number in The Man music video:

At any rate Taylor deletes the tweet and replaces it with one about her dancers:

Dianna tweets 9 hearts that day (I don’t know if that’s significant but if they were together from March 2012 to July 2012 and then October 2012 to this point it would mean 9 months together...)

Taylor listed this as a quote to live by in an interview with Marie Claire a few months later.

I’m not sure if it’s important but Dianna is very quiet this winter and spring in terms of showing up at events, parties, even being papped out on the street compared to other years around this time.  She seems to disappear a bit.

About the Red Tour - the last act of the tour seems to be circus themed which may have been inspired by Dianna’s 26th birthday the previous year and really interestingly Taylor has a white rabbit, which is a reference to Alice in Wonderland (Dianna’s favorite piece of media ever) follows Taylor around stage during the WANEGBT performance as she’s dressed up like a circus ringleader:

March 18, 2013 - Dianna goes on a Girls HBO rant (we know who also loved Girls the show and its creator Lena Dunham (Taylor))

End of March - Lena and Ashley show up at the Red Tour backstage

Conclusion - Swiftgron is on but completely underground.  Dianna is blogging and tweeting romantic things about missing girls, Taylor’s interests, and secret love, all while watching Taylor perform at the Grammys and encouraging others to tune in.  Something weird happened with the inside source at Glee tweet but who knows what.  Dianna seems a bit restless and emo while Taylor leaves to go on tour.

as you all know, this blog does not think swiftgron is together (other than being friendly and on cordial or even close terms)  however we do think swiftgron is being referenced by kevin, her wikipedia, and that news video as part of a narrative.  we are not entirely sure what that narrative is but we have two very specific ideas.  if you hang around the blog or discord you probably know what our two theories are.  we are not comfortable blogging them publicly right now.

Going for 3 years in a row. I got the Counsil of Marks working on Esper and you also being on Bant and Naya design teams but still designing Unearth for Grixis Is there anymore trivia on Alara, its Shards or is cards for my birthday so that I may know everything there is to know about it?

Shards of Alara had more designers in its design team than any other set. This is because Bill liked to rotate through team members to get lots of fresh blood and the set have a mini-team for each shard.
