Guys random thought: Thanksgiving on Mount Olympus must be the most hectic ever

Dionysus says something about Ares and Aphrodite's relationship and Ares throws an axe at him Hermes makes a lighthearted joke about Apollo and Artemis mistakes him as being serious and turns him into a pincushion (Apollo's looking at his badass sister like "why did you just skewer my brother") Hera already does not want to be there and she's one "Thank you, lovely Ganymede" away from stabbing someone (Ganymede is miserably milling around the table filling everyone's cups cuz he has to bc it's his job) Demeter is glaring at Hades (Poseidon invited him because he's his brother and it would have been rude not to) and Persephone is sitting next to him looking back and forth at her mon and then at her husband Poseidon and Athena are kind of trying to calm everyone down Hephaestus is just silently eating, he does not wanna be a part of the family drama And Hestia is sitting under the table crying beside Hephaestus' legs because a) she doesn't want to get caught in the crossfire and b) he's the only one eating the meal she planned

my mom gets high for medical reasons every couple of weeks and she’s sooooo fun afterwards and so I always try to be over there for dinner that night and well tonight was that night but in addition to ordering Indian food and getting silly with it we had to plan our Thanksgiving day cooking and, I’m not joking, it took her two hours sitting down to prep the thyme for our stuffing and she kept dropping little thyme leaves in the dog’s ears. he’s gonna smell so good tomorrow

This just reminded me of the vulture fight in across the spiderverse and how gwen dealt with the situation by. Tying up the cops outside before they realized what's going on and going in herself. Because

1. She knows she can do the job better

2. The cops hate her and WILL get in her way and cause problems that just put more people in danger

3. Because working with the police, and her dad, makes it both more likely her identity will be revealed and more likely that he and other cops and civilians will get hurt somehow

And obviously while the spiderverse movies are still like overall pro cop overall I feel like they at least get the dynamic a bit more correct. Spiderman is going to do whatever they want to help people, often involving tying up cops, and they really hate this. There's a general hostility between cops as a group and spiderman as a figure, though there are exceptions for individual reliable officers.

Also I feel like just generally in the ps4 game spiderman likes working with cops. Whereas in the spiderverse movies, specifically Miles world I guess, spiderman is ambivalent to cops but they are portrayed as human, and as such unable to resist the charm of spiderman just like everyone except JJJ or something
