I have literally typed this ask up like three different times because I was thinking it was gonna be a bother, but I'm finally just gonna send it to say "screw social anxiety!" 😂
I've been telling everyone with ears that after months of applying and getting nothing back, I finally found a job! AND it's a work from home job too, so it fits my needs perfectly. I start on Thursday! I'm just so excited about it, I've been sharing the news with everyone, and I wanted to share with you too since sharing my life is kinda my thing here 😅
In other news, I sooooo badly wanna join your collab, I'm just trying to brainstorm an idea. I've got so many half-baked kny fics in my drafts, and twice as many more ideas up in my head. Once I settle on something I'll be sure to let you know asap!! Right now my brain's only giving me the Shinazugawa brothers, because of course it'd be them 😂
Stardew Valley 1.6 is finally coming to console in a month (i think Nov 4th or 6th?) and so I'm trying to finally finish perfection on my most advanced file, before the update comes and I have to scramble to get all the new stuff. I'm at ~89% right now? The last things I need are the golden clock, 100% great friends, and all the golden walnuts. I have 123/130, I'm trying to use a guide to find the last 7 but ngl I don't remember which ones I have and which ones I don't. Hassle 🫠

I looove Stardew Valley's 1.6 update, but JEEZ I'm TERRIBLE at finding/obtaining golden walnuts. 🤪 I have like, <5 lmao. I've tried to follow guides too, and been essentially unsuccessful. 🥴 My most advanced farm (Sebastian) is in very early endgame (lacking: bottom of Skull Cavern, significant progress on Ginger Island, and Movie Theater); my 2nd farm (Sam) is solidly in midgame (almost done w/ Community Center); and my 3rd farm (Haley or Penny) is in Summer of Year 1. I eventually want to have 1 of each type of farm. 🤠

Hard to believe that my youngest baby boy's birthday is today! 👦🎂 After graduating with honors in Finance he has been working at a stock brokerage firm, but things weren't always that smooth. He was 3 weeks overdue and clearly, at least at the time, a real momma's boy! Back in the day if he were born before noon his mother would have 24 hours in the hospital.🏥 Born after Noon? you get 48 hours of stay. 🩺 So my friendly lady OB/Gyn who lives in my hood, slowed down the Pitocin drip💉and he was born at 1:41pm. Funny those things that stick in your head. Also, Happy Solar Eclipse ya'll! On October 2nd the moon will pass in front of the Sun casting a shadow across the Earth called the "ring of fire" 🔥 (seen in Southern Hemisphere) - read more here. And YES we're fine after the Hurricane in Florida 🌀 and appreciate all the inquiries! Only minor power outage issues for our team, but so many others are going through much worse and they have our prayers during the recovery. 🙏 Everyone has a story and each as unique as their life path. Know that every day is a chance to rewrite ✍️ the screenplay of your life! 🎥🍿 We have to come to terms with the fact that we are light beings and more spiritual and powerful than we could ever imagine. Hard to believe that my youngest baby boy's birthday is today! 👦🎂 After graduating with honors in Finance he has been working at a stock brokerage firm, but things weren't always that smooth. He was 3 weeks overdue and clearly, at least at the time, a real momma's boy! Back in the day if he were born before noon his mother would have 24 hours in the hospital.🏥 Born after Noon? you get 48 hours of stay. 🩺 So my friendly lady OB/Gyn who lives in my hood, slowed down the Pitocin drip💉and he was born at 1:41pm. Funny those things that stick in your head. Also, Happy Solar Eclipse ya'll! On October 2nd the moon will pass in front of the Sun casting a shadow across the Earth called the "ring of fire" 🔥 (seen in Southern Hemisphere) - read more here. And YES we're fine after the Hurricane in Florida 🌀 and appreciate all the inquiries! Only minor power outage issues for our team, but so many others are going through much worse and they have our prayers during the recovery. 🙏 Everyone has a story and each as unique as their life path. Know that every day is a chance to rewrite ✍️ the screenplay of your life! 🎥🍿 We have to come to terms with the fact that we are light beings and more spiritual and powerful than we could ever imagine. Dianxia's birthday calculation💐

So I had a realisation about dianxia's birthday
In this essay I will attempt to convince you that our dianxia had the worst birthday ever in the history of worst birthdays —ever™
As history lover, I'd like to point out first - that for ancient China, or really, any pre-modern countries, birthdays weren't celebrated the way we do today, annually. → For China, birthdays then were probably more focused on only the 1st, 10th, 60th and 70th. — So this probably isn't that tragic of a realisation from tgcf's characters' pov – but it would be to us (and perhaps hc) — Besides, they did have a Gilded Banquet for lqq's 17th so maybe royalties would care – and hence:
So, was just thinking about how Xie Lian's been passing his birthdays for all those 800 years..
I mean, for a prince like him, as a child there must have been grand feasts; then, at Mt Taicang in his training years, he still mustve received some regards or respects or gifts from his peers and family, congratulating him on his birthdays But after his 2nd banishment (post-Book 4), xl was by himself, alone. Nevermind not having any feasts or gifts, there was no one to wish him "happy birthday".
No Feng Xin, no Mu Qing, no father, no mother.
And from then, for eight hundred years, he probably didn't and couldn't do anything for his birthdays (for himself). Just busy collecting scraps, alone, like any other day.
Then, what about his 1st banishment? (during book 4) When fx, mq, and his parents were still with him?
xl was banished "a few months" before winter (winter began when he first tried robbing)
When he ascended the 2nd time, it was still winter too.
→ So, with his birthday in summer, xl didn't celebrate a birthday during those last months when he still had fx, mq and his parents. So whew.
→ but that also means: the first birthday he passes without his kingdom, the first birthday he passes since XianLe fell from his mistakes, was during his 2nd banishment (post-book 4) — a time when everyone (including wuming) had all left him, when xl had become truly alone.
The first time spending his birthday in a world without his parents, without fx and/or mq beside him, without a XianLe. Maybe that one day, for just that once, the nagging awareness that he was alone finally crept up to him. That all that was once there with him on his birthdays - were gone now. And each absence was because of him too.

Now, that was about the first birthday he has after XianLe fell.
What about the last birthday he had before XianLe fell?
→ It would've happened before his 1st banishment, during the ending phases of Yong'an's rebellion — but I'm going to narrow it down. And dare I deduce, xl likely had a birthday happening during the worsts of the chaos:
→ Before XianLe fell:
So, xl's 1st banishment was "a few months" before winter. Say 'a few' means 3~4. China's winter begins Nov~Dec. = "a few months" before = Aug~Sept
XL was banished in Aug~Sept
Still not July 15. So, what was happening much earlier during summer, before his banishment? — the pagoda collapsing, and then thereafter, there were still those battles xl joined, shaking in fear and unable to fight well
Though the time between [pagoda falling] and [banishment] is not specified, those battles that he joined in between those events likely meant several days~some weeks. (( 'several' being 7~8 and 'some' being 4~6, aight?))
So [Aug~Sept banishment] - [some weeks] = end-July ~ mid-Aug
Pagoda collapsed between end-July / mid-Aug
Now, adding that xl held up that pagoda for several days, it means there are two conclusions:
The pagoda dropped around end-July → xl passed his birthday around/within the days he held that building under the hot scorching sun
The pagoda dropped mid-Aug, aka xl started holding it up around start-Aug → his birthday, July 15, was not spent during this pagoda-holding time. So whew. . . . But, July 15 being 'half a month' before, around 'half a month' before was also when the disease started.
And tbh, I'm more inclined to believe (1); because if we went even more specific (aka overanalysing), through the novel's diction, we get this detail:
Throughout Book 2, "in his twenty years of life" was used a lot, describing xl's age.
After the pagoda fell, however, on the battlefield, he was described as "barely past twenty", so you could say he's turned 21 by then, perhaps even newly turned 21 ( and ofc, he did pass his 21st bday at most before the pagoda fell )
So, when was the last time xl was just "twenty"? — —that one day when he, for the first time ever, was stabbed on a battlefield (by Lang Ying); when he cut off that man's leg; and that same day when he started holding up the pagoda.
An awful day brimmed with misfortunes.
So, possibly, in between that [awful day] —then through the days he held up that pagoda, passing out under the hot sun, including the day he cried out his little "save me"— and finally [the pagoda falling and xl thereafter suffocatingly fighting on the battlefield with evergrowing fear of failure],
xl passed a birthday on one of these days.

There were quite a few other clues too; like when his parents came meeting him with torn looks as he was holding up the pagoda — perhaps one of those visiting days was xl's birthday
xl was turning 21 but all he wanted to do was turn back into a 10-year-old child and cry
One last thought:
what if: that last day —before the patients swarmed xl, before he couldn't hold the up pagoda anymore— he received a white flower, didn't he?
Was that day xl's 21st birthday...?
hua hua's first birthday present to xl...?
if so, then now, 800 years later and reuniting, hc's finally giving his dianxia flowers for his birthday again.

I literally made my nemesis/bully repeat his Sr. year over. - LONG, but worth it!
I grew up in a solid working class town without a lot of wealth in it. The very few wealthy people worked in a bigger city 25 or so miles down the road, and mostly sent there kids to private schools in that town. However, we certainly mingled and played with the kids during the summers, etc.. Football is king in my part of the country. Our high school programs play in front of thousands, it is table talk year around, and youth football starts as early as 6 years old. We played in backyards, schools, ALL the time.
I always had a football in my hand and was generally a highly regarded player in my neighborhood. However, there was one kid who dominated us. His name is Mike M. the IV. Yes, he was the the "Fourth" He was one of the rich kids and he was seriously 6" taller, faster, and stronger, than the 8th grade boys while he was still in 6th grade. He went to the private school, so outside of neighborhood football, I only competed against him in track & field in the spring. But we saw him all the time and he was a piece of shit bully to all the kids. The "4th" was always talking down to the rest of us "poor pieces of shit", throwing our stuff into the creek near the field we played in. Anytime we had success against him he claim some piece of cheating, beat one of us up, or piss and moan and walk away. During the regional and state championships in middle school track, he beat me both years in the 100 and 200 meter runs. We finished 1st and 2nd at every meet.
Once we moved to high school, football ramped up big time. Now we were prepping to play HS ball for our school and our town. We all assumed Mike was going to continue to play at the private school he had attended. Much to our dismay, there was Mike in full pads on our first day of football practice our freshman year. It was then that I found out why Mike was so much bigger/better for his grade level. Mike was pretty old for being a freshman. He had an October birthday while mine November. Not much older you say, except the cutoff for starting kindergarten was Sept. 30. We had both missed that cutoff when we were little, except my parents enrolled me anyway. My birthday was Nov. of '84 while Mike's was Oct. of '83.....so I thought. We also found out Mike had failed 3rd grade at his private school and had to repeat. His birthday was actually in '82. He was 25 months older than me and we are competing at the same grade level. No wonder he was so much bigger. That slightly worked against him because the catholic athletic league had rules about age limits in their high school sports, so Mikey had to go play with us poor kids at the public school in high school
Freshman year, Mike makes the varsity as a backup QB and I am relegated to Junior Varsity. His ego really stepped up then. He was a freshman playing varsity in a town where football is king. In addition, he got his Drivers License and a new Camaro. Also, he was the only rich kid at our school. I envied, yet hated him so much. He was always reminding us of our place in the social world and constanly making quips about having to walk, ride bikes, go to Goodwill, etc..
The next summer Mike spent at various football and speed camps. Us poor kids just played ball. Sophmore year comes and Mike is the starting QB, but I am his best wide receiver. Mike truly was a great passer, but his athletic superiority over the rest of us is diminishing as we start to mature. We both get All State honors, finished the season 13-2 while losing in the state semi-finals. Mike is starting to get noticed as a potential college QB. His head gets bigger. Junior year comes and Mike tries to become a team leader, but his arrogance and constant belittling wears everyone down. I am now a solid 6' 3" and looking Mike eye to eye, and faster. We both get All- State honors again, but we finish 7-4 with an early exit in the playoffs. Mike is furious about the horrible players he is surrounded by. I am also starting to get some recruiting letters.
Spring of that school year, our long time football coach becomes ill and chooses to retire. The school district brings in a new coach with an entirely different offense. No more drop back passing, but rather a primitive form of what we see today in American college football. A mobile QB with lots of options. Prior to the summer, the team met with our new coach and he laid this out to us with some suggestion on how we can utilize the summer to prepare for our Senior season. Mike was super pissed about this all because it didn't suit his style of play. His family tried to sue the catholic athletic league from his former private school about their policies so he could play there, but that didn't work out. His family then tried to move to another city to play in their school, but they had missed a deadline. He was stuck. He spent the summer traveling to various football camps around the region to raise his collegiate status. These camps are essentially a college tryout in front of college coaches. I spent the summer with a plan to finally fucking beat Mike and become the QB. I had talked this over with our coach and he told me the best QB will play in the fall. I worked in the same field of our youth the entire summer with various other players practicing the playbook we had been given. Mike was trying to improve his footwork, while the rest of us were learning the playbook.
Summer ends and we begin fall practice. This was the first time I had seen Mike all summer, and he shit a brick when the coach told us to separate into groups and I walked into the QB group. I was now the bigger, stronger, and faster one. I had been practicing all summer, and I was had done so with our teammates. Given his status as a 2 time all-stater at QB, he was granted the starting role, but it was obvious who was better on the field. I easily played the role of wide receiver, but maintained the backup QB role. I was not happy about it, but it changed after we lost our first game. Mike didn't comprehend the playbook so well, was horrible at his option reads, and generally sucked. Our second game started with Mike getting crushed by a sack and fumbling that lead to a touchdown for the other team. He was not injured at all, but the head coach insisted he sit out a series to recover. I took over as QB and NEVER gave it up. I was pretty iffy passing those first few games, but the game started to become easier for me. We rolled off 14 straight wins until losing in the state finals. I was All State at QB, and Mike was a benchwarmer. All of his recruiting dried up.
I accepted full scholarship to the university down the road and got to play in front of crowds of 100,000. I had moved back to wide receiver and had a pretty solid career there. I was no where near NFL talent, but got to travel to bowl games and was generally the hometown hero as the poor boy who went to the big school and played on ESPN. Many of my friends from college played on Sundays (read NFL) and pretty sure one of those will be wearing a yellow jacket as an inductee to the Hall of Fame. I think most of these things would have happened had I not wanted to beat Mike at QB, but Mike's life would surely be different.
While not playing dried up his major Division I offers, he still had plenty of interest from smaller colleges. This did not sit well with him. He decided to replay his Sr. year at a private school several states away. His family sent him to a private boarding school in Pennsylvania which had no age limitation rules, where I understand he was absolutely miserable. Here, he was the poor kid, and almost 20 years old at that.....in high school. From there, he went on to play Junior College football, and ended up walking on to the directional school in that same state. He never played there, and returned to our hometown to take over his daddies car dealership.
I stayed in the same town as my university as a financial planner for a mentor I had met in college. His grandson had competed against me throughout our younger years, he had followed my entire athletic journey, and he was very proud of the local boy. He was a big name in the community and had taken me under his wing when I first stepped onto campus. John stepped away from the business a few years back and left me with his entire life's work on the condition I have a position for his grandkids/great grandkids should they choose that line of work and have a college degree.
I am not entirely sure what happened to Mike? He sold the dealership, but his house had gone into foreclosure. He was married with kids, but they moved. I hope he was humbled enough to no longer be a piece of shit, but perhaps I'll never know. You'll always be a piece of shit to me.

During my flight, I had to calm myself several times; I could not breathe well and I was having this urge to bawl. I was already missing my family after spending two hours without them. Too aware that it will take a long time again before I feel them in flesh everyday.
In 2015, months after my graduation, I decided to unlock my chains and find myself alone in the rich city of Makati. It was in the hopes to support my family all by myself — weekly budget, pay rent, sibling’s allowance, electric and water bills, sibling’s tuition fees, etc. But back then, I was enjoying myself in my newly found freedom. I was excited with doing everything alone, happy spending my days in solitude.
Come 2020, pandemic hit. I decided to use the work from home setup as an opportunity to be with my family in the province. From Nov 23rd of 2020 to April 2nd of 2022. Two Christmas days. Two New Years. Two Valentine’s days.
495 days. Every single day, I told my mom I love her in person. Not a day that I did not hug her. And she did her best to make me feel loved, too. She would cook me meals, wash my clothes, serve me milk before I sleep, remind me to take my vitamins and get some heat from the sun, prepare snacks and chocolate drink while I was working, and make sure that I was comfortable. She worries when I overwork. She feels it right away when I am feeling sad. Just. The. Best. Person.
My sister, even though she was busy with school, always found time to be with me and confide with me. We watched some series and movies together, listened to podcasts, and talked about a LOT of things. She would cook for me when I was hungry, stop what she was doing when I wanted to share something with her. She would throw random compliments because I am that person with inferiority complex and in need of validation from time to time. And I would nag her. Ask her to be more understanding of everyone when I know that in a young age she has been through a lot.
The three of us. It should have been four. But our brother sucks and for now, he prefers being alone. Lol. I loved that we would all go to church on Sundays. I loved every meal with them. I loved talking with them about k-pop and k-dramas. I loved me and my sister being chided for being too political, but hear our mother listening and watching news about 2022 elections. I loved holding hands with them when we were outside home. I loved taking them out on a date. I loved seeing them smile.
I am aware that those days are not gone. We will do it again some time in the future.
495 days. I will not deny that this is an unfamiliar feeling of longing. 7 years ago, I was excited to be alone. Now, 2 days without them, I am still crying my heart out. Could not finish a playlist, a k-drama episode or a k-variety show. Crying. Bawling, when I could not handle it anymore.
