Wow, I can't believe it's been four years since the game that changed my life came out. Good god!

My love and passion for these silly little muppets and snack bugs has not and will not cease. No other game has ever left an impact on me the way Bugsnax did, and I will never forget it!

I've had commissioned @dragonsaltartales to do this beautifully-colored illustration based on @extrotheplushfurry's amazing concept of Angelic Lizbert and Eggabell. Here they are comforting my OC, Sam Sandefur, in these troubling times. I will say that this may be what happens at the end of my version of Bugsnax, as it's an all bittersweet piece.

I want to say thank you to Young Horses and the fans for keeping this amazing game alive, and helping me find a life worth living! And thank you @dragonsaltartales for this wonderful commission! I cannot help to think how grateful I am to be a part of a community like this! There is nothing special like it!

I can’t believe it’s been an entire year since Top Gun: Maverick took the world by storm and we were all living our best Top Gun Summer!

June 4th will mark one year since the first time that I saw TGM in theaters, which will always be special to me! I often wish that I could go back and experience watching this movie again for the first time—what a thrill that was! It will also mark one year since I decided to create this sideblog as a way to fangirl endlessly over the masterpiece I had just witnessed.

June 5th will mark one year since I posted my very first TGM ficlet—a silly little headcanon list about what it would be like to be married to one Lieutenant Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw. Little did I know then just what that one little story would lead to! It’s been a wild ride, and I’ve loved every minute of it!

Since this fandom is so very special to me, I wanted to host a little celebration to commemorate my “Top One” Anniversary. Get it? 😉

As for an anniversary, I'd like to celebrate the day I first met him, it'd be pretty special if I found the exact date. But my pre-2017 stuff has nearly all been completely scrubbed off the internet (Stalker reasons), so Its really hard to track down my first Idate drawing.

But- by digging through my files, by october 2015 i can see I was already making characters based on WATGBS (which was my introduction to Idate) so I'm guessing it should've been around July/August that I first played the game.

I knew of Mogeko Castle before that, and funnily enough, I actually got into WATGBS because of Sal... I had no idea there was an even hotter man waiting for me since I like going into games blind.

Because of idate I've also unfortunately met some of the worst people in my entire life, because i became popular in the roleplay scene way too young, and attracted a lot of bad people and straight up predators, who hid under the guise of playing an edgy character.

I didn't mean to turn this into a PSA, but honestly, be careful with people in this fandom, lmfao. Idate fans are a huge fucking gamble, youll either get neonazi predators who hide behind 'dark humor', or traumatized faggots who make idate their personal therapy animal.

On a lighter note, I celebrate Idate's birthday on April 4th! 🥳

On a mentally ill note, I guess a special date would be whenever I got my engraved necklace. Original date has sadly also been lost.

I've had it for what... 9 years now? It has his name and mine on the back, and a veeery faded sprite on the front. It's so worn now that it's completely smooth, so you can only really see his sprite if you tilt it against the light lol. That's because the sprite itself was supposed to be the smooth part while the rest of the metal was rougher, but now I've pretty much leveled both. I wear it every single day, sleep with it, shower with it, its essentially a promise ring.

Well, actually, this is not the original necklace, but i count both as being one. I had a different pendant for a few years before this one, but I used to rub it between my fingers when i was nervous, and ended up rubbing the engraving away completely, and had to replace the pendant :P

Do you think you have a type of character you gravitate towards? i tend to generally write characters in my wheelhouse, though i think i have deviations now and again lmao. like, who would think i'd write shigure, right? but, mostly cheerful characters, i think. mood-makers, the kind of people who would set a scene, but also be enough of a backseat player to the driving force where any protagonist or antagonist would take up the reins more comfortably? i think they tend to get written off as genki or filler characters, so i like kind of prodding at their insecurities and seeing what makes them tick instead.

What do you believe you enjoy writing the most? lmao, lbr i'm made for the clown show. nonsensical moments, increasingly strange meet and greets? but, i like doing big establishing moments that suspend what you know about my characters at face value to explore what's deeper in there. i'll slowburn friendship, idgaf; that's my shit.

Favorite TOA-related memory: lel, team justice is still a highlight in my memory from l&k, but i also remember this very specific combat sequence i wrote with rai in the first major lore event with felix and cynthia that was sick as hell to do! ....... also, probably every piemageddon. it is funny seeing even the serious characters fear for their lives / get uber maniacal in a ridiculous situation.

1. Are you named after anyone?

My mom named me Larisa after a half Latvian-half Ukrainian ballerina she went to school with who was "the kindest girl I've ever known".

2. When was the last time you cried?

About 15 minutes ago. My girl had a big, upset cry this morning before school and was so despondent, which of course had me crying with her. She's just frustrated because it's been 6 months that I can't walk (spinal surgery in 20 days and I'll be walking again by April) and it's been a really hard time for her, especially since I'm her only parent. (Today is also the 8yr anniversary of me falling into a surprise coma from kidney failure so today is an emotionally shaky day for me anyway.)

3. Do you have kids?

My love, my life, my everything! She's 9, in 4th grade, and just tested into 11th grade/high school junior level reading comprehension & 6th grade math. She's a star soccer player at her level in the Illinois Women's League of soccer, voted by her class to represent her grade in the School Leadership Committee. She's welcoming, kind, vivacious, silly, and totally self-expressed and free. She's cooler than anyone I've ever known!

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Always. Me and my kid speak in sarcasm to each other lol. She had to learn fast.

5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Their smile or lack of smile, how genuine in seems etc.

6. What’s your eye color?

Grey-blue with yellow-hazel around the pupil.

I collect horror movies! Talk horror movies to me day and night please!

Hmmm. . .I usually remember the lyrics to most songs if I've heard the song three times. Does that count? I'm very good at remembering lyrics, I think probably from my musical theater days. OH. Remembering peoples' astrological signs LOL

Reading, writing, music! I played in orchestra for much of my life, then was a musical theater major, singing, karaoke. Hiking, camping, fishing. Makeup artistry, uhhh I used to be a personal shopper so I'm very invested in fashion (not particularly wearing the trends, but I like fashion blogs & stuff). HORROR! All things horror and macabre!

Two cats, Rogue and Zibah. My other two kitties recently passed away, Noel & Holly.

I played soccer from age 4-18. I was on my school team's soccer and volleyball team, but I stopped volleyball after I ripped my hamstring during a game.

1. How many works do you have on ff.net?

A whopping 3, plus the first chapter to a 4th! I have to laugh that I'm even doing this, because I haven't yet really accepted myself as a fanfic writer.

2. What is your total ff.net word count?

95,000, with another 38,000 on the new story that's written but not yet posted.

4. Do you respond to comments and why?

I do. I know how much I appreciate it when other writers acknowledge my comments on their stories. Plus I've developed some real friendships by commenting. And I'm genuinely grateful to have feedback. I'm still trying to figure out the mechanics of fiction writing, and hearing how people respond to what I've created is incredibly helpful and honestly, really encouraging when I still lack confidence in my abilities.

5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

I do a lot of angst, even in my "happy family" story The Incident. I think of the three completed stories, that has the angstiest ending since part of it takes place on the anniversary of a character death.

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

I'd like to think they're all happy endings in that the characters I love all end up in a better place than where they started. I guess Support and Defend is the happiest because it's pretty angst-free.

7. Do you do crossovers? If so, what’s the craziest one you have done?

No, not yet. I feel like I need to master the voices of one set of characters before I pull in others.

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Not really. A few odd reviews but so far (knock on wood), no hate.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I wish! So far I haven't tried, even though others have pointed out some gaps in my stories where some smut might fit right in. Again, I want to get better at overall descriptions before I tackle that subset.

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of.

11. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Not that I’m aware of.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No, although I've co-written analyses and debates for wikiDeeks and have enjoyed the collaborative process.

13. All time favorite ship?

Densi is my only real obsession to date.

14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish, but don’t think you will?

I like to think I'll finish posting the story that just started, since it's all written save for some editing. Otherwise I don't have any actual WIP's, although I do have some outlines and research done for one of the few Deeks, M. questions that I don't answer in The Past is Prologue. We'll see if I ever find time to work on it.

15. What are your writing strengths?

My first answer here was "not a lot," but I'm going to give myself credit for strong chapter endings, research abilities, and decent instincts for pacing. I don't know that it's a strength, but my favorite part of writing fiction is dialog. It's always where I start because the process of channeling the characters to see what they want to say is so fun.

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

I'd like to improve on working descriptions more seemlessly into the action and knowing how much to describe in the first place, and feeling more confident about the mechanics of storytelling- e.g., when to have the characters talk through something in detail vs. summarizing, how to use flashbacks, and lots of other things I'm always asking my writer friends for help with.

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

I'm not averse to it but I don't think it's come up yet. Maybe it just hasn't been on my radar as a storytelling tool.

18. First fandom you wrote for?

I never wrote a single story outside of grade school until my first NCISLA story came to me in a dream, fully formed. It seemed silly not to write it down. I was so unsure about it I almost published it under a different name in case it was horrible, but I got brave and used my true online ID.

19. Fave fic you’ve written?

Well I guess I have to be most proud about the long one, Kiss the Demons. I wanted to explore Max Gentry and see what would happen if my now-a-father Deeks had to summon him. It was a dark journey but I was happy with where I left him at the end.

Moohmtoonz

-Buff, buff, n fluff. Brock and Luke are broad shouldered and big armed kinda dudes, and Ohm is very lucky for the eye candy and makes sure to tell all of their friends about it every single day

-Brock makes sure that there are fresh flowers on the table everyday, and Ohm doesn't have the heart to tell him that it makes his allergies kick up because the flowers make Brock so happy

-Ohm might not be the best cook, but he'll be damned if he can't be in the kitchen; he usually bakes bread, cakes and cookies and his boyfriends are all too happy to shower him with praise

-Luke usually sleeps in a separate room, since he knows how bad he can snore- but most mornings he wakes up with a boyfriend under each arm anyways, so maybe he doesn't snore as bad as he thinks

-Luther has to dress his boyfriends some days, it's not his fault they're both total dads and have not a lick of style between the two of them ("Ohm, those jeans make your ass look flatter than a pancake")

-Delirious can get pretty jealous that his best friend is busy with double the pretty boyfriends, so he usually ends up 4th wheeling on their dates

Pandohmcat

-Shoes. So many shoes. Between Ohm's boots and Anthony and Tyler's massive sneaker haul, there is no room in the house for anything

-In general, there's no room in the house for anything; there are dog toys, shoes, clothes, plants, figures, collectables, and posters everywhere. It's a very organized but still cluttered mess

-Ohm doesn't get why his boyfriends love cars so much either, but he still smiles when they gush about it and nods along as if he has any idea what they're talking about

-These three absolutely rock date night, and usually end up at their little local bowling alley or at a bar for some good wings and good beer

-Tyler gets a bit pouty when Anthony and Ohm play together all night, and usually ends up crashing one of their offices for some well needed kisses before bed

-Tyler's parents are more than happy that his son not only got one boyfriend but *two*; it just means Wilddad has more sons, and he pulls out the baby album everytime the trio come around for dinner

Jigglynoss

-The "we are never playing mario kart ever again" couple

-Anthony is absolutely astounded by Evan's music career, and more often than not he's in the studio with Evan just watching his boyfriend work and mix, and he finds something really beautiful about Evan's passion for his work

-Late at night (or early in the morning), Evan will stumble into their bedroom and wake Anthony up to have him listen to the latest edit of his song

-Evan isn't the biggest fan of crowds, and usually holds onto Anthony's hand or arm tight- Anthony always makes sure to give a reasurring squeeze or smile to calm him down

-No, Vanoss doesn't pay his gmod mapmaker to put in cute little love notes for Panda to find, that's ridiculous!

-When they're not in the mood to cook, Anthony's go to is a peanut butter and jelly- Evan used to not even like the sandwiches till Anthony started making them for him

Daithi de vanoss

-They're little shits. They're the kinda couple who prank each other- like replacing the sugar caddy with salt, or putting saran wrap on the toilet bowl

-Nogla is the softer of the two and definitely more romantic; he likes to play silly love songs on his acoustic when it's a rainy day or when Evan's come back from tour, and it never fails to make him melt

-That being said, Evan wants to do a collab with his boyfriend bur Nogla always gets so shy, and mutters something about wanting to get better at singing before they work on music together

-They're definitely a sight to see in public or in cons; Evan's always dressed in black, with skinny jeans and designer shoes and his ever present baseball hat- while Nogla usually looks like he's rolled out of bed and threw on whatever wrinkled clothes were on the floor

-Evan does not like chocolate milk, but he drinks it because it's basically the only beverage in the house

-These two kiss in bed all the time- it's where Evan feels most comfortable with the whole affection thing, and let's Daithi kiss him breathless under the duvet and hold him close to his chest

Moogla

-Brock kinda has a thing for being the 'housewife'- he likes cooking and cleaning and taking care of Daithi, and it never fails to make his chest swell with pride when Nogla tells him that the house looks nice, or that dinner was fantastic

-They probably only own comfy clothes, and only dress up for special occasions and anniversarys- and even then, Nogla always asks Moo if he can tie his tie (it's adorable everytime)

-If Nogla wants to hide a gift for Brock, he'll put it in the tallest cabinet or on top of the fridge; so far, Brock hasn't found out about his secret hiding spots

-They're both homebodies and would rather spend an evening in with each other than go out somewhere fancy

-Nogla loves taking Brock out to the fair however, and wins him the biggest prize he can everytime without fail. The collection they have in the house takes up a lot of space in the guest bedroom, but Brock insists they stay

-Oh these two sing Christmas songs together for sure, and they harmonize pretty well (even if David can get a little silly during the songs sometimes). It never fails to make Brock melt into a useless gay puddle when David sings to him

Vantoonz

-These two are a very busy couple; merch, streams, tours, recording, sponserships; they're both usually up far past bedtime, but they make it work

-Evan calls Luke his "trophy husband" and Luke honorably takes the title- he likes dressing up and looking good for his man, what can he say?

-They are CAT DADS and spoil the ever living shit out of their kitties. Evan bought a 300 dollar cat tree that has never been used a day in their life (they liked the box better)

-The only thing that they ever argue about is pizza toppings; Luke likes hawaiian, and Evan thinks it's a disgrace to pizza everywhere (they usually end up getting supreme and calling it a day)

-Luke can get kinda clingy believe it or not, and if Evan's busy recording he'll just wrap his arms around Evan's waist and press little kisses to his hair

-Evan did not like the beard at first, but it grew on him- even if Cartoonz wakes up looking like a dirty old pirate most mornings

Pandacat

-Anthony shares his absolute delight over Pokémon (cards and games) with his boyfriend, who usually returns the enthusiasm. They both think that Charmander is the best starter, but they squabble on which pokemon type is the best

-They probably play football (the american one) with each other in the yard, and things can get pretty rough. Tyler once apologized for a good two hours straight after he accidentally elbowed Anthony in the eye (Panda just laughed and kissed him to shut him up)

-Gym dates, though Tyler really just watches Anthony work out while he just kinda jogs on the treadmill the whole time

-Tyler's a little on the chubby side, and Anthony's all for it- he likes making hearty dinners and loves when Tyler gets second helpings ("You like my cooking? I'm shook, babe")

-Kino is Anthony's son, and nothing in the world can change that.

Sansa wasn’t crazy, was she?

Arthur had meant he wanted to kiss her, hadn’t he?

And not in a silly, this-is-just-a-joke kind of way either. He had sounded…

He sounded sincere.

Or maybe this was just wishful thinking.

What was the point in denying that she’d been flattered by the attention? She had, but it wasn’t only that.

Arthur had something about him that was magnetic. It wasn’t just the fact that he was ridiculously hot, because Arthur was much more than that. He was smart, kind, funny, an annoying little shit… When he was around, everything was better.

She could not believe she was… What? In love? With a crush? Crazy about him?

This was so difficult!

After the mishap with his words and which of her lips he wanted to kiss, Arthur went right back to his pickup lines and Sansa wasn’t sure how she felt about it.

On one hand, she did enjoy it -it was legitimately funny -and on the other…

“I want to wear you like a pair of sunglasses… One leg over each ear.” He declared one morning.

On the other hand now she had that picture in mind.

“You mean right now?” She asked him, frowning. “Because it isn’t that sunny. Maybe a pair of reading glasses?”

He rolled his eyes. “Now you’re just playing with my feelings.” He grumbled.

Sansa entered the room and looked around, looking for somewhere to sit.

“What’s wrong, Red?” Arthur asked from his place.

“I’ll need to go and grab a chair.”

He put his hand to his chest. “Sansa…” He started seriously. “As long as I have a face, you’ll have a place to sit.”

She snorted.

“Dude!” Arya protested.

“I think my family might oppose that idea.”

“Lap then?” He pointed at his own lap.

“I swear to God, Arthur, you’re testing your fucking luck.” Robb protested.

Sansa winked at Arthur. “Raincheck?”

“It’s a date, Red.”

“You do know that Arthur isn’t playing around, right?”

Sansa sighed. “I kind of do… But I’m not sure.”

Marge rolled her eyes dramatically. “Sansa, you’re supposed to be the smart Stark sibling.”

“Actually that’s Bran.”

Marge turned to Maggie and pouted. “Do something.”

Maggie chuckled. “I agree with her. Arthur isn’t just teasing you anymore.”

“But why won’t he say anything?” Sansa whined, letting her frustration show.

“So you’re interested!” Marge celebrated.

“I’d have to be stupid not to be.” Sansa grumbled.

“You know… I have an idea, but it’s a bit mean.” Maggie offered.

“Sounds amazing.” Marge encouraged her.

“Arthur has been starting the whole flirting, and I think that you answering him back is awesome, but what if you threw a few at him?”

“Uh… I like that. Beat him at his own game.”

“How does that help me?”

“Probably it won’t.” Maggie admitted. “But it’ll be fun.”

Well… She wasn’t wrong.

“Hello, Sansa.”

“Hi, Arthur.” She offered her cheek for a kiss. “Nice pants.”

Arthur looked down at his jeans. “Thanks?”

“Can I test the zipper?” She asked, her most innocent expression on.

Arthur’s eyes rounded for a second, before he exploded in laughter. “Red! Trying to beat me at my own game. Shame on you.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Game on, Sansa Stark.”

Sansa closed her umbrella as she entered the pub.

“Sans!” Arya waved at her.

“Sorry I’m late. It’s pouring out there.” She told her friends.

Arthur just hummed his understanding, his lips pressed together.

“Just say it.” Sansa said in a sigh.

“Should we got out there?” He gesture towards the door with his head. “I’ll kiss you in the rain so you can get twice as wet.”

She arched an eyebrow at him. “Is that a promise?”

“Oh Red…”

“Don’t you guys start this!”

Arthur and Sansa exchanged amused looks.

Sansa knocked on Arthur’s door. His secretary told her he was free, but he looked quite busy.

“Sansa.” He gave her a smile. “To what do I owe the honor?”

“Mother sent you this.” She showed him a bag her mother had filled with food, because she was constantly concerned that Arthur was eating properly.

“Your mother is the best.” He sighed. “Put it there, please.” He indicated the corner of his office.

She left it where he told her, then turned back to him. “You look really busy. I’ll just go.”

“No.” He was giving her his full attention. “I need a break anyway.”

“What time do you get off? Can I watch?”

He snorted. “Good one, Red. But I have this doubt… Are you my homework? Cause I’m not doing you but I definitely should be.”

She gasped. “Careful there, Arthur, or I’ll fall madly in bed with you.”

“Now I’m starting to think you only want me for by body.” He sighed dramatically.

“What did you say about romance?” She pretended to think. “Oh yes. That it was dead.”

“I know CPR.” He told her simply.

That was when Sansa noticed he was closer somehow. All this time they’d been closing the distance between themselves, and now they were face to face again.

“How long have we been doing this?” She asked him indicating the space between them.

“You think I keep count, Red?” He teased. “How cute.”

She rolled her eyes.

“Listen… I need to get something off my chest.” He started to say.

Sansa crossed her fingers. “Is it your shirt? Say it is.”

He gave her a look. “Now you’re just being difficult.”

“Now you know how I feel.” She told him with no mercy.

“Point.” He grumbled.

“Besides… It’s a great shirt. It’d look great on me… After.”

Arthur groaned. “This is so unfair.” He touched a strand of her hair and then pushed it all behind her shoulder, gently. His phone rang. “I’ve got to get back.” He didn’t sound happy about it.

“I know.” She gave him a smile. “Don’t work too much, ok?”

“Sure.”

Sansa was already at the door when he called her. “Hey, Red.”

She turned back “Yes?”

He was covering the receiver of the phone, a grin on his lips. “Our 4th anniversary is coming up. Wear something sexy for me?”

She grinned right back at him. “It’s a date.”

Sansa was bit nervous, she admitted.

This time it seemed different. When she said ‘a date’ and he just stood there grinning stupidly at her… It felt like they’d agreed on it. And it was a date.

So there she was, wearing a nice dress -not a sexy one -and entering the same old pub, but with a different feeling inside her.

She took two steps in and someone run into her and made her lose her balance. Sansa didn’t fall only because someone held her, hands on her waist.

“You okay?” Of course it was Arthur.

“I’m fine.” She let out a relieved breath.

“You know, Red…” He drawled. “I guess you just fell for me.”

She turned to glare at him. “Shut up.” But she was smiling.

“Well, damn.” He sighed. “Red, if beauty were time, you’d be eternity.” His eyes were soft as he looked at her.

Sansa felt her heart skip a beat, butterflies dancing the conga and a whole lot of other things. This… This was different.

This was better.

“Thank you.” She told him, even as she felt her face getting warm.

“Your hand looks heavy.” Arthur said cheerily. “Here, let me hold it for you.”

And he grabbed her hand and guided her to the table.

Two weeks later they were cuddling on her sofa and she was wearing his shirt.

“Hey, Red.”

“Yes?”

“Did it hurt?”

She snorted. “When I fell from Heaven?”

“No.” He grinned at her. “When you fell for me.”

“No, but I did skin my knee.”

“I’ve got a band-aid if you want one.”

who hogs the duvet- Kurt.  he’s used to sleeping alone in his cabin in the country, with the windows open late into the year and likes to keep the bedroom cold (”it’s the best for sleeping”).  At first she thought it was his ploy to keep her close to him when they slept but then she realized he really likes it like that.

who texts/rings to check how their day is going- hmm.  They’re both pretty busy but I’m going to say Kurt probably texts at least once a day.  Diane has started taking her phone with her to the bathroom so check on texts from him.  When she hasn’t heard from him, she knows he’s probably really busy so she’ll send him a quick “thinking of you” text.  It makes him smile

who’s the most creative when it comes to gifts- To be fair, I’m going to say creativity is relative for the two of them.  Diane gets him things she knows he’ll probably like (like a vintage Bull-Moose Party pin) but then he’ll make her dinner using a cookbook he found from her mom’s collection (a page that was worn and had stains all over it, showing that it was a favorite recipe)

who gets up first in the morning- Kurt. He’s used to getting up early as it is.  And since Diane was always pulling 12 hour days, he liked to let her sleep in.  Plus he always likes to watch the sun rise.  It’s something he’d like to do with her, and they have when they’ve gone camping, but it’s just a small pleasure for him.  Always has been

who cries at movies- Diane.  And he’ll hold her tight and rub her arm and she’ll smile because she feels so silly crying over fiction and then smile because of how sweet he’s being to her when he could just as easily laugh at her (he wouldn’t though, because he’s not a jerk).  then again, when she starts giggling about it, he’ll smile, too.  he’s teared up once or twice but heaven help him if anyone ever found out about it (not sure Diane knew for certain.  like, she heard something but wasn’t sure if it was a sniffle or a just poorly timed inhale)

who gives unprompted massages- Kurt, usually when she’s working late in her office and he tries to get her to take a break.  he’s really skilled with his hands and she likes to joke that he’d have a career in massage if he ever wanted to do something different.  she’s just flattering him, though, and wouldn’t want to share/is grateful it’s something he does for her.

who fusses over the other when they’re sick- Kurt because she never wants to stop, even if she is sick.  She’ll take care of him but it’s never what one would call a “fuss”

who gets jealous easiest- they both do.  It’s something Diane has done a brilliant job of getting past so she reminds herself she shouldn’t jump to conclusions so quickly.  And Kurt is stoic about it and tries not to let it get to him because he understands why other men would hit on her.  (I can just hear him go “who wouldn’t?)

who has the most embarrassing taste in music- Hmm.  Not sure about this one.  He likes some country and she likes show tunes but neither are really embarrassing? 

who collects something unusual- I’m going to go with Kurt.  He likes old political memorabilia.  not a lot of it, just rare and unique stuff

who takes the longest to get ready- Diane.  “can’t rush perfection, dear” (Kurt says that, btw.  she’s never late, though.  she understands it takes a while for her to get ready but she’s always on time.  it’s a hazard of working in law, court starts on time!)

who is the most tidy and organised- I’d say they both are, they have to do be for their line of work.  Kurt had to ensure the forensics were precise and in order and Diane has to make sure her documents and arguments make sense and, again, are in order, so it only stands to reason it’s spilled over into their personal lives, too.

who gets most excited about the holidays- Kurt.  Don’t get me wrong, Diane loves them, too, but for her it’s more about seeing him enjoy the holidays.  he enjoys them the most because they’ve both ensured they stay simple and intimate.  (that, and Diane makes sure to take time off to spend with him so they’re even more important)

who is the big spoon/little spoon- Kurt to Diane.  And they wouldn’t have it any other way.  (okay, there was the time where he’d gotten shot with buckshot and couldn’t sleep on his right side so she was the big spoon for a few days but it was sweet, even if it felt weird.)

who gets most competitive when playing games and/or sports- omg, Diane.  girl LOVES to win (I mean, look at her profession!).  Kurt thinks it’s cute when she gets competitive and focused but that doesn’t mean he gives in or lets her win.  he prefers being on her team if they ever do couples nights because he can sit back and think “watch this...” and “that’s my girl.”

who starts the most arguments- going to go with Diane on this one but not because she’s a litigator, she’s just passionate about things.  but being in a relationship, especially with Kurt, has taught her what’s worth arguing over and what deserves just to be let go.  when they argue, they’re definitely both bull headed and want to win but they realize there are more important things in life

who suggests that they buy a pet- Kurt.  He misses having a dog when he lived in his cabin.  But their schedules right now don’t really permit being able to have a pet.  They agreed on discussing it again once at least one of them has retired.  (but looking at them now, that probably won’t happen soon.)

what couple traditions they have- date nights every Friday night.  they spend Christmas morning with each other, just the two of them.  and they go camping for the 4th of July, close enough to the city where they can see fireworks but far enough away where it’s still quiet and just the two of them 

what tv shows they watch together- they’ll watch the local news together.  and I like the idea of them watching cooking shows and home repair shows together- nothing too controversial.  (obviously, they’ll watch political shows without the other around but not all that frequently)

what other couple they hang out with- old friends from before they got together.  And Amy and Maia when they were still together, before the scandal, obviously.

how they spend time together as a couple- date nights (mentioned already).  sometimes she’ll go out hunting with him.  she doesn’t really participate but she enjoys the quiet solitude of it all.  he doesn’t mind sharing this with her since she seems to bring some sort of calming happiness to him (not like anything he could find with his hunting buddies).

who made the first move- it’s been so long since I’ve seen I’ll have to go back and watch.  My recollection is that it was mutual, they both leaned in for a kiss (I don’t remember who asked whom out... ack! I’m such a bad fangirl!)

who brings flowers home- Kurt.  every once in a while he’ll bring home a single rose to show her she’s special.  (and on birthdays and anniversaries)

who is the best cook- Kurt.  he likes it and has taken the time to learn new cooking techniques once he started to date Diane.  She cooks but she’s not a huge fan of it, especially since he’ll happily do it for them, so no need, right?

"Volta Photo" at the Weinstein Hammons Gallery Sanle Sory FRIDAY: Volta Photo In 1960, Sanlé Sory opened a photography studio in Bobo-Dioulasso, the trendy/artistic city in Burkina Faso. That same year, the nation had received full independence from France. As the country entered a new post-colonial era, Sory photographed the vibrant youth culture that emerged. Spanning 20-some years, his collection of portraits features lovers kissing, smiling friends with a boombox, and style so fly it could belong in a high-fashion magazine from any era. The artist, who still lives and works in the area, began touring exhibitions of his work in the late ’90s. 'Nosferatu' Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror Released in 1922, Nosferatu is just a few years shy of its 100th anniversary, and somehow still manages to be creepy. Part of that effect may come from its on-location sets and beautifully framed shots, and Max Schreck’s performance as the titular monster certainly factors into its legacy. Yet another spooky aspect is the film’s soundtrack, which has been adapted and reimagined over the years. This Halloween, guests can head to the Music Box Theatre for a screening set to a live soundtrack from the Curse of the Vampire Orchestra, by Minneapolis composer Philip Shorey. MN Toy Posse Image courtesy event organizers MN Toy Posse Halloween Bash 3 What happens when you combine 70 toy sellers from all over the Midwest, hundreds of toy fans of all ages, and thousands of rare and unique toys and collectables? You get one giant posse. This weekend, the Minnesota Toy Posse will host its third-annual Halloween Bash toy swap. Posse founder Mark Seekamp started the group a little over three years ago on Facebook as a way to help connect people looking to buy, sell, or trade their favorite toys. He hadn’t planned on just how many people would want to join his gang. “We have more than 2,200 members, and it’s a really active group,” he says. And it’s not just about toys, either. “We’ve become friends and talk about our lives. People will post pictures when they have a baby, or we’ll just use it to meet up and go see a movie. It’s about creating relationships beyond just looking for toys.” For Seekamp, the best part of the day is how toys can bring people together. “The coolest part is being able to see someone who is going to be really excited about a toy that you have that you’re ready to part with.” 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 20.
