Here’s a quick sketch of Handler Blue! Her career in spy work has drained her, but she’s still giving it her all. Don’t ask about the burn scars on her face—you don’t need to know the context there. Besides, her worst wound is the bullet that pierced her skull after Zoraxis’ failed execution attempt.
Once she left Zoraxis, she worked as a top-tier field agent in the EOD. However, after she got shot, her implant was severely damaged and kinesium was spread into her brain. Luckily, she walked away from it, but the shattered implant had to be removed and she hasn’t been on the field since due to concerns about her health.
In the whole world, there’s only two people she’s let get close—and one of them is MIA after a vacation went wrong.
The name, you ask?
Reginald Crane.
#plot twist! handler blue is a phoenix!#she doesn’t really use the nickname much#esp after Reginald went missing#so very few people actually know who she is#she told her agent but absolutely no one else knows#she’s probably the sanest Phoenix ever to be honest#and yes she’s immortal#handler blue lore

Cave-ng in
Context
"Ow..." 13-12 hissed as Dr. Marcel applied the bandages. "You didn't have to be forceful about it."
"I'm not. What even happened here? Several agents clearly had it rough."
"... It was a trap. Handler Blue isn't taking it well since Shadow's... I don't know exactly what happened."
13-12 lowered their head. "... I couldn't protect them."
"Don't try to blame yourself for that. We also should've done more research."
They turned to the door, auburn hair and blue eyes staring right at them. "I..."
"Several medical staff are treating Shadow as we speak and Typhoon and Bluenix are aldo getting medical attention. Bluenix is... dazed though. I'm awaiting Blue's news about Wraith."
"I would normally get mad about someone handling Phoenix but my hands are full." Dr. Marcel sighed. "I'll double check the files later after I make sure that doesn't happen again. Sorry for being paranoid but we don't know if those crystals can be used to cause... you know."
The room felt colder, and not because of the air conditioning.
"It was kinesium that caused that. But if you're right... And it is enough to... cause a similar effect..."
"Let's... not think about those things."
"... What if it leaked to other universes? It's my fault. If it wasn't for the fact I did digging... I don't think someone else could've connected the dots. I'm the only me who has overloaded their TK implant and an ocular implant."
"You don't know that. So don't blame yourself."
"But if I say it... anyone eavesdropping might know. They might even get the idea."
"For now, focus on resting. I have other matters to deal with."
"... Later, Elira."
"I'll see you around, Marife."

”I can handle it,” Blue says, her voice strained. “And hey! I’m not THAT much older than you, agent! Just because Hivemind wiped my birthday from my memory doesn’t mean you get to call me an old lady!”
The flood of agents eventually die down, but only because it's migrating over to another base. One you thought was a secret, the underground base treated as if it was a bunker. The agents wreak havoc, digging through defenses like moles, adrenaline and determination fueling several alternate dimension Agent Phoenix's, along with a few other agents you are familiar with, and some you aren't. The fight is even bigger this time, a dust cloud appearing on the surface as agents scrap with all their teeth swords, lighters, some wielding grenades, others waving guns around like party streamers ready for bloodshed. The operatives are well trained, but there's at least a dozen adrenaline fueled agents swarming the place. And considering it usually only takes one to destroy whole factories and schemes, they do some serious damage.
Amongst the chaos, two agents slip through the entrance, blending into the shadows, barely a blip on the radar. They sneak through the levels of the base, and eventually manage to hack into the holding cells. No attempt to divert attention to the moles inside base work, as most operatives have had their earpieces smashed to bits in the fight. And not too many minutes later, an override appears on the computer, and a swarm starts to pour out from the bottom layer of the base, slowly rising upwards as the battle above ground raged on.
[Another instance of Roz’s voice rings across the intercom.]
“Ah, Agents, how unexpected! And by unexpected, I mean COMPLETELY EXPECTED! You may not be susceptible to moles, but did you prepare for… ACTUAL MOLES?!”
[Roz laughs maniacally, and the ground beneath the agents’ feet rumbles as giant mind-controlled battle-moles tear up the ground and begin their attack, making any attempt at fighting back difficult.]
#blue reblogs#handler blue lore time!#she joined Zoraxis without knowing what they were doing#and ended up acting as an agency mole#Until Zoraxis caught her and had Hivemind wipe her brain#to turn her into a double agent#eventually the agency managed to convince her of the truth#and now she’s working w them to ensure that no one faces that same fate

Reader is a Vidyadhara and Dan Feng's apprentice. This is wayy to long at an amazing 7250 ish words. Slight lore inaccuracies and maybe oocness. Childhood friends to lovers. Reader is dubbed 'Baofu' as a name but it isn't mentioned often. See end for more notes. Enjoy!
You were floating in something warm. Whatever you were contained in was very warm and so wonderfully comfortable. You had to wonder where you were and why you felt so calm. Fragments of a previous life, of a game and wondering the cosmos, filled your mind. You startled and kicked around, it was too much for your young mind to handle. Your mind gently drifted off.
The next time you woke, you were much smaller. Your tail felt around your small chamber, that too was smaller. There were voices yelling outside, but they were muffled. Your chamber was dark, so seeing outside was not an option. They were horribly loud too your sensitive ears, and you shifted away from them, accidently flipping your prison around. They stopped yelling.
This was fine, you could handle being in a diffrent position if it meant you got your peace and quiet. You felt movement around you before your room righted itself. You floated to the bottom, happily sleeping again.
It was beginning to get cramped in your home. This was what you had decided the next time you woke. Quiet voices could be heard outside. The voices were familiar to you since you heard them often.
When you stretched out your limbs to relieve their sleepiness, your feet broke your container. Water was quickly filling your home and you panicked. The egg you were in was fragile and you easily broke free of it. Kicking and clawing your way to freedom and safety.
Well, it would've been safe if your toddler body could swim. Even the fragmented memories and instincts weren't enough to remember the motions to swim. You had yet to open your eyes, too busy flailing to think about opening them. Panic set in and you began to cry and scream, an internal part of you getting embarrassed. Water splashed around you before a set of hands grabbed your naked and screaming form. As you were lifted out of the water, you were decided to open your eyes.
Blurrily, you could see the face of a man with a set of blue ish horns and brown hair. Dan Heng? A fragment of your original self echoed. Who was Dan Heng? Blinking and settling yourself, you stopped screaming.
"I shall inform and retrieve the others, Imbibitor Lunae!" A panicked voice entered your ears. Even though fat tears were still streaming down your face, you could make out the man in front of you better. Blue eyes, dark brown to black hair, and long ears are what you could make out as he cradled you to his chest. You tail swoshed gently behind you as he shifted to hold you.
You watched from where your head laid on his shoulders as he left the waters. The dark cobbled room greeted your eyes. The place where you had slept was filled with green seawees and sand. Your former home laid in ruins from your panicked escape. Pieces of the egg shell floated in the clear water. You had eased up in your crying as you studied the room.
More people hurried into the room, these ones did not look lile the one who held you. They had long ears but lacked the horns and tail you and you handler had.
"Imbibitor Lunae, here is some blankets to wrap them in." A woman took you from you handler's arms and wrapped you in a warm blanket. You shifted, the blanket felt like it was crunching your tail. You began to cry again at the feeling, your toddler body not having much emotional control.
You made grabby hands toward the one known as Dan Feng, crying louder. You wanted to go back to safety and not being uncomfortable.
"Give them here. I will take them to the next room." Dan Feng commanded the room and you were quickly given back to him. He adjusted the blanket for your tail and held you to his chest.
What followed next was something you could not remember, your drowsiness taking over. What you did learn was that you were not something that was supposed to be alive.
Your egg had appeared from nowhere. An elderly Vidyadhara caretaker had found your egg. No records of you were found and that had caused an uproar. Scans confirmed that you were a Vidyadhara. Your egg was quickly isolated. An arugement had broken out about you when the entirity of the Vidyadhara Preceptors council had gotten together.
It was only when you were roughly seven in human years did you fully regain yourself.
--------
Being reincarnated sucked. Your reincarnation into the Vidyadhara called Baofu wouldn't have been so bad if the others hadn't looked at you strange. The new name and body hadn't taken long to get used to, but the looks did.
"Its not normal to show your tail and horns. Why are they doing that?" Many had murmured behind your back.
"I heard that the Council thinks they are a reincarnation of Long." Others would gossip. Many expectations were placed on you. Any wrong doing was punished twice as much then anyone else and any achievement belittled. The council members from all ships sucked.
You were in a small pool out in a green area, currently working on water techniques like your shifu taught you. The artifical sun of the Xianzhou Loufu was bright in the water. Your shifu sat behind you.
Dang Feng watched you as you struggled and got frustrated. His knees tucked underneath him and tail resting behind him. His face was passive at your growing frustration. He crossed his arms.
"Do not think of water as a shape right now. Think of it as a flowing river, do not fight against it, but go with it." His stern voice hit your ears just as your control faltered and water plooped back down into its source. You let out a frustrated cry and your tail hit the water hard. You turned around to face the dark-haired man, ignoring the fact he was gently wiping water from his face.
"Can we go home? I've been doing this forever. I wanna go play." Your voice was a hair below shouting. Frustration was thick in your voice and your mentor merely sighed.
"Give it another shot. You are closer to doing it then you think you are." He encouraged. You groaned before turning around. You held your hands out and focused. Let the water flow freely, but encourage it to keep its shape.
A small, clear blob gently floated in front of you. You imagined a ring in your mind and attempted to mould to water to that shape. The water shakily formed a ring and you held it in the air. A large smile broke out on your face and you turned to you mentor who gave a small smile. Turning your head back to the ring of water., you felt your control slip and watched the water flop pathetically back to its source.
You sagged slightly at the sight, but turned around as you heard your mentor stand. He dusted off his white pants and beckoned you toward him. You walked to him and got out of the water. Your sandals were covered in sand and the edges of your shorts were slightly wet.
"I will permit you to have extra time to play today. You will not get the opportunity tomorrow." He held out his hand for you to take. You took it, his large hand encompassing yours. "You did well today. So not let the others bring you down. You are still quite young." You both walked back to your shared home.
Once you changed, you fled the house. Your master watching as you left. There was a park you could go to that had many children there often. It was a wonderful place to go to when you just wanted to be a child. As you arrived, you scanned the area. The park was rather empty today. The only people in it were a white haired man and a young boy. His son, you guessed by the looks of it.
You darted to the sand box the boy was in, you tail gently swaying as you ran. The boy heard you and looked up from where he was playing. You stopped in front of him and looked down at him. Gold eyes watched you carefully. You had this. You could do this without being socially awkward.
"I am Baofu and I think we are going to play together." Shit, that was too demanding. Plan B, Plan B. "If you wanna. If not I can go play somewhere else." You back tracked, trying to fix your tone to something lighter. Heavens did you even sound like a child?
Nice going, you messed it up and now he's not going to play with you. You thought.
The boy merely smiled and shuffled over to make space for you. He patted the sand beside him. You stepped in the box and sat next to him. He turned to you, white hair messily framing his face.
"I'm Jing Yuan." He said, scooping some sand into a his pale blue bucket. He made no comments on your more dragon like appearance. Instead, you two played like any other children would. Being a child again was a wonderful experience at times, this being one of them. Even as his father came to take Jing Yuan home, you two promised to meet again.
You often met with Jing Yuan at the park after that. In between your forced duties and schooling, you would try to catch him at the park. You only truly made friends with him and no other child at the park. Between your social awkwardness and appearance, no child wanted to be friends with the odd one out. Except for Jing Yuan, that is.
"I'm going to be a Cloud Knight!" He proclaimed to you one day as you both played Knights. You had been friends with him for nearly three years at this point. "Dad even enrolled me in training courses to help me get started earlier. Though we just stick to book stuff."
He swung at you with his stick and you dodged and tried to get him back with yours. This was training disgused as play time. You had to give his dad credit, disgusing this exercise as a game was clever. It also left you ego and shins bruised. Jing yuan was too good at attacking.
"I think you'll be a good knight!" You had merrily chimed back as you hit him with the back of the leg with a stick. You heard him yelp and fall. Aa you approached him he glared up at you from his spot on the ground. He couldn't keep the grumpy face for long though, and he eventually broke out into laughter after you helped him up.
Unbeknownst to the both of you, this was the last time you would see one another for years to come. Training took up the majority of your time and then eventually Jing Yuan's. When you had gotten your first phone you had gotten his number, but you both ended up being so busy that you didn't talk much.
You had progressed wonderfully in your training, the water eventually succumbing to your will. Of course, you weren't on the level of someone like Dan Feng, but if he couldn't be there you often took his place.
It was exhausting. The other high elders expected so much of you. Dang Feng did his best to control the influence the other elders had over you, but he could only do so much. Then, while you were working on the Yuque, it came under siege from the Denizens of Abundance. What was supposed to be simple help with injuries from a band of roaming mara-struck turned into a battlefield.
The injuries only multiplied from there. If you weren't being ran ragged by the injured then you were out on the defense lines. The Denizions did not take well to boiling, high pressured water shooting at them at high speeds. The tiredness from earlier only worsened when you fought.
The Yuque was quickly turning into a mess. While the defensive lines did hold, everything else was falling apart. The medics were quickly being overwhelmed and the soldiers were running out of weapons. Denizions were tough to kill, even the weapon shifu had made for you eventually cracked from battle. In a way, you were cracking just like your weapon.
"Please, you have to help her instead of me. My children deserve to have their mother more." The solider laying in front of you begged, how wife laying next to him. An attack on the district had left them both injured. The man more so then his wife.
"She will be fine. Stop moving." Your patience was wearing thin. Another Vidyadhara was coming towards you. The man in front of you jerked again and you finally gave into your frustration and hit him on his leg wound. It was cruel, but he needed to follow orders. You whipped you head to him as he cried out.
"Shut up and lay still or i will do more then just hit you." You hissed to him. You never got violent with your patients, but he would not stop moving and your patience was thin.
"That is enough, I will deal with him Baofu." There was a hand on your shoulder. "You are needed in the command tent. The main tent. Go get some rest after that. You look horrific." The woman's voice was authoritive. You looked up at her dipleased face before finally standing from your seat and storming out the tent, the frustration obivous on your face.
The main command tent was in the center of camp. More people shuffled around then before, new faces coming in with the old. Supplies were quickly feeding into camp. It appears help from the Loufu has finally arrived. Sliding past the busy people had taken a bit of time, but you made it to the tent. You felt tired just looking at the Major in charge.
Throwing open the cloth door, you could see four familiar people standing around the table. You knew them as Dan Feng's friends, but you never had the time to truly meet them.
"Ah, Baofu. It appears our prayers have been heard. Help has finally arrived." The major in charge of this camp gave a relieved sounding sigh. She continued, "I will give a short summary of who is who just in case you don't know. I know you know your shifu. The woman to my left is Baiheng, she will be helping with starskifts." She waved towards a Foxian Woman. She pointed to a white haired woman next. "This is Jingliu and her appreantice, Jing Yuan."
You merely nodded in response to her introductions. You gave a small wave to them before turning back to the Major, not fully comprehending the fact that your childhood best friend was standing across from you. Scooting closer to the table, you took a look at the map. The lines hadn't moved on the Alliance's part, but the Denizions appeared to have grown in number.
"I want you to give a debriefing to your shifu after this. He needs to know what mess he is walking into." The major continued. She turned her attention to the map in front of everyone and began her debriefing. If there was one thing you did not like about the major, it was the fact that she was boring. She had a monotone voice that could put anyone to sleep. You got drowsy as she continued on, the debriefing not keeping your attention. This was the first time in a while you had been in such a still place. You blinked awake.
Dan Feng had moved beside you, as if sensing you were about to fall asleep. You looked up to see his disapproving, but worried look. Well, as worried as his neutral face got. You played with your hands, distracting yourself. You ignored the fact that you felt yourself shaking. You blinked awake again. She was still rambling. A hand was on your back this time. Dan Feng leaned down to your ear.
"Stay awake for a few more minutes. You do not need to debrief me, so you can just go to your room." He whispered quietly. You nodded. Heavens, you were so tired. When was the last time you ate? Your eyes drooped again. Fighting against sleep was difficult. You entire body was so exhauasted from constant use. It was not used to war.
You did not blink awake like you did last time. Instead, you woke with an intense grogginess. The bed you were in was warm and soft. The wonderful feeling of the bed did not change the fact that your bones ached. Everything ached, actually. Muffled voices came through the door to your room.
"We both know Baofu cares too much. I've only known them for a bit, but even i could recognize the signs. Hitting a patient was the final straw." It was the voice of the Vidyadhara Woman from before. Lady Wu was what many called her. The voice of your mentor came closer.
"Why didn't you pull them from active duty earlier…." You zoned out from the conversation as they got closer. Your brain felt like it was frying itself.
You cracked open your eyes, trying to gather information about your sorroundings. Sitting up proved to be difficult, but you maaged an upright position before the door to your room opened. Dan Feng entered the room quietly.
Seeing that you were awake, he spoke. "You gave us quite to scare, collasping like that." He approached and sat in the chair next to your bed. The room lit only by the small, dull lamp in front on your bed. "You are in a state of absolute exhuastion. Do you even realize how in bad of shape you are?"
You looked to him and huffed. The look on his face warned you of an an incoming scolding and lecture. He got a cup of water from the small side table beside him and handed to you.
What proceeded was the most intense scolding of your life. You had been out for nearly three days and Dan Feng had been worried. He listed facts after facts about your poor health and how you needed to take care of yourself more. You were no use if you were overworking yourself. Now here you were, in a state of weakness caused by your own doing.
"Jing Yuan will need assistance in helping train the soldiers more. Jingliu can only do so much and she is furious at the poor state of the soldiers training. Light duty only." He gave you a sharp look at those final words. "I will send for Jing Yuan and he will update you shortly. For now you will have three days of rest before light duty." You licked you dry lips nervously. You hadn't seen your friend in so long, you were basically strangers.
Dan Feng stood and sighed. "I do not have much time to spend with you here. So, I am going to say this now. You did a wonderful job healing the injured." You could tell he wanted to say something else. "Please, do not be hard on yourself when you lose a patient, you cannot save everyone." He turned as began to walk to the door. You were unsure what to say to that, so you only watched as he left.
You cleaned yourself in the next few hours. Brushing your hair, taking a shower, and taking care of your tail were the beginning steps. The door opened and a white haired teen waltzed in. You held a tight grip on your tail to prevent it from wagging. A smile broke out on your face, however.
"Jing yuan!" You called to him as he approached. He was quick to snatch you in a hug. Your hands letting go of your tail to hug him back. You tail thumped against the floor happily.
"I was a bit worried about you. You just suddenly collaspsed in the meeting." He start as he set you back on the bed he had snatched you from. He sat on the chair that Dan Feng originally sat in. "I'm glad your okay. Things really are a mess here. How about I give you an idea of what your going to help me with and then we catch up."
Appreantly, the Denizens of Abundance where being helped by an emanator named ShuShu. Upon finding this out, Jingliu wanted every soldier trained harder in order to be more ready for battle. The higher ups did not want more to become mara-struck. With better training, they could achieve that.
Jing Yuan mainly needed someone to help him show his trainees how to patch wounds. Since a majority of the soldiers did not have formal training, they often did not know how to patch wounds. Many were civilians who took up arms to help the overwhelmed knights.
Thus began your days of recovery. You would attend the training, show some basic medic skills, like stitching up wounds, and then spend your day with Jing Yuan. Of course, you could only spend time with him if Jingliu hadn't taken him or if he wasn't busy.
After your recovery, both yours a Jing Yuan's training intensified. Neither of your Mentors wanted you two to fall in battle. Your original training did not revolve around combat, so Dan Feng largely trained you in how to fight better. Your ability to heal at fast rates, whether that be on yourself or others, was a gift that Dan Feng used. Your fast healing made others and yourself more durable in battle, leading to people being in battle longer.
You did not particularly enjoy combat, oftentimes staying farther back and using the cloudhymm to heal your soldiers en masse. It was an ability others appraciated. Eventually, the High Cloud Quintet was formed. Though you often visited them when they had their meetings, you never formally joined them.
Your duties often kept you on other lines apart from them. Instead you unintentionally formed a healing group with other Vidyadhara that often kept your soldiers in battle for far longer then normal. In fact, those who often where in your small group branched off to other divisions to help there. Years drew on, and you fame only grew with how many battles you dragged out and how many frontlines were moved under you and your people.
After the western front was secured, you were asked to go to the eastern front, where your mentor was. The Denizens of Abundance were far stronger on the eastern front since they were pushed back. So, you and several divisions of soldiers went east to support them. A massive attack at ShuShu and his forces was about to be underway. Any relief that you're soldiers could give would be helpful.
The relief your soldiers brought was immense. Many of the overworked were able to take a small break now that help had arrived.
Arriving to the main command center, you entered the building to see where you would be placed. Large arms encased you in a hug from behind before you could find the commanders. Only one person would do that.
"Hello Jing Yuan." You sighed. He dropped you and you turned to him. He had gotten far prettier over the years and you decided that it wasn't fair. Who let this man be so pretty? He was also far too kind to you. He always listened to you and often times tried to distract you from the war. He would be a good boy- wait, no. You did not have a crush on him. You couldn't do that, not with your best friend. Those weren't the words of you loving him, they were just words of appreciation. Yeah, appreciation.
"Why, I'm here to take you to the others." He guided you to a room in the opposite direction. "They figured you wouldn't know where to find them, so they sent me to wait for you." He looked to you as you walked. You had grown to be quite beautiful, in his opinion. Your empathy drew him to you even if you pretended too not care so deeply. He enjoyed many other traits about you too.
Entering a large room, the other High Cloud Quintet members were there. Baiheng gave you a beaming smile and waved to you as you approached the war table. You took a spot next to your mentor. Jingliu stood at the front, Baiheng to her right, and Jing Yuan was next to Baiheng. Yingxing stood to Jingliu's left, Dan Feng next to him, and then you at the end of the table.
"Shushu's forces are making a desperate attempt to stop us." Jingliu began. "An attack must be happening soon. If we can strike first, it could cripple their defenses." Jingliu looked up from the table. "So here is the plan."
The plan never happened, Shushu's forces had far greater power than anyone had anticipated and had attacked first. The Sanguinary Abyss that shushu had set up was dangerous, and any who passed through it were often trapped on the other side. Your mentor was on the other side and suffering from Dragon's Delirium.
Even as both you and Jing Yuan cut through countless enemies, their defenses would not break. Your healing was keeping the soldiers alive longer, but they were still falling rapidly. At this rate, you were merely stalling. Purple hair was quick to rush by you and run into the enemies' defensive line.
Baiheng was rushing and bulldozing her way through both the Sanguinary Abyss and enemy lines. Her recklessness carving a way through the enemies defensive line. Yingxing was quick on her tail.
"Everyone," Jing Yuan managed to shout out to enough soldiers, "Follow us through the lines, we have a way past them! Inform everyone around you!" He looked your way as he parried and killed one the denizens. Hearing his command you repeated what was said to nearby soldiers, shouting as loud as you could.
Rallying to Jing Yuan, you kept the soldiers you had alive as you stormed the enemies crumbling defensive line. Following behind Baiheng by a few short minutes. The following battle raged on for longer as the forces around you unknowingly made a defensive line to Baiheng and the others.
Shushu's defeat was quickly realized as the Denizens of Abundance fled in large numbers and the battle was quickly ended. You told Jing Yuan to find the others as you went for the wounded. You could worry about them later, your soldiers were more important since they did not have the same power as the others.
As the battle slowed and ended, You created patches of misty haze that healed your wounded soldiers and helped keep those with major wounds alive for longer. Hours bled together as you helped settle the remaining skirmishes and healed the wounded. In some cases, even killing them after they had been mara-struck.
You did not hear news of Baiheng's sacrifice until you returned to camp to rest. You saw your master and Jingliu speaking and had decided to approached.
"Shifu." You spoke from behind Dan Feng. He looked horribly pale. "Are you alright?" You looked to Jingliu who was no better. Assuming the worse you quickly approached to look for wounds.
"Your not injured are you? Where is Baihe-" you were quickly cut off by Dan Feng.
"Baiheng is dead. She gave herself to defeat ShuShu." Dan Feng's voice shook as he spoke. Shock colored your face. You had quickly forced him and Jingliu into a hug, your arms barely reaching around them both. Neither cried, but neither resisted your hug like they normally would've.
"I'm sorry you two. Is Yingxing alright? He ran up with her to meet with you two." You let go of them both.
"Yingxing is alright. He is helping bring the injured back to camp." Jingliu spoke, voice hollow. "Jing Yuan is still on the battlefield cleaning up the remaining Denizens of Abundance."
"Would you mind helping heal the injured? I need to rest from the battle with ShuShu, but I do not wish to leave the injured unattended." Your mentor spoke. You knew he just wanted an excuse for you to leave. You didn't push him and instead nodded.
"Yeah, Both of you get some rest. I-" Pausing, you gave yourself a moment to think, "I am here for you both if you need me. I don't know what to say, but I can always listen." You reassured them and left.
The next weeks were solemn. Your Mentor was not taking Baiheng's death well. Her funeral had been large and many from all ships came to mourn her loss and celebrate her life. Yingxing and Jingliu were no better in their grief, but Jingliu was coping better than the other two, but not much. Jing Yuan had taken up the offer of comfort when you gave it to him.
Baiehng's death had hurt him too, but he leaned on you for help and was healing better than the others from it. He was quickly flying through the ranks of the Cloud Knights and there were even rumors of Teng Xiao chosing him to be his successor, which were later proven true. You had both celebrated his promotion with glee. Cherishing the nigh as you both knew his time would be limited. Even with his limited time, he tried to make time for you and you tried to make time for him.
The romance between you two was steadily beginning to grow, but you wouldn't get together with him until after the Sedition of Imbibitor Lunae.
You had noticed your master acting suspiciously a few days before his crime. He and Yingxing often together and planning something. When you had confronted him about his behavior, he had blown up. The fight between you two leaving feelings hurt and opening a wound between you two.
You had cried to Jing Yuan when he came to see you that day. Your mentor's words hurting more than any true wound could. He had comforted you, and the bond between you two only grew deeper.
In order to avoid your mentor, you went to Scalegorge Waterscape to help with tending to Vidyadhara eggs. Tending to the eggs was not one of your major duties, but it was peaceful. The other caretakers had allowed you to join them, sensing you needed to break from everything. In the early morning hours, your mentor and Yingxing would commit a crime that would be told for centuries.
You had sensed something was going to happen at the Watercape, so you left early for what you called "Egg Duty". When you had arrived, the sight of having the Ambrosial Arbor exposed had you running for it. You had quickly texted Jingliu that something was up and asked for reinforcements. You had told her you had a feeling your mentor was doing something stupid and she had relayed it to Jing Yuan.
Finding your master, you discovered that he had tampered with the Ambrosial Arbor. Not only that, he had invoked Transmutation Arcanum and was commiting a unforgivable sin. Things were quick to dissolve after Yingxing had recieved backlash and you cronfronted your mentor.
You couldn't do anything to him though once the Draconic Abomination had been born. The thing quickly formed after your mentor lost control over the Arbor. You had quickly shifted your attention to the massive rampaging dragon thing that was quickly ruining the waterscape.
You fought the beast for hours once you shifted into your true draconic form. You used the water around you to stall the beast and cause a stalemate. The healing factor from you both was causing a stalemate and that in turn was destroying the Waterscape. You had fought for a long while until the beast struck a nearly unhealable blow to you.
The thick claws of the beast had caught the side of your face and caught your eye. It was quick to use your disorientation to pin you. While you had managed to injury the beast greatly while pinned, it was going to kill you of you could not shake it off. You mentor was nowhere in sight. Dredging up the last of your waning strength, you summoned the nearby water to knock the beast off of you. While it had been successful, you did not get up in time before it pinned you again.
It had tackled you and broke more bones in the process, the blood from both you staining the waters. Your savior came in the form of Jingliu. Her ice strikes were decisive against the beast and caused it to turn its attention to her. You did not join the resulting battle, not even to heal.
Even as Jingliu killed the beast and became mara-struck, you merely laid there and continued to try to heal yourself. It was hard when you were in so much pain and taking wheezing breaths. You closed your eyes and focused inward.
A hand was on your muzzle and you felt another Vidyadhara's cloudhymm help you heal. You cracked open your good eye to see who it was. Weakness caused your vision to be blurry, but you could recognize one of the preceptors. There were shouts and voices around you, but you felt yourself fading.
"Baofu, you must rest. We will handle your master and this beast." Their voice was muffled. The Cloudhymm throughout your body intensified. You closed your eye as you heard the voice speak, "That's right, rest." You allowed the all-encompassing darkness to take you.
You awoke again in a darker place and in deep water. You managed to get your head above water and on shore. You did not recognize this place. This large of a healing room was not used. Since so few Vidyadhara can truly return to their draconic form, rooms like these were useless in this day and age.
The door in the room opened and you recognized the preceptor that came in. They were the one that saved you.
"Finally awake, I see. You took quite the beating from that abomination." They came close to your snout and examined you. "Holding off that beast was impressive considering how long you lasted." They examined the eye that was slashed. "Thank you for fighting it and defying your master." They walked in front of you as you lazyly stared.
"You have been unconscious for nearly a week now. Healing such intense damage to bones takes time. Much has happened in your sleep. The high elders will arrive shortly once I give the word. I will go inform them of your state. I will be back after your meeting." They quickly left the room without giving you a chance ro say anything. You drifted between dreamland and reality until the door had reopened for the high elders.
You shifted to get more comfortable and to face the High Elders, Dan Feng's teachings instilled into you even in dragon form. All four had approached you and formed and semi cricle around your snout.
"High Elders, to what do I owe the pleasure of seeing you for." You hoarsely spoke. The elder from Zhuming was the first to speak, his voice echoing across the empty chamber.
"Your master had chosen you to be the successor. You are to become the next Imbibitor Lunae, even if we do not fully agree." The elder from Yuque was next to speak.
"What he means to say is that even with the circumstances sorrounding your birth, your loyalty to the safety of the Xianzhou Alliance has convinced is to allow your ascension. Your display of power and defiance to your mentor's plan has proved to us that you are worthy of his title." Her tone was impassive. The elderly Vidyadhara next to her spoke.
"Your mentor's sin has caused him to be punished and his title stripped from him. The only reason he lives is to give you his power before rebirthing." The elder from Fanghu spoke.
"We will explain in more detail your duties later. For now, rest. In three days time you will recieve the power of Imbibitor Lunae. More will be discussed later. We will leave you to rest." The elder from Yuque softly said to you. They departed from the room as you laid there. Trying to comprehend what was happening.
You pushed yourself deeper into the massive pool and sunk to the bottom. You emotional state quickly becoming depressed.
The next days passed fast and before you knew it, the time for your Ascension had come. You had the strength to revert to human form for the ritual, so that was the form you chose for it. Getting dressed and ready had been easy.
Entering the room you had been guided to down the hall had not been easy. Seeing you mentor sorrounded by preceptors and high ranking officals was stressing you.
"All who are present in this room are to witness the birth of the next Imbibitor Lunae. Baofu has been chosen and approved to be Dan Feng's successor." The loud voice of the Yaoqing's elder sounded throughout the room.
You approached Dan Feng and ignored the happenings around you. When you approached and stopped in front of him, he gave you a sorrow look.
"I do not regret it. Just know that I know you will do well and I'm proud of you." Dan Feng had spoken softly to you as he began the process of transfering power to you. However, the process was never fully completed and you only got splinters lf his power. This was the last time you saw Dan Feng before his rebirth and those words were the last he spoke to you.
After the ceremony, you returned to your estate you had shared with you mentor. The emptiness of the estate felt like thousands of stones were weighing on you. You were robotic in your movements as you went about you nightly routine. The only thing that stopped you was the knock at your door.
Opening to the door to Jing Yuan was something that you felt should've surprised you, but the day was still trying to process. He gave a soft look to you before he gently asked if he could come in. Of course, you let him in and when you closed the door and turned back to him, he crushed you in a hug.
The hug broke something in you. The weight of the day was hitting you hard. You could hear him apologizing, but the ringing in your ears was quick to drown him out. The feeling of helplessness and grief hitting you like a tsunami. You hugged him back as sobs ripped from your throat.
You were never going to see your father figure again. He would be reborn and you would not get the chance to see him again until the new him was born. Jing Yuan merely hummed as you sobbed into him. He cried with you, but not much. He had few tears left to give.
When you managed to calm yourself, you asked if he wanted to stay the night. He said yes, joking that it could be like old times when he had snuck in to see you as children. He managed to get a smile out of you with that joke. Waking up in Jing Yuan's arms that next morning had almost caused your heart to stop. You swore you had died for a few moments when you finally realized who was with you.
He was warm from where he was spooning you. Although you felt your heart was about to stop beating, you did not move. Instead, you laid there drifting in and out of sleep until he finally stirred. Neither of you mentioned your sleeping arrangement until you had made a comment later.
"I do appreciate company. Prehaps if you aren't opposed to it, you could stay the night again?" You quietly suggested, asking it as a question. His smile told you his answer before he even spoke.
"Of course." Jing Yuan turned for the door. "I am here for you. I hope you understand that." As you let him out you replied to him.
"Of course. I am here for you too."
Thus, time moved on. You took up the duties of Imbibitor Lunae and eventually took the young Vidyadhara Bailu as an apprentice. Jing Yuan had his duties as general and came to visit often, even after he expelled a young Dan Heng from the Laofu in order to free him. After a long while of unoffically dating you finally confessed and both of you made it offical. Even though you both tried to be quiet about it, word eventually spread.
Roughly four decades before Jing Yuan would bring Yanqing home to be his retainer, you offically got married. The entirety of the Xianzhou Loufu partied rather hard in celebration. Though, you believe that they were just looking for an excuse to party. The wedding had been private with photos released at a later date.
When Jing Yuan brought a young blond child home, you questioned him. He explained that the boy had lost his parents and needed a caretaker. Jing Yuan was in need of a student and retainer so he decided to bring the boy in. You were miffed by his actions, even if you would come to care for the boy later. He still could have informed you.
Bailu at least enjoyed Yanqing's company. The boy was going to turn you grey at the rate he was going. He was a good swordsman, but he was young. He tended to get in over his head when choosing opponents. He did not seem to understand that while he was good, he needed experience and wisdom before he recklessly charged into battle.
In the current time, you watched Bailu practice in the same pond you had trained in when you were young. She seemed to be picking up the water techniques better then you though. When she met her goal for the day, she always turned to you in excitement with a smile on her face. You smiled back and praised her. If she failed at something, you merely used it as a lesson for her.
"Come, Bailu. I think we should practice the healing technique you wanted to work on." You said to her. The beaming smile she showed reminded you of Baiheng's. She was quick to depart the water and run infront of where you had stood up and began to walk.
Yes, this is perfect. You had thought, ignoring the massive ball of dread in your gut.
The sun was shining and the day was wonderful. You unknowingly had time to savor this moment before the crisis with the stellaron was to occur. If you had known what was to happen, you would've savored it longer. But as it stood now, you were to train your little apprentice more before going home to Jing Yuan.
The day was going to continue to be good, you just knew it.
-----------
End notes.
I rushed the ending i just wanted to end it and i didn't even do everything i wanted. It was just getting so long. The original idea i had was supposed to be for Zhongli but here is Jing Yuan instead. I am not proof reading that so i hope it makes sense because it was written over several days. See you next time!
Edited some errors on 9/8/24

The Hell-Hounds of Yautja Prime
So... ever since I saw Predators 2010, I instantly fell in love with the hounds! The design is just the definition of awesome! Since then, I have been hoping to see them more in Predator media.
With my comic, I'm working, I thought it'd be perfect to show the hounds once more, but what if there's different subspecies like we see with yautja? What if the ones we saw in Predators are just one of the few breeds?
So... taking inspiration from the Predator lore and species, I've cooked possible ideas for different hounds across the terrains of Yautja Prime.
Swamp Hound - This group is the one from the film, the basis of the other hounds. Swamp hounds, like their Swamp/Super Predator handlers, are the biggest of the hound subspecies and the most aggressive.
Jungle Hound - Found in the forests and jungles, this group is mostly wild. However, they are commonly found with jungle hunter clans. Plus, their hides come in multiple colors, most commonly orange and green and rarely blue.
Desert Hound - Perhaps the smallest group of hounds, Desert Hounds are the most sturdy and loyal breed. Their tough and bumpy hides help them to withstand the harsh deserts and rough sandstorms. Amongst the desert clans, they're held in high regard and a highly respected animal. Desert hounds are also used to help safeguard newborn yautja pups.
Mountain Hound - This group is a little different from their cousins. Instead of living in extreme temperatures of heat, this group lives in frigid mountains. Found commonly with the Isolated Clan, mountain hounds are a loyal and hardy breed (second to the desert). And like their desert cousins, they help to safeguard newborn yautja pups, even using their soft, insulated fur to keep them warm.
Enjoy da spikey puppers!

Can we get any insight into Ashtray's conditioning/training, or maybe Mistress trying many different types of cigarettes to compare the taste (and how they burn him differently)? He's my new favorite little guy :)
congrats, you unlocked some lore! i hope you enjoy the little hints about who ashtray used to be :)
A Step Towards Ashtray
[masterlist]
CW: isolation, captivity, emotional distress, cigarette burn, implied pet whump
Behind the heavy, metal door there is a young man, though legally that description would be wrong. Behind the door, there is a future companion object, handpicked to satisfy his potential buyers in any way possible. But then again, right now he is barely at the start of his journey to becoming a perfect companion object, so Eskil Thorn just calls him a trainee, his trainee.
It had been quite the odyssey over the past two weeks or so, watching the trainee scream and claw at the door, sobbing a certain name. Of course, that did nothing to help him. Eskil knows the recipe to the perfect start is letting the trainees simmer in isolation for a bit before introducing them to their future purpose. Now that the screaming has finally stopped, maybe from exhaustion or his voice giving out, it’s a sign for Eskil to start the process.
Stepping inside, he takes in the sight before him. The trainee is curled on the floor –like a feral dog– staring at him with red-rimmed but beautifully big blue eyes. Bits of ripped-out hair lay around him and Eskil makes a mental note to nip that behaviour in the bud. His golden-blond hair is one of the trainee's assets, which will eventually put him in a high price range and Eskil can’t let him ruin that.
“Are you ready for your lesson?”
The trainee nods frantically.
“Please, sir, anything! I– I can’t– please!” he rasps, inching forward to Eskil.
If he were any other designation, Eskil would love the begging. It’s always a sweet surprise when the trainees exhibit these behaviours early on. Unfortunately however, that won’t be a necessary skill for him, though it is undeniably a promising start.
With shaking hands, the trainee grasps onto Eskil’s pants, his eyes shining with tears. “Don’t leave me alone, sir, please!”
Perfect.
“Sure, I’ll stay with you for a while. But you have to do something for me first.”
See, where the other handlers try to force it, Eskil lets his trainees take their first steps on their own. And to get them motivated, isolation works wonders.
The trainee is basically vibrating with desperation. It’s not his first lesson. He doesn’t beg to be let out anymore, not since they shocked his signature out of him, and he’s given up on insisting on “his name”. Instead, it is a sort of resigned despair that makes him perfectly malleable.
“Wh-what do you want me to do?”
With a smile, Eskil pulls out a cigarette and a lighter from his pocket. Something warm prickles in his chest as he looks at the lighter, a gift from his wife, decorated with small doodles. Slowly, he lights the cigarette and takes a single drag, watching smoke fill the room.
He sits down, his legs crossed, and lets himself be warily watched by the trainee. They stay like that in silence, Eskil sitting patiently, the trainee kneeling on all fours before him like a dog, seemingly undecided between wanting to lean away in suspicion and throwing himself in Eskil’s lap.
Then, he holds out the burning cigarette, inching it closer to the trainee, who just blinks uncomprehendingly. Maybe his future purpose is still beyond his understanding, Eskil supposes.
“Come on, give me your arm, will you.”
The trainee flinches and gawks at him with those big blue eyes, his lip twitching as he suppresses a cough.
“Why?” he whispers, his eyes fixating on the cigarette. Still, he doesn’t move away from Eskil’s vicinity.
“Oh,” Eskil chuckles, “I think you know exactly what for. Now, don’t you want to be a good boy? It’ll be worth it, it’ll all be worth it in the end, I promise.”
Eskil just watches the trainee’s shocked expression morph between conflicting emotions. The promised touch is like a drug in his starved and isolated state. Until eventually, the trainee nods, defeated. He holds out his arm as if he could choose.
Deliberately, Eskil moves the cigarette bud closer and closer to his shoulder. The trainee only tenses up, flinching away from the heat, but makes no move to flee.
The cigarette makes contact with his skin and he lets out a strangled yelp, eyes flitting to Eskil’s face, as if trying to figure out if this noise would be enough to make Eskil leave.
Ash spreads over the trainee’s pale skin. There is barely a mark beneath it yet, but it will come in time—his first burn blister of hopefully many.
Satisfied, Eskil flicks the extinguished cigarette to the side and opens his arms. After a breath of hesitation Eskil pretends not to notice, the trainee flings himself into his embrace, his chest hitching with silent sobs.
He claws into Eskil’s shirt with a feral need that goes beyond the two weeks of isolation, beyond the acclimation period after the walk-in. Maybe he sees something in him, some sort of figure he lost and whose comfort he secretly grieved. It is all out in the open now, the trainee’s soul ripped fresh open for the world to see. A brief burst of vulnerability, soon to be replaced by perfect obedience.
Suddenly, hesitantly, the trainee raises his head from Eskil’s shoulder, catching his gaze with immense sorrow.
“Sir? What… what will happen to my little brother? N-now that he’s all alone and he’s never been alone, I’ve always been there for him and he’s–”
Eskil shushes him softly, laying one hand on the back of the trainee’s head.
“There’s no my for you anymore, never forget that. But I’m sure he’ll manage.”

"I dunno, they had a lot of guns." Lilac mumbles, "Though everything kinda seemed that way. The stuff we got from the market was usually stamped with a gold circle and a red thingy inside it, momma said it was quality control, but whenever I managed to sneak apples straight from the tree, they tasted fine."
Shadow looks at the floor again, hearing the dirt beneath her feet shift as her mind reeled. "I'm not sure why we needed the quality control, but I trust momma, I think. I hope we can find her." Lilac looks up to Orchid's with big trusting eyes that looked brighter than in the last little while.
"Is anyone there?"
The dirt was cold as Lilac woke up, far away from any structure besides a few trash receptacles. She crept around the dumpster, looking for any sign of her family.
Nothing, not a single living soul. Where was she? How did she get here? Where was her brother? Had they already left?
They... They wouldn't have left her, right? How could they when they told her "I love you" every night? When they said they could get through it, if only they were together? Where were they? They had to be around here somewhere, surely they'd be just around this corner...
#handler blue is getting very close to just straight up adopting Lilac#prev#so close yet so far#i need to make another lore post lore post hold on-#maybe in the form of a diary entry this time

Could you pretty please make a list of the people in your au and their superhero/ villain name(s) + their powers/hybrid features if they have any? Sorry if this has been asked already. I had read the fics in your au a while back. And my stupid brain won't let me read it again.
Sure! This hasn't been asked already, actually
There are no hybrid features on any of them. This is, technically, a 100% human AU (except some humans have powers)
I'll put some basics here, and after Even Strong Walls Fall Down is fully posted and there are no spoilers, I can make a more comprehensive list (because some information is revealed in Strong Walls and I want to make sure that's a little bit of a surprise)
Other information that I'm sourcing were things I answered here and here, some of which hasn't actually made it into the stories yet but since I've already posted it to Tumblr, I consider it "known to the audience"
From this fic universe if you're new and unsure what this ask is referring to
Under the cut 'cause this got long!
Tango Tek

Powers: cryokinesis (control of ice/cold), umbrakinesis (control of darkness/shadows, which he generates and can see through) "fueled" by his heartbeat, Sonic Shriek (actually a twist on the umbrakinesis, as it's the heartbeat's volume multiplied exponentially)
Side effects: blue-grey eyes + ice-blue hair while using powers (frost in hair maintains the blue longer) that fades after a minute or two. Sclera of eyes turn black when he's using his darkness, eyes glow slightly to allow him to see through his darkness. Prominent cold aura when powers are in use, barely-noticeable cold aura normally. Skin always cold. Struggles to maintain control over powers when emotions run high

A Little Moxxie Love Lore: Hellmares
Among the denizens of Hell’s native demon population, there are often found to be enough breeds to warrant being classed as their own species much like with succubi & incubi, hellhounds and imps. Such is the case with Hellborn Equines, who are plenty distinct and different enough from the more feral, primal demonic hellhorses seen in locations like Wrath. Aside from obvious qualities like the fact they ca walk on two legs and speak of course, to say nothing of the obvious differential comparisons with centaurs of course. In particular with this demon breed, the Hellmares are often considered highly valued and popular for their natural good looks, which make them very popular for beauty pageants and contests, often thriving as fashion models and of course porn stars.
But many Hellmares are considered quite a commodity in the 7 circles of course for their gifted set of legs, which posses not only great strength (making them very effective in heavy manual labour and farm work, but are also said to have kicks so intense that they can cause severe brain damage or death to anyone foolish to provoke these gals) but especially their speed. Indeed much like ho in the living world, horse racing is considered the sport of kings, Hellmares have found themselves thriving in the infernal depths as professional race track stars. Stadiums are often filled to capacity in locations such as Wrath and Lust with betting booths seeing money change hands as crowds roar and cheer on their favoured racer to glory and victory. Compared to those in hell, demon and sinner alike, Hellmares live a very lucrative lifestyle that can afford them luxury and comfor which they can enjoy thanks to their effort and hard work.
Naturally such racing and pageant queens have owners and handlers to oversee and tend to their needs to ensure and maintain their quality and wellbeing, ranging from well off enough blue collars like Wrath farmers and some of Hell’s blue blood class such as the Ars Goetia. But of course even with the age rate in Hell and the lifespan of the average demon and sinner, no mare can ever manage to outrun Father Time so this has often lead to their managers arranging for their gals to open sure a future generation of champions by passing on their genes. Mainly by arranging them to bred by a high quality stallion but there has been found to be an issue in that regard….Hellmares hate the male of their species. Like they can’t stand them at all.
This is mainly due to several notable factors, chief among them being evolution and genetics as over time, Hell Stallions have all been prone into being all alike in terms of personality. That is to say arrogant douche bag frat boy jock dude bros that would make Johnny Bravo think they got a problem, wanna be Casanova quagmires who think they’re God’s gift to women just because they have big dicks. This obnoxious behaviour as well as the fact that population size ratio of mares to stallions is 6 to 4 at the least, 7 to 3 at the most, makes it an issue when arranging breeding sessions.
This is what has lead to hellmare owners arranging matters to ensure the studs can be enabled for breeding with a practice plenty common in the living world when it comes to horse owners. Utilising a teaser to coax the mares into estrus as its found that certain types of demon males that are visually easy in the eyes in terms of attractiveness and overall personality prove to be very effective in arousing the mares to such a state that in theory, the stallions will be better able to mount snd do the deed. In practice however, it’s said to be that Hellmares in recent times have been more prone and partial to hooking up with their teasers instead, opting to knockout the stallions and trick them into thinking they did a job well done, thus sparing their fragile egos.
Now when it comes to teasers of course, as mentioned Hellmares seem to like partners who are visually appealing and pleasant in personality, the rare sort of diamonds in the rough in a place like Hell, where being a chaotically evil and overall generally shitty person tends to be a default personality setting. But not too far and between as many think, ranging rom easy candidates like incubi and the odd succubi for mares who often swing that way, both if the mare is really looking to teased, hellhounds and of course Imps. For being the bottom rung of society in Hell, some imps are found to meet and tick off all the checkbox requirements in what Hellmare looks for in a teaser. The sweeter and cuter the imp, the more likely a Hellmare will go into heat, most rumours sound and credit the recent trend in Hellmare/Teaser relation especially with imps to one by the name of Moxxie, who’s been found to be quite in demand for his services as a teaser and with good reason mind you.
Naturally thanks to the more superior lovemaking skills of their teasers, the imps in particular, Hellmares have a high success rate of becoming impregnated with any particular traits or qualities their hybrid babies may have being often overlooked or ignored. Though it often especially helps when the babies take after their mother as they produce more daughters than sons thanks to the aforementioned ratio. Not that the owners and trainers will ever notice anyway, especially when the expected results of those kids growing up to become pageant and racing champions is made a reality. Ignorance is bliss particularly when wealth and money are involved.
For those wondering of course, the mares’ Zebra cousins, who often live and reside in the more wilder portions of Wrath are said to pretty much thrive on teasers in their sexual culture in the same manner. Being more open and outright displaying their affection and relationships with their teasers, often marrying them and seeing more pride and no shame in especially being with an imp or preferring them to be their baby daddies over the stallions of their own kind. Yes as you might gather this is because HellZebra stallions are insufferable and pretentious bores who assume their having big dicks automatically makes them absolute ladies men. In fact stallions among Either Hell equine breeds have terrible stamina and staying power in contrast to their quite frankly overrated length and girth of their endowments.
And that’s the basic 101 on Hellmares, their culture and mating habits and for those wondering, expect it to be a common habit tat many other demon breeds and species are especially partial to imps. Particularly and especially imps with very sweet, chivalrous personalities and it should be mentioned that Hellmares and Zebras also thrive quite well in careers in porn where interspecies relations and the chances of getting knocked up are very likely. Skullfuck Prod. is notable for its very high roster membership of these gals and they’ve become quite eager to work with his new rookie sensation, Mysterious M. So business is looking pretty good.
Expect more 101 rundowns on certain demon breeds in Hell down the line but can’t be left out that the heaven equivalent to thse gals tend to radiate a more sensual regal vibe. If pageant Hellmares are sexy pin ups, holy mares are more tasteful gravure models but it’s found that they also share a partial fondness for imps. Seems the stallion issue is plenty common and the taboo nature and aspect in regards to the cultural differences in heaven and hell make it rather spicy and fun. Always the quiet ones eh?

Remain By His Side Ch.2
Chp.1 Chp.3
The funeral of your brother. died in Raccoon City.
You didn't expect to see Leon at the funeral.
warnings: Sibling death, loss of an older brother, mentions of broken family, reader is numb from grief, funerals, military funeral, honestly kinda playing fast and loose with lore and what Leon was doing after RE2, Not proof read at all
The only thing left of your brother was the folded flag in the hands of your parents.
Died a hero in Raccoon City.
Killed in action.
Gone but not forgotten.
Your family was fractured. Your mother was inconsolable. Your older sister was destroyed. Your younger brother was a mess. Only your father was holding his head high, but you recognized the growing cracks.
He was hiding his grief, all to appear strong. For your broken family.
You…had gone numb. Your brain shut off your emotions, unable to process at the moment.
A woman approached you after the funeral. She had short brown hair and kind, deep blue eyes. She introduced herself as Jill Valentine, someone who trained with your brother.
A woman who trained in Delta Force?
She must have been impressive in order to achieve such a feat.
Jill offered her condolences. She gave you a card with her phone number and offered to be a friend if you needed it.
Her words sounded muffled. Apparently your attention span couldn’t handle much else. Your eyes gazed over the funeral attendees. They were all dressed in black. Some were military, wearing the standard ceremonial uniform. Others were civilians. Distant family you couldn’t remember the names to.
Your eyes landed on someone you didn’t expect.
Leon Kennedy.
His arm was in a sling. He seemed out of place. If it wasn’t for Sherry holding his hand, you would assume he wasn’t supposed to be here. but he was here for her, it seemed.
You walked away from Jill in a haze before approaching.
“Hi…” You greeted softly.
Sherry let go of Leon and immediately hugged you. Your hands went to her shoulders and you looked up at the former officer in front of you.
He looked…tired. Probably more tired than you.
“Hi.” He responded to you with a nod, “I’m sorry for your loss.”
You’ve heard that sentence too many times in the past week.
“I’m sorry…” you were about to repeat the words back to him. Who did Leon lose? What was left behind in Raccoon City? What parts of himself were burned away, just like your brother was?
“Thank you.” You ended up settling on.
There was a silence between the two of you as attendees of the funeral mingled and chatted.
“Is…is Sherry being taken care of?” You asked him, lowering your voice.
You haven't been able to take your cousin with you. She had to remain in the government's hands. Even now, you knew the man in the sharp suit and sunglasses behind her was most likely her handler.
Harmless testing. They called it. Yet, you knew it was anything but harmless. They were isolating a little girl because she had been infected and cured of the G-virus. Your cousin was no longer a person in the government's eyes. She was an experiment. A potential threat. Or potential weapons.
Sure, physically she might be fine. But mentally? Emotionally?
Leon nodded solemnly, “I’m making sure of that.” he answered you honestly.
You couldn’t stop the small smile on your lips, “Thank you.”
Sherry let go of your waist to grab your hand with her left. She then grabbed Leon's with her right, keeping the both of you together.
Cute. You thought. You needed something cute today. your brother was now 6 feet under the ground. you needed some joy.
Your attention went back to the former police officer, “How's your shoulder?”
He moved it slightly in its sling, but winced ever so slightly, “It’s fine. The bullet went through, so recovery will be a few months.”
You nodded in understanding. From what you understood, getting shot was probably a 10 on the pain scale. Something you hoped you never had to go through. Your eyes went back to Sherry. She was staring ahead, at the people around you. However, once her eyes rested on your mom, she let go and went over to her. She hasn’t spoken at all. Too emotional or overwhelmed maybe…
It occurred to you that Sherry was here because of him. If Leon and another woman you hadn't met, Claire, hadn’t found her. Hadn’t protected her, she would have been killed by the zombies. Or the bombs the president fired upon the city.
You swallowed, deciding to ask something potentially crazy, “do you need a place to stay? While you recover?”
He was a stranger. It was stupid and potentially dangerous. People have been killed by opening their homes to random people.
No, if Leon was like that, then he wouldn’t have risked his life and limbs to protect your cousin.
His baby blue eyes were wide. Clearly he wasn't expecting such a question, “I..uhm..” He rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand, “I…I’m not sure if…”
“If you need,” you quickly cut him off, hoping to make him feel less awkward, “I have a spare bedroom in my apartment…” It ate at you that Leon, being as kind and caring as he was, didn’t have anyone in the world to turn to. Where would he go? Did he have a place to truly call home ? or was your sympathy based on stupid assumptions?
“I appreciate the offer.” He mumbled, clearing his throat, “But once my shoulder is recovered, I'm….” His words faded off, as if even he wasn't entirely sure where he would go. There was a deep look of sadness in his eyes, “I’m going to be going to basic training.”
He didn’t have a home. Not anymore. Not when Raccoon City was a crater and a pile of ash. So he joined the military. At least he’d have 3 hots and a cot...
“Well…do you need a place to crash until your shoulder is healed?” Maybe you were being pushy. He said no. You should have just accepted his answer. or maybe he wasn't allowed.
There was a feeling in your heart though, that you should fight for him. Keep him in your life.
It was appreciation. Without him, Sherry would be dead.
Honestly, offering your spare bed to him was the least you could do.
Leon seemed unsure. Maybe even slightly embarrassed, “I…don’t know.” He admitted after a couple of seconds.
You frowned, “well…” your eyes looked around, “Wait here.” Your steps lead you to your moms side. Wordlessly you dug through her black purse and pulled out a pen and some old recipe. She didn’t mind, you've done this many times growing up.
She was always prepared. Always had something on hand for any occasion.
You walked back to Leon, scribbling your apartment phone number on the small piece of paper. He looked confused, flustered even, when you handed your number to him, “Feel free to call me if you change your mind.” You smiled at him, hoping he’d accept at some point.
He awkwardly took the paper from you and after a few moments nodded, “Right…thanks.” he mumbled, unsure what else to say.
You were about to speak when your dad approached, putting a hand on your shoulder.
It was time to go.
“I hope I'll hear from you.” You gave Leon a farewell smile before stepping away to rejoin the remains of your family. To your surprise, or perhaps worry, you hadn’t cried yet. You were the only one among your remaining siblings that held it together.
Honestly, at this point, you knew the moment you were alone you’d finally break. Finally cry, scream and sob over your brother. But right now, you’d take the numb feeling. The deep nothingness that overwhelmed your mind.
Sherry was pulled back to her handler, and you watched her rejoin Leon. he was looking at your number before slipping it into his pocket. The two of them were ushered away, most likely going back to…wherever the government decided they’d be.
Good. you thought to yourself, Maybe he’ll call.
You returned to campus 6 days later. And the wired phone in your apartment rang 2 days after that.

one hc per thumpie GO!!!
-noobie loves strawberry scented products, the smell hits you like a truck when you enter their room -furface sometimes likes to chase after butterflies but deliberately not catch them just to keep the chase going -long ago, fwoot got punched in the face so hard it warped their upper jaw, deleted their nose, and gave them a black eye on both eyes forever (my random explanation i came up with just now on why they look like that) -butter absolutely adores spooktacle and is besties with rare punkleton :) -rawt likes to eat mud and cement sometimes, it's kind of gross -recess loves to make paper airplanes. often, the wind blows them into the branches and leaves of the Bawnzi where they get stuck, much to the great leaders' annoyance. -tawooo likes to perch up at the very top of the tree and stick their feathers into the KaLnöOd sigil to mark their territory -orange flippy isn't very rational and often makes stupid decisions. they deliberately knocked out their tooth and replaced it with a gold one to increase their monetary value. they plan to replace their entire body with gold within the next year (it's not even real gold). yellow flippy is terrified. -boooo laughs like an evil cartoon scientist -gahwg will disappear into the waters for weeks on end and then just casually return sopping wet and thumping stumpies like nothing ever happened -mosh cannot be trusted around musical instruments. they will play the most divine riffs you've ever heard in your life and then smash and destroy it like an overdramatic rockstar -rhootz' nose probably grows when they tell a lie like pinnochio, except they never lie so it never happens -kal's current special interest is electricity and the supernatural monsters that wield it. they read every bit of lore the monster handlers publish on the subject. -anyanka is the biggest gamer out of all the thumpies, and they like racing games -chesh likes to bring random things very high up the tree and drop them. chesh has broken very many valuable possessions by doing this -gooie's favorite color is blue. they love blue so much they randomly turned blue once. no one has any idea how that happened -skwee hates gentle, affectionate touch like headpats and boops. they love rough touches like punches and smacks (not too hard though) -yuckles stores all their possessions in their hat, which has infinite space -chomph once gnawed a huge chunk of bark off the Bawnzi. this made kartoof absolutely livid. -mace is the biggest thumpie. they're also not very bright. most of their brainpower runs on war -kartoof's distinct, magical language is said to have originated from the trees themselves. kartoof's fluency in this language is what lets them perform their many powerful incantations and rituals. -izit loves peanut butter and will devour entire jars of it and not even wash it out of their fur, it's absolutely disgusting -gof can see very well in the dark. they will screech if you turn the lights on -bamf blinks sideways (i know they canonically don't but i like to think they do) -ruff once got bit by the stump creature oof owie ouchie -tumble loves to roar at everyone, it's absolutely adorable -bangers once traveled to party island expecting to see a sick rave and was utterly heartbroken when they found out there wasn't one -ka8lyn is a surprisingly good swimmer -jon uuh eats rocks or something idk -frankie admires the moon and sees it as a role model -mumsy lost their sight by staring at the sun too much -scoot has a rare condition called carpal hyperplasia (i pulled out the medical terminology textbook to make this one up im such a nerd), where a thumpie's vestigial paw bones overdevelop into actual paws. the paws are nonfunctional.

Dear Brother - Ch02 Supplemental Lore
The Deep Eyed Crows
In order to deliver coded messages and contracts, the Dark Brotherhood in the world of “Dear Brother” utilizes creatures which both are and are not crows. These courier birds are usually kept uncaged near Sanctuary wilderness, where they mill about like normal birds. Their use allows the Brotherhood to discreetly relay messages across and between provinces without the unnecessary risk of a third party courier. Dark Siblings known as Crowcallers are responsible for their care and training, though some crows reside more permanently with Hand members outside of their primary Sanctuaries.
At first glance, these creatures are simple corvids, but with closer examination, one will find that their eyes are unnaturally-matte and that their feathers do not reflect light as expected. They do not caw unless they “have something to say”, according to Crowcallers, and they are known to stare with very little emotive gesture. The eggs of a normal crow are speckled and blue, whereas the eggs of a Deep Eyed Crow are so black that they may as well be a hole in the world. Brotherhood beliefs indicate that these crows are touched by the Void, but the mechanism of that process is neither well understood by core members nor known at all by laity. Due to this, the method of communication largely fell out of use following the group’s deterioration at the turn of the Fourth Era.
Near the end of the Third Era, Deep Eyed Crows began behaving mysteriously towards their handlers.
Sacrament Contracts
These are binding agreements drawn up by Speakers when laity perform the Black Sacrament to commission a death. The word Sacrament can be used as shorthand to refer to both the contract and contract-giver interchangeably, as they are often thought of as one in the same. Listeners receive word of a Sacrament during the *Iter Communion, a weekly ritual when the Night Mother’s spirit is most focused within her corpse. At the height of Dark Brotherhood operations in Cyrodiil, typical contracts are expected to be resolved within the month unless otherwise specified.
Speakers denote the rank of a contract by writing them with a different color or medium. This helps organize which pool of Siblings they will be assigned to when returned to the Sanctuary.
Charcoal - Rank 1
~30% of all contracts are Charcoal This type of contract usually targets commoners and individuals regarded as low-threat. These contracts are often straight-forward and don’t usually take long to complete. Canon examples include: Valen Dreth, Faelian, Rufio, Grelod the Kind. This is the second-most frequently received type of contract, and the clientele tend to be of lower or working class. Typically requested by the powerless and those without recourse to law enforcement for reasons of revenge, safety, opportunity, etc. Although there is still a minimum fee for this type, it is regarded as a charity and a duty to the faith. This type may be carried out by any Dark Sibling: Murderers (Unblooded & Blooded), Slayers/Eliminators, Executioners/Assassins, and Silencers.
Red Ink - Rank 2
~60% of all contracts are Red This type of contract targets the gentry and individuals regarded as medium-threat. These contracts are most likely to have particular requests attached and may take longer to complete. Canon examples include: Francois Motierre, Baenlin, Gaston Tussaud, Hern the Vampire. This is the most frequently received type of contract, and the clientele is often of upper class. Typically requested by politicians, white collar criminals, scorned lovers, competitive merchants, etc. This type may only be carried out by Executioners/Assassins and Silencers.
Violet Ink - Rank 3
~10% of all contracts are Violet This contract targets nobility/royalty, military officials, and high-threat individuals. These contracts often require complicated coordination and multiple stages across a longer span of time. Canon examples include: Adamus Phillida, Celedaen, Warlord Roderick, Emperor Titus Mede II. This is the rarest type of contract, due to the expense and the risk that may also affect the contractor. Typically requested by upper class and nobility, but in some cases commoners may pool resources to eradicate a powerful individual. This type may only be carried out by Silencers.
*The Iter Communion, performed every Iteris (Turdas) by the Listener. This cyclic holiday is largely unknown to laity - some Sacraments can go on for days without being contacted because they unknowingly performed the rite directly after Iteris. The Night Mother thus won’t commune their rite with the Listener until the following week.

"Indeed." Blue's tone leaves no room for argument. "Whilst I have no idea how she'd like you to address her, she prefers most to call her Shadow."
Questioning and Revelations
After some medical attention, Kai (@agent--shadow) finds himself inside one of the agency's interrogation rooms. Several signal blockers have been set up, cutting him off from any outside communication.
Handler Ellie walks in the room, her eyes cold and strict. She puts down an analog recorder, several digital microphones and cameras have littered the room.
"I would appreciate it if you would cooperate with this questioning, young man." Despite her words implying it was a request, her tone was clearly implying that it wasn't an option to be uncooperative.
She checks her watch, checking the time. If her guess is right, Handler Blue (@blueorchid-95) will arrive in half an hour. She would've heard about Kai's location around this time and once she hears about this, it would not be pretty.
#handler blue reblogs#lore wise Lilac lost her arm after joining the agency right?#which means kai just confessed to taking off shadow's arm after blue and shadow had started bonding#so blue does not know what to make of this situation

So I made this with the idea of a lil swap AU. It wouldn’t really change anything from your Wine and Feathers AU, just the roles of two characters my friend and I have
Meet Zane the Spix Macaw! I designed his harpy design but the character is my friend @ikari-shinsei’s (you can check out their blog, their art be so good-) who would have originally had the role of Daniel the Pheasant and Adira the Owl’s handler in the Wine and Feathers. In this version, he would come from Brazil, being able to speak Portuguese AND English unlike Pheasant Daniel who would be Zane’s handler in this one. Daniel, being half Portuguese and half Chinese would be able to understand Zane when he speaks Portuguese (they often gossip in that language lol-) a Although he is quite lonely, he hides it behind a mask of a chill, suave, confident and joyful bird, his loneliness coming from the fact he is a very valuable harpy for the casino due to his species nearing extinction so we imagine he would be heavily protected and have minimal contact with other harpies (at least at first) and almost no human interactions besides some human workers, the one who gets to see him on a daily basis being his handler Daniel. Due to this, he is quite affectionate with him and likes snuggling with him and Daniel adores him a lot. Zane would revert to Portuguese when upset for a while so only Daniel (along with Diane but she doesn’t see Zane often) is able to understand and comfort him while he is like this.
He could either be a performer or just stay in the safari area (probably the second), either way he would like any type of contact with others either harpies or humans.
His relationship with the Peacock Trio would not be fully determined considering he would stick in his area often for his safety at first but he would most likely find them cool, if anything a bit cocky. The trio and him are highly valuable but there is a difference in said value: the peacocks are valuable due to their uniqueness and beauty from the rest of their species while Zane is valuable due to the LACK of his species.
My friend had originally suggested him being a rooster since we have an AU where he is one (well rooster demon but similar-) but seeing as though the casino only takes exotic animals, we changed it to Spix Macaws since, well, they blue and Zane’s thing be being blue and the Spix was perfect (love the Rio movies too-) and it gave us a chance to give him lore since Spix Macaws are extinct in the wild and so we decided to play a bit into that being the reason why he is almost (if not equally as) valuable as Sun, Moon and Eclipse.
Not only is he beautiful, but I love the lore too!! I love the name Zane because it reminds me of my favorite character from a childhood show. Also as so as I saw spix macaw, my mind went to Rio. Thank you for sharing!! Also what does Daniel look like as a human?
(I'm trash at drawing humans, but would you guys be mad if I drew Sun, Moon, and Eclipse as humans? Just for shits and giggles?)

After Operation: KBOOM in IEYTD3, every Phoenix came back to life and assumed separate bodies which is very cool :D As a reward, they got their own special office! It has to be shared though, the Agency doesn't have that much money.
some of this lore stuff is outdated. because i keep changing it and not writing it down :(
CRIMSON
MAYFLOWER
PERSIMMON
MIDNIGHT
[note - Midnight's lore has been changed to him not dying, instead being saved by Zinc in Operation: KBOOM, kind of like with Doctor Who and his bi-generation with the 14th and 15th doctor. Unfortunately we get less Zinc screentime, but at least we can change it so that Ollie gets to live in Hot Water, and we move the dramatic Midnight scene to KBOOM which is cooler cause Prism exists! Also now that I think about it we should add some more Ollie into the lore heehee]
ZINC
[note - Zinc's lore has been changed to him only appearing in Operation: KBOOM. angst go brrrrr (i keep teasing story stuff that even @/bewithdagays doesn't know abt heheheh)
