Hi! My name's Zen, at @zanyzendraws.

I'm currently writing a webcomic, and Daisuke is one of the characters! I thought it'd be funny to roleplay him so you guys can get a taste of him prior to the comic's release.

The content on this tumblr will in fact take place prior to the webcomic's pilot events, so I can't answer any questions regarding important plot points or spoilers... sorry!

Area type: City/Metropolis 

Population: Very large

Run by: Government (formally); Okazoe crime syndicate (presently) Temperate: Humid, rainy, foggy. Freezing nights, sticky, hot days.

About

Neo Tokyo is home to over 6 million people who live in the country of Ragaan. It is highly technologically advanced, and used to be a wealthy capital.

However, with the invention of RED, a virtual gateway and ‘cloud drive’ where people could upload themselves into a cyber-scape, things have become increasingly brutal.

RED let the minds of the city’s citizens store information, money, and even dreams, in the security of a shared cyber space, used by both people and government-controlled A.I.

It wasn’t long before the technology touched the middle classes, who couldn’t afford the same level of viral protection as the wealthy--the valuable data they stored inside RED became tempting to the poor, who began finding ways to hack inside by taking advantage of the technology’s weak spots.

Mind hacking became a dreary reality for the people of the city. Their memories and cyber-selves were anything but safe in the onslaught of mental crimes being committed; as viruses and Trojans were enhanced every day.

Great minds broke apart under siege by ruthless, black-hat hackers who sucked their sanity away for themselves. Soon, the back bone of the government had been gutted, as most officials were brain-dead shells of the people they’d been before.

Crime rates soared; anarchy, and bloodshed reigned. In Neo Tokyo, gangs fuel the economy, and only the best of hackers are able to secure their own futures; their own ‘selves’.

The N.T.G (Neo Tokyo Government) did the last thing in their power, and shut down the city into something of a ‘globe’; a barrier dome that surrounded it, and rendered RED ineffective in any other part of the world. This prevented any help from getting in, but also prevented the world-shaking abomination from getting out.

Ever since, Neo Tokyo has become something of a corpse of what it once was. It stands as a ruined shell of a once thriving metropolis, a dark city of vice and violence, where only the most brutal survive.

Timeline

2570: [RED is introduced as a concept by Hanashima corp.]

2571-2586: [RED is put through secret testing in an underground lab, funded by Hanashima and run by the Ijoji crime family.]

2586: [RED is leaked to lower-class gangs, and the government quickly tries to obtain the data and coding for itself.]

2587: [Military action is taken against black-hat hackers; citizens are petitioned to join the army.]

2587-2590: [First-ever cyber war] [Public upheaval as gangs and defenses forces clash inside RED’s cyberspace. Neo Tokyo residents’ become victims of mental terror attacks; many are hijacked to be slaves to syndicates, and replace fallen men.]

2592: [Neo Tokyo government crumbles; Okazoe syndicate comes into power]

Some art that I've made while gone that I enjoyed. I do know for a fact I've definitely doodled more than this but I've probably either deleted it or misplaced it. I hope this will suffice for now!

At times it does feel pleasant to create and not stress about quality like I normally do. I just made these because I felt like it.

Today I decided to take a break from writing stuff for my project itself (but that was for the day, not the night muahahaha)

I might post the concepts of character bedrooms later on! I feel like I should stop being as secretive about this project
