Chococat is here! He's so soft and fuzzy, and so cute! I love that his sleeper is a little baggy on him; it makes him seem a little smaller than he is, and Chococat is usually depicted as shorter than the other Sanrio characters. Idk if they did that on purpose or if it's just a coincidence, but either way it's adorable ❤️

The fur they used is short, soft, and fuzzy; it's a really nice texture! It is a little shiny in some lighting but I'm not bothered by it, it doesn't feel cheap or scraggly so I'm happy! The felt whiskers are easy enough to ignore but I might eventually replace them with a softer fabric. I'm also not super crazy about the fabric on the feet; the name decal adheres better to it than minky but it just doesn't feel nice to touch. Also it attracts lint and fuzz. But that's personal preference, Build-a-Bear did a great job with Chococat (despite the few loud complainers who might claim otherwise). It fits with the new Sanrio line and makes some improvements on the old design. The facial proportions are better on this one, and tbh I prefer the embroidered eyes over the way they had the fabric for the whites and the pupil being a safety eye. I also think the new whiskers will be much more durable than the string ones. The nose flocking is also really cute, and a fun touch!

I also love his little friend, Nutz! He absolutely looks like a bear more than a hamster, but tbf that's pretty on-model because he looks like a bear in the character art too lmao. He's really squishy and soft, and his bow tie is charming!

One of the perks of having children is sometimes they outgrow clothes that can be recycled into BJD clothes. It’s no secret that I like to recycle clothes anyways.

I negotiated with my youngest and in exchange for his too small Spider-Man shirt, I must make his smallest squish mallow hamster a tiny, hooded Spider-Man shirt complete with decal.

Elliott has called dibs on a shirt as well.

05. What’s their most useless, weirdest, or least marketable skill?

she has… so many. The first thing to come to mind is that she likes to make her own paper fortune tellers for fun, including color schemes and descriptions. They are usually random and utterly counter productive (as opposed to deliberate and productive paper fortune tellers). You know, those things that you would make in elementary school.

08. If they were an animal, which one would they be? Which one would they think they’d be?

i think bree thinks that she would be a platypus since that’s her favorite animal, but i hold firm that she would be a golden retriever with a bit more energy than your average golden retriever. that’s just her as a person, her essence if you will.

22. are they a dog person or a cat person — or something else?

bree appreciates and loves both; in her old neighborhood, a cat named ‘cool bean’ would come by often to sunbathe on her porch or be fed, and so she has fond memories of him. sometimes dogs can scare her by being too loud or energetic, but more often than not she is a fan of both! bree didn’t really have her own pets growing up, but she was constantly surrounded by all kinds of other peoples’ pets, ranging from cats to dogs, to rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters, to chickens and ducks… the list goes on.

23. what’s one childhood memory they’ve never forgotten?

there was a period of time when bree was very young where she and her mother, june, were essentially homeless and slept over at many people’s houses and traveled everywhere, living out of their volkswagon van. a lot of times, this sort of living situation would spell disaster or even go so far as to create childhood trauma, but bree was very lucky in that sense. june made a lot of friends with good, warm, supportive and open minded people. they lived like that for a few years until bree’s grandfather passed away and june inherited enough money to be able to buy them a house in portland, oregon.

47. are they an early bird or a night owl? 

most definitely an early bird! bree has been naturally waking up every day around 5 am for as long as she’s been alive, regardless of what time she goes to bed. she enjoys watching the sun rise and having long, productive mornings.

60. What are some of their simple pleasures?

bumblebees lazily flying from flower to flower. sunny spring days. the smell of freshly cut grass. hot apple cider in a pretty mug. the feeling of paint or wet clay in her hands. making wishes on dandelions and blowing them away. unexpected hugs. glow in the dark star decals. people watching. giant sunflowers. pairing bananas and nutella together. collecting small things from nature like rocks and mushrooms. the texture of softly worn paint brush bristles. the color yellow. when natural light shining through a window creates a rainbow, or rainbows after it rains. words of affirmation that are laced with kindness. making friendship bracelets. peeling an orange and being able to share it. peanut butter.

officially 9teen today !! i know no one will see this, but i honestly didn’t think i’d make it this far!! i’m happy for myself

i, my mom, and my sister when out shopping today. i got a supernatural pin from hot topic, a gloomy bear car decal, and a sad hamster meme pin. from five below, i got a bobs burgers key chain to hang from me rear view mirror, and a few necessities (new phone charger, my cat chewed mine in half, and a charging bank for on the go! my phone tends to die quick, but it still works pretty good ^_^)

i also got an invader zim backpack! from five below!

i received many birthday texts, and messages on my fb timeline. i’m glad to be 9teen, i’m the person i wanted to be when i was younger

(the only con of today :: 99% sure applebees gave me and my mom food poisoning…)

Gundham wasn't buying it, but he also wasn't about to push the issue. If Kazuichi wanted to talk, he would, and he'd only close up all the more if Gundham were to try and goad it out before he was ready. So he only huffed out a sigh, standing from his bed with a stretch before stepping towards his dresser.

"Very well, though I feel the need to reiterate that I would not judge you for that which you cannot control. What our mind conjures during slumber is of it's own design, not ours." Pulling a t-shirt and pajama pants from a drawer (the pants covered with a series of cartoon hamsters, and the shirt with a sunflower decal across the chest, both a gift from his mother), he sent a reassuring smile Kaz's way. "Perhaps the devas would be willing to hear of your woes in place of myself?"

A thinly veiled offer to get whatever it was off his mind to an audience that had no way to judge him, Gundham then excusing himself into the bathroom to change, though taking several minutes longer than necessary to not interrupt should Kaz actually be speaking to the devas.

Talking would help, but there was a problem. As much as he would like to get it off his chest, the nightmare was about the other, and knowing Gundham, he’d somehow think it was his fault for worrying him so much, or some bullshit like that. “…No,” he lied, glancing away, “but…” Having you near would help. He couldn’t just say that, though, obviously. “…you can just, go to sleep.” And maybe end up getting all cuddly was someone he was definitely not thinking about. Not at all. Not even for a moment.
