Went to Oishi Japanese Kitchen for dinner last night. First time there. I got their chicken gyoza as an appetizer. They were really crunchy. They gave me an extra gyoza because they thought they overcooked/fried it. I don’t mind them this way, though. I gave the extra one to my parent. They didn’t give me very much of the dipping sauce. I got their hamberg steak. It comes with miso soup, rice, and apparently a salad. The miso soup wasn’t very good. I haven’t liked the miso soup in any Japanese restaurant I’ve been to. The salad wasn’t mentioned on the menu, but it was good. Nice dressing. I thought the hamberg steak would be more like the Salisbury steak my mom used to make. (From what I’ve read about it and seen.) However, theirs seemed more like a meatloaf with a ketchup based sauce. My mom used ketchup on her meatloafs, too. So it still was something similar. It was good. So good I had it all, most of the salad, most of the rice, barely any of the miso soup, and half of the gyoza. If I go there again, I want to try their ramen and tuna salad or salmon rice balls. They sound good.
