Special Halloween Party Event

Chapter 1: Summoning Ritual

This is a rough translation of the story. You may encounter minor errors on the way, please be understanding and considerate (⁠*⁠´⁠ω⁠｀⁠*⁠) With that being said, enjoy reading!

October has arrived, the season of Halloween is upon us. The mansion is lively, pondering what kind of Halloween we'd do for this year. One day... Me, Berrien and Miyaji are waiting for a "certain someone" in front of the mansion's door.

Clop... Clop... Clop...

Berrien: Oh, Elvira-sama's carriage has arrived.

Miyaji: She said she has an urgent request according to her written letter... I wonder what exactly happened.

I hope it's nothing too serious.

Elvira-san comes down from the coachman seat as I said that.

Elvira: Pardon me for my abrupt visit, Master of Devil butlers.

Greetings.

Elvira: Things have gotten a tad troublesome on my end...

???: Looks like the horses have stopped?

???: Have we arrived~?

Kitty: Hello! I am Kitty! Nice to meet you!

Berrien: Aruji-sama, do you know this person?

Yeah.

Elvira: I get it now... It appears that Kitty-chan and the others were summoned from your world.

Berrien: Summoned...?

Elvira: I'll explain the situation.

[According to Elvira-san's story... Another witch performed a certain summoning ritual... And as a result, Kitty-chan and her friends were summoned to this world from the looks of it. The magical effect is only temporary... So they can soon return to their original world in a few weeks... But the witches' territory is an extremely harsh environment... So they were brought here to the Devil's Palace.]

Miyaji: In short... The urgent request is to take care of these children for a few weeks?

Elvira: Indeed, it is.

Berrien: Indeed. We have to inform the other butlers about the situation...

Miyaji: Yes, it is me.

Cinnamon: Amazing~! I wonder if I can make it too?

Miyaji: I'll teach you how to, so would you like to make it together with me tomorrow?

Oh, huh? The one standing there is...

Miyaji: Oh, forgive me for not noticing your presence.

Heard of Puppeter (PS3)? If not, well the summary is(pulled this from Wikipedia) “The story occurs in a concave world representing Earth's Moon, inhabited by pseudo-folkloric characters: the first half on the dark side of the Moon, and the second half on the Earthward side. Its premise states that the world's ruler, the Moon Goddess, was overthrown by her subordinate, Little Bear, when the latter seized her 'Black Moonstone' and the magic scissor-set 'Calibrus', and declared himself 'Moon Bear King'. Throughout the game, each of his twelve generals (the animals of the Chinese zodiac) has set part of the moon-world in disorder: each holding a portion of the Goddess' 'White Moonstone.’ The player-character 'Kutaro' is one of many children whose souls were spirited away from Earth in their sleep and changed into animated wooden puppets to be enslaved in the King's mobile fortress, Castle Grizzlestein. After having his head pulled off and his soul devoured by the Moon Bear King, Kutaro is found in the dungeons by the Goddess's cat, Ying Yang, who leads him to his current mistress, the Moon Witch Ezma Potts. Potts, who is secretly planning overthrow the Moon Bear King herself, orders Kutaro to sneak into the throne room and capture the magic pair of scissors Calibrus. This weapon allows Kutaro to dispel the King's magic and defeat his puppets to release the souls within, allowing them to escape back to Earth. Under Potts' guidance, Kutaro and Pikarina venture to the various realms of the moon, to vanquish each general in turn: the Moonwood Forest guarded by Rat and Snake, the Moonshine Sea patrolled by Pig and Sheep, the Wild Wastes trampled by Bull and Horse, Hallowee-Ville controlled by Dog and Monkey, and the Land of Time conquered by Rabbit and Rooster, ultimately facing off against Dragon. When the White Moonstone is re-assembled, Potts revealed to be as the Moon Goddess as she transforms back; but is instantly trapped by the Moon Bear King, and must be rescued by Kutaro. Propelled thereto by a cannon, Kutaro and Pikarina disable Castle Grizzlestein and reduce the Moon Bear King to his former shape of Little Bear, who surrenders the Black Moonstone in exchange for Kutaro's friendship, and restores Kutaro's head. All the twelve Generals are resurrected and converted from evil to good; and Kutaro, accompanied by Calibrus and Ying Yang, returns to Earth.” So the very reason I brought this up is cause uhhh, you think you can make it AU for twst here?

Hmmm... As per see... I have a hard time understanding this... But it lowkey reminds me of that Sonic and king Arthur game, so at best, I tried to cook out an Au that is inspired by the 2.

Bear with me anon... I'm dumb :'3

Say a moon kingdom... But since we are dealing with the afterlife motifs, I say something else: a kingdom that can be manually accessed only from the moon, otherwise with the help of magical scissors called keys. These scissors were made out of a special metal called Starlight platinum, which made them all the more powerful, for they have to be infused with pure light moon energy in order to function as a gateway in between the moon kingdom and the earth.

Now... What is Light moon energy? (LME for short) It's pure energy that the moon lands generate over the souls that have made peace with their death, as such, their afterlife is short lived if not bearly a few seconds as they can fully rest and their energy to become distant stars.

It's opposite force, meant to have balance, it's the Dark moon energy (DME for short) that is cultivated on the dark side of the moon, where vengeful spirits and those filled by dark/evil thoughts are punished until they get destroyed. As such, it's a very volatile energy, which can quickly consume the poor of will. LME is it's only cure, but at the same time, both are on same power level as long as they are in balance.

Now, who's living in this place? Well... Moon people and creatures alike. They all depend on the moon energy balance, as such they can do some small magic, enough to help them with their day to day life.

But it all seemed to change once the 'dark era' began. An overtake of DME, overtaking by force the lighted side of the moon. As such there was an imbalance and less stars seem to be born, despite peaceful spirits coming in like they did all these years ago.

But! We need to meet our protagonist after all~ :3

We are following Malleus, a pretty normal guy... He's a bit introverted, a bookworm and is absolutely mesmerising until he opens his mouth and spurs his undying love towards gargoyles. :'3

One day, he is involved in an accident, where he manages to survive, but Sebek, Lilia and Silver don't. That's tho, when strange things happen.

One guy with fire hair and all clocked in darkness came up and declared that Malleus should have died, since his 'clock' stopped ticking. But another guy started fighting the first one. Of course, not wanting to fucking die, Malleus helps out the 2nd guy and as such he is whisked away to the moon kingdom, helping the said guy that saved him, who also explains that the one who wanted to kill him was Idia, one of the 6 moon generals, right hands of the evil Dark moon emperor. To instaurate a 'propaganda' of balance, 3 of the generals (Riddle, Vil and Kalim) are LME bearers, while the rest (Idia, Leona and Azul) are DME bearers. They regin over their assigned districts of the kingdom and since they came to power, there was an unbearable regime.

And as such, Malleus is guided by his misterious helper, uncovering the moon ring. An aincent weapon that is meant to wield both LME and DME, as such the ring was only entrusted to royalty and/or legendary heroes. The ring can transform into various weapons and also it gives Malleus the immunity of not having your life slowly sucked away, as here only the moon people and souls could live. Humans die after a while if not protected by a charm or in this case: the ring. (basically pretty lil outfits for each district)

As such, Malleus begins his adventure, in hopes that he could bring justice and also help Silver, Lilia and Sebek to pass away peacefully.

Now! I really thought about it from a video-game perspective, which tbh, it would be a fun game.

At base, it would have pretty simple mechanics, walk around, interact with the locals of each district(levels) and solve a puzzle that will take you to the district ruler(the boss of each level).

The levels, in question are as follows:

Artsristua district

A district for beauty and fine arts, where souls who dealt in their past life with problems regarding their image are taught how to accept their inner beauty and pass away without a worry. Definitely the easiest to access district, with Malleus's task being to mingle into the backstage staff of Vil, the district leader's show. As such Malleus has to wonder and talk with a lot of people or find sum stuff in order to please everyone and gain himself a spot inside.

Vil's boss fights is more of the tutorial, the tutorial itself being introduced via hunged signboards that our misterious helper is showing to us via the lighting bridge above the stage. Vil's gimmick, despite being a tutorial boss, is a bit tricky. You have to listen to his boss fight music in order to see when he attacks. At first, you might be tempted to attack the singers, but if you do, you allow Vil to have blind spots, in which he can attack you by surprise. The tutorial also says that, as such there's only 1 blind spot when Vil can choose weather to attack or not.

Fantasy district

A place where souls of children venture and pass away happily after they have one more successful playtime. The district itself looks like a mad land, where logic is abruptly left aside. In here, Malleus has to play 3 minigames in order to entertain the children and gain the attention of Riddle, the ruler. Those 3 games are: A game of freeze tag, hide and seek and a life-size magic chess. Once Malleus meets Riddle, his boss fight commences if Malleus makes him angry. Which is pretty easy. :'3

As for the fight itself, Riddle's has 2 stages: Stage 1, where he retains his flowery appearance and only summons 4 guards to protect him: Deuce and Ace, who work as the first pair. Ace defends while Deuce attacks and they switch in between. To defeat them, you have to knock out the attacker and inflict damage on them. As such they are forced to switch until one takes the finishing blow and both have to retreat. Next is Trey and Cater, who have the same gimmick, but more difficult. Stage 2 is when Riddle actually reveals his true colors and you have an epic swordfight with his true form, a fire monster, all in the middle of a ring of flames. Riddle would summon obstacles for Malleus, but alas, once he's dizzy, you can inflict quite a lot of damage in 1 hit.

Seaborne district

More like the very wierd district, which is underwater. Malleus has to get a mer potion, which he steals from Riddle, as such, he gets to explore the underwater kingdom. It's pretty easy to see Azul's grotto, the district leader, but after seeing him and realising his intentions, despite Malleus never getting a peek about who's he's dealing with, Azul puts his henchmen, Jade and Floyd to individually fight Malleus. If he defeats them, Azul will get mad and finally get out of his grotto, revealing that he is a gigantic octopus mer.

As for his boss fight, Azul attacks from multiple sides and also has the foul habit of punching in void with his tentacles. The gimmick is to dodge him until you find a piece of teary eye coral, which you can throw in his face and make him cry, thus vulnerable enough so you can land a few hits.

An important note is that after Azul's fight, he begs of Malleus, telling him that he's doing a big mistake, that he is doing the dirty work of someone else and that he shouldn't defeat them, for they lose their powers and leave the capital castle, where the ruler of the whole kingdom is, defenseless.

Malleus, rightfully is taken aback by this sudden, desperate, approach, but the misterious helper wasn't with him in here, yet they warned that Azul was sly and 2 faced. So he takes it with a grain of salt, saying the he shouldn't trust him. Surprisingly, Azul admits that he is not to be trusted, that he always wanted to gain something out of his deals, but now, now he is so desperate, to the point he gives to Malleus his shell pendant, his sign of status, telling Malleus that the shell is a protective pendant. And it will protect Malleus on his journey. Again, Azul begs of him that it was still not too late to give up on this, but ultimately he lets Malleus go, despite still being very capable to put out another fight.

Sunrise district

A district full of rabid and aggressive spirits, this district is rough and you had to be tough and show no mercy if you wanted to crawl alive out of it. In here, Malleus has to steal different uniforms of police grades via ambushing the people in question. This is how he comes to see face to face with the 2nd puzzle, Ruggie and Jack. In order for Jack to let you pass, you had to bring him something that proves the grade of uniform you have on. As for Ruggie? He doesn't wanna make an extra walk so he asks to find for him a deluxe meat sandwich. Once you gain both of them's approval, you finally meet Leona. :3

And Leona is a very tricky boss. He uses sand to make copies of himself, put obstacles in between him and Malleus and inflict immense amounts of damage via heavy attacks. He, tho, has a weak spot only when he is casting those heavy attacks, so you have to make sure you have a clear way to attack him when he does that.

Unlike Azul, where there it wasn't Malleus's helper so he talked to Malleus directly, Leona straight out addresses to the helper, ignoring Malleus, berating it for choosing such an idiot to do the dirty work. Malleus is taken aback, but Leona charges up a last power attack, which Malleus parrays and Leona ends up unconscious, unable to disclose anything anymore.

You see, that's also when Malleus's doubts start to form.

Manosi district

The richest district, full of luxury from left to right. In here, Malleus surprisingly is welcomed with open arms by the ruler, Kalim, who kindly invites him over for diner. Malleus's puzzle in here was mostly to keep a nice appearance and make the right hand of the ruler, Jamil, to trust him.

Except that the boss battle is Jamil himself, who wants to protect Kalim from the danger that Malleus poses. As such, we get a very epic fight against basilisk Jamil. The trick to defeating him is by defeating Kalim.

Even after the defeat tho, Kalim is accepting his defeat graciously and tells Malleus that he welcomed him because he saw Azul's pendant and knew that Azul put his trust in Malleus making the right decision.

Ceasornic district

In here we re-meet Idia, as this district is only ruled by machines, the tall middle tower being where Idia is residing. In order to reach Idia, Malleus had to make his way through various puzzles and disarm machineries. He also finds Idia in the middle of what one would call a ceremony ritual, him looming over a piedestal with a small pocket watch on it. The watch was ticking and Idia was mumbling how it still had long to go, even so, he couldn't possibly handle the moment it stops. When Malleus comes, Idia halts and immediately tells Malleus that he has an offer for him: He has the souls of Silver, Lilia and Sebek. They died pre-maturely, so Idia came to take care of them until their clocks would've finally stopped and they were ready to pass on. But, Idia could also do various things with those souls, including reincarnating them.

That's when the battle starts, with Idia keeping his distance from Malleus. In here, Malleus has 4 different stages: stage 1 where Malleus gets to retrieve Sebek's watch, stage 2, where he retrieves Silver's, stage 3,where he gets Lilia's and stage 4, where he gets the 4th watch, the one Idia initially holded on the piedestal.

This fight ends with Idia absolutely desperate to retrieve the 4th watch, as that one was of an actual living human. Malleus didn't have any right to tamper with lives of others, neither did Idia. He reveals that he can summon the watches and could only watch them. There are rules in this place. Rules that are meant so that no one could play god. And right now, Idia accuses Malleus that he is a mere human, one who thinks he has every right to waltz inside and fiddle with the balance of everything. But still, if what the other leaders told him was right, maybe Malleus was simply just a pawn. He begs for the 4th watch, as it's everything he wants. He offers to give Malleus his power he offers everything, just give him the watch.

Taken aback, Malleus looks at the 4th watch, noticing that on the side it was engraved a name: Ortho Shroud. He knew the boy. It was a middle school kid that would always come to the library when Malleus happened to also be there. He didn't knew too much, but he wanted to give up the watch, as it wasn't needed.

But Malleus's 'helper', tho, tells Malleus that Idia is lying and bluffing so he would show mercy. As such, they insist on Malleus destroying the watch.

Malleus tho, keeps the watch in his pocket, along with Lilia's, Sebek's and Silver's. And tells Idia that once he is finished with saving this place, he will return the watch back. Idia yells at him that he is not saving anything, that he's a mindless puppet that listens to that monster, but the 'helper' shuts Idia up with a spell.

In the end, we get to the palace, where, surprisingly, no emperor was there. Malleus is confused, but that's when the 'helper' reveals their true colors, as the dark overlord, who needed a human that cheats death in order to harness the power of the moon ring and gain access to the throne.

Basically Malleus did the bidding of the actual dark emperor he initially swore to defeat. The emperor wanted to destroy Malleus, now that they got to the peak of their power, but Azul's shell pendant protects him, cracking up and crumbling apart from the immense power.

Only now realising the actual situation, Malleus sets to make his record straight and fix his mistake, by taking on the dark emperor and using all the power and knowledge he had gained through this adventure.

In the end, the dark emperor is defeated and the generals are given back their powers. When meeting again with Malleus, they are glad that finally, the threat of the dark emperor doesn't hang upon their kingdom anymore. As such, with the moon ring still on his finger, Malleus was almost crowned king, but he denies. He wanted Lilia, silver and Sebek back. That's why he got involved in this mumbo-jumbo in the first place.

But his wish cannot come true. As the 3 watches stopped ticking, meaning the 3 souls came in peace and passed away. Malleus is devastated, but in the end, Kalim is the one that gives him his pair of scissors, telling Malleus that he deserves to live, for their sake. To make them proud by becoming the best version of himself. He tells Malleus that the scissors are now his, so that he could visit them anytime. The ring also was his and they hope that one day, Malleus will raise to be the hero he, himself, wanted to be.

In the end, Idia is the one that guides Malleus back, the latter returning Ortho's watch along with the other 3. But Idia denies the other 3, telling to Malleus that he should keep them, as a reminder for what he strives to be and who he wants to make proud.

In the end, Malleus is back to his normal life and he's happy with it... :3

Part 2 The Halloween Sequels and the links to the Tolerance Film

Introduction

Hello there and welcome to the second part of a blog that looks at the Halloween Franchise of films Part one in our blog covered the making of the original film from 1978 the novelisation from 1979 The Television version of the film from 1980 as well as the remake of the film from 2007 and the Reboot of Halloween from 2018.

Part 2 covers the many sequels that followed Halloween in 1978 and what links Halloween to the Tolerance film.

Halloween II the sequels and John Carpenters original plans

Even after John Carpenter's low-budget slasher movie grew into a massive hit in the years that followed its 1978 release, the director was hesitant about making a direct sequel. Still, he returned alongside his Halloween writing partner Debra Hill for Halloween II, but Rick Rosenthal directed.

Following the 1981 sequel, the Halloween movies went into an entirely new direction, with Carpenter envisioning an anthology plan that would leave Michael Myers behind. Considering Michael Myers' death in the Halloween Ends ending, the next project in the Halloween franchise can follow Carpenter's anthology plan that started in 1982 by genuinely telling new stories outside of the core villain.

Rather than bring back Michael Myers to terrorize *Haddonfield yet again, Halloween III: Season of the Witch dealt with ancient supernatural rituals and science fiction while focusing on an entirely new cast and setting.

The project was meant to transform the Halloween franchise into an anthology series, following a new story on Halloween night for each installment. Carpenter, who made the anthology plan with Hill, intended to leave Michael Myers in the rearview to develop fresh stories. Now that the story of Michael Myers has been on display for decades, the Halloween franchise can take another shot at Carpenter's plan to develop non-Michael Myers stories in the vein of Season of the Witch

Halloween The Tolerance connection

The reason for this deep dive into the Halloween series of films is due to this deleted scene for the Tolerance film that was first published in part 3 of my producers commentary for the Tolerance project Tumblr pages.

Next up is a small extension to the Mr Grosenberg scene in the Job Centre. It is another of Robert's dreams. Perhaps the director felt that it slowed the story up too much, or it did not add anything or perhaps the fact that Grosenberg had a voice like a Helium balloon was enough!

Robert is looking at Mr Grosenberg. Mr Grosenberg is looking bewildered at Robert’s face, but what he cannot see is Mike Myers standing behind him, wearing a ski mask and overalls, and holding a gigantic kitchen knife. Mr Grosenberg turns to see the knife looming down on him and he holds up his hands to protect himself, as the knife swings down at his fingers.

Halloween [ES One-shot]

Based on: Endless Summer

Characters: Jake x F!MC (Myra), the ES gang

Rating: Teen (just to be safe; nothing too dangerous in here. But if any of you find something that should be warned about beforehand, just give me a heads up)

Disclaimer: All characters mentioned belong to Pixelberry.

Summary: Set about a year after La Huerta. The gang’s back, Jake’s name has been cleared, and Michelle’s hosting a Halloween party. Wonder what everyone’s going to turn up as…?

Notes: A Halloween-special fic for you J I hope you guys enjoy it! I apologise beforehand if it’s OOC or if it doesn’t make sense.

“Stop fidgeting!”

“This wig is so itchy!”

“Well, if you would just let me adjust it properly, it wouldn’t itch so much!”

I grumble incoherently beneath my breath as I stare up at my boyfriend. He stands before be, chest to my face, as he continues adjusting the wig on my head. After a few long minutes, he steps away, and gives me a once over.

“….satisfied?” I ask, taking a peek at my reflection on the mirror over his shoulder.

Jake’s grin widens.

“You are pale, with fake bruises, and a messed hair. How do you still look gorgeous? Is it the red hair?” he wonders out loud.

“It must be, because you just spent almost an hour trying to fit it over my head,” I sigh.

“You have a big head,” Jake points out, and I glare at him.

“You know I love you,” he smoothly proclaims, giving me a kiss on my cheek as I turn to leave. I smile, shaking my head.

“Come on, baby; Michelle’s gonna bite my head off!” I rush him again when I see Michelle’s sixth missed call on my phone.

Jake adjusts his glasses and turns to me.

“Let’s go win this, Princess,” he determinedly says.

“Jake, this isn’t a competition. We aren’t winning anything.”

“Not with that attitude, we won’t.”

I sigh as I lock the door behind me.

Michelle and Sean are staring at us – Michelle looks perplexed, while Sean looks more amused than anything.

“So…you are James and Lily Potter,” Sean repeats.

“I thought that was obvious,” Jake scoffs.

“But you are both pale with fake cuts and blood all over you,” Michelle points out.

“We are the dead James and Lily Potter,” I elaborate.

“Too far, Myra. Too far,” we hear Raj’s gasp from somewhere behind us. We turn to see him shaking his head, mouth agape in horror as he finally realises who we are dressed up as.

“What? It’s the 31st of October! Their death anniversary! This is perfect!” Jakes argues.

“This is morbid!” Michelle counters, and I sigh.

“Did you really expect anything else from us?” I ask, and Michelle throws her hands up in defeat.

“Fine, I guess. You’re just gonna upset all of the Jily fans,” she says.

“First of all, you’re just jealous our couple costume is gonna beat your Mr and Mrs Smith look; and secondly, ‘Jily’?” Jake questions them.

Sean smirks as he gently pulls Michelle close.

“Sorry, McKenzie – you and Myra are cute and all, but come on, you can’t beat this,” he says as he gestures to their outfits – bulletproof vests couples with combat boots, tattered pants and tops, complete with a pair of yellow shades.

Unable to come up with a retort, Jake simply sticks his tongue out, and adjusts his glasses (which has a cracked lens, might I add).

“What are you dressed as, Raj?” I ask and turn my attention to him. Raj points to the name tag on his chef’s uniform rather proudly.

“I’m Gordon Ramsay. The chill version, of course. Y’know, when he’s all sweet and encouraging with the kids when they try to cook?” he gives us an easy grin.

“That’s perfect, man,” Jake says as he claps Raj on his back, and the two of them wander off a little further away, no doubt talking of the alcoholic beverages that’s being served.

“Aw man,” I hear a groan just then, and turn to see Diego. He has painted himself blue all over, with a heavy head-piece and ornaments all over him. With his long wig and spots of white on his blue face, I have no doubt who he’s dressed up as.

“Myra, you can’t do this to my favourite couple ever!” Diego sighs as he takes in my costume. “Let me guess: Jake is a dead James Potter,” he states, almost too afraid that he’d actually see my boyfriend.

“Yeap,” I confirm with a grin, thoroughly enjoying everyone’s reactions so far.

Diego groans again and trudges forward so he can hug me.

“You are lucky I love you, Myra,” he says as he kisses my cheek, careful not to smudge any blue paint on me or my clothes.

“I know,” I chuckle, and take a good look at him. “Everything alright?” I ask, gently squeezing his hand.

“Peachy,” he answers, smiling. “I just miss him a little more than usual, y’know? So…figured I’d dress up as something similar. It makes me feel a little closer to him,” he explains, and I swallow heavily.

“I’m here, Diego. Every step of the way. Every time it gets too much, I’m right here, you understand?” My voice breaks a little at the end. I was remembering the first time Diego broke down when we all came back from La Huerta, the sheer anguish that gripped him as he wept for the love he had left behind at the island.

Diego keeps smiling, and nods. “You practically live at my dorm anyway, you and Jake – why would I ever need to call you over? Come on now, I’m hungry” he then says, changing the conversation. I roll my eyes. Wrapping my arm around him, I drag him towards the buffet.

Eventually, hours later, a bunch of us are lazing about the almost empty living room, too lazy to even go back home.

“But it doesn’t even make sense – if you’re James and Lily, then where’s Harry?” Aleister asks. Both he and Grace are dressed as Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald respectively, and to be really honest, they are rocking it.

“Well, I was pretty bumped about the lack of Harry as well. Till I figured there are so many empty rooms in this gigantic apartment; Myra and I can get to work on making that Potter boy right away,” Jake shrugs, and I force myself to lift my leg just a little to kick him playfully.

Grace giggles. “Stop it, Aleister. I think they look amazing. A perfect unison of Halloween and quite an important fictional death anniversary,” Grace quips.

“At least they bothered,” Michelle says, before narrowing her eyes at the other two couple over at the floor.

“Don’t blame us – blame Halloween for coinciding with the release of one of the most greatest games to exist, ever,” Zahra simply shrugs; the words ‘Player #1’ is written clearly on a paper and pasted on the front of her jumper.

Craig, absent-mindedly playing with a paper that reads ‘Player #2’, simply grins. “Yeah, we lost track of the time, so we improvised.”

“You could’ve told me you were going low-key, I’d have done something similar!” Estela snaps half-heartedly, scratching her forehead and then grimacing at the black paint that now coats her finger.

“What are you even talking about? Your Imperator Furiosa was the highlight of party!” Quinn, dressed as Merida (complete with a bow and arrow – Jake had to pry the fake weapon out of my hands long enough to dance with me), exclaims. The corner of Estela’s lip quirks up at that.

“Well, this has been fantastic, but we should get going. We want to get to that son we seem to be lacking,” Jake jokes, and this time, I throw a cushion over at him.

“We, need to get back because Jake has to get to work tomorrow and I need to get to my classes,” I say instead.

“Yeah, I’m dead beat as well,” Michelle yawns and snuggles into Sean.

“Hold on, before we go – let’s do one last shot,” Raj announces, and despite our collective lethargy, we all grab our glasses.

“To Michelle, for hosting one kick-ass party!” Raj booms, and Michelle grins.

“To Halloween!” Michelle follows, and everyone chants the same as we clink our glasses.

Jake, just then, takes a step closer to me so that his lips are at my ear.

“To redheads,” he whispers, and I snort into my drink.

When I have recovered, I lean in this time and whisper, “To Jily.”

Jake groans. I cackle.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN YOU GUYS!

Again, I hope this wasn’t too OOC and lame.

Okay -- weird secret -- but Bee hates, and I mean, absolutely HATES Halloween.

In practice, it should be her favorite. There's spooky stuff galore, the costumes are always really fun and she gets candy out of it. It should be the ultimate holiday for her.

Too bad it's her birthday.

Being born on October 31st, 2001 at 9:00 pm was the worst decision her dumb baby self could've ever made. If she had waited 3 more hours, she could've been born the day after. Sure, it's kind of just as bad, because everyone's hungover and moping about how they already miss Halloween, but nonetheless, Bee considers it significantly better.

Then she got to high school.

Close to 14, Bee Chen has been a superhero (albeit, she's probably more of a vigilante,) for a year and a half. It also means she's been working for Tony Stark for two. Now, this shouldn't be a major difference in her attitude change towards Halloween, but when she goes out to patrol and sees little kids trick-or-treating as Voltage, she starts to see the wretched holiday a little differently.

A month before her 15th birthday, Bee finds out her ex-boyfriend, Peter Parker, is Spider-Man through Halloween. It's not meant to happen - she just sees Peter's "halloween costume" laying in his room and tries on the mask. She's always wondered what it would be like to be Spider-Man. Then she tries it on, and the AI she programmed, KAREN, turns on, and lo-and-behold, Peter's not a Spider-Man cosplayer. He's goddamn Spider-Man.

She tries to look past it, and genuinely, she does - for a bit - but it's hard to take Peter seriously when he starts talking about the Stark Internship again. She knows who he is. That his internship isn't like her's. His is special.

So, she figures out a way to tell him she knows. That they're actually not only amicable best-friends/exes, but they're also partners-in-heroing. So she "dresses up" as Voltage. The plan should make sense, really. There's nothing that makes it seem like it won't work, so she just climbs out of her window, into his, and chills for an hour until he's done with patrols that night.

It's kind of nice to know his patrolling schedule for something like this. She remembers when "Spider-Man" thought of the idea and Bee almost snorted. She's not a Type A person, not like he is, so she almost didn't even agree to it. Thankfully, Spider-Man's pretty damn good at puppy dog eyes for a serial full-face mask-wearer.

Just as she considers leaving,"Spider-Man" pops open the window and just jumps through. How in the world has she never heard him thump as he lands?

Bee jumps into action. "So.....Peter, do you like my costume?" she says in the most comical voice she can think of, standing up from his bunkbed.

Peter - mask already off - stares at her bug-eyed. Huh. Bug-eyed. "How - what - huh -? Voltage - what are you doing here!" She laughs again. She forgets how jumpy he is sometimes. "I'm Bee, Peter."

Peter blinks rapidly. "But you're Voltage."

"Those things aren't necessarily exclusive, you know that, right? Just like how you're Peter Parker and Spider-Man?"

"Are- are you serious?"

"Deadly. Well, not deadly, since I wouldn't like, kill you, or anything, since you're like, one of my best friends, but...you know what, just take my word for it." Peter just stares at the rambling teenager. "Do you want me to like...shock you? Or something?"

"Nonono, I'm- I'm good. No thanks. I believe you. I think."

"You think? Look, I can shock you, I don't think it would hurt-" "You've shocked me-" Peter wipes his hands on his suit in an attempt to calm himself down, "enough for one day. No offense."

"None taken. Now seriously man, when were you going to tell me that you're Spider-Man!"

CatCF Milk Chocolate: Part 2, the Wonders of Wonka

WONKA

For this Wonka, I wanted to go much more into the idea of wonders, fantasy, magic. Excentric, talkative, liking jokes and everything imaginative, very kind to children, he wanted his factory to be a world of pure imagination, a fantasy turned real. He is the kind of person that will literally want to "defy gravity".

I imagine this Wonka to basically be a sort of much more goofy and funny Walt Disney. Willy Wonka also hints throughout the story at his really large family scattered everywhere in the world - a family apparently made of other characters from Roald Dahl's stories (for exemple one of his cousin or uncle is the magician from James and the Giant Peach).

FACTORY

I imagine the Factory, from far away, to actually look like more a magical castle than a real factory. Think of Disneyland's iconic castle ; or the castle of the Mad King Ludwig, the Nuschwanstein Castle - but with a bit more chimneys and metal.

# The Candied Orchard. I think for this variation of the room, I will turn this area into more of a greenhouse type of room, but where Wonka works and study how to create hybrid of plants that will produce candies and treats instead of fruits and berries - such as candied apple trees, and other trees producing candied fruits. The Chocolate River is here as an irrigation system - in order to encourage the trees to produce candies, Wonka gives them chocolate instead of water.

This is where both Miranda Grope and Augustus Gloop meet their demises. Miranda, against Wonka's interdictions, decides to jump in the river and swim in it (just like in Dahl's original work), while Augustus actually tries to gulp down all of the river on his own ( this strange bet resulted from Marvin's mockery and insults at the "big cow being able to drink it all up" being interpreted by the Gloop family as a compliment - and the Gloop parents encourage their son to prove that he is the "biggest and the best" by drinking down all of the river). Of course, Augustus falls in the river, just like Miranda. Augustus doesn't know how to swim, and Miranda maliciously tries to drown him - but they get both sucked up by the pipes. Well... Miranda gets taken by the pipe to the candy making room, and Wonka reassures its parents that usually there's a net to catch impurities. As for Augustus, he gets stuck midway through the pipe, and the pipe ends up exploding due to how big the boy is. He falls down into the river once more - but his weight and height causes a huge wave to crash on the shores, splashing the guests with chocolate.

EDIT: To save the boy, the Loompas (and Wonka) decide to use their new invasions - the Barshmalloy! A marshmallow-buoy! Basically it looks like a regular marshmallow but when put in a great amount of liquid it turns into an enormous "buoy" like thing that will help you float (and you can eat if you need food). It was originally an invention Wonka prepared to help people strained at sea or lost in rivers.

But of course, greedy Augustus, despite drowning, hasn't lost his gluttony and seeing the marshmallow eats it. Which has the strange effect of... turning him into a giant, puffy, marshmallow-boy (think the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters). He still floats and can be saved, though the Loompas have to take him away because he can't follow the tour in such state.

# Given the disaster of the Candied Orchard, Wonka decides to stop by a much safer room (after everyone cleaned up a bit) - the Halloween Room. Kids notice that we are not Halloween yet, but Wonka brushes it aside - it is always Halloween if we want to, just like it is always Christmas or Easter.

No demise here, only a fun scene - Wonka has the kids trying one of his new product, an Hallowee candy that will temporarily turn the kid into a monster. Like that, no need to buy a fancy costume to scare your neighbours, just pop one of these treats into your mouth! And the "costume" will be perfectly adapted to who you are.

Veruca's flesh rots as she becomes a zombie. Violet skin covers in fur as she grows wolf ears and fangs, becoming a werewolf. Herpes Trout's skin becomes green and he grows tusks and a boar's snout as he becomes an orc. Clarence turn into a skeleton (though as people point out there isn't much difference to his usual self). As for Charlie I actually don't know exactly... I thought of him becoming an elf, growing long pointy ears and gaining a sort of beauty.

It doesn't last long, but it is quite fun.

# The Kitchen. It is where Wonka makes his candies, and it looks like a gigantic, fantastical kitchen. Of couse, this is where Violet Glockenberry meets her demise - when she snatches and chews on the "Three Course Gum Meal". As I said previously, no blueberry inflation in my versions - here the demise is based on the "baked potatoes" of the meal. As she chews, Violet sees brown scabs appearing on her skin. They grow and grow, covering her entire body, trapping her into a thick carapace - at the end, she becomes entirely trapped in a giant potato, with only her face being visible. Unable to move or do anything, she can just shout as she is rolled around and taken to the "Peeling Room" to be peeled.

# The hallways. It may seem strange to see them listed in the places of importance, but it is where Veruca Salt meets her demise. You see, she picked up some trash or junk that was in a bin of the Factory, probably because it looked a lot like a product that is recently advertised a lot on television - and despite Wonka's insistance that it is not said product, but merely something resembling it, she refuses to let go of it. As a result, she is taken away by the squirrels, thinking of her as trash.

Oh yes, because I decided to re-imagine the squirrels as actually the "cleaning squad" of the Factory, roaming the building getting rid of all dirt or trash not thrown into a specific bin. They then take it away to the furnace to be burned...

# The Room of HEALTH. The Room of Homeopathic and Edible Answers to Laments That are (frankly) quite Harsh. A new room Wonka recently created in answer to people complaining about the "unhealtiness" of his candies. As a result, you find in there, stored before selling (because it is a storage room, but presented like a museum and a cave, a mix of the two) products that go from licorice that whitens the teeth or cavity-filling caramels to nougat that cleans your skin of acne. This is where, obviously, Clarence Crump meets his demise.

Hearing about this wonderful chocolate that will make you super-healthy because it contains all the vitamins existing in the world, from A to Z, Clarence stuffs himself with it - not hearing Wonka's warning that it is hyper-concentrated and will make you over-wealthy. Clarence doesn't mind being "over-healthy"... until he becomes obese, chalk-white-skinned and grows bull horns. Well, he isn't really obese - it is actually an excess of vitamins, that happens to look a lot like an excess of fat in the body.

The only way to get rid of an excess of vitamins or an over-healthiness is either to ruin your health, either to do a lot of sports and exercise... and while Clarence absolutely hates doing sports, his parents will never allow him to ruin his health. So... to the gymnasium!

The demise is especially ironic because he ends up looking like a "big fat cow" as Herpes Trout points out - and before, Marvin frequently insulted the other kids for being freakish "cows" (with special mentions for Augustus, the "bloated fat cow" and Violet, "the freaky bodybuilder cow"). Hence why he turns into a fat, black-and-white boy with horns.

# The Television Room. Pretty much identical to the original one. The variation comes on the focus here - the point being rather on the difference between reality and fiction. I'll explain: Herpes Trout wants to get into the television to enter its world of hyper-violence and be "cool" like Rambo and other destructive soldier-like antiheroes. Trouble is, when locked inside, he realizes that war is actually no cool game and no joke, and is left heavily traumatized. (And, just like in the original, he gets pulled out and stretched thin in the Taffy room, making a stark opposite to his bulky and muscular original shape).

OOMPA-LOOMPA

I think in this version they will basically looke like Santa's elves. Little pointy eared lutins. I honestly don't have much more ideas for now Xp

ENDING

Charlie doesn't outright becomes the new Factory owner, but it is a promise Wonka makes to the young kid - since he is the only one able to understand the magic and fantasy of the place, he will take Wonka's place one day, when Wonka decide to "go on a great journey to where man never went" (even though, as Wonka says, he might come back one day, with new ingredients, candies and recipes from these places "man never went"). While waiting for this day, Charlie wins the incredible prize of a lifetime supply of candy as well as material and financial support - plus, he is allowed to visit the Factory any time he likes.

The Gloops returned home, Augustus still a marshmallow-boy. The Loompas and Wonka, despite all their efforts, couldn't find how to return him back to normal since no one had ever swallowed a Barshmalloy before. But the Gloops parent don't mind, because now he is "the biggest and tastiest" of the boys around, so not everything is lost.

However, Augustus hasn't been seen or heard ever since he came back to his natal country... Some say he roasted in the dry hot desert. Others claim he couldn't resist the temptation and ended up devouring himself whole. No one really knows the truth.

Violet Glockenberry, after being "peeled", was left with a very soft and sensitive skin, which prevented her from continuing her rash and violent ways. She was forced to live in a soft, conditioned, safe evironment, with only the sweetest things. Unable to do much, she took her frustration on Wonka's lifetime of candy, and now is an overweight, spoiled woman always shouting and screaming for the best quality and what will not "hurt her skin". She actually ended up growing back a tough, regular skin, but she still plays along the role of the "delicate flower" because she grew used to her being the focus of attention.

Veruca Salt, due to her time in the junk and trash of the Factory, became a new type of guinea pig - one for testing diseases and sicknesses in labs. She accumulated so many molds, parasites and other infections in Wonka's dump that she became immune to all sicknesses, basically a sort of living petri dish where sicknesses grow and diseases spread without her being really affected by it.

Clarence Crump... He left the Factory slim again, but still with his horn bulls - as a result his mother tried to hide it by putting her handbag over his head, but the wind blew it away as they left, leading to a public humiliation. Humiliated, he left the fashion industry, abandonned all fame, and became a farmer on the countryside - raising cows. Because his experience actually left him very close to cows, that he thinks as his "only friends" in this world.

As I mentionned, Herpes Trout was left traumatized by the violence he escaped from in the television, and stretched into a tall and very thin boy. Herpes left his family to join a hippie and peaceful community, now spending in time relaxing, meditating and trying to find his "harmony with nature" in places far away from human activity and human noise. He also refuses to go any new technology ever. Computer, television, radio, don't even speak to him about it.

No one knows what happened to Miranda Grope, since she wasn't seen ever again. Some say she got turned into a batch of Wonka's sweets, and others say that it was good riddance - at least now, she can be sweet to people.
