Weedjies: Halloweed Night will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on October 13 via Full Moon Features. From producer Charles Band (Puppet Master, Ghoulies), the 2019 horror-comedy is currently available on VOD.

Danny Draven (Ghost Month, Reel Evil) directs from a script by Shane Bitterling (Puppet Master X: Axis Rising). Brett Hargrave, Victoria Strange, Yo Ying, Johnny Lee, Denise Milfort, and James Adam Tucker star.

When a midnight scavenger hunt for a rare bud of weed known as the Golden Nug brings a group of party-hungry stoners to a haunted hotel, it seems like it'll be the greatest night ever. But when the enigmatic owner, Madam Haze, introduces them to the Weed-G-Board, they open a portal beyond our world, and unleash The Weedjies. This group of ghastly hysterical creatures has only one mission: Party 'till you die. Before Halloween night is over, the unwitting guests will have to fight for their right to party, and put The Weedjies back in the board - or end up sucked into the netherworld forever.

You know, I really wished Ninja stayed as a permanent member of the Toulon puppets, idk even what little we seen of him I found him very enjoyable

It’s definitely a bit of a surprise, considering Axis of Evil was the start to a new trilogy and as small-scale as the marketing may have been for that one, the movie definitely seemed to treat Ninja as a major new puppet with every inclination that he was there to stay. For the book I’m currently writing on the franchise, I did do an interview with Axis Rising screenwriter Shane Bitterling and definitely made sure to ask about Ninja and why he was written out so quickly in that movie and pretty much never mentioned again.

"Reel Evil" (2012)

Aside from being derivative of dozens of other found-footage, asylum films, "Reel Evil" fails in several other ways.  The writing is awful.  The dialogue feels false, forced, and written.  The performances are hokey and hammy.  The film doesn't even try to scare the audience for the first hour.  When it finally gets around to attempted horror, it's simply poorly-done, rehashed tropes of the genre.  There's nothing original, unique, impressive, or exciting about the film at all.  Worst of all, the film feels like it has to stretch and strain to fill a feature running time, which is even more disappointing considering it's barely 80 minutes.  If you're into this type of film, stick with the "REC" or even "Grave Encounters" series.  "Reel Evil" is real awful.

Man!
