@saintjustitude asked me to relate HallowedHarpy's First Video abt Dragons and Targ Women fertilizing them.

Basically, with all the knowledge of Septon/Barth and the dragons' sex is changing as ""flame", Harpy posits that dragons have no real gender and all are capable of laying eggs at some point, but their eggs can only be fertilized once they have a bond with a female dragonrider.

it cannot be possible that every dragon is a male until "proven" female, bc other dragons out of sight of human eyes have laid eggs (Cannibal, Sheepstealer, they came from somewhere) -- female-proven after the fact of eggs laid

Septon Barth-Maester Aemon -- dragons don't have a fixed gender and can change genders (Barth was around Jaehaerys when dragons were around; info he wrote destroyed by Aegon III, Dragonsbane to prevent dragon reproduction...which seems like Barth was telling some truths)

all dragons have the ability to lay eggs (however you wish to conceptualize that) & are genderless

some dragons will go their entire lives laying no eggs bc their ability to lay eggs will depend on size, environment, health, etc.

not all eggs will hatch bec we know from the series that they are laid but never hatched...so that means that they might not have been fertilized

since dragons are not strictly sexed male-female and thus their eggs aren't fertilized by "males", the dragon has to be bonded to a Valyrian-descent/dragonlord-descent woman

in recorded history, there was no dragon bonded to a male Targ or otherwise who produced any known offspring OR EGGS

again, people have assumed that the dragons laying eggs were female AFTER THE FACT

so the "male"-thought dragons may have laid eggs...but they just never hatched

Rhaenyra and Daenerys had hybrid human-dragon babies/stillborns reinforces this idea of bond-w-human-woman-influencing-dragons-fertility -- fertility connection goes BOTH WAYS, dragon affects woman, woman affects dragon

all a consequence (whether intention or not) of all the blood magic to create this bond in Old Valyria

I tried to follow it to get a better report, but it slipped away from me when my fireteam partner approached. Lost track of it near the Hallows. Gonna keep an eye out for more of those strange white collars like it wore."

Daenerys Targaryen and how she Relates back to the Lore of the Realm of Westeros and Essos

An analytic thesis I have been thinking about, heavily inspired by @hallowed-harpy and her videos on TikTok.

To begin with, there's this theory that when the Great Empire of the Dawn broke apart, they separated into different cultures, ie, one branch became the Dothraki, one branch became the Valyrians, etc. And there are theories state the Azor Ahai story is another myth of the birthing of the first dragon (due to the language used between each dragon myth ie when the second moon fell into the son, it cracked and birthed dragons; Nissa Nissa let out a piercing scream, which cracked the moon and birthed Lightbringer). So, if this is all true (and they are all the same story told through a different cultural lens), then figure that was Azor Ahai was the first Dragonlord and Dragonrider and became the foundation for the Valyrians and, in turn, the Valyrian Empire.

Now, in saying this, if Azor Ahai, the first dragonrider, is one of the people who became the Valyrians, and by extension, the Targaryens, are also all related to the Amethyst Empress? This isn't directly confirmed in A Song of Ice and Fire, but there are a few aspects of the lore which do hint at possible connections between the Amethyst Empress and the Targaryens (with them being the most prominent Valyrian family).

Take the physical traits of the two. Both the Amethyst Empress and the Targaryens are strikingly unique in features, including the violet ( or amethyst-coloured, if you will) eyes. This is a very unusual and significant characteristic, and can reinforce their common ancestry. Also, the Targaryens are also known for their silver-gold/platinum hair, which is associated in many cultures with divine or noble ancestry, which can also link them to the mystical rulers of the Great Empire of the Dawn.

Then there's the cultural similarities. Both the Great Empire of the Dawn and the Valyrian Empire are associated with Fire and dragons. Now, the first ruler of the Great Empire of the Dawn is known as the God-on-Earth - an ancestor of the Amethyst Empress. If this theory (and analysis) is true and the Targaryens are descendants and relatives if the Amethyst Empress, then that makes them relatives of the God-on-Earth, too. And this connects with this quote by young Rhaenyra:

"Everyone says Targaryens are closer to gods than to men."

Now, the mythical parallels between the Great Empire of the Dawn and the Targaryens. The Great Empire of the Dawn had the blood betrayal (caused by the Bloodstone Emperor when he killed the Amethyst Empress, his half-sister, and usurped her throne. This blood betrayal ushered in the first Long Night, which is the beginning of the end for the Great Empire of the Dawn (because when the first Long Night ended, every tribe of men under it went their own way ie the tribe that would eventually become the Dothraki, the tribe that would eventually become the Valyrians, the tribe that would eventually become the Rhoynar, etc. This explains why each culture has their own version of the Prince that was Promised prophecy (which is the Westerosi equivalent; where Azor Ahai is the Essosi equivalent; and the Stallion Who Mounts the World is the Dothraki equivalent). This also mirrors how the Valyrian Empire fell apart, and further on, the Targaryen decline in Westeros (beginning with the Dance of the Dragons).

So, the Dance of the Dragons. A big moment in Targaryen history, which is the start of House Targaryen's decline in Westeros. With the Dance of the Dragons, we see clear parallels with House Targaryen and the Great Empire of the Dawn. We have Rhaenyra Targaryen. She is the second reincarnation of the Amethyst Empress. Her claim for the Iron Throne parallels the Amethyst Empress' usurpation by her brother, the Bloodstone Emperor, which, in this period of Targaryen history is Aegon II. And similar to the Empress, Rhaenyra suffers a tragic death by her half-brother.

The Dance of the Dragons also brought about the destruction and extinction of the dragons. With no more dragons, the winters became colder, harsher and longer (which is mentioned by the maesters). And this can be attributed to the fact that the Others are becoming stronger. A second Long Night is coming.

Now, skip to 300AC. We have Daenerys Targaryen. She is the third reincarnation of the Amethyst Empress. But she is not just the reincarnation of the Amethyst Empress. She is also the Mother of Dragons. She brought back the dragons. She rebirthed them. She brought back the fire magic (the opposite to the Ice magic of the world. In George's world, fire means love, fire is passion, fire is sexual ardor and all of these things. Ice is betrayal, ice is revenge, ice is… you know, that kind of cold inhumanity). Daenerys' arc as a saviour and the breaker of chains aligns with the subversion of the Bloodstone Emperor's legacy.

This can be also be applied to Daenerys if she is a descendant of the Amethyst Empress - and by extension, the reincarnation of the Amethyst Empress - whose role can complete the cycle by restoring balance and making sure that light triumphs over darkness. And by doing that, Daenerys will have to self-sacrifice herself. This is in line with the narrative style of George RR Martin. His style often juxtaposes grand heroism with deep tragedy. This act of a self-sacrifice will directly oppose the selfishness and the darkness of the Bloodstone Emperor. This self-sacrifice will symbolise the redemption for the ancestral sins of humanity (and, in turn, heal the maternal wounds of the world).

Daenerys' self-sacrifice will also fulfill the Azor Ahain prophecy, which fortells the coming of a hero to wield Lightbringer (which would be a dragon - a flaming sword in the sky. In Daenerys' case, this is Drogon, whose black and red scales perfectly describe Lightbringer). This will bring an end to the darkness that threatens to consume not just Westeros, but Essos and the rest of the world.

Daenerys' self-sacrifice will restore the balance of Light and Dark, Fire and Ice. Daenerys' self-sacrifice will break the cycle of betrayal and loss (she is the breaker of chains, after all). The emphasis on her being 'the last hope' hints at her mythic role, and her dragons are a resurgence of fire and life.

This ties together the mythological symbolism of the Amethyst Empress and the Bloodstone Emperor that are tied to the first Long Night. It ties in to the fact that Rhaenyra Targaryen is the middle chapter of this Song of Ice and Fire, where her tragedy echoes the past but doesn't break the cycle and resolve it. But it all ties together, with a neat, little bow, with Daenerys. She will be the culmination, whose actions can redeem the past and secure the future of the realms. Of the world of Westeros, Essos, Ulthos and Sothoryos.

This befits the rich tapestry and story created by George RR Martin, where history, prophecy and personal choice are all entwined. It is in fact fitting that with Daenerys being the chosen hero and fulfilling the Azor Ahai prophecy, because this would be a subversion of the classic male fantasy hero archetype, and perfectly fits in with the style of George RR Martin. George frequently subverts traditional fantasy tropes with regard to gender roles, moral complexity, and the nature of heroism.

One of the most important nuances of the prophecy of he Prince That Was Promises is that, in High Valyrian, the word for 'prince' is gender-neutral.

"What fools we were, who thought ourselves so wise! The error crept in from the translation. Dragons are neither male nor female, Barth saw the truth of that, but now one and now the other, as changeable as flame. The language misled us all for a thousand years." ~ Maester Aemon to Sam Tarly

This is a prophecy that is open to interpretation, but Daenerys fits many of the requirements: born amidst salt and smoke, waking dragons from stone, etc. Her journey that we have seen so far is full of imagery and challenges commensurate with any messianic story that makes her the saviour of the world.

However, most of the fandom say the Prince That Was Promised (or Azor Ahai) is Jon Snow. However, his story arc heavily leans into the trope of the reluctant hero, whereas Daenerys pursues her destiny to break chains and challenge oppressive systems, making her role more transformative and revolutionary.

Also, Daenerys has fulfilled the prophecy organically (which happens at the end of the first book, A Game of Thrones). She did so without knowing of the prophecy, and still doesn't know the prophecy (hopefully she finds out in The Winds of Winter. Looking at you, George. No rush).

Now, George RR Martin has said that prophecies are confusing, difficult, and not easy to interpret. People in this fandom love saying this to use it against Daenerys, saying this proves she is not the Prince That was Promised. However, what George has said regarding prophecies relates to a theme of the series, regarding fulfilling a prophecy naturally and organically vs forcing a prophecy to happen. Take Rhaegar, for example. He knew of the Prince That Was Promised prophecy. Absolutely loved it where it brought about the destruction of his house. Jon was born in the shadow of this. He was born in the shadow of forced prophecy. Now, you have Melisandre forcing the prophecy onto Stannis. And when it won't work on Stannis, she will move onto Jon.

But, like I said earlier, Daenerys fulfilled the prophecy organically, without knowing about it. What til Melisandre finds out about that, where she finds out the reason her attempts haven't worked is because they've already happened and happened organically and naturally to Daenerys.

Now, back to George and his subversions. He has made a habit of his career subverting gender roles in unexpected way. Cersei, Arya, Sansa, and Brienne, among others, buck the trend of how women usually exist in fantasy novels, through often very morally grey or imperfect means. Daenerys, with her dragons and leadership, occupied a space usually meant for men and stood very far from a simple embodiment of 'good'. Her messianic figure, torn by power, morality, and identity, finally can strike a much deeper tone when combined with George RR Martin's deconstruction of heroism as suc

Her rise from a powerless abused pawn in her brother's schemes to a ruler commanding armies and dragons is a powerful feminist narrative. So, when she does her self-sacrifice to save the world - to end the Long Night - it would be a culmination of her arc as both ruler and redeemer, complicating the patriarchal norms in traditional fantasy. This elevates Daenerys as the Prince That Was Promised/Azor Ahai/The Stallion Who Mounts the World, and would not only pay service to her arc but will also redefine the way fantasy novels treat their female protagonists and heroes (bearing in mind, A Song of Ice and Fire began in the 1990s, where it was rare to have a female protagonist).

By making Daenerys - a woman - the saviour of humanity in the series, George RR Martin will solidify his critique of rigid fantasy conventions, and it will reinforce that heroism transcends gender and is defined by actions, sacrifice, and leadership.

Facts about Gina that only those who have read the books know

1 – Ginny was an excellent Quidditch player, even replacing Harry in the championships during the fifth book. She later made it her profession, playing as a goalscorer for Holyhead Harpies.

2- Gina used jinx to counter the bogeyman with mastery. Such talent led to her being invited to join the slug club.

3- Ginny's and Voldemort's wands share the same wood, made from yew. Yew wands are incredibly rare, good for curses or intended for protective people.

4- She was described as one of the most beautiful and popular girls at Hogwarts. It was stated that, due to her beauty, she enchanted many people, including Slytherins like Blasio Zabini. (no wonder she was the most flirtatious girl in the saga)

5- Ginny who created the name “Dumbledore’s army”

6 – In order of the phoenix, a small fight broke out between Dumbledore's army and the inquisitorial brigade. In which Ginny defeats Draco Malfoy with her spell.

7-JK Rowling believes she brought Harry and Ginny together for a reason. She describes Ginny as 'tough, not in a nasty way, but brave'. She goes on to say that Harry "needs to be with someone who can handle the demands of being with Harry Potter, because he's a scary boyfriend in a lot of ways."

marauders!au where the war never happened and they all got to go on and live happy lives :) its set years later, when Harry, Ron, Neville, Luna and Hermione are going into their first year.

I haven’t come up with an actual plot yet :/ but this is the setting, and they are all around their early-to-mid-thirties at this point. it's likely just domestic fluff and slice-of-life type shit, with Harry still getting into impossible amounts of fuckery whilst stressing at least 10 different adults (as he should tbh)

Barty Crouch Jr, now Professor Barty (just Barty, Crouch is my father), teaches DADA and his fiancé, Evan Rosier, is a Magizoologist who travels during the school year, comes back home for the holidays and weekends to spend with Barty, either on Hogwarts grounds or at their own home. Barty has a close friendship with McGonagall, who is Headmistress, and Poppy (who are married, but no one figured it out).

Dorcas and Marlene play International-Level Quidditch: Dorcas for England, and Marlene for Wales or Ireland (undecided). Everyone thinks they hate each other from the way they treat each other during games. They played for the Holyhead Harpies until they got recruited, and their wedding was basically the biggest, most dramatic and over-the-top graduation party Hogwarts had ever seen, hosted in the Potter Manor. everyone was hungover for days afterwards

Lily and Snape are best-friends-turned-rivals, who achieved a Mastery in Potions at the same time, and are both the youngest people to ever do so. Sev specialises in theoretical potions, and Lily specialises in experimental work, altering old potions and creating new ones. She commandeered the entire basement for her own potions lab, and Remus helps her research in his spare time.

Pandora started publishing with Xenophillius (the definition of gender-fuckery; no-one knows how they identify, not even Xeno), and they publish the most outlandish work they can, alongside Pandora’s books!! They also run Xeno's Quibbler and a couple other independent newspapers. They live out in the countryside w/ Luna. Barty & Evan are their only walking-distance neighbours, but they floo to their friends houses semi-regularly

MaryLily and StarChaser are co-parenting Harry, and being godparents/family friends of Draco, Blaise Zabini, Ron, Neville and Luna. When Harry is at pre-school, he makes friends with Hermione, and the four of them introduce Dr and Dr Granger to the magical world over the years, instead of the two month crash-course Hogwarts gives

Mary is an artist, and since she was raised half-blood, absolutely adores the technique and process of muggle painting, later enchanting it to move and learn and talk. She doesn't own anything that isn't stained with paint, bleach or hair dye. She is famous for her work, in Magical and Muggle circles, but is almost completely anonymous, and they only know what she looks like because of a group portrait she painted

Regulus is an independent researcher of old Pagan traditions and 'Muggle' magic, how different solstices and days (like All Hallows Eve) affect the Magical community, etc. He visits Barty at Hogwarts with Harry every few weeks, and later with Hermione as well, so they grew up learning about the secrets at Hogwarts, in the library, and with the teachers. Also friendly house rivalry, and the adults completely split on which houses they will go into at Hogwarts. Evan started a betting pool.

James and Sirius are the wizarding private investigators. They work everywhere, for everyone (no matter what. they don't need to charge more than what people can afford), and love it. James absolutely adores the 'Sherlock Holmes' vibes, but they are both Sherlock Holmes b/c they are simply too baddass not to be!

Remus opened a bookstore-cafe, and him and Sirius live in the flat above it. It’s really popular and became the place for students and young queer people. The bookstore stocks everything from really popular and really unknown books and authors of every genre. The regulars also notice all these really famous but really mysterious friends of Remus who come-and-go (artist!mary, author!pandora, athletes!dorlene, etc). And then, of course, is the “private” investigator boyfriend, who couldn’t be less subtle at anything if he tried.

Alice is still an Auror, and the Best of the Best, but she is so fucking fed up of the politics, DMLE, and Ministry in general. She is starting a revolution/reformation from the inside- and if that doesn’t work, quit her job and do the same thing from the outside! Frank ended up in law and becoming a Lawyer, and is glad he did, because it might be the only thing that will keep his partner out of jail if she decides to commit treason. They love Neville to bits, and would do anything for him!! They built a whole-ass greenhouse when he discovered his talent.

Peter Pettigrew works part-time with Remus at his place, but is currently training with Gringotts/other cursebreakers to become a professional cursebreaker! it is taking a long ass time with a lot of testing and work to put in, but Peter finds it interesting and it meant that he always has more stories to tell the kids when he sees them, which is a bonus because children are hard to entertain.

"Oh I do like events!" she was excited but that lasted for a short while once she saw the list of costumes. It seemed harmless enough right? Reading through her mind settles on a Harpie! "This is rather peculiar hmm....hey why...? " before she could pose a question it felt if someone poked her in the forehead. For a moment she lost balance and began to stumble.

Her back and feet felt heavier. What's going on? As if she were a baby chick, she forgot to walk properly. She fell onto the ground, only to be greeted with a pair of sharp talons instead of her feat!!!

"What in the world?!? " she squeaks and flutters her wings.....WINGS? Feeling a new pair of limbs on her back she whips her head to look at a pair of brown and white large wings......

"How am I supposed to do my daily ....anything like this??!"

The fairground felt was alive with constant sights, sounds, and smells. It was a bit overwhelming. "Hey, you okay?" Adam asked. I nodded. He didn't seem convinced. "We can take a minute and sit down somewhere."

...I nodded again. Adam led me over to food stalls. It was oddly quieter over here. We found a bench way off to the side. "I'm gonna grab us some food." I nodded and watched him walk off. I then glanced around at the other people around.

So many humans. And most dressed up. Made sense. All Hallows' Eve was in a week. Human holidays are strange, but fun. Adam came back over. He was carrying two plates.

"These are corn dogs." He gestured to something on a stick. "Try it. You'll like it." I picked it up by the stick. Adam sat watching me. I opened my beak and took a bite. Adam laughed a bit watching me eat. I didn't care I was to busy eating the rest of the corn dog.

"Glad you like it." I smiled at him around a beak-ful of food. I had seen the plates also had french fries so I started eating those too. Adam was eating too now. Much slower than I was. I started to slow down.

"Are you having fun?" I nodded. "Good. I know you're not very comfortable with crowds, but I'm glad you decided to join me."

"Corn dog... good." Human words were still hard to say, but I was starting to get the hang of them.

Adam chuckled. "And how about the rest of the fair? Handling it all okay?"

I looked around again. People were all over the place. Playing games, eating food, and riding rides. "Loud. Bright. Crowd. Having good time."

Adam smiled at me. "I'm glad. We should hit up the games next." I nodded. We finished eating and moved onto the games. A lot of them involved throwing. I wanted to try all of them. Ring toss, Balloon pop, Bucket ball. Straight forward names.

Adam and I were bad at them. We didn't win any. Until the shooting range. Adam was oddly good at that one. He won a medium sized plush unicorn for me. I hugged it tightly.

We started walking away. I bumped into someone. "Sorry."

The person I bumped into was dressed up like a cat witch. "No, it's my fault. Oh my god! I love your costume! Your wings are so pretty!"

"T-thanks. They're r-real."

"Oh wow! You're a Harpy then? That's pretty cool! Nice meeting you!"

She walked off with her friends. I beamed. My wings started to flutter.

"Aw, did you hear that?" I Smiled at Adam. We continued on with the fair. I think i was starting to get more used to people.

So, I was thinking about this idea with my frien, and here’s a humanformers-humanoid formers question with human seekers: would they hate water? Or fear it? Okay both of those are strong words, but..for my seekers at least, they are basically harpies or bird people, and maybe they have hallowed bones like birds, and I wander, how seekers feel about water? Can they swim or know how to swim?… they don’t really need to, they can fly so swimming is very rare for them, so maybe they don’t have a need to learn or to have to. Maybe it’s a social norm for seekers to not have to know how to swim. They are very clean and they bathe shower and preen a lot but that’s the most they have to deal with water.
