I'm back on my bullshit rewatch of black sails and the s03e01 is a masterpiece

Not only are all the themes in that first episode all about tension, with the walrus crew finding hallendales abandoned ship, the non-repairment of the fort, the new threat approaching nassau.... but the MUSIC.... that soundtrack is insane, it drives you ever closer to the edge of your seat in anticipation, and when you take in consideration the whole show and how it works.... you know this isn't a thriller or a horror so there's no jumpscares approaching, but the music keeps building in tension and your expectations are so high... and just like the characters you end up absolutely terrified of what's coming, and you don't even know what it is!!!! Sure, we have the face and name of woodes rogers, but we really don't know what that means!! I feel like this is one of the first times I'm which we, as the audience, feel so tense and terrified over this non physical threat of civilization as the characters do. We don't know what's coming, but we know it will come, and it will destroy everything we hold dear.

Eleanor vs. Max

[Caption: gifs from The 100. Eleanor comes to the Inn to ask Jack, Anne, and Max about how a lead she gave to Hallendale ended up in Ned Low’s hand, who massacred the ship in question.
