When he turned to face Artanis, Mairon smiled at her and gently placed the flower crown of rich roses atop her brow. His hands adjusted it until it sat in place just right, and then he straightened her hair below it. Artanis felt his hands take hold of the pink ribbons dripping from the crown, which matched her already pink dress, and he arrayed them across her hair in a neat fashion.

He grinned at her. “There,” he said, and he held out one of his hands in a dramatic, sweeping gesture. “I crown you Queen of Love and Beauty!” Mairon announced just as dramatically, and Artanis could not help it—she blushed furiously, and burst into giggles.

As part of my submission for the Haladriel Valentine's Day fics, a child Artanis reunites with a child Mairon at a festival for Vána the Ever-young and Queen of Flowers in Valmar.

They share the day together at the celebration—as well as a first kiss.
