Okay this new picture confused me enough to post about it.

It's lovely, love the cat. But I'm confused, what exactly are they're going for here? I'm supposing this:

But the problem is they didn't bring Saito's arm and the cat actually in front of Okita (btw Okita's referring to this). All three of them are depthwise on different level, though Okita's finger is too perfectly close to look like he's touching the kitten's nose. Yet being on different levels they're all staring at different things!

I mean this is the supposed side view of that picture.

*THIS IS A REPOST* (kind of) The original post of my Katsugeki Touken Ranbu X Hakuouki screenshot edits disappeared from the tags after a few days for some reason??? I think that it might have been due to one of the screenshots containing blood or maybe it was the links in the description. Either way, you can't really find it unless you go to my blog and look for it.

I replace one of the screenshots with a different one hopefully this will stay up Katsugeki Touken Ranbu but with Hakuouki Hijikata and Souji EVERYBODY 🎉🎉🎉

So, the last chapter (still unedited) of Many Meetings got long. As in, "long for a chapter of The Twins" long. More than twice as long as a normal chapter of this fic.

It is going to be published in two parts even if I manage to make substantial cuts. Plus I am writing a tiny bonus chapter.

I think that what I planned to be a 6 chapters fic is going to turn into a 8 parts one. I hope you will have a nice time reading it.

So apparently from the Hakuouki official book I have (from the original game not the reboot KW/EB) Sen's oni form has three corns because she is a female. And Chizuru has only two horns because her statue is under Sen's one.

I'm not sure of the translation but it seems even if Sen has a human in her lineage, she is a little bit more "pure blood" than Chizuru just because her family exists since Japanese Antiquity.

Edit : Also male oni have four horns if they're pure blood. But I need to do more researchs.

🎨Art Update: I was putting the final touches to my realistic RuPaul portrait when I got sick with Covid and had no choice but to rest (I'm immunosuppressed and have to be careful with this virus 🤕). I planned to start my entry for Becky Kidus' Animal Portrait Contest after posting my RuPaul artwork, but the deadline is July 15... so I don't think I can finish it in time. 🙃

Translation of Saitou’s story in the new Switch SSL Booklet

Note: This is the third story in the booklet that comes with the Switch Hakuouki SSL special edition. Miki Saburou got mentioned in this story. @kumoriyami-xiuzhen, as promised, this is the translation.

Hajime Saitou

This was the story set in the next semester when the school was still unaware about Yukimura Chizuru and Saitou Hajime becoming a couple during Valentine Day.

 It happened right when spring started, and Chizuru became a second-year student.

She wanted to ease even if it is just a little bit the responsibility of Saitou who is a third year student and about to take the university entrance test if possible, after school, in the science experiment room, she expressed her feelings honestly.

“I am thinking about becoming a discipline committee member. If I can become one, I will be able to help ease the responsibility of Saitou-san even if it just a little bit…”

“Chizuru. At school, you shouldn’t use my name and you also need to call me senpai.”

“Ah…Ok. I want to do it for Saitoi-senpai too…”

“Hn, hm. Is that so? But Yukimura…though I will be saying it once more, I think you shouldn’t do it.”

“Why?”

“In order to protect the rules, a discipline committee member’s responsibility is to check when a student break the rules. Because of that, it is not uncommon for us to be shunned by people.”

“That might be the case but…Kaoru is also doing it.”

“Nagumo…how to put it, he seems to be taking fun in it. It is fine if you think you are not able to do it like that. Furthermore, at our school there is an overwhelming number of male students. Because you are a girl, won’t you find it hard admonish them.”

“It is true, that it can be like that….”

In response to Chizuru who is losing her prior spirit and is becoming slightly dispirited, Saitou gently said.

“I am happy that you feel this way. However, I think that I will probably be fine with my discipline committee member’s responsibility. It is likely that in this school year, because Nagumo will become a discipline committee member, I am certain that he will be the next in line to replace me as head of the discipline committee. If that happen…”

“That, too!”

Chizuru voice interrupted what Saitou was saying.

“I think that if Kaoru become the head of the discipline committee, it will be unfortunate. Do you remember what happened during Valentine day? It is obvious that he abused his power in such a way for his interests!”

“However, from the way he looks, I feel like Nagumo has the qualities of a discipline committee member. He does not other people’s feelings affect him, and he is immoveable, he supervises disciplines by the rules, regardless of the person, which is his quality. That quality of persistently carrying that out is something I value.”

“I also admit that is true but…when it comes to me, Kaoru strays from that.”

“That is true. However, at the school, I am looking hard for some like that. Hijikata sensei is also doing that.”

“However, it is not because of Kaoru that I am bothering Saitou senpai who is in your third year. If I am able to shoulder even just a little bit of your responsibilities so that senpai can give undivided attention to club activities and studying for the university entrance examination…”

Seeing that Chizuru was speaking so worriedly, Saitou smiled slightly and answered.

“I am sorry for making you worried about me to that point. However, you don’t have to go that far and become a disciple committee member. It is because even now, you are helping me like this…. By the way…what Nagumo thinks about us…”

“Of course, because we don’t say anything, he doesn’t know anything about us yet!”

“Is, is that so…If that is the case, it is great…”

Chizuru and Saitou looked at each other’s face and smiled bitterly.

If Kaoru knew about the relationship between the two of them, it was not hard to imagine that something awful was going to happen.

If that happened, Kaoru would go from considering Saitou as a senpai to be respect to an existence that he would want to get rid of so just thinking about what would happen after made them want to avoid it at all costs.

“I think that if he knows, something awful is going to happen. Until Saitou senpai graduates, we had better hide it somehow…But moreover, kendo tournament is near, right? Moreover, I want you to focus so if there is anything that I can help with the management of the kendo club, anything at all, please tell me.”

“…I am always very thankful to you. I thankful that you clean the dojo and wash the training clothes…above all, always mend the underclothes that has been worn out. Because this is my last as I become a third-year student, I want no matter what to leave behind a good result. Because Souji and Heisuke are also with me, we undoubtedly will be able to get far.”

“This year, you will be able to win the tournament, right, hmmm, Itou sensei’s brother also participates…”

“Yeah, Miki Saburou leading Goryoueji high school…”

Goryoueji high school.

This is the rival of the kendo club of Hakuouki Academy and frequently participates in athletic competitions between schools.

 Miki Saburou who is a third-year student and the head of the club is the biological younger brother of Kashitarou Itou, the music teacher of Hakuouki Academy.

“This year, Goryouenji High School is strong. It is because Miki as head and Shinohara and Hattori… are equal to a thousand warriors.”

“If it is Saitou senpai…If it is this year third-year students, you can definitely win.”

“Yes, I will do my best.”

“…Yes!”

At Chizuru’s delighted reply, Saitou also nodded in approval and answered.

“Now.. Our talk has unintentionally become very long. So, Yukimura, how about…cleaning up the work of the discipline committee?”

Seeing that Chizuru kept on looking at him, Saitou stopped.

“Uhmmm… Before we start doing club activities, I have a request… Can we call each other like before…?”

“A,ahhh… But… We are still on the campus…”

“But, there are only two of us at the moment… Only for now…”

“Ye, yes… Nobody is here, if only…for now.”

“Chi…chizuru.”

“Yes… Hajime san.”

While these two were gazing at each other and called each other name…

 “Saitou senpai, you are at a place like this? I am looking…, why is Chizuru here?”

 The person who opened the door and entered was Nagumo Kaoru.

Realizing that two of them were here, Kaoru approached Chizuru with an awfully menacing attitude.

“Ye, yes…Before we come to the kendo club, we have a little…”

“Nagumo. Did you have some business with me?”

“A, ah, Hijikata called you. I came here to tell you about it. So, Chizuru. Even when it is Saitou senpai, you shouldn’t often stay alone with a male student.”

After leaving that remark, Kaoru turned on his heels and left the classroom.

After making sure that his form could no longer be seen, Saitou and Chizuru exchanged looks and said quietly.

“Go ahead to do the club activity. As soon as I am done, I will head there…Chizuru.”

“…Yes, Hajime san!”

After answering, Chizuru hid away her joy and left the classroom.

Saitou, who stayed in that place, started to prepare for cleaning the work of the discipline committee.

 …The one year following that, days were likely to continue like this.

However, two of them properly experienced the happiness of being in the same school.

Exploring videos that replace Touken Ranbu's music with Hakuoki's Hanamaru version 🌸🌸🌸

Personally, I found that some of Aika's songs fit some of the Hanamaru endings better than the original ones. Since some of the imagery of the EDs is so melancholic while the song is so upbeat just didn't seem to fit very well together

My personal favorites are the Toshirou siblings, Mikazuki's and Kashuu, and Yasusada's ED.

The song in the Toushirou siblings' ending fits with the imagery really well and highlights really well how much the siblings miss Ichi-nii.

The song for Mikazuki's ending is called Sora no Kagami meaning "Mirror of the Sky" or "Sky's Mirror". There is a lot of reflection and night sky imagery in Mikazuki's ending and it honestly fits so perfectly together. 🌙

The song for Kashuu and Yasusada's ending talks about destiny and being born to meet. Souji in Tsukikage talks about destined swords for a samurai and how he wanted Yasusada because he felt that Yasusada was his destined sword. Also when the music swells into that guitar rift and shows Yasusada standing proud with the sakura petals falling around him, leaves such an impact. ❤

also yeah...the person who made the video didn't know how to edit out the Tourabu OST during the scene where they fight the Keiibishi before replacing it with the Hakuouki OST. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ eh, it is what it is
