something I don't see people talk about with Sydney is their theme of accountability. They cannot take responsibility for their own desires.
no matter how corrupted they won't ever say they wanted this out loud, there is like 1 encounter they initiate, they need you to change their hair.
they did everything they did for the temple and for school and for their parent, nothing for themselves. then that devotion turns to you.
I think about their hair so much, they say "I keep my hair natural because Jordan likes it" they look at the magazines at the hairdresser longingly, you can't suggest anything they don't want. But they continue to say "thanks for changing my hair" I am probably not quoting it right but the wording was so delibarate, this is what YOU wanted, they are only happy they submitted to you.
the only event where they initiate the encounter, while working the sex shop together they cuff themselves in the basement and wait for you to "take advantage of them" all playful and cute (it is cute until they do it three times in a row in a day and you just want to get your +sirris love and leave)
if you uncuff them with high lust and corruption, they cuff you instead, and if you refuse here too they just, they freeze if you make noise and sirris gets you free. otherwise they just, leave, Sirris has to resque you, it's weird it's odd
I think Sydney kinda shuts off when you fully reject their advances because they are doing what YOU desire right? you made them like this, they're supposed to be an extention of you.(forever two as one? temple teachings at it again??) literally can't comprehend they had a single selfish impulse seperate from anyone else's expectations.
anyway Sydney is fucked in the head as anyone else in this town even tho they are my sweetiepie pookie bear they need mood stabilizers so so baddd
#degrees of lewdity#sydney the faithful#dol sydney#dol#you can lead this horse to water but god you can't make it admit it was thirsty#I love you sydney I want to get in your brain so bad#btw I only every did the rite of promise with them might be things I missed too. feel free to scream back at me#Tenta posts

Mr. Sydney I feel like soon someone else will be added to the list of characters you get confused with.
Heh heh......He's actually ALREADY THERE!!!!! I just forgot to mention it
my irl friend who got me to read dungeon meshi originally, a known Fictional Guys Sydney Resembles Expert, called me out on it when the anime came out and I commented on how much he talked like me sometimes lol.
Honestly I'd love to have my hair be that length again...but I am still so bad at communicating what I want to hairdressers....

Re: other Harvest Moon/Stardew occupations from someone who's played a lot of Harvest Moon/SoS + other similar type games
don't forget the nurses/doctor assistants!
Inn keeper (sometimes it's the same building as the pub but sometimes not)
Cafe owner (there can be multiple dining establishments)
chefs/waiters
Occasionally there are docks that let you go on boat rides, so ship captain or similar
harvest/Forest Sprites/shrines, basically some sort of place that offers various services such as taking care of your farm for you or finding specific types of items out in the wild
Archeologists/miners
gourmand/food critic aka the person that judges the food competitions
Forest rangers if the setting calls for it, maybe even police personel
teachers/tutors for the village kids
tailors/seamstresses
hairdressers
some games have characters who work out of town such as Sydney who is a defense attorney in the city and only comes back to town to be with her family on the weekends
Kai runs the food stall at the beach but it's open only in the summer
Grand Bazaar's main mechanic is the weekend flea/farmers market so you can have people running stalls selling various things
tour guide
if there's some sort of diety, there's probably a chuch with a clergy (nuns and priests typically)
florist
sometimes there's two different people who sell animals, one is livestock and the other is pets (dogs, cats, horses)
postal workers
people who run the mini game areas aka the casinos basically
other farmers + ranchers
there's probably more but these are the ones that I can remember off the top of my head
Fascinating

More than a dozen black models have declared they are boycotting Melbourne Fashion Week (MFW) in response to multiple instances of racism they have experienced across the wider Australian fashion industry.
The 13 models – some of whom turned down offers to appear at MFW, while others refused to participate in casting calls – are using next week’s landmark fashion event to draw attention to their experiences of racism in the industry, including claims they are being paid significantly less than white models, the N-word being used by a photographer, and hairdressers talking in derogative terms about African hair.
“In London, New York and Paris, you could not get away with what the fashion industry is doing here and how it treats black models, but they don’t seem to care or want to change,” South-Sudanese-born model Nylow Ajing told this masthead.
“Black models doing Australian fashion is a form of self-destruction”, said Awar Malek, a 24-year-old Sydney-based model. “It is absolutely the most traumatising, and dehumanising, underpaying, and overall mentally draining week and I have no desire to continue to participate.”

Drop some of your PC's lore, Dar, don't be shy <3
MOTH THIS IS SO CUTE HELLO😭🩷 just bc you asked, i will lore dump abt him under the cut🥺👉👈
His name is Nihil! He doesn't have a very expressive face, and as a result of that, friendly interactions with other people come far and few.
It doesn't help that he's a man of few words — not necessarily by choice, but all his own fault at the same time. Never able to ease into conversation, so choosing silence despite wanting to build connections.
As a kid, Nihil used to just loiter around the others in the orphanage when they gathered, picking apart the more outspoken individuals in his head and trying to think of ways he could be like them. This was largely misinterpreted as Nihil judging them, which in turn kept him isolated.
That's all to say that when Robin first approached him, it was a profound moment in his life. He quite literally remembers it with added wings and a halo on said person. Calls Robin his angel and means it. Also shoulders their payments to Bailey.
On that note, Nihil hates Bailey with a burning passion and the only other person to the same degree is Leighton — he jumped at the opportunity to gut punch him on Sydney's behalf. Skips school a lot because of this dislike, so his delinquency is high despite him not being a particularly bad student.
Collecting lichen became a hobby for him after that science project. Nihil spends a majority of his time alone, either trying to make money or tending to crops. He appreciates nature.
Really wants to cut his hair, but is too afraid to go alone because he's certain he'd make it awkward. Took Sydney to the hairdressers once for this, then backtracked when Sydney made a comment about changing their hairstyle since he likes theirs as it is.
Somehow ended up in Whitney's circle, sometimes visits the park at random hours hoping to find them when he feels lonely and doesn't want to bother Robin. He looks up to Whitney's attitude, just in the sense that it's defining.
In the same way, he's fascinated by Kylar's obsession and Sydney's faithfulness — anyone with character. Nihil has always felt that he, himself, has no substance in his personality. He wants to build a mould to conform to.
Vengeful sadist trait, in part due to his complex of not being able to break away from impersonal relationships, and mostly because he just likes to make people cry.
Although, he's not an unkind person either. His first instinct is to help when someone's in need, and he avoids petty theft where he can. He'll do anything for someone who has been nice to him once, regardless of if they ever do so again.
Sleeps infrequently due to vivid nightmares; they're a lot less intense when Robin's with him. After waking up, he has a 'head empty, no thoughts' state, it takes him a couple of hours to reboot.
Is a good listener — understandably, because that's really all he does. Nihil remembers things well, especially concerning those he likes, so he's surprisingly nice to approach when in need of a shoulder. Although, his words of comfort are a bit curt and robotic, he does as best as he knows to do.
At the end of the day, he has a notebook he always comes back to. Writes about the things he's observed, the people and the plants, the changing seasons, his own reflection in the mirror. The pages fill up. Nihil does it in hope that he can fix himself, and then one day, share all these years of words with someone.
#lovenotesfromdar#Nihil the Requiem#♡ dar's precious mutuals#im not sure if this counts as lore or general info hhh#dol#dol pc

school LIs but i drew em opposite gender than i usually draw. yay!
i never draw whitneys eye completely covered but i feel like fem whitney would actually have her hair like that. also smokey eyes and if i colored id give her trashy y2k makeup. just her vibe.
robins simple. fluffy round shapes as always.
i gave kylar curly hair but like. improperly taken care of messy mop brushed out curly hair. also not visible on the sketch but id absolutely give her slight facial hair if u drew her more detailed.
and sydney gets the classic "guy who last went to the hairdresser age 11" haircut. fallen sydney would be more fun to draw i think. though fem sydney is generally the most fun to draw always....

I'm going to cut off your hair while you sleep God bless you Syd. P. S.: I love your hair, it's like so pretty and well kept, and that color, I don't even know if it's natural, if not where do you get the dye from? it's not like I'm going to dye it mainly because I don't know how and I'm embarrassed to ask someone to do it for me.
[Sydney, unsure of how serious the messenger was, stared at the ask with worry. They were definitely safe… It had been sitting in their inbox for a while now, and there’d been no attempts at intrusion… At least that they were aware of?
They frowned, fingers hovering as the keyboard as they tried to come up with a response. Ignoring the first half of the message, they hesitantly took the compliment.]
…Thank you? Yeah, my hair is natural ^^’. Um. I think… the shopping center has a hairdresser, maybe they could help you—
Please. Don’t. Cut my hair off when I’m sleeping. That’s… really quite scary.
