Harry writes little freak in Tokyo and leaked ophelia (I feel ya) that refers to staring at her in Tokyo, watching her move, missing her and fantasising.

HS Live on Tour - T unseen. They were both in Chicago and played shows on 28 June (Taylor) and 30 June (Harry). In Taylors show she told the odd story about being with someone 2 NYE ago and jumping into icy waters which Taylor Nation edited out then later Joe did exposition for that to be about him. Harry's suit for that show was copied in the Me! music video. At Harry's next show (St Paul) is the one with a very well known Medicine performance and he said "running with you" instead of "running with wolves" in MMITH, then he broke up with Camille.

1989 - H unseen. Ironically, I think this is the one I think he probably he didn't go to. If he did, I think it was around June 6 as they were both in London and Harry posted in colour to IG. see 2015 timeline

Take Me Home - T unseen. They were both in Pennsylvania for a week 6 July, Taylor had the next week off and was not seen. on the 8th July Harry threw up on stage.

“Nobody better be kissing in here,” she announces when we meet her at a cafe a stone's throw from Christchurch Cathedral. She arrives after a haircut, short, cut all the way up to her ears and a hand performatively shielding her gaze. 

We ignore her. “Jen! Your hair!”

Michelle frowns at me. 

“I appreciate what you’re trying to do,” says Jen, “but this haircut does not make me look like Emma Watson.” she grabs the menu from the table and skims it with disinterest, “I don’t want to talk about hair. It will grow out eventually, please, tell me about your NCAD interviews. How did they go?”

Michelle gets right into it, regaling her with the full story from start to finish, how Ida and Paul looked at her when she came into the room, the manner in which they unzipped her portfolio, the questions they asked, the way they made her feel, while I sit humming along sympathetically, hoping that if I stay invested in what Michelle is saying then I won't be asked to describe my experience.

“And you, Jude?” Jen says, “Did you find them to be dickheads too?”

“Uh, yeah totally,” I say, “it was fairly uncomfortable alright.”

She looks at Michelle, “He’s lying.”

“I’m not!”

“You are! I bet it went so incredibly well that you feel awkward about telling us, look!” she stabs a finger in my direction, “his face, he’s an awful liar, see how his eye twitches like that? It’s his tell. I would know.”

“I’m not-” I grab hold of Michelle’s knee and squeeze it, “I’m not lying, it went the same for me as it did for you.”

I glare at Jen. Can’t she see that I’m just doing damage control? The last thing I want to do is upset my girlfriend. As sensitive as she is already, I feel the knowledge of what happened inside that interview room would send her into a spin for the whole day. Jen wrinkles her nose and sticks her pointy little tongue out at me. 

“NCAD isn’t our preference anyway,” I continue insistently, “We’ve done our interviews for Paris, next week is Munich and Berlin, then Amsterdam and London. This is really, like, a last resort, but something will work out for us.”

Jen raises her eyebrows, “Germany? Michelle, you can’t speak German.”

“Yeah but I’d learn.”

“Exactly, and if we end up going to France then I’ll learn French.”

“Wow, that’s a lot of learning on top of what you’re already doing, isn’t it? You sure you’ll be able for all that?”

Michelle clutches hold of my hand, “We’ll make it work no matter what,” she says, and I can't tell if it's a statement, a question, or an order.

Hello, it’s so good to have you back. I earnestly hope your healing journey is easy and straightforward.

I’m seeing you answer questions about Tonks, and I wanted to share how intrigued I am with the way you used Tonks’ Animagus ability to navigate and represent her estranged relationship with the Black family. Given the “mass of black hair” she sports in the Ministry and the “pixie cut shock of electric pink” at Grimmauld Place, we intuit that Tonks clearly plays around with her face to heighten and decrease her resemblance to her aunts on a situational basis. I presume she thought that resembling Bellatrix would be a tactical advantage for her Ministry interview.

In that vein, I’m curious to know what you think Draco would do with his appearance if he had Tonks’ same abilities. If Draco had the Animagus ability that Tonks does, would he also play with his face and how it resembles that of his father? I think he doesn’t mind being a resemblance of his father at Hogwarts, because none of his friends had any relationship with Lucius. But given that during Narcissa’s episodes she perceives Draco as his father, I wonder if you think Draco would change his face to avoid triggering another episode.

In general, I’m very intrigued by the idea of shape shifting and what it represents. I think in terms of his relationships with Theo and Pansy, Draco would sometimes (metaphorically) shift into the image of an ideal Slytherin, playing up his pedigree and knowledge of pureblood tradition.

This is a really cool question, and I took a hot minute to think about it. For one thing, metamorphmagus!Draco would be even more ridiculously vain than he is at present; it seems useful for all sorts of things like haircuts and spots (even fit aristocratic fifteen-year-olds get them, tragically). I don't think Draco would deliberately try to play up the resemblance to his father — in most cases. For one thing, he's very much attached to his mother, and he wears that resemblance proudly; he identifies as a Black as well as a Malfoy, if to a lesser extent, and those echoes are part of his heritage. That said, Narcissa (who's the best and only real authority on the subject) thinks Draco looks a lot like Lucius anyway, and everyone already associates him heavily with his father, so playing up the resemblance wouldn't do much for him. Playing it down, on the other hand, is an intriguing idea... except he'd probably be making himself resemble the Black side of the family more, and we're all familiar with the fates of the two most recent sons of Black.

That being said, there are places it would probably be useful. Tonks definitely played up the family resemblance to lean on Bellatrix's reputation. (Also, Tonks's normal aesthetic is very Manic Pixie Dream Witch, and it would not go over well with the wizard Tories.) It also would have changed major plot points related to the Polyjuice Potion in Book 3 (although to what extent, I'm not sure; we're never really told what a fully realized metamorphmagus's abilities could do, e.g. if Tonks could alter whole body parts, height/weight/build, or even internal organs; is she doing a glamour, or is she actually changing parts of her body, and if the latter, can she heal her own injuries; as always, the first rule of every magic system in Harry Potter is Don't Think About The Magic System).

To wit: if the current version of Draco could change what he looked like, I don't think he would, and that's quite telling in and of itself.

Hi Marte, about Louis reaction on Harry's new hair, I know his strategy related to Harry in the press is always act like he doesn't know where he is (like when Harry was promoting DWD in Italy) or now that he hasn't seen the haircut but wonders if is AI and he most looks good. This both events were talk about in the press no stop and for someone like Louis who is a lot on the internet and has admitted that he is in fandom groups of him to be aware of what they talk about, it wouldn't be a better strategy to just say: yes I saw he was in Italy or yes I saw the photo he looks great? I know his answers doesn't go outside of fandom but just his responses are always so awkward and I don't believe him haha. What do you think? It will always be like this in topics related to Harry?

See, the problem is that Louis just loves Harry too much. He can't pretend to be normal about him. He knows he'll give it away with his body language, and he's trying really, really hard to be normal about him by being neutral in his use of language and giving a short, polite and acceptable answer. Instead his brain freezes, he panics, act manic, and then feigns ignorance. Kind of like this:

Media training is out the window, he's rambling, he talks faster, he's saying things that doesn’t make sense, incriminates himself in other ways (admitting he's seen ai's of Harry), adopts the most high pitched voice (it's a miracle we as humans can hear it) and he stutters to get the words out. Meanwhile he's totally normal about Niall when asked about him on the same red carpet.

It's just very funny at this point. This is on the same level as umbrogate. Very damning evidence that obliterates parmageddon. I bet Sim*m Jon*s is very happy with him, and that interviewer too for the line of questioning towards Louis. I think it will always be this way, yes. Louis will never be able to be normal about Harry.

For the other anon who wanted to know more about Vale and his gnc teenage years, Nick Harris, the official dorna commentator, said during the pre-race portion of Vale's 300th grand prix that the first time Harris saw Vale when he was racing in the 125 cc class he did think he was a girl. So we aren't alone in thinking that at least.

Unfortunately, videopass only has race highlights and one full race up from the 1997 125cc season, but in the lead-up to the start of the race in BRNO Harris does mention Vale needing to get haircut (that might have been because one of the other guys was called the Spanish barber) so it may not have been a universally loved choice. However, Vale was far from the only guy with longer hair on the grid and the 90s did have plenty of chin-length haircuts for men.

Any further information on the public reception would have to come from magazine archives and interviews and stuff posted on youtube which I haven't really gotten into yet. Hope this is helpful!

Lord Voldemort and The White Thin Duke

I know probably no one cares about this, but since I was very young, I’ve always had this curiosity about the looks of the Dark Lord during the First Wizarding War. Especially, I was intrigued by his depiction in the Half Blood Prince when, already graduated from Hogwarts, he started working at Borgin and Burkes. It is written that he speaks with a soft voice, that he wears his hair longer than it had been at Hogwarts, that he is thin with hollowed cheeks and – shockingly – that he doesn’t wear wizard’s robes but a black suit.

This is all very interesting to me, since I have this weird obsession of looking for cues about his personality, even in these scarce descriptions about his appearance and of course I get mad because of how difficult it is. The fact that he wears his hair long could be both a sign of vanity or a way of communicating his lack of interest about his looks – leading to him being a handsome man anyways.  Of course, we know that he does not crave for being considered beautiful, since a few lines ahead we come to know that he altered his features forever, during his permanence in Albania:  

His features were not those Harry had seen emerge from the great stone cauldron almost two years ago: They were not as snake-like, the eyes were not yet scarlet, the face not yet masklike, and yet he was no longer handsome Tom Riddle. Can’t blame a young emo girl like me for falling in love with this man 10 years ago. Now, of course, my love remains unchanged, and I still have hard feelings for not have seen young Lord Voldemrot on the big screen, when I was a teenager (will the up coming series remedy to this? We don’t know).

So, my mind has wandered for a long time, searching for someone – made of blood and bones – that could resemble the description of First Wizarding War Voldemort that we are left with.

Conscious of the fact that no one is going to share my opinion, I think I’ve found an original solution to the problem and I’m going to stick with this till death.

In fact, while my literary heart is reserved for Lord Voldemort, my musical taste brought me to The Think White Duke, David Bowie. I know, it sounds crazy, but I believe that this amazing – and very missed – genius shares a lot of physical traits with young Lord Voldemort, during this mysterious years in the books.

So, I want to share with you this interview, hoping deep down that you’ll find the same similarities that I found some time ago and that never cease to warm my heart.

First, his voice: he speaks softly but fast – and with a wonderful British accent that, of course, he shares with Londoner Tom Riddle. He is polite but also elusive. He keeps all the attention on him and his words in the exact same way I imagine young Voldemort would do.

Second, his appearance: he is thin, almost skeletal and has something feminine in him that I personally find devastatingly attractive. He has the hollow cheeks and the thin lips with a crooked smile that – my personal point of view here – he could share with our young Lord Voldemort. He has long thin hands with slim fingers.

Now, imagine him with black hair – with the same haircut – and reddened eyes and I think we have it.

Also, I wanted to post here this picture, because I’m confident that this is the best representation we’ll ever have of what the Dark Lord should’ve looked like in the movies (I know I’m a minority here on this topic, but I absolutely dislike how Ralph Fiennes managed to act him in the movies, so disappointing).

I think I saw some interview with Tamsyn that she thought specifically of Taika Waititi when writing Jod.  The TLT podcast that’s currently stomping through NtN has interviewed with Muir’s IRL information source on HEMA (Lissa Harris), who became the basis for Gideon, but obviously that’s not a casting.

At peak visual imagination, I’ve probably thought of a younger Emma Thompson for Mercymourn (late 90s with a David Bowie haircut),

The closest thing I can think of for Protestilaus is like, Tom Hardy or Nicholas Hoult in a parody of the production of a Hollywood power-fantasy body.  

Much like with Worm for Our Lady of Escalation, it is nigh-impossible to cast Harrow or Gideon from known actors.  I know some people would reach for Aubrey Plaza as the Reverend Daughter because of her past goth/alt presentations, but I think she’s too old for the role?  Jenna Ortega is another obvious pick, and I definitely think she should be IN GtN, but Ok, she’s actually definitely young enough, FINE.

KJ Apa would be funny as Naberius. No notes there!

It would be unnecessarily on the nose to make Margot Robbie Alecto, so I say Gwendoline Christie.  We know she can do menace from GoT and Sandman.

Also, to blow people’s minds: Christina Hendricks as Wake.  Yes, it would probably irritate a certain mutual that she be underused in this way, but one of the central temptresses of the books is necessarily much less vital if you know what I mean.

The terrible teens are, more than Harrow or Gideon, necessarily obscure actors.  Anyone that knows child actors feel free to weigh in.

Although, SPEAKING of child actors: Evanna Lynch (who you first met as Luna Lovegood) as Ianthe Tridentarius! You’re welcome!

I agree about the long hair. I did not love it. The Peaky haircut was great with his face structure. However, I did like the jorts from that one interview he did where he was really tan and flirty a bit with the host. But, I'm from rural Wisconsin, so my fashion sense is not on point. I also think Harry looked nice in jorts. Again, he had tan legs at the time. That helps. I think I just discovered I have a very specific kink. Tan legs and jorts. Hm.

hi ❤️. k, so, i couldn't find "family" anywhere, but i have "families" twice in the next chapter of castles. i'm giving you this paragraph, which is a bit boring i'll admit (it will surely rile up our sacred twenty-eight stan, though lmao), because the other "families" is way too spoilery.

Harry has been busy, lately: between work, the preparations for Ron and Hermione’s wedding, and the events, interviews, and cocktail parties he is now forced to attend, but it strangely feels like the hardest part is behind them. Kingsley is now polling at around 60%, and has managed to pass a bill bringing the number of elected Wizengamot seats to twenty-nine, just shy of a majority. They’ve added ten (based on growing population numbers since the last reform in 1933) and five members from the Sacred Twenty-Eight families have agreed to surrender theirs to the people’s will (including Kingsley himself, to be fair). The Ministry further commandeered the Gaunt, Crouch, Lestrange and Malfoy seats on the grounds that their last living relative is either dead or in jail, causing a marginal stir in most conservative circles, but still. Here they are, eight weeks from the vote, as ready as they could be.

also, omg, the haircut. i am IN LOVE. best haircut i've had in years. this woman was recommended to me by a friend in a bar whilst we were having drinks (hence the tipsiness) and i booked at like 1AM for the next day. it was €100 which is pretty steep just for the cut but honestly, So Worth It. i have A Lot of hair (the hairdresser said 'they are fine but there are very very many of them' lol, i was like: 'i know, i unfortunately have to wash and dry them') so hairdressers usually get annoyed and refuse to cut layers but she did and said it was a great challenge - it looks GORGEOUS. will 100% go back lol. best drunk decision i ever took.

Tuvok, but Janeway is a close second and I have a big soft spot for Harry Kim. Data is great too. (yeah, very common answer, I'm sure.)

Haven't watched enough TOS to form character opinions yet. TNG? Beverly, beating out Data by a small margin (she seems the most humanized and I don't fangirl her that hard, but I don't loathe any one character either.) See above. Uhh...three way tie between Jadzia, Julian and Quark. Have barely seen ENT. Mixed feelings on DISCO, but Saru and Tilly. Can't choose between them!

Probably none of them. Too stressful. But if I had to, B'Elanna Torres when she was single.

When Voy was being touted as the new kid and they did cast interviews, my mom told my dad "Look honey, a black Vulcan!" XD Some months later, he was their new instant fictional son-in-law AKA my crush. (It didn't last long and I was 11. It still weirds me out why the frick I was crushing on a grown man at that age.)

Willing to share information and give honest opinions, but I haven't seen that much of it until recently, being on reddit now.

What are negatives of the fandom? And ways you would change it?

Too brutally honest. As with every fandom, no fan wars, everyone play nice!

Whose your favorite captain?

Depends. As nostalgia bait and a win for women, Janeway. As an actual Captain? Picard, but Sisko might be a close second because I cave and the fans are right, he's a dang fine captain.

Huh? Uh...Is Harry Kim more Interesting than Geordi LaForge? (Harry has gotten so much hate on Reddit and in videos I've seen lately. Makes ma a sad panda.)

What character do you most emulate?

Purposely, none at the moment. But in childhood, if I got the sudden urge to be too giggly in public, I'd pretend I was a Vulcan.

Headcannons on a character.

I decided all Boleans are just weirdly great at cutting hair. Would explain how everyone is getting their haircut on Voy, and Janeways many, many stylish hairdo's throughout seven whole seasons.

If you could choose what planet would you live on and why?

Mayyyybe Risa? Because it's so tropical.

If you could choose what species would you like to be, why?

Eh, would still like to be human, but NGL, being a Klingon would be the shiznit...except for all the violence...and the food. But being the race no one wants to take in a fight? Nice!

What's an aspect of the fandom, series that resonates with you?

Fandom, IDK. But the series? Universal peace, hope for the future, and, considering the times, humanity actually getting intelligent enough to pilot starships. (headcannon that they got smarter as time went on and not dumber.)

If you could write a episode or book on the series what characters would you pick and what would be the plotline?

4 way crossover somehow between Voy, DS9, Lower Decks and TNG. LD kinda already did this, but not all in one episode.

What are your views on the politics in star trek?

No real opinion on it, but I will say it makes for good drama.

What are your views on the actors in the series, is there something they do that demotes/promotes the representation of the series or characters?

Rewatching as an adult, B'Elanna's actress' performance and character wanted me to get more in touch with my bi-racial heritage (as she did for a lot of people). Appreciation for all the Asian representation in two series, even if I am not Asian. Not sure if I can think of anything that demotes off hand, except reading Garret Wang had lots of commentary on The Doctor's character development that was negative, so that's a bit sad.

Character you can't stand?

Neelix and (just because he's poorly written, NOTHING to do with race!) Geordi LaForge.

What has star trek taught you?

What the Hippocratic Oath was, equality, how to be a great leader, being feminine and strong, and a bajillion other things too much to list here.

What's your favorite series?

Voyager.

Don't even have 10, but anyone that makes anyone I've mentioned happy. I have a bit of a soft spot for Janekotay, and I ship Seven/Harry soooo hardddddd!!!!! (Or at least get enthusiastic about it) He deserved someone and that would have been nice. They teased us with 0 payoff. (Never mind all the flack harry gets for being boring.)

If you could cosplay as someone from the series who would it be?

Some chubby version of Ezri Dax because we're both smol, adorable happy beans, but I'd also do some background female Klingon in metal garb if I had an unlimited budget. Mayyyybe B'Elanna? But she ranks like low middle on my list of favorite characters, but she's so awesome at the same time.

I so badly want to put H and L in front of a camera when they come out and show them all the times they've made a fool out of themselves to try to pretend they aren’t head over heels for each other.
