Define The Grace That You Get After Putting On Hair Extensions
In the realm of beauty and self-expression, hair plays a significant role. However, only some are blessed with voluminous locks or the ability to experiment with different hairstyles effortlessly. It is where hair extensions come into play, offering a versatile solution to enhance length, volume, and overall aesthetic appeal. In this comprehensive guide, we'll delve into the fascinating world of hair extensions, exploring their types, application methods, maintenance, and the impact they have on personal style.
Tumblr media
Types Of Hair Extensions
Clip-In Extensions
Ideal for temporary transformations, clip-in extensions are easy to attach and remove. They provide instant volume and length without the commitment of a permanent attachment. Users can experiment with various styles on special occasions or for a quick change.
Tape-In Extensions
Tape-in extensions involve attaching thin wefts of hair using double-sided tape. They are discreet, lightweight, and suitable for those seeking a semi-permanent solution. Maintenance is relatively simple, and they can be reused with proper care.
Sew-In Or Weave Extensions
Weave extensions involve braiding the natural hair and sewing the extensions onto the braids. This method is popular for its durability and the ability to create long-lasting styles. However, it requires professional installation and may put tension on the natural hair.
Professional Installation
Some methods, such as fusion or weave extensions, are best applied by a professional stylist. It ensures precision in placement, minimizing the risk of damage to natural hair.
DIY Application
Clip-in and tape-in extensions are more user-friendly and can be applied at home. However, it is crucial to follow proper instructions to prevent damage and achieve a seamless blend with natural hair.
Maintenance Tips
Proper care is essential to maximize the lifespan and appearance of hair extensions:
Gentle Washing
Use sulfate-free, moisturizing shampoos and conditioners to keep the extensions hydrated. Avoid washing too frequently to prevent premature wear.
Heat Protection
When styling with heat tools, use a heat protectant to shield the extensions from damage. Keep temperatures moderate to avoid compromising the integrity of the hair.
Brushing
Use a soft-bristle brush to detangle the extensions, starting from the tips and working your way up to the roots. Hold the hair near the roots to minimize tension.
Avoid Chemicals
Minimize exposure to chlorine, saltwater, and harsh chemicals, as they can cause dryness and damage to the extensions.
The Impact On Personal Style
Hair extensions offer individuals the freedom to experiment with various hairstyles, colors, and lengths without the commitment of permanent changes. Whether for a special occasion or as part of a daily routine, the versatility of extensions empowers users to express their unique style.
Conclusion
In the ever-evolving world of beauty and fashion, hair extensions stand out as a transformative tool for achieving the desired aesthetic. From temporary clip-ins to long-term fusion extensions, the options are diverse, catering to individual preferences and lifestyles. With proper care and consideration, hair extensions can be a game-changer, providing a boost of confidence and enhancing personal style for those who seek to redefine their look.

i think there's something to be said about transmisogynistic crowing about how trans women don't "look like women" (whatever that means) or are "normalizing" things like facial hair, square faces, whatever, when so many trans women i see taking selfies look like women (cis or trans) that i encounter irl at the grocery store, the movies, the mall, the library, etc while my social media feed is full of tiktoks of women who "look like real women" under these guidelines literally look like cartoons under 10 layers of filters, edit their bodies to impossible proportions, have had injections surgical procedures and wear full coverage makeup, lash extensions, etc so they can have their appearance tolerated online and not be brutally harassed for being "ugly." it's almost as if the idea that women can look a wide variety of ways without being denigrated is a positive thing for women and society. maybe

hi!!!!
I saw your intro post and was wondering if you had advice on getting into scene! It seems so cool
Sure! (*´ω`*)
I'd say the music is definitely one of the most important factors to it, so honestly before all else I'd check out some scene artists.
Millionaires, Brokencyde, and Dot Dot Curve are some good crunkcore artists, but if that's not your vibe then there's stuff like Attack Attack!, Snow White's Poison Bite, and I Set My Friends on Fire!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some starter songs I would suggest are:
"Things that rhyme with orange" - I set my friends on fire
"Hello Fascination" - Breathe Carolina
"Down in the morgue" - Snow White's Poison Bite
"Prom Dress" - Millionaires
---
If you're looking into the fashion/want to dress that way then I would highly suggest looking in thrift stores/garage sales.
(There's always websites online that sell the clothes but it tends to be less affordable.)
A lot of scene fashion can be created pretty easily, it just generally includes layers and things animal print / bright colors. And a lot of things can be diy'd. (Ex. Using a fork to snag tights or painting a belt to be more colorful)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The hair is also a scene staple but I'm not too elitist about it because I know not everyone's hair is willing to cooperate XD
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Most scene kids have their hair dyed but that's not necessary ofc. Generally they have their bangs side swept and hair teased to hell (with a comb basically brushing it backwards to create a bats nest / create volume) and then drowned in hairspray for it to stay.
Hair extensions can also help create that iconic scene look.
But ya (^v^) I hope this overly long rant can help ya XD

beauty on a budget for someone new to the lifestyle?
since you’re only starting out, you’ll probably want to focus on affordable products and diy and at home beauty treatments.
you can get affordable skin care products from brands like cerave, cetaphil, and the ordinary. you’ll find all your essential cleansers, serums, exfoliators and moisturizers. you can order facial sheet masks in bulk cheap from amazon. you can also use aztec secret healing clay as a clay masque. skip the guasha altogether and follow a youtube tutorial for face sculpting massages instead.
good quality affordable makeup brands I used when I was nearly broke included e.l.f., nyx, wet n’ wild, maybelline, and makeup revolution. look into some other drug store brands within your budget and check reviews before you buy anything so you don’t waste your money. get generic beauty blenders and powder puffs, you’ll be replacing them often anyway so it’s best to get them cheap. you can buy cheap big makeup brush sets on amazon that’ll last a long time if you clean them regularly and take care of them.
press on nails and home manicures / pedicures will save you a ton of money and time. find a good manicure kit and pumice stone. buy a dollar store basin and some epsom salts to soak your feet. for press on nails I usually get mine from temu or brands like kiss and impress. if you just want to paint your natural nails, get a gel polish like l.a. colors color craze gel or sally hansen miracle gel. if you want to go the extra mile, invest in the supplies and learn how to do your own acrylics or gel manicures.
learn how to wax, shape, and tint your own eyebrows. you can buy an affordable diy wax kit like this one and use youtube tutorials on how to find the most flattering brow shape. (as a bonus, the hard waxing kit can also be used to remove unwanted hair on the rest of your body.) you can also find cheap brow tinting kits that usually last up to five uses at sally’s beauty supply and various other stores online.
if you want your lashes done, you can either get really, really good at applying a strip lash – my go to affordable brands are ardell and kiss – or you can invest in some bulk lash clusters and the falscara diy eyelash extension kit. figure out what lash placement will best compliment your features, then watch lots and lots of youtube tutorials on how to use it and practice, practice, practice. they take some getting used to.
when it comes to hair care, the very first thing you want to do is figure out your hair type with a quiz like this one and find what it needs to look and feel healthy. I have 2A hair, so I would pretty much always spring for nexxus for something moisturizing and lightweight, but I’ve heard great things about ogx, shea moisture, not your mother’s, maui moisture, l’oreal elvive, and garnier whole blends which are great for other hair types, densities, and textures. all these brands carry a wide variety of products from shampoo, to leave in treatments, to hair masques, to curl cream — you get it. again, read reviews. you can also use a cotton t-shirt to dry and plop your hair instead of spending money on a microfiber towel, and a satin scarf wrapped around your head to protect your hair while sleeping instead of a silk bonnet and pillow case.
if you’re into styling your hair, two of my favorite methods are heatless styling and blowouts. for heatless styling, you may not even need to purchase any new styling tools. I started out using this heatless robe curl method and eventually started doing other heatless styling methods like the ones on this playlist once I started buying more tools, and did styles like these when I didn’t feel like setting my hair at all. for styles that require heat, a highly suggest investing in a dyson airwrap – which can do pretty much everything – so you don’t end up spending even more on an arsenal of hot styling tools.
good luck, sugar
xoxo

October's Read: Natural Beauty by Ling Ling Huang. Join us Sunday, October 20th to discuss this horror novel!
Our narrator produces a sound from the piano no one else at the Conservatory can. She employs a technique she learned from her parents—also talented musicians—who fled China in the wake of the Cultural Revolution. But when an accident leaves her parents debilitated, she abandons her future for a job at a high-end beauty and wellness store in New York City. Holistik is known for its remarkable products and procedures—from remoras that suck out cheap Botox to eyelash extensions made of spider silk—and her new job affords her entry into a world of privilege and gives her a long-awaited sense of belonging. She becomes transfixed by Helen, the niece of Holistik’s charismatic owner, and the two strike up a friendship that hazily veers into more. All the while, our narrator is plied with products that slim her thighs, smooth her skin, and lighten her hair. But beneath these creams and tinctures lies something sinister.

i have many opinions after the ateez ticket sale and i really want to rant bout them some more. i feel like this really showcased what i dislike about kpop as a genre and general concept and what stereotypes about it i see as (somewhat) true: that the artist is a commodity, and it's only about the money.
because wdym you have to pay 250 to 550 euros to be able to stand in front of the stage? i've been to a few rock concerts of big, internationally famous bands, and was like second row just because i arrived like 30mins earlier than i expected. and i paid 85 euros for that lol. someone i know got front row seats for paul mccartney and they were 150 each and they were considered expensive but worth it to a super fan. not to mention that at a kpop concert the general standing ticket is soooooo fucking overpriced for getting a guaranteed place behind all the vips and no way of being really close to the stage. my sister paid 90 for taylor swift standing tickets, like hello???? 100+ for a ticket is already far too much imo.
i hate that you have to pay that kind of money to see an artist you like. and for a kpop group where SEEING them is definitely part of the appeal of going and everyone knows that, it just feels so evil that companies price tours like this, knowing the fans are going to pay whatever anyway. however 550 euro is more than i pay for rent and never in my life would i pay that much just to see someone sing and dance on a stage. no shade to everyone who would and does, i'm happy for everyone who got a ticket. but still. that's just evil. isn't art supposed to be for everyone, accessible to EVERYONE and not only the priviledged?
while i'm at it i have some things to say about the vip1 things that may not be very popular opinions lmao. firstly not to mention getting signed things (like last tour i believe) just by paying a lot more than others -> people not as priviledged may never/with difficulty get something like that, and tbh many people i've seen online really thinking of themselves as 'better fans' just because they paid more. what a fucked up world this is lmao. i mean people get vip1 for barricade and the send off event right? i get wanting to be in the front row, even though i cannot understand most people then watching the concert through their phone, recording everything in hope to get their y/n moment, which is another thing i could rant about forever. anyway, the send off. idk what it's this time, but hi-touch has been what happened before so maybe it's that again and literally all i have to say about that is YIKES. bc let's be real, what you're paying for is to touch a stranger, who by virtue of contracts and people hvaing paid horrendous sums cannot actually consent to this. maybe they don't mind, maybe they do, we will never know because they're not allowed to say and everyone saying that they'd tell us if they're uncomfortable is delusional. like they get off the stage after hours of extensive physical workout, put into hair and makeup again to clean them up and make them look flawless again, and then made to sit/stand/wave/etc. i'm more than willing to pay artists, and in return i expect them to perform whatever i'm there for, but that's it. it's their job to put on a show. but does it really also have to be their job to fulfill some parasocial fantasies their fans, that they do not even know, have? especially when it's not even them doing it of their own free will. the members showing up in the pop-up stores last tour okay, if they want to say hi to fans then good for them. but staying late after a show? idk man. it really just doesn't feel right to me to treat them like products like this.

I joined tiktok in 2022 after hearing about a gyaru revival there. I deleted that app after about 5 months.
The obsession with trying to be carbon copies of 2003 magazine scans is bizarre. It's like nobody has a sense of personal style. Certain elements such as tropicals, florals, skulls and studs can be found in clothing departments, in store or online. It's not possible for everyone, but it's worth a try.
The belief that gaijin gals have to "try harder" because we don't stand out as much, implying that East Asian gals are inherently superior???????
It is absolutely FOUL that gals are excluding kids who aren't allowed to wear makeup. Give them alternatives (stickers, stamps, gemstones, tinted lip balm, hair chalk, colored extensions, etc.) and help them develop a personal style/wardrobe. When they're older, makeup won't be so scary, and they'll have a better sense of what they want.
And for the love of D.I.A. go outside!!!!! Stop picking fights with high schoolers and hang out with other j-fashion enthusiasts.

Best HD Lace Wigs: Your Ultimate Guide to Flawless Natural Hair
HD lace wigs have revolutionized the beauty industry by offering wearers a seamless, natural look. These wigs are crafted from high-definition lace, which is thinner and more transparent than traditional lace, making them undetectable when worn. Whether you're new to wigs or a seasoned wearer, this guide will help you understand why best HD lace wigs are the choice for achieving that flawless, natural hairstyle.
In this blog, we’ll explore everything you need to know about HD lace wigs, including their benefits, how to choose the best one, and essential tips for care. Let's dive in!
Tumblr media
What are HD Lace Wigs?
HD (High Definition) lace wigs are made from ultra-thin Swiss lace that blends seamlessly with your scalp, giving the appearance of a natural hairline. The thinness and transparency of the lace make it nearly invisible, making HD lace wigs ideal for those who want a wig that looks realistic.
Key Features of HD Lace Wigs:
Ultra-Thin Lace: The lace is much finer than regular lace, making it nearly undetectable on your scalp.
Natural Hairline: Creates a flawless hairline, perfect for those seeking a realistic look.
Comfortable to Wear: The thin lace material allows your scalp to breathe, offering all-day comfort.
Customizable: You can bleach the knots and tint the lace for a more tailored look.
Why Choose HD Lace Wigs?
If you're on the fence about purchasing an HD lace wig, here are some compelling reasons to consider:
1. Natural Appearance
HD lace wigs give the most realistic look, thanks to the sheer lace that blends into your skin seamlessly. Whether you're wearing a middle part, side part, or a ponytail, your hairline will look natural, boosting your confidence.
2. Lightweight and Breathable
The thin lace of an HD wig makes it lightweight and breathable, ensuring you don’t feel overheated or uncomfortable, even during long wear. This is especially beneficial in warmer climates or when wearing wigs for extended periods.
3. Versatility in Styling
With an HD lace wig, you can experiment with different hairstyles without worrying about exposing the lace. The transparent lace ensures your partings, up-dos, and curls all look natural.
4. Customization
HD lace wigs allow for easy customization. You can bleach the knots or tint the lace to perfectly match your scalp, ensuring an undetectable hairline. This level of customization makes HD lace wigs a popular choice among celebrities and influencers.
5. Durability
When taken care of properly, HD lace wigs can last a long time. Despite being thinner than other lace wigs, they are durable and can withstand regular use with the right maintenance.
How to Choose the Best HD Lace Wigs
Choosing the best HD lace wig can be overwhelming with so many options available. Here's what to consider:
1. Hair Type
HD lace wigs come in different hair types, such as synthetic and human hair. For a more natural look and feel, human hair HD lace wigs are a great option. They can be styled with heat tools, dyed, and customized to suit your preferences.
2. Hair Texture
HD lace wigs are available in various textures, including straight, wavy, curly, and kinky. Choose a texture that complements your natural hair or matches the look you’re aiming for.
3. Wig Density
Wig density refers to how thick the hair is on the wig. A density of 130% is standard and gives a natural, lightweight appearance. For a fuller look, you can opt for densities between 150% to 180%.
4. Lace Color
Ensure the lace color matches your skin tone for a flawless finish. Most HD lace wigs come in transparent lace, which is suitable for all skin tones, but tinting the lace can help achieve an even more seamless look.
5. Cap Size
HD lace wigs come with adjustable straps to fit different head sizes. Ensure you choose a wig with a cap size that fits snugly and comfortably on your head.
How to Install HD Lace Wigs
Installing an HD lace wig is relatively simple, but for the best results, follow these steps:
Step 1: Prepare Your Hair
Before applying the wig, ensure your natural hair is flat. Braiding your hair or wearing a wig cap can help achieve a smooth base.
Step 2: Apply the Wig
Place the HD lace wig on your head and adjust the position until it aligns with your natural hairline.
Step 3: Secure the Wig
Use adhesive or wig tape to secure the wig. You can also use an elastic band for additional hold.
Step 4: Customize the Hairline
To make the wig look even more natural, trim the excess lace and pluck a few hairs from the front to create a less uniform hairline.
Step 5: Style as Desired
Once the wig is secured, style it as you prefer. HD lace wigs allow for versatility, so feel free to experiment with different looks.
How to Care for HD Lace Wigs
Proper care is essential for extending the lifespan of your HD lace wig. Here are some tips:
1. Regular Washing
Wash your wig with a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner to keep the hair clean and moisturized. Avoid over-washing as this can cause the wig to become dry.
2. Detangle Gently
Use a wide-tooth comb or a wig brush to detangle your wig, starting from the ends and working your way up to prevent shedding.
3. Store Properly
When not in use, store your wig on a mannequin head or a wig stand to maintain its shape and prevent tangling.
4. Avoid Excessive Heat
While human hair HD lace wigs can be styled with heat, excessive heat can damage the hair. Always use a heat protectant and avoid using high temperatures.
Where to Buy the Best HD Lace Wigs
When it comes to purchasing the best HD lace wigs, consider these trusted retailers:
Online Beauty Stores: Websites like HairLaidy, Amazon, and AliExpress offer a wide range of HD lace wigs in different styles, textures, and price points.
Specialty Wig Shops: For personalized service and the ability to try on wigs before purchasing, visit a specialty wig shop.
Beauty Supply Stores: Many local beauty supply stores now carry high-quality HD lace wigs for immediate purchase.
Final Thoughts
HD lace wigs offer the best combination of comfort, natural appearance, and versatility. Whether you want a subtle everyday look or a glamorous style for special occasions, HD lace wigs deliver flawless results. With proper care and installation, your wig can look fresh and last for a long time.
By considering the tips and factors mentioned above, you can confidently choose the best HD lace wig that suits your needs and enhances your beauty effortlessly.

oh oh i got inspiration request from sr. (rdj dad, netflix documentary) so could you write about chris evans decided to do a Netflix documentary movie from how he became celeb to how he met his girlfriend, reader.
Boston Boy: Chris Evans Doco
A/N: OK I HAVE BEEN THINKING OF THIS SCENARIO FOR SO LONG. I ADORE THE CONCEPT. Me being a very visual person, I was like... how do I execute this? It was gonna be gifs but then I thought no like let's get that audio visual thang going. So I present to you my shitty little video montage that I spent 2 hours on my laptop trying to figure out, scouring the internet for clips (they're not mine... clearly please dont sue). I kind of set it out as the single interviews, and then you guys getting asked questions by interviewers at home and then all those little scenes.
So when you watch my poorly done video, firstly, don't judge, secondly, imagine it as little home video clips of you. I HAD TO DO IT. MY BRAIN WOULDNT LET ME POST THIS UNLESS I DID IT.
Please enjoy xo.
Tumblr media
1v1 Chris Interview
Interviewer: What’s one song that describes Y/N?
“Killer Queen. No question.” He smirked, resting his chin on his fingers.
< Video Montage of you starts with the music >
She’s just… yeah… you know you don’t meet someone like that every day and the fact that I get to spend every day with her makes me the luckiest man alive.
<Scene changes to you getting comfy on your couch, pulling up a blanket and holding a cup of tea. The room is dark being light by the various warm lights in your living room. You’re in your pyjamas.>
Interviewer: You guys ready?
Y/N: Oh, this is starting already! God, I haven’t even done my makeup.
CE: You look fine. It’s a documentary babe it’s supposed to be informal.
Chris pulled your feet up over his lap, settling in next to you.
Y/N: I still would have done my hair! I’ve never done an interview for anything besides a job, so this is a little different.
Interviewer: Just think of it as you’re in your living room chatting with friends.
Y/N: Alright shoot!
Interviewer: So, Y/N, I guess it’s funny because you don’t have a profession in the industry you had no aspirations of being famous and you’ve just been thrusted into this spotlight… what’s that like?
Y/N: I mean… it’s definitely different. And I’d be lying if I say I didn’t you know think on it and it’s hard because you have to really question is this guy, I’m seeing worth it? You know? That sacrifice of your privacy or your mundane life. Like yeah, the trips and the nice house and hotels and the events are all great and I can’t complain but you know you give a part of yourself up. That part of you that can go to the grocery store in sweatpants, the one where your whole life doesn’t come up when you google yourself. That was hard but you know I had to kind of follow my heart and I decided yeah you know; I really like this guy and why not? Sometimes you gotta take a risk and follow your heart and I’m glad I did it but I don’t think I’d do this for anyone else.
CE: Would you say I’m worth it now?
Chris smirked at you
Y/N: I’d definitely say you’re worth it.”
Interviewer: And what would you say is the hardest part?
Y/N: Well, you know no one wants to be disliked and that’s always hard to have that rejection but imagine that but from thousands of people who have never met you, don’t know you from a bar of soap who then go online and tell you that. You know that they don’t like you because you’re ugly and fat and you’re a gold digger. Let the record show, I have a really good job that I love so his money was not what did it for me. Especially, since I’m the one who always buys the coffees.
CE: That part killed me…. There’s this girl, you know, my girl that I love and she’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me and people are just going around online spewing all this hate about her, you kind of feel it’s your fault… ya know? She didn’t choose this life, I did but by extension it’s her life now. I just don’t think she deserves it. The gold digger comment on the other hand is hilarious, I think I owe her $1000 in coffees. She gets weird if I buy her a nice present on her birthday, she’s definitely not after my money.
Y/N: I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s your fault though like I knew what I was getting into, and I agreed to it getting into a relationship with you.
CE: It’s still not fair though. I have this need to protect her, ya know, that’s my job to make sure she’s safe and I can’t protect her from everything and that’s hard.
Y/N: I know honey I know.
You patted his thigh hoping the ease the pain in his voice.
Y/N: I’ve kind of grown immune to it now, these people don’t know me or my relationship so I’m able to kind of shut that out. It’s as simple as putting the phone down.
Interviewer: What’s the best part then?
Y/N: Not having to pay rent in Boston.
CE: Ya kidding!
Y/N: It’s a really tough market!
Y/N: No in seriousness, I live a really privileged life with the man I love. I had a great life before, but I think being in love and having a person makes you feel complete.
Interviewer: So, we’ll set the scene, an A-lister movie star comes up to you on a night out and starts talking to you… what’s going through your head? How did you feel? Starstruck?
Y/N: He looks like every other white dude, so I didn’t clock it immediately but when I did I thought I was being punkd or something.”
CE: Oh come on!
Y/N: No seriously and I’ve told you this I was super suspicious about it. Yeah sure, I’ve had guys come up to me in clubs but having someone who you know could have anyone they wanted, and you know I’m not the beauty standard, I don’t fit the mould of bombshell, I’m curvy and loud and I laugh like a drunk witch I just didn’t think that I was someone he’d be interested in.
CE: Speak for yourself I love your laugh.
Interviewer: So, Chris why did you go up to her?
CE: Well firstly, look at her. I mean I first saw her and I think that was kind of the first time in my life I ever got taken back by someone… I’m a big believer in love at first and I think I had that moment of “wow there she is. That’s the girl I’m gonna spend the rest of my life with.” and it’s not just her looks either she had this energy about her that was addictive and I wanted to be a part of. She was laughing and I could see the faces of the people around her they just seemed so entertained and engaged by whatever she was saying. She’s one of those people you kind of just gravitate to because she has that gift of lighting up a room. She reminds me of a quote I read once, she’s like a sunrise, she doesn’t care if you watch her rise or not she will continue to be beautiful even if no one bothers to look.
Y/N: He had this big grin talking to me the whole time and I thought oh maybe that’s an actor thing where you’re not allowed to stop smiling.
Interviewer: But you thought you were getting punkd…
Y/N: If not punkd, that he was kind of just looking for a one-night fling. Admittedly, I judged him. Definitely. I had read the tabloids, I didn’t understand why someone like him was single, it was suspicious.
CE: It’s because I hadn’t met you yet.
Y/N: Well, we know that now but back then I think I put a wall up because I didn’t want to get hurt. Getting your heartbroken by a celebrity isn’t just as simple as you block their number, his face is everywhere, I’d have to boycott certain movies. I’d be embarrassed by the fact that I trusted some playboy movie star and thought that I was special enough he wanted to be with me.
CE: God you were soooo wrong sweetheart
Y/N: I can admit that now! But yeah, it’s definitely weird trying to navigate his intentions. But he made it pretty clear from the start.
CE: She said no like 50 times.
Interviewer: You said NO?
The interviewer put on a faux gasp.
Y/N: I had my walls up I just don’t think I was willing to be fucked around by Captain America. But I think I realised he was being genuine when he was scheduled to leave to go to some other event and his people came over to kind of get him out and he looked them in the eye and said “no, I’m in the middle of something important.” I was like oh god this man is DETERMINED.
CE: You were important, I refused to leave you alone until you at least agreed to one date.
Y/N: We would of been there all night if I was more stubborn.
CE: Thank god you caved to my good looks and charm.
Y/N: Yeah that and you also promised me a pasta dinner… that’s my advice to all the girls watching never turn down a good meal especially if the guy is paying.
CE: I learnt early on good food is the way to your heart.
Y/N: And then every date after that he’d bring me chocolate like boxes of truffles or those big industrial packs of Reece’s.
CE: She loves Reece’s.
Interviewer: So how do you keep this spark alive? Seems like you two are really in love even after facing some challenges that normal couples wouldn’t.
CE: Sex.
Y/N: Chris!
CE: What? I can’t say that? Look I’m a man, who is lucky he gets to go to bed most nights with a beautiful woman I think that’s a really good part of our relationship that I can’t see going away anytime soon.
Y/N: Intimacy is definitely there that’s for sure but I think also even when you are away we are constantly communicating and planning to do things we enjoy together.
CE: Yeah, when I come home from filming or a press tour my first priority is making sure we have that time to reconnect whether it’s a week, a day or even just a few hours doing something with her and no one else makes me feel a little bit more human again.
Interviewer: Would you say your job makes you feel less human?
CE: In a way yeah, I mean, I’m playing another character 24/7 and I love my job don’t get me wrong but you’re on set for hours every day and then you get pushed into interviews and you have to be “on” all the time you know smiling and answering the same questions for hours. I think that’s why a lot of actors do seem unhappy and it’s because they don’t get to come home to someone who wraps you in this hug of quotidian. I’m Chris Evans most of the time but I come home and to her I’m just “Chrissy baby” and she doesn’t expect me to act a certain way, I can just be myself and pretend for a few hours that I’m just this normal guy coming home to his wife after a day of work.
Y/N: Girlfriend. He means girlfriend. We aren’t married.
CE: Not yet but it’s definitely on the cards. Sorry I slip up a bit, it feels like we are married but yeah no secret wedding or anything.
Interviewer: Have you guys talked about marriage and kids, we know Chris is set on a big Boston family..
CE: Oh, every day.
Y/N: It’s definitely in the works, Chris and I have a similar background in the fact we are big family people so it’s a no brainer that in a couple of years you’ll see me popping out babies.
CE: But for now, we are enjoying life just us and Dodger.
Y/N: Yeah, there’s no rush. It’ll happen though.
Interviewer: How many kids is the perfect number?
Y/N: 3
CE: 4
Interviewer: 3 or 4 which is it?
CE: My number is actually coming down from 5 but obviously it’s her body so if after 3 she feels up for one more, I won’t say no but whatever makes her happy.
Y/N: I need to see how I feel but I’m confident that Chris will be one of those hands-on dads, so I won’t be left alone with 4 kids under 4 running around.
CE: Oh, definitely not, stay at home daddy over here.
Interviewer: Seems you two have given lots of thought to it any baby names?
CE: The baby names are safely locked up in Y/N notes app but yeah, we’ve sorted that out.
Y/N: I’m not spoiling them.
You grin at the gorgeous man next to you.
< Chris’s voice over as scenes of you two moving around airports, packing bags and messing around in green rooms plays >
Life is crazy for me right now; you know with ASP and all these upcoming movies and projects. I don’t think that’s something I’d be able to do if I didn’t have her. She is singlehandedly keeping my engine running. Because there are days when it gets too much, and you have so many different opinions coming your way as to what you should do and how you should act. And there she is, right next to me or a phone call away and I can just turn to her. I definitely value her opinion above anyone else’s and that’s because I think she only gives it when I ask or when she thinks I need to hear it. She knows me better than myself so if she says, “Hey slow down.” I listen because she knows. I know its cheesy, but she is my rock, she is the calm I crave amongst chaos and a minute in her arms helps me get up to do another day.
She inspires me every day, the way she gets up and works tirelessly for others, pursues her passion and is unapologetically herself. They say you’re attract to people who have what you lack, and I think her confidence to say, “Hey you may not like it but I’m not going to conform to what you want me to be.” Is something I admire, and I think being around someone like that really gives me that bit of confidence to kind of shush the anxiety. There’s a certain intelligence that comes with knowing it’s not worth it to change yourself to appease others and that’s why when I say she is the smartest person I know, I mean that.
She’s not just my best friend, she’s, my soulmate.

Rayati, honored readers
When I was a baby lesbian in the 80s I frequented the legendary bookstore Lambda Rising, which was located in the rather upscale gayborhood of DuPont Circle in DC. My favorite part of that store was the rack of zines made by queers of all kinds for various queer niches. I picked one up called Artemis, which purported to be for women who like women who look like women. I thought “that kind of sounds like me,” and I avidly read and reread it. It was clear that the community who made this zine were UK-based, and I was a pretty miserable teenager on the east coast of the US, struggling with more than my own share of stuff, so nothing more came of it.
About 10 years later, it was the mid-90s and I was using gopher to read Usenet. I kid you not! That is how ancient I am. I confess that I was poking around a number of groups at that time that fell into the “alt.sex” category. One day there appeared a message on the femdom group about a Feminine Empire where only girls were allowed, and that I must jump through the “shimmering portal” quickly as it would close in short order. There was a URL, which was a thing of which I had only become aware within a year or so of that fateful afternoon.
The site was called Femmeworld, and it was an absolute delight! I won’t go into any detail here about that site, as several very intelligent and competent blogesses here on Tumblr have done that. I learned about blondes and brunettes, and I was struck with a bolt of revelation that I was a brunette, and that explained me! I made sense! Of course I understood that this was all within a fantasy world and that there was no such thing as an Aristasian brunette, but it revealed to me that other women had these feelings and experiences, and had thought about and discussed it enough to invent a fictional designation.
To cut to the chase, here were these women, some of whom were enby, but also female essentialist. They were anti-patriarchal, but anti-feminist. Advocates of complete state welfare (see the “colleges” that girls can choose to live in) but entirely anti-socialist, and in fact monarchical. And of course one can’t hear about “blondes and brunettes” without immediately detecting at least a bit of racism. When questioned about that, they always insisted that in lands where girls were dark-skinned, the blondes simply had hair of silver or white, and honestly it’s a trivial point, and could I please drop the subject?
I won’t go into an extensive discussion of the implications here, but I am sensitive to them. I was raised in an actively anti-racist white family. I always strive to be aware of racism and white supremacy wherever I go in the real world and the virtual. I can only tell you that because all of my interactions were virtual, it would be hard for me to absolve the Aristasians of any such allegations, but I can say that the welcoming, vulnerable, friendly nature of these ladies suggests that hate of any kind would be quite alien to them. There were a couple of girls in Second Life whose avatars appeared to be Black, and they were accepted with as much joy and enthusiasm as all other girls present. More than that I can’t say.
For another 10 years, I popped in and out of Aristasian spaces. I contributed to forums, and even took part for a short time in an online schoolgirl RP by email. Some time in the mid aughts, it was announced that an Aristasian Embassy would be established in the virtual world of Second Life. I immediately started an SL account so I could go there (and how I spent the next 15 or so years in SL is a whoooole other narrative that isn’t particularly relevant.) I attended a couple of balls at the Embassy, and was very graciously complimented on my gown. I was present for Operation Bridgehead, but was privy to very little inside information about the disagreements that ensued. If I knew anything about that, I would not share it here. Despite any philosophical differences with these ladies, I have great respect and affection for them, and would be unwilling to air their dirty laundry, so to speak.
I was privileged to get to know Sushuri Madonna, who was at that time the undisputed leader, at least of the contingent that could be found in SL. She was entirely delightful, intelligent, and kind, and had an extremely delicate nature. Despite my best efforts not to offend, I am sure my most carefully curated speech had to seem terribly coarse to her. We exchanged some email, and she was kind enough to offer editorial assistance with a few bits of Aristasian fiction I was toying with. What little I learned about her personally, I will of course not disclose, but I felt that we were friends, and I cared for her very much. I hope she is still alive and well, and that the demise of the persona called Cure Dolly does not indicate her real life death.
Thank you for reading, and I would very much welcome discussion on the topic from anyone interested.
