I've spent the last hour rewatching the last twilight trailer over and over again and for some reason the running scene is instantly making me bawl my eyes out every. single. time. I wonder why.
It just feels so powerful to watch day run I think, if you compare it to his state in the beginning.
I'm so scared what will happen to me when this plotline actually airs...I haven't been this emotionally invested in a story since haikyuu. (I still to this day am physically unable to read chapter 365)
Which is hard to believe if you look at my blog for more than 2 seconds but damn...this is special interest material

20 Q's for Fic Writers
I don't think @oloreandil meant to tag me but I'm doing it anyway!
1 - How many works do you have on ao3?
215. I had a huge head start when I did one ficlet a day in 2015, but not all 365 of those made it onto Ao3 (and a few of them were chapters added to other fics.
2 - What's your total ao3 word count?
1,022,445. I'm so sad I didn't even notice when I went over a million on there! But upon checking it looks like it was during my posting for the HQ Monsterlovers Big Bang, so that's not surprising.
3 - What fandoms do you write for?
I mainly write for Haikyuu!!, but I started with Free!. I've also written for the MCU once or twice and VLD once, but I think there's only one of those ones on Ao3.
4 - What are your top five fics by kudos?
Fool's Gold, Curiosity Killed the Cat (and Satisfaction Brought it Back) , both of which surprised me, Growing Old in Mediocrity, which I seriously thought would be number one, Those Who Wander, and Brave.
5 - Do you respond to comments?
Honestly, no. I feel bad about it and I hate it, but I don't do it. I get so anxious that I'm going to somehow offend someone, or about what I'm going to say, and just. Ugh.
6 - What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Four Christmases That Totally Sucked (And One That Kind of Didn't) is the only fic I have left up that's just straight angst. I have a lot of hurt/comfort, but pretty much everything I write has a happy ending in one form or another. There is one other fic that exists only if you know where to find it here on tumblr that I deleted all the links to because I got literal death threats over the sad ending and I'm not playing that game with y'all.
7 - What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
This one depends on your definition of happy ending. Like I said pretty much all of my fics have a happy ending because of who I am as a person, but some of them require more work to get to than others. the best revenge (you are a life well lived) is by far the one that fits this question the best. Not only did the characters have to work hard for that happy ending, but I did too. To this day when I'm feeling trapped in a PTSD spiral, I can often point at that fic to remind myself that there is a way out, and that there is a life beyond the lowest point. Those few of you who know just how much I was going through leading up to posting this fic, including the night of posting it, y'all know exactly how much that means to me.
8 - Do you get hate on fics?
I have, but not in a long time. The thing is, I'm kind of an oblivious moron, sitting happily in my little corner of the sandbox and making the blorbos kiss. I do know there had been hate about me that I never even noticed, but the only hate I actually saw was back in 2015, so I'm glad about that.
9 - Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I have been told I write the fluffiest smut on the face of the planet, which is hilarious considering that most of what I write is also pretty kinky. I've been in the sex industry in one form or another for a few years now, mostly on the retail side, and I know some crazy shit, and it's kind of a special interest now. So erotica and smut are my bread and butter, but even when there are chains and whips and chastity devices, there's also a lot of love and aftercare and fluffy, schmoopy, cuddly grossness.
10 - Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Crossovers just kind of... pop out of me. None of them are crazy imo... most of them are Haikyuu!! and Free!, though I'm pretty sure there have been some knb kids as well.
11 - Have you ever had a fic stolen?
It was the funniest thing, my longest fic, the one I'm most proud of, was snatched and put up on Amazon for sale. It was a huge thing, so I wasn't the only author scraped, but let me tell you seeing my gay anime magic au fanfiction sold as an actual book with no changes to even the title or the description or character names still gives me a bit of a giggle.
12 - What's the longest you've spent working on one fic? And the shortest?
the best revenge objectively shouldn't have taken me over two years to write, but when you factor in all the life shit that happened to produce that fic, yes it should have. Prior to that, I spent 10 months or so writing The Anatomy of an Eternity and I'm so proud of how it turned out and have spent the last, oh god, six years chasing that high.
13 - Have you ever co-written a fic before?
One time a co-written fic just fell out of @ezzydean and I like an egg we didn't realize we were laying. Just. Plop! Ezzy re-formatted our chat log into jagged pieces and Feathers on the windowsill and to this day I don't know how it happened.
14 - What's your all-time favorite ship? From all fandoms?
I feel like it's unfair to say SakuAtsu considering I have posted exactly one (1) fic of them, but y'all have no idea how badly these to assholes have taken over my life. I had to give them their own section in my 4thewords writing organization. I hate them so much someone stop them.
15 - What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
There's a running joke that's not actually a joke about "the fanfic I will never publish". It's currently over 100k long and I doubt it'll ever see the light of day. I would also like to finish How Many Crows Does it Take to Screw In a Lightbulb but I don't know if I can finish it as is or if I need to tear it down and start all over since the timeskip.
16 - What are your writing strengths?
I've been told my characterization is gold, and I'm not discounting that. I think that I'm also just really good at Putting Dudes Into Situations. Since I am, as mentioned, sitting in a sandbox and making the blorbos kiss, that's really what writing fic is to me. I just wanna see what happens to these characters if I stick them in different combinations. I wanna see if they maintain the same basic form when they're not playing volleyball, but are instead navigating the faerie court, or in a magic college, or sailing on pirate ships. How much does environment change who we are and how much is it intrinsic to ourselves?
17 - What are your writing weaknesses?
Shiny Object Syndrome. I see a fun new AU and I have to physically restrain myself from chasing it down a rabbit hole and ignoring the sixteen other projects I have going on.
18 - Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Since I'm an Anglophone I don't know how much of a leg I have to stand on in this question. That said, I do believe there are certain things that can't be expressed outside of their native language. That said, I don't think it's my place as a white USAmerican to try and tell stories about what it's like to be xyz other race/culture/experience that I simply don't have access to. I do use Japanese terms in-prose for certain things. Genkan and Engawa are the most prominent things I can think of, since most English-speaking cultures don't really have equivalents in our own homes. Lines of dialog in other cultures are an interesting thing that I tend to avoid specifically because I don't know how to do it well in most of the languages that would make sense for what I'm writing (I speak enough Spanish to pass for a precocious pre-schooler, and I have a decent amount of Latin and Irish under my belt, but none of those really have a chance to come up in what I write, unfortunately).
19 - First fandom you wrote for?
Free!. The very first ficlet posted on this tumblr account was written January 1, 2015, and it was the very first piece of fanfic I ever wrote. Because I'm insane like that.
20 - Favourite fic you've written?
I love most of my children equally. That said, the best revenge (you are a life well lived), The Anatomy of an Eternity, and Rowan Berries, Iron, and Other School Supplies all have a very special place in my heart.
I'm not gonna tag anyone directly but if anyone does it from seeing this, please tag me so I can read!

Haikyuu Chapter 365: Endings And Beginnings 2
REFLECTION:
Hinata got a fever. I would make a joke here but I'm relieved that he didn't have something more serious. Sadly, reality has decided to ensue and his Shonen keetness has finally begun to work against him. He's been "on" since the previous day and his body working at 100% overtime has taken a number on his immune system.
Hinata is all I Can Still Fight but Takeda puts his foot down like he did with Sawamura. Hinata has to be taken out of the rest of the game. Takeda gives him a speech that boils down to "This is going to happen again and you should be prepared for it. With your height and physical ability, you need to always put your health first.
Tanaka and Tsukishima take a The Man Show way to cheering him up, calling him a baby and telling him that with his mutant metabolism, he'll be fine after a night's sleep. Sawamura is more adult about it, telling Hinata that the team needs him so he needs to rest up so that he can get back out onto the court. The rest of the team gives similar encouragements but Kageyama, infamous cunt that he is, simply says this:
"The one who stays on the court the longest...I win this one too."
Hinata takes it like a champ though:
Hoshiumi, before Hinata leaves the court, shouts that he'll be waiting for him. Not in this match but when they inevitably meet again Haikyuu 3000: the controversial apocalyptic sci-fi sequel where Hinata awakens from a cryo-sleep to take on despotic aliens and cyborg former allies and rivals in a deadly volleyball landscape.
The chapter ends with one of the twins douchely pointing out it took several of the best volleyball teams in the prefecture but Hinata has finally been forced out.

Now then
Can we just appreciate how attentive Kageyama actually is? How he notices all the things that leads up to Hinata's condition?
And how he knows EXACTLY WHAT HINATA NEEDED TO HEAR. NO PATRONIZING, JUST PLAIN, HARD TRUTH.
To some of you, it may come off like Kageyama is being a massive jerk talking about winning when Hinata is incapacitated, but let me tell you how that statement is more than what meets the eye.
He's saying 'I win this time, too' THIS TIME. This specific moment. That means there's going to be a next time, that this is not Hinata's end, that next time, it could be Hinata's win, or Kageyama's win again, who knows. The point is, Kageyama is still acknowledging him as a worthy rival, that Hinata is welcome to challenge him again. He's not being smug or arrogant about it. Look at his face. That's conviction and promise written in his eyes.
And THAT was the encouragement Hinata needs. THAT was what prompted him to literally wipe his tears and face yet another barrier in his journey, and do the smartest thing he can do right now, accept what's happened and rest.
Hoshiumi's words of I'll be waiting for you speaks volumes. Here's another one strong player who acknowledges him, who looks forward to meeting him again, this match or in the future.
Hoshiumi is on the background saying this, but Kageyama is on the foreground, in a bigger panel, wearing the exact same expression, and that is proof enough that he's telling Hinata that too. He'll wait for him and he strongly believes he'll come back. Because he knows Hinata isn't someone who can be easily deterred by something like this. Because he trusts his greatest rival and his strongest ally. His partner.
And finally, Hinata's bow is of APOLOGY, but most of all, of THANKS. Both to Hoshiumi and Kageyama, but especially for the latter.
To Hoshiumi, he's apologizing for cutting their battle short when they're just getting started, and thanking him for the acknowledgement and for the match well-played thus far.
To Kageyama, he's apologizing for leaving when they're having so much fun and playing at their utmost best yet, but mostly, expressing his gratitude for everything—for giving him the opportunities he couldn't have by himself, for the motivation and drive to win bought by their rivalry, but most importantly, he's grateful for the partner he can trust and rely on.
And as painful as it is to admit, it's almost as if he’s taking a bow for probably his last match as a first year. Let me repeat that. As a FIRST YEAR. This isn't the end for him just yet. He's still growing, both literally and figuratively, and this is nothing but a small set-back. The little monster will be back and you better brace yourself because he'll return with his swords and spears and knives all sharpened to a deadly point.

I... I definitely wasn't ready... My poor baby...
Now that he has to go out of the court, it's like a part of him is missing. That gym is his place in the world, where he can be himself, he can be strong, he can be special, he can be useful for his teammates... it must hurt so so so much to leave it, even just for a while.
Respect for Hoshiumi!
And, Kageyama makes me freak out, because Hinata gains some strength after hearing about their promise of their first encounter. What keeps him alive on the court is always his competition with Kageyama. His final goal will always be to beat him.
(my kagehina heart can't handle it ajkskdkfl)
I hope Hinata gets better mentally. He really needs to be cheered up and to gain strength in his mind and heart, otherwise he will collapse. Maybe Tenma will visit him?? I really hope so.

First of Daichi taking care of his kouhai ♥️♥️ I originally thought that this was another callback / parallel to when Daichi got injured but I can't find the exact moment (if it exists) still awesome though.
It almost looks like it parallels from Kita's note to Atsumu when Kita sent him home when he caught a cold though.
Kourai formally acknowledging Hinata as a rival!! He'll be waiting for him next time around, and Hinata's [two] rivals will be waiting for him once he gets back on his feet.
This goddamn callback. I laughed at the original because it seemed like Bokuto just forgot which month it was and that was hilarious ... and then we get this punch to the gut.
Maybe it's wishful thinking but I'm guessing Kenma (king of the overworked fever) is heading off to check on his friend.
We also have coach Ukai waving over Shimada and Takinoue to [maybe] go check on Hinata since he has to stay. But Tsukishima Akiteru and Udai Tenma are up there to so maaaaaybe we'll get an infirmary scene with Hinata and Udai (+ Kenma) next chapter.
I'd take a shot and say maybe Kita too since he's been posted as Daichi-like and protective of his teammate's health (especially the ones like Hinata) but I'm not sure enough about the relationship to say it so confidently, though I'd like to see him lecturing Hinata.
It might sound awfully ominous but lil Hinata's a monster now who strikes wariness into his opponents. Like damn, this chapter is him being acknowledged by three U19 National candidates right here.
On another note, I will literally scream if this doesn't go at least into Hinata's second year.
Not to mention the (as it has been pointed out by others) parallel between the name of this chapter and the first ever chapter: "Endings and Beginnings"

So this moment in chapter 365 with all of the third years telling Hinata to rest up, eat, and stay warm feels very much like a final bow from them. Like we get all of these panel's in a row of them mothering their kouhai for the last time.
I'm sure they'll get more of a goodbye but this feels like an end to Hinata's first year.

Hinata collapses and Karasuno calls a time out an WHAT IS MY MUFFIN THINKING?!?! I'm gonna call it at concerned.
So this is maybe one of the biggest indicators of character growth for Kageyama (the king paying such close attention to his teammates) and of course it's when Hinata's like this. Only he noticed that something was off; not the coaches, captain, or anyone else. He's been doing so much better with his people skills lately but damn, right now.
So yeah, even if Hinata somehow is cleared to come back (beyond doubtful) there's no way they're going to just toss him back in. Look at them [all of them] they failed their kouhai, teammate, student, friend by not noticing. No way they're letting that happen again.
And Hinata desperately trying to reason with them like he wasn't able to stand back up a minute ago (very much his character but my duuude).
Takeda steeling himself in the face of Hinata's utter rage and delivering that fantastic pep talk 😍😍 best teacher
Ohhh, Takeda's speech is on point but also telling Hinata to take care of himself and never let this happen again. Notice something's off and instead of pushing through stop and account for it so you aren't upended like this again.
Damn! Takeda took Hinata seriously and remembered that like this is such a magnificent callback I don't even know. We know who's getting the best teacher / coach award though. God damn!
So there's the image of Oikawa watching and the general consensus from the fandom that he basically pushed himself too hard and injured his knee (or. the mismatched knee protection), emphasizing that while Hinata has been pushing himself past his limits this is overstepping that.
The line about grit reminds me of Kourai's t-shirt, whether it's related or not I'm not sure but it seems to fit tbh.
This is too long so I have to split it up:

As we all know by now Hinata's out with a not insignificant fever during the Kamomedai match so I'm here to speculate wildly over all of the foreshadowing leading up to this point.
First, and perhaps the earliest is after Hinata's pilgrimage for New Year's when Daichi evicts them from the gym and specifically tells them not to go catching cold. This approximately four days out from the start of the national tournament.
Then we get this scene with Kita being all captain-ly and hardcore berating Atsumu for pushing himself and not resting when he knew he was sick, and kicking him out of the gym.
We also got Kuroo talking about how Kenma always used to go home and catch a fever whenever practice was too hard. That combined with him specifically saying after the Karasuno v. Nekoma match that he was going to end up going home and catching a fever.
That's it for now but it's really interesting how much there is when you go back and look. This turn was so masterfully woven though that I couldn't even tell before it was spelled out, then all the details fell into place.
The other parts:
