-Daichi, the type of husband that got really anxious when he was clutching onto the box that held your engagement ring but held the straightest face ever. You couldn't tell that he was shaking like crazy either because he had his hands in his pockets the whole time. However, he does manage to pull himself together and regain his confidence to propose to you, to which you said yes!

-Daichi, the type of husband to be so patient with you. If you've talked about having kids with him, he'd wait until you're ready. He'd even get that little suitcase full of things you'd need at the hospital and jump out of bed when you think your water broke.

-Daichi, the type of husband to always call you when he's out on patrols. Especially when he knows he will end up working overtime, he doesn't want to worry you and wants to tell you that he'll be home later than usual.

-Daichi, the type of husband to always wake up before you to cook breakfast. The times that he'd be sleeping in would most likely be on his days off so he could just hold you in bed, or if he's sick. Daichi would also probably have a pretty consistent morning routine.

-Daichi, the type of husband to also wake up the kids while you're snoozing. He'd tip-toe over to their room and whisper that they've got to get ready for the day (school) while gently opening the blinds for the sunlight to peek through.

-Daichi, the type of husband to definitely plan the best date nights ever that could even last till the next morning. He'd even arrange a little schedule where he could drop off and pick up the kids from his parents' house so you two could have all the time in the world together.

-Daichi, the type of husband to give you his full support with whatever you want to set your goal towards. He loves seeing you grow in your different interests and will definitely even help you out with them/or educate himself more about what you want to achieve.

-Daichi, the type of husband to love just spending his quiet bedtime routine with you. Just cuddling in bed right next to you while you both binge watch your favorite shows. These moments with you give him time to kick back and unwind from being a hard-working cop and a loving father which he absolutely loves.

-Daichi, the type of husband to help you bathe the kids while you cook dinner. It's just the simple moments at home that he'd enjoy the most. Doesn't matter if he's a room away from you, knowing that you're both under the same roof makes him happy even if that means doing the chores you're a bit too lazy to finish.

-Daichi, the type of husband to bring you little things when he's off of patrol early. Could be food, a drink, or even flowers. If you've mentioned that you're craving some takoyaki, he'd stop by a takoyaki store on the way home to get takeout for you.

Extra: there might be more characters but i tried to add as many captains as i could remember even former captains,might make a part 2 with other characters^^

Daichi sawamura

-surprised but accepts the compliment wholeheartedly

-would be bashful and blush but would play it off like it was no big deal

-very modest about whatever you complimented him on

-the rest of the day he'd think about it and might even smile or smirk a little

-his teammates will ask what happened as they caught him in the act and he'll just brush it off as "something he remembered" but they can clearly see whatever it was had him distracted a bit

-might even catch you the next day having feeling bad and compliment you next with a grin

Kuroo tetsuro

-smirks immediately getting almost big boned about it

-accepts the compliment and throws in a grin complimenting you back

-finds it endearing and can't hide how happy it makes him to hear

-the rest of the day he's hyper at practice,giving a big speech than he usually does and has a big grin that everyone finds kind of distrubing

-his teammates will ask what happened curious,but he shrugs them off,but if they insist he might just brag about it (more specifically to taketora)

-does his best in every game,tho he always did that,he'd get more fired up because of it

Oikawa toru

-despite him being used to the compliments from others,when it's from you,he gets more flutered while trying to compose his usual dramatic self

-would try and play it off as no big deal as well, "well of course you'd think that,i am awesome after all"

-has the widest grin as he flaunts the compliment to iwa who probably most likely wouldn't care and just wants him to get back to practice

-would constantly try and do things to get your attention for more compliments,trying to show off

-would get annoyed when you didn't while also teasing you about the compliment to see if you'd maybe give more or your reactions

Bokuto kotaro

-just like oikawa he'd get flustered and excited,tho it's just a compliment,he'd thrive off of it the rest of the day

-would always try and impress you as well,trying to get your attention like a kid

-"did you see that spike?" "I was awesome right?!" "I'm the best ace,right??right??!"

-honestly it was a little obnoxious but the guy loves compliments especially from you,plus the team was able to win cuz of it so no one really cared much

-would compliment you back and give a hug right after

-would get mad and pout when you complimented one of his teammates but not him

ushijima wakatoshi

-would stare at you for a moment processing your words then simply state "thank you" like it was nothing and walk away

-he doesn't mean to be rude or a bit cold about it,he's just too stunned plus half of his mind is focused on volleyball that he didn't expect a random compliment

-would later try and think of a compliment for you to give

-"your hair...looks nice" something like that or along those lines he would say with like barely a hint of a smile but he'd really mean it!

-wouldn't have thought much of the compliment but if you'd had a smile or some expression he'd think about it the rest of the day while trying to stay focused

kita shinsuke

- would be a bit more surprised,raising an eyebrow,before shifting back to his cool demeanor and nod

-he'd appreciate the compliment while throwing one randomly back without any affect or expression

- simply a "you look quite pretty/good looking today" while he focus back on sipping his water like he said nothing at all, not even giving you a glance

-wouldn't really think about the compliment much but once he told the twins about it atsumu looked at him like he was either stupid or crazy

-"you seriously had no filter?!" -atsumu miya

moniwa kaname(former captain)

-would stare at you for a moment and blush embarrasingly

-would accept the compliment though a bit bashful,probably scratching his head with a "thanks,i didn't think anyone noticed"

-would compliment you back while stumbling over his words

-wouldn't really get distracted unless someone brought it up then he's back to his flustered mess

-would watch you or stare at you without noticing as the compliment replays in his mind but tries to keep focus

-would probably try and be around you more or ask to hang out

futakuchi kenji

-would be stunned to say the least

-probably a little flustered pointing at himself as he can't believe a girl complimented him

-would flirt and compliment you back and once he get a reaction would smirk and walk away

-internally screaming but plays it cool

-might even try and impress you but fails,his teammates laugh at him and he yells at them "don't laugh at your captain!!"

-brushes it off and comes up to you "so,anything you doing tonight?"

-would blush or get flustered if you had seen it and laughed at him

-"h-hey" couldn't help but smile anyways

terushima yuji

-would have been a step ahead and complimented you first,but if you gave him a compliment he'd be star struck and basically already planning your wedding

-would give you more compliments,it might even turn into a war of who can make who flustered the most

-would love teasing you any chance he got

-would even tease his teammates too about getting a compliment

-after his games if you gave him a compliment on his attacks or how well he did he'd become flustered and smile saying "thank you,cutie" and might even ask to go on a date

-if you decline,he'd keep asking days later

you were working on your computer, busy with something else than him, and he didn’t like that 

the man was clingy and he loved attention

he disappeared without you realizing it, and it almost hurt his feelings, but he had another idea in his mind 

the only thing that got you out of your work was the sudden music playing in the living room of your apartment 

you finally left your computer to follow the music, and you saw Bokuto waiting for you with a proud smile on his face 

“here you are!” he’s happy, you can tell it by the huge smile on his lips 

he grabbed your hand and before you could say anything, you were against his chest 

“dance with me!” 

you can’t say no, not when he’s looking at you with those eyes 

maybe your work could wait for you minutes

Kuroo Tetsuro

it had been raining for hours now, and you were tired of waiting for it to stop 

you were working at the library with your boyfriend, Kuroo, who was focused on what he was writing 

you were looking through the window, almost hypnotized by the rain pouring outside 

Kuroo noticed you, and he looked up from his book to look at you

a soft smile on his lips, he grabbed your chin to make you look at him 

“not working, huh?” you looked away, a sigh leaving your lips 

“yeah, I’m kinda bored” you didn’t look good, and Kuroo took it personally : he had to make his princess feel better 

“follow me” he stood up from his chair, grabbing your hand so you would follow him outside the library 

before you realized it, you were under the rain with your boyfriend, who was laughing at you and at your reaction 

“Tetsu, what are you-” he cut your sentence by pulling your closer to him, as he started to dance slowly with you 

“I’m keeping you entertained” a proud smile appeared on his lips and you punched his arm softly 

he was an idiot, but he was your idiot after all  

Sawamura Daichi 

you were exhausted because of your exams, as you were spending all your free time studying for it

and Daichi noticed it 

as the amazing boyfriend he was, he couldn’t let you do that without helping you in any way possible 

he told you to join him at the gymnase after your class, pretexting an emergency that he couldn’t say anywhere else in public 

you entered the gymnase which was completely dark, searching for your boyfriend who wasn’t answering your calls 

suddenly, the lights were on and you saw the “emergency” he was talking about previously 

Daichi was standing there, a bunch of flowers between his hands and a huge smile on his lips 

“Daichi, what is that?” you couldn’t process what was happening

“you need to relax, and I’m gonna help you” he put the flowers on the bench and came closer to you, grabbing your hands to leave a kiss on each 

he made you do a spin, before he brought you closer to him

“just let go, okay?” you nodded at his words, resting your head against his shoulder 

you closed your eyes and started to follow his moves as he started to slowly dancing with you between his arms 

Ushijima Wakatoshi

he was focus on his training, as always 

nothing was more important for him than volleyball

well almost nothing, because you were here 

you were waiting for him on the bench, scrolling on your phone, being as bored as ever 

you sighed loudly, trying to get your boyfriend’s attention ; and it worked 

Ushijima turned around to look at you, the ball between his hands

“what?” he asked, tilting his head to the side 

“I’m bored! Do something with me!” 

he didn’t know what he was supposed to say

he never had been good with this, so he simply looked at you without saying anything

you suddenly started to play a song on your phone, putting it on the bench right next to where you were previously sitting 

“dance with me” you said with a huge smile, and Ushijima looked at you in disbelief 

he didn't know how to dance, what was he supposed to do? 

you grabbed his hand and brought him to the middle of the court 

he wasn’t really good at that, but if it made you happy, he was ready to try 

nothing was more important than volleyball, except you 

at the end of the day, I'm nothing more than a haikyuu girlie so pls ask anything with the haikyuu boys and I'll do it

Nekoma 2nd years in their 3rd year braindump

Captain - Fukunaga

Vice Captain - Tora

Despite his quiet nature Fukunaga gets chosen as captain and he's suprisingly good. He has a way of leading without saying much, he just stares at people and they somehow understand what he means. Besides that he's the best option by default, Tora's too quick-to-anger and Kenma would never take a job with that much responsibility. If either of them was in charge they'd fight constantly since Tora would run that shit like the millitary while Kenma would try way too little. Fukunaga's the perfect balance— he's respected by both his third-year peers, keeps the energy fun with his jokes (but still knows when to take things seriously), gets super into the game, and isn't afraid to douse troublemakers with a bucket of water. He also brings snacks.

As vice captain Tora's essentially Fukunaga's personal megaphone. He does 90% of the yelling, scolds first-years who interupt the coach, and is the go-to-guy for gathering up the team for huddles. Initially some of the new players doubt Fukunaga's captain skills and although Fukunaga himself isn't bothered Tora gets super defensive of him. A lot of shouting about respecting your upperclassmen and whatnot. He also has the tendency to rile himself up (the other teams like to provoke him) but Fukunaga knows how to keep him in check

Tora and Fukunaga insist that Kenma is “Honorary Captain” and convince the new members to call him that. Kenma hates it. He tried to stop them but by the first week it had already stuck. Despite his distaste towards the nickname Kenma's a cornerstone of Nekoma's leadership, he's the brain after all! He's still the strategic mastermind of the team and first-years often go to him for advice (much to his dismay). He doesn't love being relied on by so many people but he tries his best for Kuroo's sake (who he calls to rant to at least 4 times a week).

Fukunaga asked Kuroo to teach him the “We are blood” chant so he could continue the tradition, but the first time he tried it in an actual game he burst out laughing before getting through a single line. Then Tora—being way too intense as always—started yelling at him to do it right, which only made him laugh harder. In the end Kenma put aside his embarrasement and did the damn chant, just to get it over with. Tora and Fukunaga were so proud that they tried to hug him right there in the middle of the court. The whole thing was a mess.

On his last day as captain the first-years dump a bucket of water over Fukunaga's head. Karma at last.

Cafe Cutie

Summary: Ushijima has a little crush on a girl who shares his favorite coffee shop

Warnings: none, fluff

Everyday before practice, Ushijima would pick up his iced americano from the cafe down the street. 

And everyday he would see you, sitting by the window with your own drink between your hands. Eyes bouncing around the coffee shop before finally settling on him, and giving him the little smile and wave he so eagerly looked forward to each morning. 

Your smile made your eyes upturn slightly, bright and awake even in the early hours of the day. He loved that about you, and it helped him stay motivated to get to practice early. Ushijima tried his best to notice every little detail about you in the moments you blessed him with those waves, tucking the details into the back of his brain forever. 

Like the freckles that speckled across parts of your face, the dimples on your cheeks and the tiny crinkles by your eyes that appeared when you gave him a soft smile. Like your collar bones tempting him from just above the neckline of your sweater. Or your tiny hands that barely made it around the mug of whatever it was you drank every morning. 

Ushijima swallowed roughly, returning your greeting before quickly turning out of the cafe and trying to conceal the grin breaking its way across his lips. 

It was business as usual for Ushijima the next few days, only seeing you briefly in the cafe before rushing off to practice- but thoughts of you stayed with him. Long hours of workouts were passed in seconds as he imagined you standing next to him in the gym. Watching, with him the center of your attention. Even winning matches felt bitter sweet, because he could so easily picture you on the sidelines, running into his open arms to congratulate him on a job well done.

But unfortunately, Ushijima’s one major shortcoming was communication. His teammates even referred to him as a “volleyball idiot”, whatever that was. 

Sometimes he would give you a small “hello” or “good morning”, but your conversation never went further than that. It was pure torture. He was confident that if you had only been introduced properly that things would be different, but Ushijima knew that he was only a stranger in the cafe to you. 

“It would not be polite to disturb her peace or approach her against her will.” 

“Dude. Just say hi, it’s not that weird!” 

Hoshiumi honestly could not believe his ears. Not only was Ushijima chatting up a storm instead of warming up, but he was talking about a girl. Ushijima was hardly ever interested in something that had nothing to do with volleyball, and as far as Hoshiumi knew, girls were certainly never on his radar before now… 

“We exchange greetings all the time, that’s not the issue-”

“Ask her what her coffee order is.” Kageyama cut in with a surprisingly normal answer, and now Hoshiumi was sure that he had woken up in another dimension this morning. 

“I didn’t know you were good at this sort of thing. Thank you.” Rising to his full height and turning towards the court with a newfound energy, Ushijima had found his answer.  And two days later, on a Thursday morning, the opportunity arose. 

You were a bit later than usual in arriving at the cafe, and today you were in line directly behind Ushijima at the counter. He took a deep breath, willing the buzzing in his brain to silence itself as he turned to face you. 

If he hadn’t just taken a breath, he certainly would’ve choked on the next one. You were gorgeous up close, and he was overcome with the urge to stare. Getting himself under some semblance of control, he bowed softly and muttered a soft “good morning, how are you”. Your eyes followed his the entire time, and he realized how much shorter you were. Your neck tilted back to raise your face to his, lips just loosening a breath, before you quickly returned his bow and greeting. 

“What’s your coffee order?” Shit, did that sound weird? It certainly felt weird.

“I get a flat white!” Her smile is so cute… What the hell is a flat white?

“I can’t say I'm familiar with-”

“What can I get for you today sir?” Without even thinking, Ushijima answered the cashier. 

“Two flat whites please.”

You were clearly taken aback, but Ushijima thought your flustered reaction was so sweet. That tiny blush creeping across your nose made the initial awkwardness more than worth it. And Ushijima promised himself in that split second that he would see that blush again, somehow. 

“O-oh I didn’t say that to make you buy my coffee! Thank you so much but I-”

“It was my pleasure. I have a few extra minutes this morning if you’d like to sit with me?” Oh, if Kageyama could see him now. 

Your conversation was short because of his morning practice, but Ushijima finally got your name and your number, which was far more than he ever could have expected for your first real interaction. And as he got up to leave and say his goodbyes, he remembered the little promise he made to himself.

“I hope you’ll continue to let me do this in the mornings, have a good day” 

And that adorable blush graced his view once more as you nodded in shy agreement.

Daichi headcanons!

He has a lot of scars from his profession and just generally being stupid (he can be quite clumsy at times)

Stretch marks EVERYWHERE, I'm telling you

He can get pretty insecure about his thighs and stomach (dw his partner makes sure that doesn't happen often)

Being a police officer with a really big heart and sense of justice is HARD (I recommend kings-highway's post about this, I love their take on it), however he also wouldn't even THINK about quitting.

He has the reputation around his police station for being a softie (both negative and positive) and usually when they're dealing with people who are very torn up or emotional Daichi is the first person they like to send to diffuse the situation.

He has a really high pain tolerance!

He has the habit of furrowing his eyebrows a lot (when he's thinking, confused or just angry) so he has a wrinkle between them early in life

He's very grumpy in the mornings

His choice of drink is beers, even shitty ones

He's one of the least pickiest eaters you will ever meet, tries everything (within reason) at least once. He was the one eating his siblings' leftovers because he wouldn't want anything to go to waste.

His family has a cook book that was passed down to him from his mother's side. He likes cooking a lot, both caused by the necessity to do so to provide for his family and because he just really likes to eat (he's canonically the second biggest eater I mean??)

I don't think he'd be as oblivious as people sometimes joke about him being? I think he'd realise that Michimiya has a crush on him (and maybe that the tension he keeps having with the captains might also be them being flirty).

One scenario relating to that last one that I thought about: Kuroo flirts with him but excuses it for being competitive, he doesn't think Daichi picks up on it and acts all cool and cocky until Daichi flirts back. That man is GONE.

Also, since I'm talking about crushes and whatnot, I think Ikejiri and him had a kind-of-but-also-not-really relationship at some point (both were figuring things out, so maybe more queer-platonic?). I mean, the scenes with them are so cute I just can't

In my head that man is BI. In some iterations, I can totally see him as trans ftm as well (I just struggle with thinking about how that man went through high school already being stealth)

He is SILLY. That man has a secret mischievous side. Suga and Asahi know it, and Suga has used it multiple times to prank underclassmen and friends. Because Suga they don't trust, but if he gets the reliable captain to be on his side? Guaranteed success.

He's competitive. Even in the timeskip, I'd say. His responsible act drops pretty quickly if you make a competition out of it.

Do not challenge him to wrestle, though. That man was trained from a young age (play fighting with his siblings, they'd dogpile him when he was an older teen)

He actually stays in contact with a lot of people post-timeskip, I'd say? I mean especially his old teammates, he will forever have a soft spot for them in his heart.

Daichi's parallel to the first year's is Hinata. similarly to Sugawara's being Kageyama (I made a whole post about this), Daichi cares a lot about Hinata and is the one who bought tickets for Suga, Asahi and him for the MSBY vs Adlers match.

I know it's rather unrealistic but I often think about him living together with the captains? Not all of them but the usual combination you see of him with Kuroo, Oikawa, Ushijima and Bokuto. I could go INTO DETAIL about how wonderfully chaotic that household would be (I might one day)

He is very disciplined about staying fit/flexible, but he was not exactly blessed genetically. He gets back pains pretty early post-timeskip and asks Ennoshita for advice through his number. (He also always makes sure to check in on how his former underclassman is doing)

He can grow facial hair but usually shaves it because he doesn't really enjoy how itchy it feels. (It does look good on him though)

Suga was the one who got him off 3-in-1 shampoo, now he uses the bare minimum of products (soap, shampoo, etc.), with the addition of hair oil as it tends to get dry very easily.

Suga and Oikawa are very close friends and they both enjoy teasing Daichi whenever they can, eventually they rub off on him and he gets interested in gossip and shows they're interested in.

He's the kind of guy that says "I don't get why you watch this" but will continue to stand by the TV for half an hour to 'sneakily' watch it.

Family is very important to him. Contrary to what most people think though, to him family is not about blood and genetics but the people who are dear to you (I wonder why he came to that conclusion *ahem* his father *ahem*)

He's really protective when it comes to his siblings. If there was ever a case where they got bullied, he'd be the kind of brother that would pick them up from school to intimidate the bullies. (As cringe as it might be)

His siblings visit him but also come over when they need his help or a place to stay. He is always happy to help them.

Also, here's a very specific one: He can walk in heels. Why? His sisters used to play dress up with him (I mean the whole nine yards, makeup and hairpins and a tiara), and he ended up wearing his mothers heels.

I also had a full concept for his family's names and (kind of) meanings so I'm just going to throw this in there (since it fits with my angst post about him having an absent father):

Kōzui (dad) -> flood

Moemi (mother) -> abundant, thriving

Daichi (eldest) -> earth

Takemi (oldest sister) -> strong, beautiful

Riku (middle child, brother) -> land, shore

Mirai (youngest sister, twin) -> future

Kōji (youngest brother, twin) -> good fortune, peace

Daichi is the grounding eldest and sadly kind of the foundation of the family. Takemi was the first daughter, her mother promised her to nurture her strength but also her beauty. Riku was the shore after rough times at sea (peek at his fathers name, the parents were on a very rough patch). Mirai and Kōji gave their mother hope for the future (their father truly left them during that pregnancy).

I also made an art post (I don't like that one all too much but still it exists) about it, but I think Daichi could have a tattoo with their birth flowers if he ever thought about getting tatted.

Daichi is multilingual (from taking up interest in learning other languages and/or helping out his siblings when they study them) Here are a few fun ideas of how it plays out:

He scares the living hell out of Oikawa by suddenly speaking fluid Spanish to him (Oikawa muttered something in Spanish when he was frustrated). Oikawa later makes it a habit to say things in Spanish when he only wants Daichi to understand/hear it

Daichi kind of bonds with Nishinoya over it because he travels so much

It's great for his job, he can communicate with tourists and foreigners well (plus its extra intimidating when you're being ridiculed by a cop in your native language)

Languages: German (this one is just me wanting to add a language I speak and adore), English, Japanese (obv), Spanish, maybeee more but less fluently?

Spanish: seemed somewhat easy enough, spoken in a lot of places

German: He wanted to see if he could, since its considered very difficult to learn

English: Good for his job, broadens the horizons a ton

Aaaaanyway these are just what came together after a brainstorming session, I'm sure I'd have more but I think this is quite a lot for now lol.

I feel like once a year, Kita holds a Captain's Retreat on his rice farm. It's so everyone can relax and enjoy fresh rural air, but he does end up putting everyone to work at some point.

Aran is invited, since he was the on-court captain, but he gets to relax since he helps Kita a lot anyway in his off-season (also, he has bae rights)

Everyone (especially Suguru) makes fun of Kuroo for losing his breath easily. Bokuto isn't allowed to use sharp objects. Oikawa and Terushima get scolded by Kita for taking inappropriate selfies with corn cobs. Ushijima has a near encyclopedic knowledge about plants. Daichi and Moniwa are the only ones actually helping Kita

1. Daichi Sawamura:

Would give you a kiss on your earlobe because he found out that it makes you blush.

He'd occasionally nibble on it while cuddling.

It's his go to move because he can kiss you there and whisper how much he loves you.

Since he loves seeing you blush he'd do it at the times you least expect it.

Even after years of being together, it'll never get old for you or him.

Sometimes, when you do it back, he's gets all red like a tomato.

It brings him so much happiness when he sees you smile before leaving and coming back from work.

2. Kuroo Tetsuro:

This man lives on kissing you on the neck, and you cannot convince me otherwise.

Just little pecks throughout the day.

He'd move your hair aside gently and shower3 you with kisses.

He'd also be extremely dramatic if he doesn't kiss you for the day. "Do you not love me anymore?!" He'd whine while nuzzling his face into your neck, planting kisses.

Oh, he loves it when you do it back. He'd run his fingers through your hair and then give you a small peck on the lips.

Occasionally leaves subtle hickeys that people wouldn't notice unless they look closely.

3. Bokuto Kotaro:

He gives you pecks on the lips like its medication.

His mood 1000% depends on giving you a kiss. He HAS TO give you a kiss whenever he meets you.

Once he gives you the peck, he'd gently caress your cheek with a huge content smile on his face.

There are a lot of times where you'd give him a peck, and he'd always pull you back to give you another one.

He wins matches just so he could pull you into a passionate kiss after the match. He's always down for a celebratory make-out.

4. Oikawa Tooru:

He has a think for hands so hand kisses are for the win.

He'd intertwine his fingers with his and kiss the back of your hand.

He'd also plant kisses on your palm, fingers, or even wrists.

He prefers hand kisses because he can give it to you anywhere, and he loves to see your smile while he gives you the kiss.

He'd also treat you like loyalty by bending down and taking your hand for the kiss. He likes being dramatic that way.

When you give it back, he's even more dramatic "How DaRe YoU CoPy Me?!" He'd ask and love bomb you with kisses.

5. Ushijima Wakatoshi:

Kisses you on the cheeks because its the most practical and conveys his affection since he's not one to show off.

For a guy who doesn't show affection, he'd give you kiss like it's muscle memory.

He doesn't mind when you give it to him because he doesn't let anyone but you.

If you're on call or doing something, he'd patiently wait because he wants all your attention when he gives you a kiss.

He'd give you a kiss over the phone too if you'd ask him.

6. Kita Shinsuke:

This man gives you forehead kisses because he believes it's the purest form of love.

He doesn't care if you're sad, sick or angry, he believes a kiss on the head followed by a hug would fix anything.

When you say you want to give him a kiss, he'd hold his hair out of the way and bend down for you [sorry if you're tall :)]

He enjoys your reaction, which is his favourite part. He doesn't show it out though.

He'll religiously follow it if it means making you happy.

You’re sitting on your bed with your left hand clasped tightly around the right to hide the piece of metal sandwiched between your palms. You can feel the coin’s ridges after every shaky inhale you take, scared to see the results. 

Heads you keep talking, tails, you block him for good. 

If he was anyone else, the shitty response time, the questionable following list, and his timing of returning to your life after your glow up would have made you block him weeks ago, But he’s not anyone, he’s him.

He’s the subject of at least 5 pages in your second grade diary, he’s the guy who lit up every classroom he walked into in high school, the one who’d say a sentence to you in the morning and you’d still have a smile on your face as you go to sleep. The guy everyone wants to be around, hoping his energy would rub off on them or at least bask in the warmth he provides. 

So when he texts you after years of no contact, after his voice has dropped, your face has changed you’re now both taller, more mature of course you reply. Except what hasn’t changed is that you can still feel his warmth every time his name flashes across your screen. It doesn’t matter if he takes an hour, two or three, to reply to the messages you overthink sending him you always get giddy when he texts you back because it’s him, how could you not?

Especially when after all those months of pining in your youth, years later he reveals that he liked you too. So when he calls you pretty it holds a different weight than everyone whose said those words before, it’s him but he’s also more. He calls you pretty, and of course by now you’ve heard it a million times but to the younger you it’s the equivalence of him telling you during passing time that he didn’t know beauty until he saw your face.  It’s like note being passed forward in class from the cute boy in the back row, and you hold it close to your chest as you get on the bus. He calls you pretty, but it says so much more. 

So of course when he starts to say less, you worry. When his response time starts taking a turn for the worse you get scared. You keep checking to make sure you didn’t accidentally leave him on read, just in case, but of course, that’s not it. Three hours turns to five then six. You’re checking your phone, sliding up to make sure you didn’t miss his possible message. Doing one last glance at the sleep focus’ silenced notifications to make sure he doesn’t reply right before you got to sleep. The first thing you check in the morning is if he responded, but he didn’t. 

It’s been a day. 

Now, it’s just getting embarrassing, hell it was embarrassing after the eight hour mark and if he was any one else, you would have- you should have blocked him by now. But he’s not just anyone. 

So here you are, sitting on your bed with your left hand clasped around your right. Holding a coin that is either heads or tails. 

Heads, you wait. Tails you leave.

You said 1/1 but this is your third flip. 

This is it. 

You slowly loosen your grip, only to begin to screw your eyes shut. If you don’t see it, is it really tails? Yes. 

Though, whether it was tails or not, it always should have been. 

You toss the coin aside and reach for your phone, opening the app and heading to his contact, and just as your finger hovers over the ‘block’ button, he responds.

When he's feeling like getting something good to eat, he feels like the kids should too. This means he's gonna scan the house to see if the coast is clear before taking them with him to get that dessert.

-Daichi, the type of dad to just love carrying the kids around. Especially the little ones. He'd have them sitting on his shoulders all the time. He lets them sit on his shoulders so much that they don't even want to walk anymore and just want their Dad to carry them.

-Daichi, the type of dad to fall for the kids' little pranks. Definitely when your kids fall asleep in the car so they can get carried into the house. He'd always think about how the kids must be tired instead of how he's getting played because they were too lazy to walk out of the car.

-Daichi, the type of dad to read the kids' bedtime stories. He'd let them sit on his lap while he's reading and pointing out the book's illustrations, teaching them the plot's significance till they get sleepy.

-Daichi, the type of dad to see his kids run up to him with arms open for a hug when he gets home from the police station. He's always so happy to see his children excited to greet their Dad getting back home after a long day of work.

-Daichi, the type of dad to always show up to your children's school events and games. He's proud to be a father of your children and he will show it through his actions and how he cares for them. Daichi definitely cheers the loudest for them and always rewards them after the event with something the kids would like to eat for dinner or just a treat.

-Daichi, the type of dad to definitely introduce the kids' first sport as volleyball. He'd occasionally play with them as well if he's off of work and feels like teaching them some new tricks or helping them improve. He also talks about his high school volleyball days for sure when the kids ask him why he loves volleyball so much.

-Daichi, the type of dad to have your kids know his friends as their uncles. They favor Uncle Sugawara for sure since he'd be over at your house the most to just hang with your husband and the kids. They’d call him the cool uncle. They'd also just love Asahi and think he's the super nice uncle, sometimes Asahi would fall for their pranks if he’s babysitting them.

-Daichi, the type of dad to give up a few hours of his day to help the kids on their school projects. This even means staying up late to help them with homework as well, making sure they understand the material for their next day of school .

-Daichi, the type of dad to loves taking family photos for memory's sake. This would for sure root before you even met him. Ever since your children were born he's literally the family photographer, dad, husband, and a cop.

🦅 he doesn’t listen to a lot of music (i see him as being one of those guys at the gym who doesn’t use headphones and is dead silent and super intense, but his thoughts are just, like, tv static) but he’ll listen to a song the second you send it to him and immediately adds it to his library

🦅 he was in class 3, which means he does well academically but i don’t think school comes naturally to him so he spends a lot of time studying

🦅 his home life is fairly tense (less so than before his parents divorced, but i can see both his mother and grandmother being implicitly resentful of him) so he spends all the time he can at school or with friends. i just know he’s at tendou’s house at least 3 times a week (because we all know that place is probably cool as hell)
