Epic III from Hadestown, rewritten to be about Nyrissa from Pathfinder Kingmaker. Apparently @starlightcleric ‘s second prompt for Owlcatober is ‘fey’?
(Contains Kingmaker spoilers for book one, though I know the story from my tabletop campaign, which is only loosely based on the Owlcat game, so I’m not sure when different bits of information are revealed)
Lyrics below:
Sundered apart is the heart of the queen
Queen of wasteland, queen of shale
The heart of the queen loves all she sees
As the hammer loves the nail.
But a mortal's heart is a simple one
Flowers and skin, flesh and blood
And all that she loves is her kingdom
Her kingdom is all that she loves.
And Nyrissa is queen of thorns and of stone
She blankets the land in mist and mistrust
She razes the forests to buttress her throne
And she harries and pierces and scars all of us.
But even that long-broken heart was once mortal
Before cups, before sands
Before laughing lies and hearts of marble
She'd build her own garden
She'd use her own hands—
She'd realize the vision she held in her eyes
A land of unending flowers
Where her people could rest beneath clearer skies
Protected by her power.
Singing la, la la la, la la la...
What has become of that once-mortal heart
Now that Nyrissa's queen?
What has become of that once-mortal heart
Broken and crushed like her dream?
The more she tears, the more she reaps,
The greater the void grows that lives inside her
See how she labors, see how she weeps
No one to care and no one beside her.
And she keeps on alone
And she keeps her hand hidden
She's grown used to hurting if she wants to survive.
But what she doesn't know
Or what she's forgotten:
The Lantern King lies.
Where is the treasure inside of your chest?
Where is your pleasure?
Where is your youth?
Where is the mortal with flowers in her hands
Who stood before the King
With so much to lose?
Singing la, la la la, la la la...

Kaos on Netflix is a bit as if someone who loved Percy Jackson growing up was told they are too old to like it so they took their love for it and combined it with Succession while listening to Hadestown soundtrack and watching Romeo + Juliet by Baz Luhrmann

I heard someone say this, so we’re sharing.
Rick Riordan loves his long standing romances to mirror Grecian romance myths.
Percy and Annabeth mirror Odysseus and Penelope, how they love each other and Percy was thrown onto the island of Ogyia with Calypso. Even through the wars, he fought for her. He fought Polyphemus. He could never forget Annabeth regardless of what was thrown at him.
Nico and Will mirror Orpheus and Eurydice. They both went to the underworld. Will could never leave without his Eurydice, Nico. He traveled the Underworld and turned around on the stairs to see Nico. He used song to open the stairs of Orpheus. He proved multiple times that he would not let himself live without Nico there. He was weaker than Nico, but he would fight for him. Their love had the approval of the Gods and Hades, in specific.
Honorable mention: Silena Beauregard and Clarisse La Rue. You CANNOT tell me they weren’t in love with each other in the good luck, babe/casual/I wish you were a boy sense. anyways. Achilles and Patroclus. Clarisse who despised most except Silena. Silena who was kind-natured and sweet but still could be strong. Clarisse who was relentless, cruel, strong, and a valiant fighter. Clarisse who boycott the war. Silena who wore Clarisse’s uniform to break the boycott. Clarisse who brutally k*lled others because the one she held most close to her heart died. Clarisse who loved her best friend, Silena.

What if when Orpheus calls Hades “king of shades” he’s actually referencing Hades’s insane sunglasses collection.

has anyone gotten the idea that odysseus' storyline in hades 2 is a depiction/exploration of trauma over his SA and how he's blaming himself for things that were out of his control? because that's the impression i'm getting from what i've seen. he talks about "goddesses" as his "greatest weakness" and that "he's not one to say no to them"...
when mel invites him to the bath, he brings up mortals having different standards for intimacy than gods and how it usually has a more romantic/sexual connotation. she then asks if he's uncomfortable and he has a startled reaction and brings up circe and calypso again (but never actually by name)
(this isn't ship/romance bait btw. odysseus knew mel as a kid and they're stated in-game to have a sibling/uncle-niece relationship)
also he grew apart from penelope after his return, but the game makes a point of showing that his love for penelope and telemachus is what drove him on at all so that element of his character isn't brought into question
