ok soooooo a whole essay about NOS4a2 and why he matters to me sm as a f/o ever

k so, starting off.

what makes him special design wise?

first of all, his whole design is sharp and edgy(literally.lotta edges). each end is pointy and sharp . lotta triangles used in his design. but despite that there's something interesting about how he has a cape (something usually made out of soft fabrics) as a cover, but even so the sharpness REMAINS. something else is how he has like two different eyes, which one of them is a monocle which is slay idk lol. also something else is how he's not like- he doesnt look strong physically at first sight even tho he's trully capable of being so . also fangs; LITERAL energy vampire, it's so cool as a concept.

ok personality wise:

most of the times he's on scene, it's always this very classic "muahahaha evil" kinda deal, he's silly af. geniunely enjoying it . he keeps on making stupid unfunny jokes all the time and he laughs at his own stupid jokes lol. idk i think it's cute and sillly waaaaaaaaaaaaa

BUT! he's capabe of being TRULY TERRIFYING (like half the robotic gore in BLOSC is caused by him lol, also his plan in ROTM was dark af)

it's even more interesting cuz his motivations are simply, yes being in charge as a SECOND need. the FIRST need is mainly to feed on robots. SENTIENT ROBOTS. LIKE HE D O E S WANT TO FEEL THE THRILL OF THE KILL. HE COULD JUST DRAIN from lifeless machines, but he'd rather HUNT and play with his food, if you will.

it's just very interesting.

now, SPECIFICALLY WHY do I like Nos and why is he so important to me?

so in general i was/still am a villain apologist ok? i always loved villains, no matter how evil they were. it sortz felt really comforting. but something about Nos specifically felt very special . possibly the fact that the first episode i watched in general was Revenge of the monsters (aka the climax of his character in everyway) .so basically my first impression was based on seeing him in his best if u know what i mean . like if it was any other episode things would've gone differently but that's not the case as you see. like ROTM is like this whole bigger climax yk? say, if it was another episode there's a high chance zurg could've been my fav character but boy he literally ran like a coward in ROTM so i just didnt care much cuz he wasnt in the ep as much as NOS.

like yea in an alternate reality it could've been Zurg but NUH UH . Nos it is.

also the fact that ROTM is like, as i said, sorta sums up his whole character in a great way . so when I watch that episode i IMMEDIATLY got attached especially when my introduction to the series is this. both his ultimate downfall and like .. the top of his character arc . like, INSTANT attachement.

another thing to note is how like … the whole episodes sorta focused on his turning every Z to an N .

ok here i might start explaining things a bit too personally here but ok it's an essay . ok so the circumstances of me watching the show for the first time were…something.

see i didn't have much friends back then as a kid. even the ones i had were pretty much SO different and can't understand me cuz im that shy, weird kid who goes on info dumping about my interests it might get annoying. but nobody understood those interests except ONE friend. whom just left and idk where he is till now. another thing to add, being the weird kid sorta let people exclude me and/or bully me soooo yeah .

so my putting that into prespective with the whole Ns all over the place thing in that specific episode sort of.. made me relate ya know? feel like it's specifically an episode for me . there was something nice and comforting about it.

the fact that it's the first letter of my name (which at the time was a big deal cuz all my favs didnt specifically put that fact into like, part of the story like Nos if u get me.) like, something about a villain i KNOW has the first same letter in their name as me, being all goofy yet menacing, also a vampire of sort -i am obsessed since day one idk) just felt right.

last part of this might sound silly or stupid but like . another reason WHY i felt this connection to Nos specifically till now :

people i know irl did NOT know what blosc was.

even the few who knew, don't remember it or specifically know who Nos was when i asked them.

so it's like "damn. all this epic character being so obscure and unknown despite everything they did?…sounds like me "

so until i went online and find more blosc mutuals (and till i went to Uni where people know it somewhat and still take show suggestions seriously from me) it just felt like this one character was specificaly made for me . like, this one character nobody knows except me . cuz i'm just as unknown and as unnoticed irl .

conclusion:

and to this day that still stands . Nos is still one of the turning points in my life in general. be it in art , in social life , or in general anyways. still my favourite fictional character of all time . my Top 1 fav and my main comfort character along Antasma and Zira for similar reasons.

hii, i read your the twilight effect + your write-up afterwards. its definitely something i will be thinking about for a while. i love your twilight so much.. i do not normally read fan fiction or really much of anything at all, so im not too good at like complimenting writing and the sort.. i really loved the fluttershy chapter/trial and also found their interactions during the festival really adorable. and fluttershy + rarity on the bleachers with twilight at the beginning was also so cute. the entire epilogue was so wonderful to me, i loved seeing their relationships after the incident. theyre all so cute and best friends. i also loved the progression throughout their senior year. like idk, something about twilight having a rough hs experience but a great and friend filled senior year.. she deserves it soo much. and she had some tough moments but she overcame them.. love it. well i apologize for the rambling. i couldnt read something that wonderful and not say some words of appreciation.. essentially thank you so much for writing TTE and being willing to share it with everyone..!!!

and yes!! the epilogue ended up as long as an act by itself, but i think it was necessary for the type of story i wanted to tell ;v; bc, my own highschool experiences shaped a lot of what i wanted to express w this story, and perhaps its a little bit of a love letter to my high school self that hey, you will make it! it will be ok!! that type of feeling, it's what i wanted to convey, so im so very glad that it was able to come across

So my latest project is an e-rated oneshot based on one very special s3 still. I'm currently in the editing process with the help of the lovely W @darktwistedgenderplural and we're getting to the finishing line!

So the still that inspired the silly little story waaaaas (obviously) this one:

The title I'm most likely gonna be using is taken from a Placebo song:

And while the song in its entirety is very much not a wilmon-vibe (it's Placebo, so obviously it's kinda gloomy. but so so good. listen to it!), there are some lines that just lend themselves perfectly to a fic title (and some that are just surprisingly fitting lol):

Oh and funnily enough, an old fic of mine which had somewhat of a similar premise (there was a pool, not a lake though) started picking up traction again and come to think about it, this whole water/lake/pool thing seems to be just another one of my running themes, because I think I've written quite a few already haha. What can I say, had to put Wilmon into this classic situation as well!

as you know i had been working on a Rainbow Factory TTRPG one shot using the KOB system!!! and me and my wonderful friends finally got to play it together!!! Our lovely friend Al records all our sessions 1) so we can go back and watch to remember when we take long breaks and 2) for posterity <3 sooooo!!!!

this week's episode was a welcome return to form i think! i have my Thoughts about how the second lap has been structured, but since my wishes were granted this week and i'm back to looking forward to upcoming developments (and i don't think me going on and on abt it fits this sort of post) i won't get into it today.

ANYWAY! i really enjoyed sakito's fight with cannonborg. i think most importantly i really enjoyed that it felt like the team was working together even when the 1v1 moments are happening, which is something i think was i beginning to miss what with sakito and boonred 119's debuts being so solo / duo focused. tho it would have been nice if they had cut to the team fending off the sanseaters lol. hopefully this will continue to be the case for the future!

ANYWAY none of this matters..... genba and ishiro sharing candied apples..... waaaaa..... mad rex in the promotional poster...... yayyyyyyy i've only watched like half an episode of toqger but toqger crossover confirmed..... genba looking foreboding in the preview images..... more information about the isa..... i'm #winning. my crops are watered my garden is flourishing my hope and optimism are restored o7

Hi Clef! When you first started out drawing fanart, what were your main goals at that time and what kept you going? Did you practice art formally alongside drawing fanart or did your fanarts also serve as practice sessions? Were your practices focused like drawing hands only or just clothes only? My main goal when I first started drawing is basically to draw what I was obsessed with at the time, I started taking art seriously in middle school when I first made a short comic of my cat OC (whose design is a rip off of one of the characters in puku puku tennen kairanban manga) and showed it to my friends, they liked it and always asked me to make more.

Then in 8th grade my fondness for comic and art grew much more because my dad finally let me buy some manga at the bookstore (when I was in elementary school I had to hide this 90s shojo manga because I didn't want my parents to know I read such things), plus I shared the same interest with a close friend in middle school so I just kept making more and more comics of this series we liked, and idk, it just made me happy in some way, I got to draw my favorite characters, was able to realize this random scenario of said characters in my head, and made my friend happy on top of that.

I'm majoring in graphic design but I'm actually more interested in illustration and comic, so drawing fanart is like escapism for me because none of the subjects I took ever let me express my specific interest (I took a comic subject in the 7th semester and it was the only moment I could draw what I really wanted without the professors bashing me, I was even able to slip a Reigen cameo in one of the assignments)

And not gonna lie I think college didn't really help me much in terms of improving my drawing skill because they didn't teach us anything about the basics of illustration since the courses I was taking put more emphasis on graphic design, it DID help me hone the compositioning skill however. I guess the stress college has put me in made draw more fanart thus indirectly becoming a practice in and of itself.

And for the practice, I think you can say that, I didn't try to improve the big picture as a whole, instead it's done bits by bits, realizing mistakes once I'm able to observe things clearer and better. I remember when I was into AA I always drew the male bodies shaping like fridges and I didn't see anything wrong with it, but when I got into DGS I started to be able to see a mistake in that. I even realized the Reigen drawing above has bad a proportion even tho it seemed fine to me before.

Waaaaa!!! No joke, I've had a couple thoughts about her interacting with them for the past several days now

Silver

Locket's a hugger by nature. So by extension she's always giving out hugs to her friends (as long as they're cool with it) and most of the time, those hugs last for several seconds at a time. But when it comes to Silver, Locket often finds herself stuck in them for minutes... or rather, hours with how he falls asleep in her arms.

She's had to hold him up several times with how quickly he conks out too! Like seriously! The boy becomes literal dead weight in an instant-

In the times where he actually manages to stay awake though, they go for short horseback rides out near the stables.

Sometimes Silver helps Locket onto her horse, not because she can't climb up on her own, but because he likes it when she looks down at him with a cheeky smile.

And on the few occasions where they share the same horse, Locket's usually the one to take the reigns and leads them a little farther away from school so they can unwind for a bit with a lil picnic in the forest.

Malleus

Locket likes to invite Malleus out a lot. Like a lot a lot!

At first she only asked him out for special occasions, because she didn't think he'd be all that interested in joining her for little things she could do alone. But after spending some time with him, she slowly started asking him to join her on more casual hangouts. ((This one takes inspiration from a tiktok I saw the other day XD))

Locket also likes to cling onto Malleus's arm when exploring new places. She's not shy or anything, far from it, she just likes to know that he's still there with her and can pull him in a different direction if he's about to head somewhere he probably shouldn't.

Kind of feel like Malleus fuels Locket's ice cream addiction. Like, he offers to buy her a bowl of red velvet ice cream almost every day.

And if he's lucky enough, she'll share the ice cream before devouring it all kjsghjshghs

But if he's not lucky then he'll just get his own or hold onto a bunch napkins that he'll inevitably have to use to clean off any leftover ice cream lingering on Locket's face.

Just if someone wants to cry with me:

This beautiful series comes to teach people some concepts that sometimes is hard to explain: Acceptance, kindness and forgiveness.

Every character that runs out in this story have their own bruises, those that life made to them, and time after time, with the guide of kindness and acceptance, they find the way back to the owl house, the way back home. As wild they are on their hearts. They learn to brake the chains of their hearts. They could even forgive and accept themselves as the way they are.

Weirdos.

Have autonomy, trust on yourself, believe in yourself, accept yourself as the way you are, find what you love the most, do what you love no matter how complicated or bizarre it could be; those just are little but powerful messages the series have to share, not counting how the acceptance of being different is so good performed, like all LGTBQ+ couples!

But most important: you could be understood too.

Everything was so well fit that I really sorry that it came to an end so fast. But, just accepting it had to end somehow, I really want to say it the best good bye saying that I'm thankful for finding this series and have the chance to learn those beautiful messages it carried for me.
