I'm 13 years too late to the party, but finally listened to the Rockstar album in its entirety and have listened to nothing else in the last 48 hours
If I could get this absolute masterpiece of an album injected into my veins and lyrics tattooed on my brain, I absolutely would

Tonight's weather is so nice. I'm feeling nice and listening to songs in this rainy + cold weather is so soothing.
I'm listening to some songs like:
Heer to badi sad hai
Patakha Gudi
Haawa Haawa
Daaru Desi
I don't know why but I wanted to listen to these little bit old songs :)

While I understand you mean well, some people truly have horrible fathers. That quote touches on it in a way that's understood--for not listening, for being cold, for divorcing or not marrying their mothers--children have rights over their fathers too. Choosing a good mother-to-be, for instance. A man who marries based on his haawa alone and fails to pick a responsible, affectionate, child-loving woman has failed to upload his children's rights before they were even born.
i know, trust me im not coming from the best father-daughter relationship either. so, like, i know and i really understand too. and i agree with you; men have a lot of responsibilities over their children and their wives, but i just dont think that we should let someones absence define us - some people seem to make it into such a big thing when their dads (or moms) leave, it ends up affecting their identity and future relationships, and i dont think thats the healthy way to deal with hardships (i know that people dont always pick the best methods to get over things but we should strive to).
and while dads have many responsibilities, so do we. even if ones parent is distant or cuts one off, we should not follow their example here. Maintaining ties of kinship is an obligation to us, so if he cuts his children off then he is sinning, but we dont follow his steps in shaa Allah.
Allaah (Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections) said:
وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ الَّذِي تَسَاءَلُونَ بِهِ وَالْأَرْحَامَ
And fear Allah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). [4:1]
and i really dont mean to underestimate anyones feelings or pain, its just that ive seen a lot of people get in a really bad place cause of their parent(s) leaving, which is one reason why im trying to make people realize that they shouldnt attach their whole self into a human being. we should remember that we are created to worship Allah, and we do not lower ourselves or transgress others rights just because they do; we strive to do the right thing for Allah’s sake.
may He reward everyone who sticks to righteousness even after theyve been wronged, and may He soften the hearts of both parents and children.
