Played three 40k games and one Kill Team game this weekend. Two 1000 points yesterday with my Nids vs Space Wolves and then CSM. Won the first game against Space Wolves (and reduced them to two Terminators) but got munched in the second one by CSM.
Today's game was 2000 points of my Salamanders vs CSM, which I won on points. Highlight was my opponent's Vindicator exploding and then causing their (already damaged) Rhino to explode, which then killed their Chaos Lord. Later my exploding Repulsor killed Haarken Worldclaimer. The shot of the lined up units is everything that died in that game.
And then Kill Team was a draw. Highlight of that was charging my opponent's Grenadier with a Kroot Hound, completely failing my rolls and getting horribly injured, and then doing the exact same thing the next activation with my Kroot Stalker, with the same effect. Don't mind everything going wrong as long as it's amusing.

And just like that, Haarken "Dirty Harry" Worldclaimer swoops in to claim 2025 for his boss as the first finished mini of the year.
Although there are some rumors that this is not the real one but a dedicated Alpha Legion devotee with a thing for cosplay...

I made a grave error this week. With the Sanguinala deadline looming and my attention span already terrible, I tried out one of the WH40k phone games. Did you know that when you take a terrible dopamine drip pastime and weld it to your existing hyperfixation, you can just lose days like it's your job? Yeah.
There's not a lot of story, mostly collecting gubbinz and sticking them on your characters to make them do more numbers, but I've still caught a couple of interesting moments. Like. Most factions have a couple of lore characters for the "legendary" and "epic" slots, and then some generic ones to round out the team. They're generally people one would expect (eg., Tigurius and Calgar for Ultramarines - plus Titus now as an event character - Maugen Ra and Jain Zar for eldar, Typhus and Nauseous Rotbone (afaict the only chaos healer) for Death Guard, etc) but in the Black Legion we get Abaddon, Haarken Worldclaimer... and Volk. The first Obliterator. Who I think we had only seen during the Heresy? A thousand years before the Black Legion formed? I would love this to be evidence that he lived, tbh.
Also one of the generic World Eater units is a Jakhal, and I got him early, so he's on my too-small Chaos team with terminators from the Black Legion and the Death Guard and you know what I will ship anything and possibly that's my superpower. I just picture him following these ancient, legendary tanks around the battlefield and really, really, really wanting to kill enough guys to get them to nod at him in approval.
ALSO the first faction you fight/second faction you start collecting is the Necrons, and I got as far as meeting "Imospekh" and was like, what the fuck kind of bootleg tomb world is this. Great designs, though. The hexmark destroyer and canoptek spyder are just fun to look at on the character screen.
Anyway I have made terrible choices and had better get back to the exchange fic mines.

Thank you SM2 for making me buy: 3 packs of Nemesis Claw Night Lords, Sevatar, Haarken Worldclaimer (thanks 10th ed for letting me finally field him as a Night Lord), Master of Executions, 10 Cataphractii Terminators, a Land Raider, a Raptor Squad and a Chainglaive Upgrade kit.
My wallet fuckin HATES me.
I mean the only mini’s I want are a techmarine terminator (Eklius when he was a live, painted as such) and a standard MK VII firstborn. (Painted as Darius)
But I can’t paint minis. My hands shake. (Wonder why)

Haarken Worldclaimer, Herald of the Apocalypse
The original version is boring as bat shit, I’ll still make him that spear. This is what I’ve done so far.
He will be a good look for the Night Hags

Faction de personnage de niveau S Roswitha Adepta Soronitas Celestine Adepta Soronitas Aleph-Null Necrons Re'vas Tau Empire Ulf Space Wolves Yazaghor Thousand Sons Archimatos Black Legion Maugan Ra Aeldari Marneus Calgar Ultramarines Commissar Yarrick Astra Militarum Castellan Creed Astra Militarum A Tier Character Faction Sibyll Devine Astra Militarum Thaddeus Noble Astra Militarum Calandis Aeldari Aethana Aeldari Jain Zar Aeldari Brother Jaeger Black Templars High Marshal Helbrecht Black Templars Volk Black Legion Toth Thousand Sons Abraxas Thousand Sons Empire Aun'Shi Tau Empire Sho'syl Tau Bellator Ultramarines Arjac Space Wolves Morvenn Vahl Adepta Soronitas Vindicta Adepta Soronitas Typhus Death Guard Snotflogga Orks B Tier Character Faction Varro Tigurius Ultramarines Certus Ultramarines Sarquael Dark Angels Sword Brother Godswyl Black Templars Brother Burchard Black Templars Ancient Thoread Black Templars Haarken Worldclaimer Black Legion Angrax Black Legion Abaddon The Despoiler Black Legion Tjark Space Wolves Boss Gulgortz Orks Azrael Dark Angels Eldryon Aeldari Nécrons Imospekh Nécrons Anuphet Nécrons Makhotep Nécrons Thoutmosis C Tier Character Faction Isabella Adepta Soronitas Incisus Ultramarines Shadowsun Tau Empire Darkstrider Tau Empire Kut Skoden Astra Militarum Pestillian Death Guard Nauseous Rotbone Death Guard Corrodius Death Guard Maladus Death Guard Tanksmasha Orks Snappawrecka Orks Gibbascrapz Orks 2 Guide de relance Warhammer 40k Tacticus Naturellement, chaque fois que vous mettez la main sur un nouveau jeu, vous voulez commencer dans les meilleures conditions possibles.
A little work in progress. I just love the idea of characters especially evil ones in repose. You could say this on was a little inspired by @a-40k-author talking about bakeries in the realm of chaos.
So here’s the Haarken Worldclaimer at a little shrine pondering the magnitude of the task the Warmaster has given him. Eighty days is doable for a world but a world like Vigilus... that’s another matter all together.

Timeline of the 42nd Millennium: 001-025.M42
The Vigilus Campaign part 12
The new enemy to threaten Vigilus was first seen in the form of strange Vox emissions and ghosts. The Great Rift above Vigilus seemed to blacken. Psykers reported that the Emperor's Tarot was reporting the same card every reading, that of the Daemonblade crossed with the Herald of Darkness and the Knight of the Abyss. Reports of abductions and bizarre monsters in the upper spires became abundant. Those sent to investigate the latter claim were never seen again. Only the Tzeentchian Chaos Cultists recognized these signs for what it truly was: that a Chaos invasion was imminent.
By this point the Vigilus Senate had grown alarmed by the increasing activity of aerial creatures in the highest spires of Vigilus. Inquisitor Frenza of the Ordo Malleus translated the mumbling of comatose Imperial Psykers confirmed that they spoke in the black tongue of Chaos, pronouncing the arrival of a Dark King. It soon became clear to Calgar that Chaos was emerging above Vigilus itself. Soon enough the foes above Vigilus were identified as Chaos Raptors, Heldrakes, and Warp Talons scouting ahead of their main force. The leader of this blasphemous army was none other than Haarken Worldclaimer, known as the Herald of the Apocalypse. Worldclaimer announced his arrival by broadcasting his daemon-linked box network across the entire planet, reaching the minds of every living soul on Vigilus. He proclaimed that Vigilus now belonged to Abaddon the Despoiler and he would soon be there to claim it in person. As Calgar gathered an emergency meeting of the Vigilus Senate to confront this new threat, a massive Heldrake crashed through the Senate spire's glass ceiling. Calgar was saved by his Victrix Guard.
Far to the south, Thousand Sons Rubicae squads were discovered among the ruins of Kaelac's Bane, infiltrating the Oteck Hivesprawl's force-field during a routine shutdown to cause havoc inside the Imperial lines. Under Lord Commissar Barthold Dorst led an armored assault to try and repel the Rubicae, but were unable to deal with their warpfire weaponry. Meanwhile at Mortwald, a new Gellerpox Outbreak erupted and the elites of of the Hivesprawl shut themselves inside their spires with all the food and water they could find. Abandoned and without food or drink, the workers of Mortwald slowly died over the ensuing months. The Chaos and Genestealer forces took advantage of this act, spurring the desperate workers into uprisings against Imperial authority. Amid all this, the vox traffic of Vigilus was overwhelmed by the cries and suffering of atrocities that were yet to pass but would soon be upon them. Haarken has claimed that he will conquer the planet in 80 days. And the worst has yet to come,[3d] as soon word that Abaddon the Despoiler himself was also inbound to Vigilus at the head of a massive Chaos armada.

we all love the herald of the Black Legion, Haarken Worldclaimer
(power claw and power spear, hell of a combo)
At the rate things are going, there’s going to be a Codex worth of named Black Legionnaires before Abaddon gets his inevitable update.
