Ten huffed at that, a hand stirring a pot of soup while another tried to magically brew some tea. It had been centuries since she'd last used the spell- and even then, it had been for a dying man. He'd had no room to complain...and considering he'd been scared stiff, it made sense he hadn't bothered to tell her he didn't like it. But now, Hope's life was on the line. So- Ten was caught between forming the proper rune with her Chaos Energy, stirring a pot of chicken noodle soup (that was what mortals ate when sick, right?)- and typing rapidly away on Hope's laptop which she'd stolen. She was multitasking to the extreme- tail flicking nervously.

What if her roommate died?

"I am not being dramatic!" There it was- Ten yelped as the tea spewed forth from the rune...and all over the floor. Her tail swished, growing more agitated. She reached for a cloth, dropping it to the floor and mopping up the magically-conceived concoction, even as the scent of peppermint filled the apartment. "M----many people die of sickness every year! And I am not risking the first roommate I've ever had getting killed off by something too small to even see!"

Why was she so worked up?--- It didn't matter. Hope's survival was all that mattered.

"---Now tell me, what do you usually do when you're sick, aside from the soup and whatnot? You're laying down, right?" Her head spun to check on the hedgehog.

Tenebrosity hummed, content. Darkness underneath a shell... Her head turned towards Hope, a faint (albeit playful) smirk for a moment crossing her face.

"If you're sure." Perhaps Hope was aware of the cat's inner darkness...? That would seem to be the most likely case, given the hedgehog's reaction. But, Ten could keep a secret. Her talons gently pet the cat's side one more time, a low rumble sliding in her own throat before she pulled her hand away. Maybe she would pet the not-feline a bit more later, but... For now, she did have a goal.

"A gift, huh?" She mused. "...I don't know that I could get anything too worthwhile..." Ten wasn't willing to kill anyone so she could offer a heart or a soul as a gift.- Which severely limited her options. "...maybe a few thousand rings?..." Her voice was quiet, a talon tapping at her chin in thought.

The deity's face lit up at Hope's words, her tail wagging back and forth at the compliment.

"Oh!- I'll make sure to keep that in mind, then." She'd also have to get something for Hope, at some point. Fae were doing so much for her- it would be a crime not to. "For now... I guess a few thousand rings would be best, since I can't get any other gifts right now... Beyond that... I guess I'll have to find someone who has a home, and try to make a good impression?" Most mobians had homes- so it shouldn't be too hard... But Ten figured she'd still have to ask around. "Or this 'landlord' you spoke of...what kind of gifts are good for a landlord?"

The cat let out something of a rumble, not quite a purr, as Ten ran her claws over the feline. An average individual would feel fur with skin underneath but Ten would no doubt be able to tell that Mayo's body was liken to a water balloon with thick skin and was actually full of darkness.

"Eh, I'm good," Hope laughed. There was something sharp about her laugh. "Some things are better left unknown, ya know?" "Hm, well, giving your potential landlord a gift could make them more willing to give you a chance," Hope mused. "I think you did a pretty good impression on me! If I had a house to give, I'd certainly be more inclined." Hope made the decision to not mention it was because Ten had seemed like a lost puppy wandering the streets. Hope figured it wouldn't be helpful.

"I was honestly thinking more like 'teeth around the trunk', but- teeth leaves also sound pretty funny to witness." Shit- Hope had said 'cool', not- "--not that! They wouldn't be cool, obviously- but..." Ten's hands had raised- a pair trying to wave through the air as if to assuage her friend. Even though it was something incredibly slight, she could still feel her tail-puff puffing up even further at the thought that Hope would take it the wrong way.

She took another bite of her sandwich- over halfway through, but going slower than Hope. Her eyes left the hedgehog, hitting the floor as she tried to come up with a way to backpedal.

"...would the apples bite people who tried to eat their cores...?" The seeds obviously wouldn't be poisonous, not anymore- but the seeds would have to have some means of defense, right?

A new customer walked into the Subway, the bell overhead dinging as they stepped in- only to blink, eyes snapping to Hope and Ten as they caught wind of the incredibly strange conversation. The Subway employees were trying not to snicker- finally, a moment of levity after weeks of suffering.

Hope tilted her head, following Tenebrosity helplessly down the rabbit hole of teeth on unnaturally teethy objects. "Maybe the teeth would replace the seeds? So the trees grow from the teeth. Or maybe the teeth are holding the seeds," Hope proposed the most ridiculous thing to ever be stated. "Bone leaves would look really cool, can you imagine?" Hope took another bite of her sandwich, finishing it. Fae took a second to lick the mayo off her fingers, leaning back. "I'm thinking an orchid of bone trees, growing apples that have apple teeth in their center and it is beautiful," Hope said. "The french might be onto something with that one. Just this once."

Tsumugi is SO huffy about it, trying to drag the ai back as Junko is like "google can an ai get a restraining order"
