IS~R A~EL 🇳🇬🇳🇿 ADÉSÀNYÀ !!!
By the end of the year, with a win in his rumored upcoming fight vs Dricus de Plessis, Izzy will make history and officially be on his way to becoming the greatest Middleweight of All Time.
with the Dricus win he'll have:
🏅 12 title fights
🏅 11 PPV headliners
🏅 9 title fight wins
🏅 8+ fight bonuses
🏅 5 title defenses
🏅👊🏾 Most Knockdowns in UFC Middleweight History
🏆🏆🏆 3x Undisputed Middleweight Champion
Tumblr media
he is on the verge of Middleweight GOAT status. once he beats Dricus, if he can win the Strickland rematch then turn around and beat the winner of Whittaker vs Chimaev, he'll have tied Silva in title wins at 11. couple that with his résumé, his strength of schedule, his activity, the fact that he did what Silva couldn't by recapturing the title twice, and all of the hype storylines behind a lot of his fights; he could be looking at a pretty strong case for having surpassed Anderson.

Legends of the humanoids
Reptilian humanoids (4)
Five Dragon Kings – the Five Coloured Dragons with Directions in ancient Chinese belief
Historically there arose a cult of the Five Dragon Kings in Chinese legend based on Wuxing (5 elements, Nature Philosophy on Taoist cosmology). The name Wufang longwang ( "Dragon Kings of the Five Regions/Directions") is registered in Taoist scripture from the Tang dynasty, found in the Dunhuang caves, also be known as the Magao caves.
Incorporating elements of traditional Chinese beliefs, the Five Elements, it associates the Five Dragon Kings and the five coloured dragons with the five directions. In the east, there is the Blue Dragon God King, who has 49 Dragon Kings under his command, who control 70 myriad myllion small dragons, mountain spirits and sundry charms. The document states that it is the work of the small dragons and spirits under the control of the Dragon King that cause poison and disease to people, and that they should pray to the Dragon King who oversees them for healing. The Red Dragon God King is located in the south, the White Dragon God, the White Dragon God King in the west, the Black Dragon God King in the north and the Yellow Dragon God King in the centre, each with a considerable number of Dragon Kings, countless small dragons and charmed demons.
The Azure Dragon or Blue-Green Dragon (Qīnglóng), or Green Dragon (Cānglóng), is the Dragon God of the east, and of the essence of spring. The Red Dragon (Chìlóng or Zhūlóng, literally "Cinnabar Dragon", "Vermilion Dragon") is the Dragon God of the south and of the essence of summer. The White Dragon (Báilóng) is the Dragon God of the west and the essence of autumn. The Yellow Dragon (Huánglóng) is the Dragon God of the center, associated with late summer. The Black Dragon (Hēilóng), also called "Dark Dragon" or "Mysterious Dragon" (Xuánlóng), is the Dragon God of the north and the essence of winter.

Amazing! Jieli also calls Shangque 臭黑龙, chòu hēilóng, “smelly black dragon,” at times. It confused me at first, since it sounds so close to 蠢黑龙.
Also idk if this is within the scope of the post, but I think it’s funny that XLH starts out thinking DFQC is a 罪仙, zuì xiān, or fairy criminal, though the subs translate it as something different.
a guide to people’s names, titles, and other forms of address in cang lan jue/love between fairy and devil
so for chinese media, i like knowing how to read and pronounce the characters’ names, but when trying to look up the names of the clj/lbfad people, i found the info i wanted rather hard to find. i wanted to know what characters made up their names! how to pronounce them! what their different titles and nicknames meant and what kind of people address them by those names! so i decided to try compiling this info myself, on a whim. it’s taken a HOT minute, and a Lot of scrubbing through the episodes, and it will probably need to be updated and edited as i go about rewatching the show (and improving my chinese :’) aha) but here’s what i got for now! feel free to message me if you have suggestions, edits, corrections, or requests :) hopefully some people find this helpful or interesting – i know some of the things i’ve included here are lost in translation in netflix’s english subtitles.

“Hēilóng- Lóngs that possess shelled bodies and dark shades of colors as their primary pigment. They are known to harness various powers of the sea and darkness, and are known to be called ‘Black Lóngs of Water.’“ - Excerpt from an Eleturn dossier
“Values: Honesty and Respect- Zhí Míng holds honesty and respect in the highest regards. He does not believe anyone does anything out of sole goodness in the heart, for people are always selfish to some degree. However, acknowledging this and yet still being compassionate is what holds this god’s attention.” - Excerpt from a dossier on the deities of Eleturn
“Diet: Omnivore- Although Zhí Míng can eat anything edible and then some, they prefer salty foods, especially shellfish and ham. Sometimes they will eat aquatic plants.“ - Excerpt from a dossier on the deities of Eleturn

The poor thing was in our nets as we were bringing it into the nearby village, but Phoebus was able to save it before it suffocated too long and we kept it in a pot! It took us about maybe a couple days before we recalled where we caught it by mistake and we returned it into the bay by the end of the week. Ulan called it her little 'Bituon nga Bitin'."

since i’m gonna be uh. using lo.ulan as the biggest cultural influence for valla...... I hereby declare that Corrin’s original name was Hei! (written as 黑, (derived from 黑龍 Hēilóng/玄龍 Xuánlóng))
It was only changed to ‘Corrin’ when they were taken to Nohr (specifically after their memories were removed so they wouldn’t question abt having a name vastly different from all the nohrians), so uhh !!

“Have you heard of Heilong, Paris’ local hero?”
Been meaning to do a turtlnette fic a while, and I'm happy to say I finally have a possible idea, and for sure wanted to play around with a possible design.
more of her full body below, as well as meaning behind the name.
Tumblr media
Heilong (Hēilóng) translates to black dragon in Chinese, the name was largely inspired by Bixi, one of the 9 dragon songs who is a Chinese dragon with a turtle shell, the mythical beast dragon turtle (Lóngguī), and the black tortoise, one of the Four Symbols of China.

(the fifth and slightly disconnected one)
The Yellow Dragon (黃龍 Huánglóng) does not have a precise body of water of which he is the patron. However, as the zoomorphic incarnation of the Yellow Emperor, he represents the source of the myriad things.

Corrin and Azura have gone through a number of different names, particularly due to the fact they have both lived for a time in Valla, Hoshido and Nohr.
In their earlier years in Valla, Corrin was often referred to as ‘Ormslíki’ (dragon shape, form), due to their powerful dragon form and heritage, they were also sometimes referred to as ‘Fáfnir’ (a son of Hreidmar who turns himself into a dragon). Azura was referred to as either ‘Ormslíki’, (usually if Corrin wasn’t involved, to avoid confusion), ‘Ausa’ (flow, (mid.) stream; pour; sprinkle; ladle; water) or ‘Vatna’ (’covered with water’) due to her affinity to water.
When Mikoto fled Valla to Hoshido, Corrin was given a proper (and consistent) name: Hei (written as 黑, derived from 黑龍 Hēilóng/玄龍 Xuánlóng), in order to not cause confusion or bring up unwanted questions about their origins. In timelines where Corrin is not kidnapped and taken to Nohr, they will keep referring to themselves as Hei, as they didn’t have a reason to stop.
If they are kidnapped to Nohr, however, they will still usually only respond to Hei, but only until the... incident when Silas tried to help them escape happens and their memories are removed forcefully. After they are left with no memories of their past names, Garon names them ‘Corrin’. Somewhat of an ironic name, as it was derived from the highlands’ word for ‘spear’ as well as Quirinus: an ancient Nohrian (in rl it’s Sabine in origin) God of War. (Perhaps due to the fact Garon was planning to utilise Corrin to win the war in Nohr’s favour... so I guess you could say they were intended to be a.... spearhead. (... no one? really? aw)).
Likewise, when Arête fled Valla to Nohr, Azura was given her name. The name itself sounded similar to ‘Ausa’ of her previous titles, and was derived from ‘azure’, a Nohrian word for a colour quite similar to her own shade of hair. When Azura was taken to Hoshido, she mainly retained this name as she had no reason to stop using it, but sometimes the Hoshidans called her ‘Aqua’ for simplicity. She doesn’t mind either way.
Since Azura was unaware that Corrin had underwent a complete memory wipe, she had initially called them Ormslíki out of habit, and called herself Ausa. It took a little bit for her to adapt to calling them ‘Corrin’. In a similar fashion, Mikoto instinctively called Corrin ‘Hei’ (or Ormslíki when they weren’t around any Hoshidans).
