I am normal about the coati-and-lucuma-tree scene. I am so normal about the coati-and-lucuma-tree scene. I am definitely not thinking about The Implications or how wild it is that people cite that scene as evidence of Gus being completely cruel/uncaring when he was Seven Years Old at the time

#people talk about it like he tortured the coati really he just trapped it (causing it to break its leg)#then kept it alive instead of putting it out of its misery #and like he had so little control over anything (especially as a 7yo)#of course he retaliated against the coati stealing fruit from his familys lucuma tree #it may seem unproportional but his family went hungry before he cared for that tree and at 7years old he got that tree to fruit again #it fed him and his family they sold the fruit for money Of Course when something jeopardizes that hes gonna react (again he was SEVEN)#he couldnt leave systemic inequality to suffer but he Could leave the coati to suffer #i could write a whole essay but i have to go to class #guys pls talk to me about gus im obsessed with him #🧪💎
