My head is exploding right now, Suletta still instinctively trusts Miorine.

Like yes, Eri/Aerial are what make Suletta realize that it’s Prospera behind everything, but she doesn’t even, for one second, entertain the idea that Miorine is responsible for what’s going on on Earth.

Chuchu is verbally questioning what Miorine is doing but not Suletta. The news is making it looks like it’s all Mio’s fault, but Suletta is putting the pieces together and even though Suletta was just hurt by Miorine, Suletta knows Miorine would never willingly start conflict. She might, in the back of her mind, be thinking ‘maybe Miorine also was doing all she could do, even if it wasn’t the best way.’

going from binging episodes of G Gundam to watching the newest episode of Witch from Mercury gave me about this much mental whiplash

Episode 12 was. A shock. To say the least

You heard of Suletta Forgetta? Now get ready for-

Miorine’s reaction here feels so gut-wrenching here before her full face is revealed a few moments later.

The shadows around her face that only serve to highlight how shaken she is, how much turmoil she’s experiencing

The camera shaking a bit to showcase how the world as Miorine knows has been rocked to it’s foundation

How her eye and pupil are just barely visible but are clearly twitching as she beholds what she can’t look away from, the shadows and shading under her eyes akin to bags

Her mouth opening and closing (shadows also on the sides of her lips, making it feel more present), breath shaking as she tries to form words

And what makes this is that it’s allowed time to breath.

You can feel that Miorine is trying to gather her words, despite the horrific scene before her, and it makes it all the more impactful when she finally speaks.

So I got a Witch From Mercury theory,

Prospera taught Suletta her motto "Run you gain one, Move forward you gain two"

Suletta was four years after the prologue episode, in which Ericht uses Gundam Lfrith and has the telltale lights across her face indicating a Permet Link.

We know that Gundam usage puts some kind of toll on the human body, causing it to burn out and eventually die. Most users we have seen have been at least late teenagers. Ericht was a very young child.

We do not know how Suletta was conceived (traditional in vitro fertilisation, cloning, another father entirely), and we do not know what lead to Ericht being physically made into part of Gundam Aerial.

My hypothesis is this: Ericht's health began to decline over the four years between prologue and Suletta's birth, either from the one usage of the Lfrith or repeated testing of her ability to link with Permet. Prospera saw putting her into Aerial as a way to save her, and ensure she lived on in some way. She then produced Suletta, who made for a viable test pilot for her sister.

If she had simply fled, Prospera could have saved Ericht or Suletta, but proceeding with her plans, she can save both of them in her own way.
