I'm really glad Ōkouchi avoided the ambiguous ending trope of "Wellllllll they might be together, we'll leave it up to your imagination. 🙂" that a lot of series with gay/lesbian subtext tend to fall prey to. Given how inconsistent the show has historically been about the characters' relative scales, I have to imagine that the hand-holding shot involved someone looming over the animators' shoulder like it's very important that you clearly emphasise how much larger Suletta's hands are than Miorine's; this is essential for reasons.
