NASA Names Finalists of the Power to Explore Challenge - NASA

NASA has selected the nine finalists of the Power to Explore Challenge, a national competition for K-12 students featuring the enabling power of radioisotopes.

NASA selected nine finalists out of the 45 semifinalist student essays in the Power to Explore Challenge, a national competition for K-12 students featuring the enabling power of radioisotopes. Contestants were challenged to explore how NASA has powered some of its most famous science missions and to dream up how their personal “super power” would energize their success on their own radioisotope-powered science mission.

The competition asked students to learn about NASA’s Radioisotope Power Systems (RPS), a type of “nuclear battery” that the agency uses to explore some of the most extreme destinations in our solar system and beyond. As cities across the United States experience a total solar eclipse, we experience first hand a momentary glimpse into what life would be like without sunlight. This draws attention to how NASA can power missions at destinations that cannot rely on the energy of the Sun, such as deep craters on the Moon and deep space exploration. In 250 words or less, students wrote about a mission of their own enabled by these space power systems and described their own power to achieve their mission goals.

The Power to Explore Challenge offered students the opportunity to learn more about these reliable power systems, celebrate their own strengths, and interact with NASA’s diverse workforce. This year’s contest received 1,787 submitted entries from 48 states and Puerto Rico.

“The RPS Program is so impressed by the ideas and quality of writing that come forth from essays submitted to NASA’s Power to Explore Challenge,” said Carl Sandifer, NASA’s manager for the Radioisotope Power Systems Program in Cleveland. “We would like to congratulate the finalists, and we look forward to welcoming the winners to NASA’s Glenn Research Center this summer.”

Entries were split into three categories: grades K-4, 5-8, and 9-12. Every student who submitted an entry received a digital certificate and an invitation to the Power Up virtual event that announced the semifinalists. Students learned about what powers the NASA workforce to dream big and work together to explore.

Three national finalists in each grade category (nine finalists total) have been selected. In addition to receiving a NASA RPS prize pack, these participants will be invited to an exclusive virtual meeting with a NASA engineer or scientist to talk about their missions and have their space exploration questions answered. Winners will be announced on April 17.

Of course, Guilford recalled that war. It 2as the first combat he had followed Cornelia into, and where he got his title The Spearhead of the Empire. More importantly it was also when he was knighted to his Princess's side.

Hearing Julius's confession conflicted the knight. He was angry and annoyed that someone had the audacity to threaten a member of the royal family. But they had one the war for king and country.

His anger won that argument though. "Your Highness" his said still in control of his emotions. "He had no right to treat you like that and you have nothing to be ashamed of. "

Guilford took a knee so he could look up at the young prince. "I know you may be anxious or nervous about what happen but take it from me. You deserve much more than what you received. And I swear on my knighthood your secret is safe with me."

⚔Guilty Pleasure⚔ -open starter-

Guilford knew it was a dirty habit but sometimes he just needed a quick break. A small escape. And while he would prefer the satisfying burn of alcohol drinking on duty was out of the question.

A quick cigarette didn’t cloud his judgment and would not alter him in any way. Except ease the tension headache that was building up.

Of course this was his little secret, his guilty pleasure that he believed he kept well hidden. He would slip behind buildings, go to the far side of hangers, or engine rooms. Places he could be seen. Once he was done he would pop a quick mint and a small spray of cologne. He thought he was clever.

Normally he one allowed himself a quick break now more then 2 minutes and then back to Cornelia’s side. But tonight he was already on his second cigarette. Today had worn on his nerves with meetings this, paper work that.

So once he bid good night to his princess he snuck out the back of the embassy. While technically not on duty, tonight was not a drinking night. So a few smokes would have to do. He let his mind wonder as he looked up.

Of course, if he had stayed sharp he might of heard the approaching footsteps.

Mobil Rolls Royce Phantom Ghost Series 1 AT keluaran tahun 2011 seharga Rp 2,5 miliaran milik Raffi Ahmad sempat beberapa kali trending di youtube Mei 2020 lalu. Kendaraan bermesin 6.600 cc, dengan sistem transmisi otomatis 8 percepatan ini viral tak lain karena pajak tahunannya Rp.65 juta per tahun. Terlepas hal itu, sebenarnya sejauh mana Raffi Ahmad tahu tentang kendaraan miliknya? Apakah dia mengenal sosok Charles Stewart Rolls, sang pendiri Rolls Royce?

Charles Stewart Rolls tidak hanya pendiri dari Rolls-Royce, ia juga pelopor dalam dunia penerbangan..Tepat hari ini Rolls-Royce merayakan peringatan 110 tahun double-crossingtanpa henti pertama di Dunia Charles Stewart Rolls di Selat Inggris dengan pesawat. Penerbangan ini menjadi pencapaian aeronautika besar terakhir Rolls, datang hanya sebulan sebelum kematiannya yang tragis pada usia 32 tahun. 

Pesawatnya, dibangun dari kayu dan kain yang diperkuat dengan spar dan kabel, memiliki lebar sayap hanya 12 meter dan beratnya hanya 457 kg termasuk .Alat untuk keselamatan termasuk baju pelampung untuk dirinya sendiri, dan empat tas apung besar diisi dengan tekanan udara yang diikat ke bagian bawah mesin.

Lahir pada tahun 1877, Rolls telah terpesona oleh mesin sejak masa sekolahnya - ia melanjutkan untuk mendapatkan gelar di bidang Mekanik & Sains dari Trinity College, Cambridge ¬ dan terpikat dengan terbang dari awal. Dia adalah anggota pendiri Royal Aero Club, sebagai baloonis, membuat lebih dari 170 penerbangan dan memenangkan Medali Emas Gordon Bennett pada tahun 1903 untuk waktu yang lama dan paling lama.

NASA selected 45 student essays as semifinalists of its 2024 Power to Explore Challenge, a national competition for K-12 students featuring the enabling power of radioisotopes. Contestants were challenged to explore how NASA has powered some of its most famous science missions and to dream up how their personal “superpower” would energize their success on their own radioisotope-powered science mission. The competition asked students to learn about Radioisotope Power Systems (RPS), “nuclear batteries” that NASA uses to explore the harshest, darkest, and dustiest parts of our solar system. RPS have enabled many spacecraft to conduct otherwise impossible missions in total darkness.

In 250 words or less, students wrote about a mission of their own that would use these space power systems and described their own power to achieve their mission goals. The challenges of space exploration without solar power are especially relevant ahead of the United States’ upcoming April 8 total solar eclipse, which will offer a momentary glimpse into what life would be like without sunlight.

Fifteen national semifinalists in each grade category (45 semifinalists total) have been selected. These participants also will receive a NASA RPS prize pack. Finalists for this challenge will be announced on April 8 in celebration of the total solar eclipse.

Hiatus Update

I am SLOWLY getting back into Rping

For those of you who do not know. In July 2020 my husband and I lost our son. There were complications while I was in labor. The last 2 years have been alot of up and downs.

I am starting to feel like me again.

Slowly I plan to get more of my muses active.

I get over whelmed easily now (even though I try really hard not to) so of we start an RP I'm sorry if I don't respond right away.

When I feel more comfortable I will update this.

Many of you may not know this but currently I am 38 weeks pregnant. Im just about due and will be taking maternity leave for 12 weeks.

So for 12 weeks I won't have anything to do except for carr for the baby. Yes, I know how time consuming that will be with two hour eat schedule, diapers, crying, needing me, ect. But there will be some down time for me, and because of the Rona I won't even be able to leave my home.

Soooooo....

I want to slip back into RP so I dont go crazy. Just away t o step out of my world. This goes for all of my muses.

Guilford was drunk...very drunk. He had to be because no sober person would be doing what he was doing right now.

No sober person would break into another person's sleeping quarters just to see if they could poke said person in the cheek without them waking up.

And that is exactly what he was doing now, his glasses slightly askew and his pony tail holder missing.

Slowly he approached the sleeping form. At least he hoped the target was sleeping. And slowly he reached over them, his finger poking a soft cheek.
