Hello and welcome! This is an online bookclub dedicated to reading through the Trigun manga series (which is Trigun, followed by Trigun Maximum). This time around, we'll be reading one omnibus volume about every month to celebrate the Dark Horse deluxe editions releasing! You don't have to read that version, @trigun-manga-overhaul is a fantastic fan translation project, and a great alternative! (Though please, if you can, support Nightow and the official releases!) All official images used in promotion of this event are from Overhaul.

Nightow’s artwork is beautiful, but sometimes readers find the action/dialogue a bit hard to follow. Feel free to ask for help deciphering things!

While the manga is a brilliant story, it covers very dark themes. They are spoilers, but if you trigger warnings, there is a Does the Dog Die page for the manga. There’s also a chapter-by-chapter TW list on Tumblr.

If you fall behind or come in late, no worries! Feel free to hop in at your leisure, just know the main tag will have spoilers for the current volume.

Supporting Dark Horse and Nightow is highly encouraged, but if you're looking for a place to read because you don't have a deluxe edition/want to read online with a different translation, check out @trigun-manga-overhaul!

(it's 3 am- that's why the doodles are crap)

I had this idea kinda pop into my head and I can't sleep until I ramble about it for a little bit.

The idea kinda is to spark a chain between a bunch of au's. Like a collab thing but like- you don't really need to talk with anyone else to get it set up really. (wait, that's just an event) Maybe this would be an event, yeah.

It'd maybe be a story of Nine a bit after Sonic Prime trying to find a universe fit for him to live peacefully in. Maybe even find the Sonic that's right for him (he probably never will). So he'd bounce from Sonic AU to Sonic AU, learning a bit about it but ultimately leaving it as he views it isn't fit for him.

You could throw your headcanons in for Nine too- claim that it's the unknown energy of the universes that has changed his memory and appearance. But he knows his goal: find a universe that's just right, but it seems like it'll never come to be. It frustrates him, but he secretly doesn't mind that much because he actually likes to travel the different universes and see what's strange about it.

Maybe I could make it an actual event, even with a hashtag and such, but that's only if enough people might be interested in it (and when it isn't 3 am brain talking)

So I've asked this question to someone else too, but some people always be like: oh gods won't respond back when you're just worshipping (you can't communicate with them) only if you're WORKshipping but I've heard a lot of times that ain't true at all. They can respond back and might with worshipping. What's your take on this?

Here are my own personal definition of the two. Deity Work: Communicating with a deity for reciprocity or a trade of discussed energies and actions. These are often discussed in how it will be done, when it will be done, etc. This can be seen as sort of a "business deal" in a way. There is a specific PURPOSE in why you are contacting them and what will be done between the two of you. (EX: Working with Apollo for your art/music in return for ritual work/dedicating energy&time to him/etc.) Deity Worship: Speaking and acknowledging a deity with reverence. Praising their name, their acts, personalities, myths, etc. Often, this includes traditional worshipping acts like prayer, poems/art/performances, offering gifts/meals/etc. Many times worshippers do so not only to honor the deity but to receive their favor.

To me personally, there tends to be an overlap between these two things with those who pursue deities but not everyone who works with a deity worships them and not everyone who worships a deity works with them.

I think saying worshippers cannot communicate with deities is a little silly. Deities are appreciative of being honored by someone and will often take interest in those who do so. But like... anyone can pick up a divination method and talk to the gods. It's not something exclusive to people who work with deities. Otherwise, how else would you even START deity work if you have to work with them in the first place to talk to them???? I've had the opportunity to speak to a number of deities who I do NOT work with, do NOT worship and they pop up once or twice just to talk. It's super gatekeep-y in my opinion to suggest that only a specific practice has access to the gods when that's just not true?

Everyone's practice is of course different but that doesn't mean you can tell other practitioners what they can/can't do by your own personal set metrics.

I had a presentation today, and there's nothing (and I mean nothing) I hate more than those, so as a treat I made the rest of the day real cozy. Baked bread & listened to podcast while cleaning my apartment; good chill times

Preferred communication: Discord or IM's. I have had a few roleplays on both platforms but I don't put my discord out there too much bc I get overwhelmed easily. hence why it takes me decades sometimes to answer over there.

Experience: I started roleplaying with Lion King OC cats on Deviantart && that's where I met @yoroiis . we've been interacting for 15+ yeeears. They were the first to inspire me to be who I am, without them I wouldn't even BE HERE. I was such a prick in my younger times && it mind boggles me how they ever put up with me ;w; I am, somewhat, more mature now && I am grateful for every interaction I can obtain. Being here distracts me from the shithole reality && I really am honoured to be in the presence of every single one of y'all!

Preferred roleplay type: All kinds! except ask chains. If we continue an ask, I prefer either sending another ask or making a new post. Mostly bc I can't trim asks.

Pet peeves & dealbreakers:

-Shipping- my muse is an ATTENTION WHORE -- so he will have various ships but my muse sleeping with everyone does not imply that he wants to get married. unless we talk through IMs or plot it out. It's his "character" so yes I will fuck with 98% of my interactions until he straightens out his life.

That said, I'm also going to touch base on my shipping with Stolasses. He will only ship with @stolsas / @grimowled / @botanikos . Stolsas being my Blitz's Main. He is open to interact with other Stolas, but it will mostly be for banter or indulging shenanigans. sorry.

-Ship wars- I'm with @peppy-jester on this one. I let people ship who they want to ( no pedos ) && wouldn't harass anyone over their kinks. its immature && we are all adults here! let people have fun && do as they please. Imagine arguing over fictional characters.

-Drama- if you're purposely starting drama that's a dealbreaker for me. I don't appreciate it && will never encourage it. I, myself, don't condone it... which is why you will hardly ever see me answering hate anons. I refuse to suffer migraines over it or waist my time indulging such nonsense. Frankly when most of the times it's attention seekers.

Are you like your muse? . . . . eh, in more ways than one. I have had my transactional moments, Exes, && other stuff I can relate with. Most of it is personal so I can't say other than-- I feel him to some extent!

trying to look for a ttrpg group in spaces where I can't just go 'listen I want to play this shit in the tumblr fandom kind of model (gay subtext extremely welcome bordering on essential, mutual unhinged character psychoanalysis, we could create a novel of a backstory together to make this sadder, let's all play with our OC dolls together and also sometimes dice are rolled I guess)' and be readily understood and/or not be immediately side-eyed or denigrated for my inherent unavoidable tumblerinaness feels like such an annoying debuff to deal with on the quest. like I know my people exist out there but how do I express myself in the right way and wade through all the copious not-it (not for me) dynamics to find them!!!
