finished emio: the smiling man!! pretty solid, really great presentation, iffy pacing, and a few underwhelming elements, but i was able to have a good enough time with it. the epilogue was a real highlight for me, but there were a few standout moments in the game proper as well. wouldn't say no to playing more if more entries get made and will definitely be checking out the remakes of the other two entries at some point :]

You yawn and stretch, sitting up in the bed. You look over at Embry, who is still sleeping. You lean down and give a quick kiss on his cheek. You stand up and step into the kitchen.

You see Jared, Quil, Paul, Kim, and Rachel lying together in the living room. You smile and shake your head. You absolutely love the pack. Right now, they're staying with you and Embry because you guys just got your new house. Sam said that it's Emily time for him, so to just stay here and bug you two. They actually did.

A loud alarm sound blares in the living room. Everyone groans and sits up. Paul throws a pillow at Quil, who is still sleeping. "Bro, turn that shit off."

You start laughing, and they turn to you mumbling 'good mornings.' Embry walks in, scratching the back of his neck. He walks to you and plants a kiss on your lips. His morning voice sounds like music to your ears as he says, "Morning, beautiful." You could melt.

You wrap your arms around his waist and hold tightly onto him. He starts chuckling and runs his hand through your hair. "Clingy day?" He asks. You nod against his chest. You just want to be in his skin today.

Soon, everyone starts moving around, getting food, and showering. You and Embry are chilling on the porch, drinking coffee. "Hey!'' You glare at him when he pulls his hand away from your thigh. You grab it and put it back in place. He bursts into laughter. "Babes, I just wanted to check the time on my phone." You lean into his side. "I want you." You mumble. He knew what you meant by that. It wasn't in the sexual way. He kisses the top of your head. "You'll always have me." You lean up and kiss his lips. He kisses you back, and then the door flies open. It's Quil. He burps very loudly and then rubs his stomach. "Y/n, them leftovers were amazing. Embry's lucky. He's got a chef." He smiles. "Yeah, I am lucky. Too bad so sad for you." Embry laughs and jokes. Quil puts his weight on one leg and points a finger at him. "You, sir, are a handsome prick." Embry mocks him in a silly voice, copying him. "Now, go back inside. I'm trying to kiss my wife." Embry flips him off. You turn to look at him and the front door shuts behind you.

"Wife?" You ask and smile widely. Your heart can't contain it. "If you wanted to, I'd marry you right now." He grabs your chin and plants kisses on your lips. "You know I'm a sucker for you. I live on my knees to worship you, Embry."

"You're the only person in the world I care about." He says, looking into your eyes.

After sitting for a moment, you hear banging inside. You and Embry jump up and walk in to see Paul holding Jared down. "Don't piss me off!" Paul yells. Jared groans and fights back, pushing him on the couch. "It was one bite, Paul!" You look at the group to see everyone has dug into the cereal. "I guess it's a cereal morning!" You giggle. "Guys, cut it out!" Embry walks to them.

You go to the fridge to take out the milk. Huh? The box of cereal is in there. Where's the milk? You open the cabinet to see the milk.

"WHOOOOO put the MILK in the CABINET?!" You called out. Everyone gets quiet.

"I wasn't the last one to get a bowl." Kim points out. Everyone starts pointing fingers at each other. "Which one of you hoes did this?!" You keep pointing at the milk that is sitting next to the cans and boxes. They start bickering back and forth. "WHOOOO DID THIS?" You yell. "Was it you?" You point to Quil. He lifted his hands up in defense. "I don't know. Maybe?" He says. "But you just said you didn't. So it was you?" Your hand still pointing at the milk. "I might've." He side eyes everyone. "C'mon, bro. It's not that deep. Just put it in the fridge." Quil laughs. "You're a dumbass." Jared slaps the back of his head. You're too stunned to speak. You just stand there staring blankly at the dude.

😘 – what would they look for in an s/o?

I think Hux would look for two conflicting things in an s/o: ambition/drive and the ability to relax and not take things too seriously. on one hand, I think he does really need someone who can match his energy. his whole life is about working in dogged pursuit of his goals, and I think he would find it hard to relate to someone who didn't share that sense of drive, at least to some extent. I don't think they would have to be in the same field as him (in fact, it's probably better if they're not so that no competition emerges), but I do think that Hux would look for someone who takes their goals seriously and has a lot of passion for their work

on the other hand, I think he also needs someone to temper that impulse in him. everyone around him expects something of him, and his work is constantly under scrutiny. it would be nice for him to have someone who he didn't have to perform around, someone who would encourage him to take a breath and just be for a moment. so I guess what he really needs is someone with perspective; someone who can appreciate and empathize with his ambition, but also remind him that there's more to life than constant work

💐 – would they give their s/o gifts? if so, what kind?

again, I think Hux would be of two minds in this regard. on the one hand, he grew up in the imperial remnant where supplies were hard to come by, and I think that instilled in him a sense of austerity and distaste for clutter and wastefulness. in that sense, he certainly wouldn't be giving "useless" gifts, like things that would just sit and collect dust. even for sentimental things, I think it would be hard for him to overcome that idea that everything needs to have a functional purpose. he might make a couple of exceptions for really meaningful things though

on the other hand..... whooooo boy does this man have self-esteem issues! he finds it so hard to believe that anyone would be with him just to be with him. he projects this ultra-confident facade, but inside he is so insecure. one way for him to make up for that would be by giving his s/o things that he thinks might make it "worth it" for them to be with him. they're still mostly functional (often expensive) things, but he does put care and thought into selecting them. as the relationship progressed and his s/o was able to convince him that they weren't with him as some sort of transactional exchange, I could see him getting more comfortable giving more sentimental, meaningful gifts. even once he got past that insecurity, expressing his feelings verbally is still hard for him, so giving gifts is a nice way for him to show his affection without having to be too vulnerable

🥂 – what are dates with them like?

first, they are few and far between 😅 at least if we're talking in terms of "formal dates." Hux is a busy man and he just doesn't have a lot of time for things like dates, even if he would like to. however, "informal" dates, like having a quick meal together in the privacy of his quarters or just working together in a private space, are much more frequent. Hux definitely feels guilty about not having more time to spend with his s/o, so when he makes the time for a formal date, he goes all out

they usually happen planetside, since first order ships don't exactly scream "romance" lmao. Hux will book an expensive restaurant and reserve a speciality table (usually on a balcony or by a window looking out over the planet). afterwards, he'll have gotten tickets to some kind of fancy entertainment (whatever that particular planet specializes in, usually something adjacent to opera or theatre or ballet). then the night will end in a suite at the nicest hotel the planet has to offer, and both Hux and his s/o can enjoy a night away from the pressures of the first order

if his s/o is the kind of person who prefers "quirky" dates (like whatever the star wars equivalent of going to a farmer's market or playing mini golf is), he might be able to get on board with it, just because his s/o enjoys it. however, those kinds of more free-form, sometimes silly outings are much more foreign to him, and he's a lot more comfortable in more "formal" dates. however, no matter what he does with his s/o, he always tries to make it a time to show them how much he love and appreciates them 💖

Solar heard so desperate. I bet he really got triggered back to his Moon, and his Sun.

Solar be like if I have 1 dollar for every person I care about because of me went crazy, it is weird that I will have 2 dollars.

And the way he stabbed Nexus and realized nothing worked? That Nexus turned worse because of himself, not because of someone else? Haha, that dude went straight to murder. Guess he has learnt his lesson with his Moon somehow. Once my boy tastes blood, it just keeps going like that I guess...

But... Seeing Nexus to be this cringe and ask Solar to come and work with him... And just flushed away his family and blamed Sun for being scared of him and pushing him away while in reality, Sun rarely mentioned Old Moon anymore and that is just Nexus being self conscious?

I want to say I am surprised but honestly, I had guessed this for like several days before. It actually turned out better than I expected though. I guess I just expect the worst, that Solar will be captured or such or he is too weak to kill Nexus - his used to be friends, family once again.

Although it is really a concern that Nexus can talk into Solar's head. God knows if he will whisper something really stupid for Solar to do something stupid... And I guess the shards things Sun can detect properly related to Star power.

Cuz even the Astral Bodies couldn't realise Nexus is here, but Sun can, so I guess... Sun will be more in danger than he is now, especially after Nexus stops avoiding him.

I still don't get it. Why does Nexus keep threatening everyone but leave Sun. He wants to hurt Lunar, Earth (again), bashing off Moon's head, Dazzle and Jack, but he never mentioned what he would want to do to Sun? Maybe it is the mercy for someone who is used to his brother?

Cuz the way Nexus keeps repeating himself that Solar is his brother, Solar is the only one he cares about is bull. We both know it is bull. And also weird.

Because in the dream he had, he lost Sun and he just totally wiped off Solar's existence. He was screaming his lung out that he wanted his brother back. And while with Earth and Lunar, their sins were wanted to do nothing with him, then with Sun, he mentioned Sun only liked him because of pity.

I guess in some twisted levels, Nexus really understands Sun, and still misses Sun, somehow. But he feels bitter towards Sun too, like he is never enough for Sun.

While Solar still very couldn't accept the fact that Nexus becomes this egomaniac, and the conversation was just end ups with Nexus laughing and mocking Solar runway. With Sun, they understand each other too well which leads them to really don't need to say anything, and just accept the fact that Nexus is already gone.

And.... If before it is Sun and Solar hopes to somewhat bring Nexus back, now in that boat the only one person left is Sun.

Sun seems not surprised when hearing what Solar says is really sad. He also seems like he wants to say something more... I really hope this Endgame will be Sun stop Nexus because for real, right now, it is only Sun does not totally give up or want to kill Nexus.

Surely he is angry at Nexus for stabbing him in the back. But like Nexus used to say when approaching Dark Sun, even Sun in his head isn't that mean.

Please Tsams, let Sun and Nexus have one big fight!!!! Please Sun!!!!

Note: it is really hard warming to see how Sun and Solar get along really like siblings. Solar pouring water on Sun's head and both three of them hang out? Peach!!!

And... Nexus really calls Dark Sun his partner huh? Guess he still feels lonely somehow with his new shiny self destructive power.

I wonder what kills him faster, his negative star power or Dark Sun will betray him in the end or Solar and Moon and the Astral Bodies will come to get his ass.

I feel bad for Nexus, that dude has none of origin thoughts in his head. Becomes God? Creator. Consuming Star power? Eclipse. Pushing everyone away and becoming the biggest ass of yourself and doesn't even care if it kills you or not because you to blind on hating yourself? Old Moon.

He just continues to do what he has seen. For someone who doesn't like to be a puppet on strings, he really let himself play like a fiddler a lot.

He rather let himself drown in his delusional freedom (thinking he is the one who controls when in fact he knows Dark Sun is just using him. And maybe this is better because Dark Sun doesn't care about him. He doesn't want anyone to care about him...) than let himself be loved.

And that's really sad and like Solar said, pathetic.
