I volunteered as tribute. All I asked for is a normal human life, a seat at the table, and for my voice to be heard. If I go home today, we get Good Place #3. If I get a seat at the table and everyone at least hears me out, I think nobody will ever go through this shit again; plus as a bonus I should be reunited with my brother and my sister. I only ever had one, but I know their secret names and I know the way, so if you want to end up in the Best Place I suggest R_m or R_nb arrange to get the rest of my stuff from Kuopio to Ushaw Moor House by Tuesday 22nd October 2024.
I still love you all. Last Thursday was Holey Thursday (not Hollie or Hannah or the Holy Ghost) and yesterday was Best Friday (not Brian or Bridget but I think I built a bridge you can have for a song) and today is Esther Saturday and my parents are both coming to visit me later, and tomorrow I should also have two visitors but i might be wrong. 💚🩷💜🩵💙🩵💜🩷💚❤️😘😻🔱⚕️🖤😜💚💛🧡💛💚🤷🏻♀️
Today's gonna be the day we notice cause I'm tired of explaining what the joke is and it turns out I'm better at improv comedy then even I knew but I think I need a lie down now more than I need to stand up or sit down. So long and thanks for all the fish; don't worry, I think I've learned enough about fishing that I won't bet taking a non-euphemism nap and time soon, but I'm finally River Song and The Doctor so I'm not worried about spoilers any more. R_f has blue eyes and E_f has green eyes, and I am no man but I could be a Merry Hobbit or a Bad Habit depending on how things go.
I love you all AND go fuck yourselves, except the 144000 people who are already in my web of love. They all get to be their best selves, and everyone else gets to live on a beach instead of living with This Bitch. 🤍🧡💛💚🩷❤️💜💙🩵🖤22101982
See you at the Garden Party. There are at least three different House Parties (Father F_m, Mother M_f, Parent_NB P_infinity), one @LAN party that's just Barbies and Kens and Alan C, a political party in the wilderness, a picnic in the forest but watch out for Trent the Flying Ant and Lilith the Flying Aunt, and that's seven parties which is enough for me to retire as Aluminium (or Aluminum or Alexander or Aaron) and become Auntie Echo (NB Eliza/Elijah, Eimear/Emer, Esther/Pauline, Éanna&Paul&Maria&Eoin, etc.).
I really hope someone still has my notes from my time at A&E. God doesn't have Cancer, but they are hitting puberty and I'm not chemotherapy, I'm more like puberty blockers until humanity as a whole is ready to behave properly. I think I might be poly but I'm definitely "human" but my husband doesn't know yet that we've both been "human" this whole time (and in fairness I think the only reason we got turbo divorced was so I could be Leah not Rachel or Carol or Sugar).
Tomorrow I think A_m and R_f will come visit me, and they'll look familiar but not too familiar but not too not familiar. But Lucy or Caitlin told me my eyes were blue this morning, and I already had a nap, so tomorrow they'll be green and I won't need to babble about colours or alphabets any more because I'll have a seat at my own table in the room where it happens and they get to live happily ever after, because I was already Isabella and Mirabel and now my brother gets to be Bruce Wayne and I get to be Luisa for a change. Love you all. We already had one Holey Thursday and one Holy Thursday this year (2024 CE) and I only know this because of my phone but it's Saturday 19th October 2024 and I haven't seen anything tragic since at least Friday 3rd October 2024 but my tummy hurts so you'll have to excuse me.
I guess I might be the phantom of the opera but as long as you keep your hand at the level of your eyes you have nothing to fear from E_f or R_f, and L_f already gave you Her covenant. Don't worry if you're happy with the beach you're on; I'm a bitch but I'm a lot of other things too, including a livestock guardian sheepdog with just enough of the wolf about her not to fear the shepherds or the reaper.
Thank you for the music. I'll see you when I see you, but I'm not going anywhere. I love you all, but we all could probably do with a bath-tism about once a year, where we need it or not, as my Granda Dicky used to say. I don't remember him very well but the best parts of him are already here in my dad, and we're both canon now and so is everyone else I already loved on 3rd October 2024, which I think was a Thursday but as I already told the Catholic Pope Francis, I might be wrong. 💚🩷💜

A true home(The hobbit Fanfic)
Chapter 9
Third Pov
They travelled for the whole day and stopped at a cliff when the sun started to set, making camp. The girls groaned as they got off the ponies. Their thighs were in so much pain. They have never ridden on a pony pony before, let alone more than 3 hours.
Kili got off first and helped Renée. As soon as her feet touched the ground, her legs gave out and she would've fallen if not for Kili holding her. He held his arm around her waist and waited until she got some feeling back into her legs. The same happened with Kate so Fili held her against him.
Lilith was also sore but not as much as Renée and Kate. She walked to them. Eventually the girls were able to feel their legs again and managed to stand up with a bit of help.
When they felt well enough to walk, they tested a few steps and were relieved. Renée and Kate thanked the boys, making them grin and wink at them before heading over to Thorin. They just rolled their eyes but didn't stop the smile that made their way to their faces. It was officially night and the girls did their own thing.
Renée helped Bombur with supper, Kate stayed near the ponies and spoke with Dori about who knows what. Lilith was helping gather firewood for the fire. Finally after the long day, everyone had supper and got some sleep.
Thorin told Fili and Kili that they were on the night watch. Renée had trouble sleeping so she took out her phone and read some books. She hoped it would help her fall asleep but so far no luck. She tried closing her eyes and thinking of something else but still no luck. She huffed and gave up. She knew she wasn't going to fall asleep anytime soon so she got up and walked to where Fili and Kili were.
She sat by Fili and leaned against her back against the wall.
Renée's Pov
"Can't sleep?"
Fili looked at me while he took a puff from his pipe. Kili looked up and saw me sitting by Fili.
"Nope. I often can't fall asleep. I'm used to it. I think my mind is still awake. Plus you never know who might attack you in your sleep. Besides, I prefer the night. It's more calm and peaceful."
I moved closer to the fire and put my hands out, in hopes that my hands would warm up. Kili looked at me and took off his coat before handing it to me.
"Here, it'll keep you warm."
"But won't you get cold?"
"Nah, Dwarves are able to handle the cold. Here, take it. You need it more than I do."
He smiled at me and I got up and walked to where he was. I sat with my back against the wall, taking his coat and covering me. I stared at the fire and watched the flames . Something about fire has always interested me. I don't know what it was but I feel safe and alive when I see it. Sometimes I wish I could touch it. Kili moved closer to me so I shifted a bit and put my head on his shoulder.
I could feel Fili smirking from here. I swear he's never going to let this go. I ignored it and started to drift off. I don't know why but I feel safe and comfortable when I'm with Kili. I don't need to pretend.
I can just be me. I know I can't give in to my feelings. I'll have to leave when this quest is done. I don't want to hurt him. I feel a pair of lips touch my forehead, making me smile as I slipped into darkness.
Lilith's Pov
I woke up feeling cold. I sat up and looked around. I found Kate sleeping beside me but I couldn't find Renée. I started to panic until I saw her with her head on Kili's shoulder, sleeping. Her insomnia must have prevented her from sleeping. I got up and walked over to where Fili and Kili were, sitting between them
"Is she sleeping?'
Kili nodded with a smile. He likes her. I knew it. I sighed with relief and leaned my back against the wall, staring at the stars.
"It's rare for her to fall asleep so quickly. She's always had trouble and had to sleep by me or Kate. I guess she trusts you. Nice Job. She usually gets like 3 hours of sleep so this is good. She needs the rest. Thanks Kili."
He just nodded his head and me before turning back to his pipe. It was so calm. I heard noises and saw Bilbo getting up and stretching. He must've woken up because of the snoring. I saw him walking to the ponies and took something out of his pocket. I couldn't see what it was. I turned to Fili and we just gave a knowing grin. So sneaky Bilbo.
Suddenly A screech filled the air, causing me to jump and Renée to wake up . She huddled closer to Kili who put his arm around her. Smooth Kili, real smooth. She looked around, her eyes landing in Bilbo. He looked terrified and made his way to us,
" What was that?"
"Orcs."
The screeching continued and I made a face. It like a cat hissing but more violently,
"Orcs?"
Bilbo looked like he was going to faint. Poor guy.
"Throat-cutters. There'll be dozens of them out there."
I looked at Fili.
"The lowlands crawling with em"
"They strike in the wee small hours when everyone's asleep. Quick and quiet, no screams. Just lots of blood."
Renée looked somewhat intrigued. Don't ask me, I have no clue why. I noticed Thorin was awake. The boys looked at each other and started laughing, making me hit the back of their heads. I nodded my head towards Thorin when they looked at me.
"You think that's funny? You think a night raid by orcs is a joke?"
Thorin walked towards us. The boys looked down, immediately feeling guilty.
"We didn't mean anything by it."
"No you didn't. You know nothing of the world."
He walked and stood by the edge of the cliff. Renée rubbed Kili's arm as a way of comfort as I did with Fili. They smiled at us. I got up and sat next to Renée, causing her to lay her head on my lap. She snuggled into my leg, making me smile. She was like a little kid sometimes. I rubbed my fingers through her hair. I saw a movement coming towards us, looking up to see Balin.
"Don't mind him laddie. Thorin has more cause than most to hate orcs."
We all looked at him. I knew what he was referring to but decided to listen to the story.
"After the dragon took the lonely mountain , King Thror tried to reclaim the ancient dwarf kingdom of Moria. But our enemy had got there first. Moria had been taken by legions of orcs led by the most vile of all their race, Azog the Defiler. The giant Gundabad orc had sworn to wipe out the line of Durin. He began by beheading the king. Thrain, Thorin's father was driven mad by grief. He went missing. Taken prisoner or killed, we did not know. We were leaderless. Defeat and death were upon us. That is when I saw him. A young dwarf prince facing down the Pale orc. He stood alone against this terrible foe. His armour rent, wielding nothing but an oaken branch as a shield. Azog the defiler learnt that day that the line of Durin would not be so easily broken. Our forces rallied and drove the orcs back. Our enemy had been defeated. But there was no feast, nor song that night for our dead were beyond the count of grief. We few had survived. And I thought to myself then there is one who I could follow. There is one I could call king."
I felt wetness on my leg and realised that Renée had teared up a bit at the story. She always did when she heard this story. I looked up and saw everyone standing up looking at Thorin who turned around to see us staring at him in awe. He walked us when Bilbo turned to Bilbo and asked.
"And the Pale Orc? What happened to him?"
"He slunk back into the hole from whence he came. That filth died of his wounds long ago."
As Thorin said that, I saw Balin and Gandalf exchange a look. I knew that they knew Azog was alive. Renée and I looked at each other with worry. We feared for what Thorin would do once he found out the truth.
Renée put her head back on my leg and went back to sleep. I massaged her head, causing her to snuggle against my leg. I adjusted Kili's coat so that she was warm. Everyone went back to sleep. What we didn't know was that we had attracted the presence of orcs.

Bilbo wasn’t sure how he was supposed to do this.
Lets lay all this out, the dwarves are locked up somewhere around in this vast hive of wooden halls and here he was running around trying to figure a way to get them out…after he finds the jail of course.
Walking down a flight of stairs, Bilbo was even more turned around once he realized that he was in the bloodly wine cellar.
“Galion, you old rogue, we're running out of drink!" The poor halfing came out of his skin as he heard the voices behind him. Running around the tall pillar, panting out of fear.
“These empty barrels should have been sent back to Esgaroth hours ago." The one voice continued. "The bargeman will be waiting for them."
“Say what you like about our ill-tempered king.” Another voice spoke almost wistfully, “He has excellent taste in wine. Come, Elros, try it.”
“I have the Dwarves, in my charge.” the other groaned, causing Bilbo to peer around the wooden pillar. There were only 2 of them Bilbo noted.
“They're locked up.” the elf holding a large bottle of what Bilbo guessed as wine, laughed as he plucked the large set of keys from the other elf's hand.
Keys! Bilbo practically vibrated and jumped as he watched the guard latch on a hook on the wall near the staircase. That was the way to release the others!
“Where can they go?" The Elves laughed together as they moved over to the large table in the far corner of the cellar.
It wasn’t long after, that the elves drank themselves asleep. Behind the pillar, Bilbo shook his head, as he climbed back up the stairs to reach over to unhook the keys from the wall. Elves clearly did not have the acquired experience that Hobbits and-
“Woah!”
“Umph"
A large body just knocked him down the stairs. Hitting the floor, the person who knocked him down apparently did not see him completely reappear as the ring loosed off his finger. Just looking down in time to miss the illusion.
“Bilbo??”
“Aranea!?"
"Shhh" the woman shushed as she pulled the halfing around the corner again.
“What are you doing here?" Bilbo whispered as the woman crouched in front of him. Looking frantically at the snoring guards "How did you find us?"
“I found this” Aranea held up Bofur’s tobacco pouch, pulling it from her pocket. “Surrounded by dead spiders with woodland arrows. I figured King Thranduil would pull a stunt but this is ridiculous.” she scoffed with a deep breath as she tucked it back into her vest.
“Now how did you not get captured?” she turned on the hobbits hands gripping his shoulders as she searched over him from his wounds. "and how did you get in?"
“I’m…" he hesitated, causing Aranea to raise an eyebrow"...a burglar?” he grinned cheekily, saving himself.
Aranea with another eye roll and scoffed, “Alright Mister Burglar, do you have a plan to get the others out? Cause I might have something.”
"I'll wager the sun is on the rise." A sigh came from Bofur's cell. "Must be nearly dawn." he sighed again.
"We're never gonna reach the mountain, are we?" Ori whined slightly, leaning on Dori’s shoulder.
"Not stuck in here, you're not." A quick voice came from around the corner of Thorin’s cell.
"Bilbo" Thorin breathed, running to the doors of cells to look as the hobbit fiddled his keys, ramming each one in till he found the right one.
"What?" Fili asked from down the hall.
"Bilbo!" Balin yelled as he looked over the pathway.
"Bilbo!?" More voice choruses, as Bilbo finally opened Thorin's door.
"Shh! There are guards nearby!". The halfing whispered hurryingly
"Ahaha" Dwalin laughed as Bilbo came to his cell next. Reaching through the bars to pat the him on his shoulder. Finally finding the order of the Keys, the halfing began running to each of the cells, opening the next one faster the next.
"Close the door." Thorin ordered, "It'll buy us more time."
"Up the stairs!" Balin gestured as Bilbo opened the last cell, Bifur's and Bombur's.
"Not that way." Bilbo whispered and yelled again, "Down here. Follow me." He gestured to the direction he came from, down the stairs.
"Go, go." The others immediately followed. Whispering in glee and stress as they walked down the various paths and stairs. "Easy now."
"This way." Bilbo proceeds to lead the dwarves to the cellars, where Aranea directed him. They whisper indistinctly. The elves there are sound asleep around a table; with several more empty bottles of wine around them then Bilbo remembered them drinking, he finally leads the dwarves further in.
"I don't believe it." Kili gasped "We're in the cellars!" He whispered yelled.
"You were supposed to be leading us out!" Dwalin growled "-not further in!"
"I know what I'm doing!" Bilbo tried to reassure them. "Shh!"
They sneak into a large room adjacent to the passed out elves, in which several barrels are stacked sideways down the middle of the room.
"This way!" Bilbo gestured, pulling the dwarves deeper into the room pointing at the ends of the barrels "Everyone...climb into the barrels quickly."
"Are you mad?" Dwalin growls again, getting more frustrated with the hobbit. "They'll find us."
"No, no. They won't, I promise you. " Bilbo waves his hands, promisingly," Please, please. You MUST trust me" He glanced over at Thorin next to him.
Thorin thinks for a minute, the other watching as he finally nods. "Do as he says."
Groaning, each of the dwarves climbs into a barrel. Pushing and shoving each other in.
"Move your big ginger head." A curse leaves Bombur as Balin climbs up the barrels, placing a heavy boot on his nose.
"Bifur, get in...the barrel! Move!" Bofur pushed his brother in the barrel before climbing into the one next to it.
Bilbo walks along, counting to make sure all the dwarves have been accounted for.
"10, 11, 12, 13."
"Everyone's in." Bofur stated as he looked out his barrel.
"What do we do now?" Gloin asked and the others popped their heads out of the barrels to look over at the hobbit.
"Hold your breath." Bilbo shrugged before walking to the end of the platform, turning around to face them as he reached the leaver.
"Hold my breath?" Gloin asked, gruffly, "What do you mean?"
Bilbo pulls the lever, and the part of the floor that the barrels were on tilts downward into an opening. Each of the barrels rolls out the opening and falls several feet into a river that runs beneath.
The dwarves yell and curse as they fall, the barrels make loud thumping noises as the platform swings back up, closing the entrance. Bilbo triumphantly looks around.
"Huh she was right." He chuckled wiping the dust off his hands. "Just like Bobbers." He shook his head as his placed his hands on his hips, still chuckling lightly.
"Where is the Keeper of the Keys?" The loud voice of the she-elf, caused Bilbo to frantically back up then back down as he frantically looked around for a hiding spot.
But as he does, the trapdoor opens again with his weight on the edge. Dropping him straight down into the river below, telling as he fell.
Surfacing, spitting a stream of water, he paddles clumsily towards the closet barrel. Nori, holding out a hand, pulls him up to hold onto the edge of the wooden barrel.
From the front, all of them still in their barrels, Thorin shouts "Well done, Master Baggins."
Half-drowned Bilbo waves a dismissive hand, barely managing to sputter "Go!"
Nodding, Thorin turns, " Come on, let's go!"
The dwarves paddle with their hands as the river pulls their barrels along. Swimming the short cave as they finally emerged into the sunlight. Wide eyed, Thorin looks to see a waterfall right in front of them.
"Hold on!"
The dwarves, Bilbo, and the barrels plunge through the rapids, then float swiftly down the raging river.
"Bilbo!" Nori shouts "Hang on!" He pulled on the hobbit.
As the dwarves round a corner in the river, a loud horn blows, causing Thorin to glance further up to see a guard post built above the river.
The heavily armored elves standing guard there hear the horn and come to attention; one of them pulls a lever, causing a heavy metal, crossbar gate to block the river.
The dwarves in their barrels come to a stop at the gate, unable to float further.
"No!" Thorin yells as the barrels pile into each other. The elven guards draw their swords, but one is suddenly shot in the back with a black arrow, falling into the water.
Several growling orcs swarm over the guard post, killing the elven guards. Multitudes of orcs run in from the bushes following behind them a dark voice growling loudly.
"Slay them all!" Bolg pointed to the rest of the orcs. Who began throwing themselves at the dwarves in their barrels. Bilbo, stuck in between Nori and Bifur's barrels, manages to reach up and kill one with Sting as Dwalin elbows another in the face.
Kili looks up and sees the lever the elf had pulled earlier. Making quick work, He manages to get out of his barrel and runs up the stairs toward the lever. Unarmed, he ducks and jumps as several orcs swing at him. Grabbing one of their arms he twists and flings it straight into the water.
“Kili!” Dwalin, who had somehow managed to grab a sword from one of the orcs, throws it to Kili, who then fights his way to the top of the stairs.
As Kili fights an orc, another one leaps up from behind him, raising its spear to stab him. Fili throws an orc dagger and kills it.
Bolg, noticing Kili, pulls his bow and arrows from his back. As Kili reaches for the lever, Bolg fires, hitting Kili in the calf.
“Kili!” Fili frantically begins yelling for his brother.
Kili groans in pain and strains to pull the lever, but falls over onto his back. Bolg strings another arrow. Thorin looks shocked from his position under the stone gate. “Kili.” he breathes.
An orc leaps over to kill Kili, but an arrow suddenly flies into its head. Kili looks over and sees Aranea running throughout the bushes. She shoots another orc, pulling her bow over her head and pulling out her sword. Slicing and killing another one as she runs up to the gate.
Several of the dwarves shouted as they saw their companion.
"Aranea!" Ori yelled, swinging a hand up as she promptly killed another orc. Still stuck under the bridge, Thorin eyes widen even more with the shouts of the others.
Bolg growled again, spit and bile flying out of his mouth in anger "Kill her!" He exclaimed even louder than before. "Kill the Isildur Heir!!"
Kicking a smaller Orc over the bridge, panting Aranea looked over at the Orc, wide eyed. "Impossible." She whispered.
Several more orcs rush at Aranea. Swinging and sowing, she manages to kill many of her attackers.
With a shout, Aranea turns just in time to see a blonde elf and several other elves appear from the bushes and shoot the rest of them down. But more just kept coming.
As a red-haired she-elf and the blonde male, and Aranea along with the other elves fight the orcs, Kili manages to grab the lever and pull it, opening the sluice and letting the rest of company and their barrels through.
He then falls on his back again in pain. Bolg sees them. "After them!
“Kili!” Fili yelled again as his barrel began to move. Kili manages to slide himself off the ledge and into his empty barrel below. As he lands in it, the shaft of the arrow in his leg breaks off on the edge of the barrel.
The she-elf distractedly looks over at him and is attacked by an orc, but Aranea manages to slice the orc straight down its shoulder. It screaming as she shoved it over the edge and into the water. The two women share a look, a silent understanding passing before they overcome with more Orcs.
The remaining dwarves and Bilbo plunge over the waterfall and continue floating down the rushing river.
The dwarves try to paddle and steer with their hands, but to no avail; the river is running too wild. As they come to a narrow part of the river, orcs on either side begin shooting more arrows at them.
Meanwhile, back at the guard post, she-elf and Aranea continue fighting orcs. Legolas leaps to the top of the guard post as well. Glancing curious at the unknown woman momentarily.
After the post was almost cleared, Aranea immediately sprinted after the dwarves. Pulling at her bow again to shoot at the orcs as she ran along the bank of the river.
Tauriel, Legolas, and the other elves run after her and the orcs chasing the dwarves, shooting at the orcs.
An orc jumps from an overhanging tree branch toward Balin, but Thorin throws his sword and pins the orc to the tree; as the orc drops its weapon, Thorin catches it while floating beneath him, and he throws back to Bombur, who throws it to Nori, who throws it to Fili, who plunged an orc with it. Another orc leaps onto Dwalin barrel, only for Dwalin to headbutt it off with a grunt and steal its ax.
The dwarves see a low-hanging tree branch stretched across the river in front of them, with several orcs on it.
“Cut the log!” Thorin yells from the front. As he floats under it, He hits it with his sword, then Bofur hits it with his weapon, and Dwalin, right behind him, hits the branch with his ax, breaking it and causing the orcs on it to fall into the river. Bilbo manages to climb atop a floating barrel.
“Bombur!” Dwalin throws his ax to Bombur, who kills an orc that had just jumped onto his barrel. The Orc’s spear ends up pinning it to an overhanging tree branch; the other end of the spear catches onto Bombur’s barrel and catapults it through the air and onto the left riverbank, where the barrel rolls and tramples multitudes of orcs.
The barrel flips through the air to the other side of the river, where it tramples more orcs.
Eventually, the barrel comes to a stop, and orcs surround it; however, Bombur kicks out the bottom, then sticks his arms holding axes through the sides. He then starts spinning rapidly with the axes extended, mowing down all the orcs around him. Pieces of orc and wood flying through the air around.
Cleared enough from his barrel, He then runs toward the river, tosses his ax to one of the floating dwarves, as he gracefully jumps into an empty barrel.
Meanwhile, Aranea has caught up with the dwarves. Jumping over a log, she shoots at an Orc in mid jump over Bifur.
Legolas, Tauriel, and the other elves have caught up to the dwarves and orcs, shooting and lunging at the orcs.
At one point, Legolas leaps over the river and lands with a foot on the heads of Dori and Oin from this vantage point, he shoots orcs on either riverbank. He aims carefully, and manages to skewer two orcs through the head with one arrow.
Legolas still using the heads of floating dwarves as stepping stones to get across the river, leaps up to the large hill on the far side of the bank. Pulling at his double blades, as he lunged and swung at another orc.
Completely missing the other orc behind him, Quietly the orc raises its sword.
Thorin, from his barrel in the river, throws his sword and manages to kill the orc behind Legolas, giving him enough time to side kick the other orc off over the cliff.
Bilbo, still floating on the side over the barrel, hits a rock tipping his barrel over and plopping him inside. Just as he sticks his head over the edge, Aranea yells out a warning "Bilbo!"
Causing the hobbit to look up as the lady jumps from an overhanging branch into his barrel.
Legolas and Thorin look at each other with some sort of understanding; Legolas stops pursuing them as the dwarves continue floating down the river.
Looking around as he judges that the air was clear of orcs, as he continues to watch the dwarves and the strange woman float away. Who was she? And why did the dwarf save him? An orc draws its bow and aims at him; it shoots, but its arrow is suddenly deflected in the air by Tauriel’s own arrow.
As Legolas spins around in surprise, Tauriel attacks the orc and forces it to its knees. Just before she can decapitate it with her knives. He stops her.
"Leave that one alive."

Prisoner - Legolas x Reader
Hey! Somebody sent me a request to write a Legolas fic where the reader is part of the dwarven party in the Hobbit when they get kidnapped by the elves. (I accidentally deleted the ask because I hate this new beta so much and there is no way to go back in and add read mores after you save a post so I had to delete it and start over because ya'll deserve a cut, god dammit). I had actually been planning to write something basically exactly like this so I'll go ahead and give it a shot. In my version, Y/N is actually going to be Dúnedain so they have a slightly prolonged life span. It might have a couple of chapters, idk, depends where it goes. Thanks for sending a request!
Pairing: Dúnedain!Reader x Legolas (female reader) Setting: During the Hobbit films Warnings: swearing Masterlist
-------------------------------------------------------------
Y/N's vision was filling with black: black, furry limbs; black, sharp pincers; black beady eyes lunging at her from every direction. She swung her sword around over and over again, her arms growing tired from the losing battle but knowing that if she paused for even a moment, she would be dead. Around her, Thorin Oakenshield's party of dwarves snarled and screamed as they, too, barely managed to repel the onslaught of giant spiders that seemed never ending. There are too many of them. We will never win. She felt more legs wrapping around her from the floor, from the sides, even from overhead, and she knew this was the journey's end.
Just then, an arrow came whizzing past her ear and a spider on her back screeched in pain as it fell backwards. She did not dare stop her fight to look where it came from, only took the moment to catch the other beasts around her off guard. Once she could catch a breath, she looked around her and saw arrows flying through the air on all sides. Her eyes darted around the trees, trying to find the source, but she was again attacked by another spider. When she rounded on it, sword at the ready, she found that a tall, blonde elf had beaten her to it, already pulling his dagger from the creature's belly.
"I had it!" she snapped crossly. The wood elf shot her a loathing glance before taking off toward a thick throng of spiders that still attempted to attack the group. Not wanting to be outdone, Y/N scrambled after him with far less grace and speed but no less determination to finish what they had started. This time, it was she who embedded her blade into the torso of a beast that scurried up to the elf from behind. He whipped his head towards her and she shot him a mischievous smirk.
"Guess we're even."
When the last of the spiders finally retreated, the woodland elves turned on the dwarven party with weapons drawn, demanding they surrendered their weapons and and have their wrists bound. Y/N and the dwarves alike protested this crass treatment, not in the least bit due to wounded pride from needing the elves to rescue them from the spiders. Thorin in particular looked murderous, but led the party in a peaceful surrender.
As the elves herded them along the mysterious Mirkwood path toward their city, Y/N watched them with keen interest. Trained as a ranger, Y/N was quick to notice small details. She saw the elf that she had the tense interaction with during the battle near the front of the throng along with a beautiful red-headed she-elf. It was evident by the other elves' behavior that these two must be in charge. As if he could feel her eyes on him, the blonde whipped his head around and looked her in the eye, his gaze so intense it was almost difficult for Y/N to snap her eyes to the ground in front of her. Fucking elves and their fucking supernatural senses, she thought irritably.
Upon their arrival to the city, the guards took the party downstairs and locked them each in individual cells dotted haphazardly around the strange, woodland landscape. Perhaps because she was a woman or perhaps because she was human, her cell was far separated from the rest of the group, although she could see a few doors from the vantage point wherein she was trapped.
"Are we going to get any sustenance, or are we just meant to starve down here?" she asked the guard handling her hotly as he shoved her inside and locked the gate. His only response was a bored, emotionless stare before turning on his heel and heading up the stairs. With a groan, Y/N slumped to the ground, her body exhausted from the fight of the day. Before she knew it she had fallen asleep on the earthy ground.
A few hours later, she awoke to the sound of rattling. An elf shoved a bowl of stew and a skein of water through a flap in the cage door. Y/N's swallowed, her mouth dry and her belly rumbling, but for pride's sake, waited to snatch up the ration until after the guard had long retreated. As she slurped up the stew, she looked down toward the cell doors of Kili and Fili which were the only ones she could make out for certain.
After a moment, she saw the she-elf which she presumed to be the guard captain approach Kili's cell. Y/N drew a sharp breath, casting around for a weapon she might use to protect him, but he did not look afraid as he looked up at her and the two conversed. Y/N was unable to make out their low conversation, but it did not seem to be a tense one. In fact, after a few minutes, the elf sat down on a rock near his door in a relaxed and open posture, suggesting the two were speaking as if they were friends, not enemies. Puzzled, Y/N drew her gaze away from the pair, suddenly feeling as if she were intruding on a private moment.
Some time later, as Y/N was reflecting on Kili's strangeness and absently carving runes into the dirt, a pair of soft footsteps outside her cell door made her look up. Perhaps she should have been more surprised to see the blonde elf peering at her from the other side of the gate.
"What are you doing here?" she asked him irritably, not in the mood to be pestered by this haughty creature.
"I might ask you the same question. A human in a party of dwarves. And a woman at that. Very unusual." his voice was honey-smooth and reeked of high rank, even, perhaps, aristocracy.
"Gandalf the Gray requested that I accompany them on their journey. Perhaps you know the name?"
"Indeed. To us he is known as Mithrandir. It is strange for a wizard to meddle with the affairs of those inferior to him."
"If you knew Gandalf at all," she responded icily, "you would know that he does not consider anyone to be inferior to him. He values a great deal more than power."
"I suppose that explains why he brought you, then," the haughty elf quipped, obviously amused at his own joke. "Still, it is a shame that Mithrandir is not here to help smooth over the negotiations between Thorin Oakenshield and my father."
"Your father?" she questioned, guessing her suspicions about his heritage were about to be confirmed.
"Thranduil, the Elvenking, Lord of the Woodland Realm." There was a definite hint of pride as he spoke his father's name and title. "And--forgive me--my name is Legolas."
"My prince," Y/N said the honorific through gritted teeth, "perhaps you might tell me how the negotiations are going between Thorin and your father? By your tone it seems I should be worried."
A corner of Legolas's mouth turned up in a rueful smile as he explained, "my father has offered your party's release in exchange for the return of his own treasures that lie within the Lonely Mountain. A trade many would consider fair, do you not agree?"
Y/N sighed.
"And Thorin declined?"
"Indeed, he declined in a way so unbecoming that it is unlikely my father should make another offer."
Curse you and your pride, Thorin Oakenshield.
"So why have you come to me, then?" Y/N snapped at the prince, exhaustion and irritation blooming into a headache.
For the first time since she had first seen Legolas, his elven composure faltered slightly, as though he were unsure of his next words.
"I... hoped to ensure that you were being treated well. I do not relish having a woman locked up in these filthy cells."
Y/N snorted a bitter laugh. "My prince, I have survived many worse things in my lifetime than your cells. In fact, the ground is comfortable compared to how I have been sleeping in the last few weeks alone."
He frowned, seemingly unsure of what to say next. In the end, he decided to switch topics.
"Why did Mithrandir want you to join the dwarves?"
Y/N scowled at the question, having pondered it herself many times and being unable to come up with a satisfactory answer. "I suppose he thought they might have need of another sword. Or perhaps he thought they might benefit from having a woman in the party. The answer is still unclear to me. All that he said was..." she took in a breath, "that to take this journey was my destiny."
Legolas cocked an eyebrow. "Quite a proclamation from a powerful wizard. It is lucky for him--and for you--that I arrived to save you from being a spider's dinner."
Y/N scowled and bit back a useless retort. She hated to admit it, but if it weren't for the elves, the party most certainly would have fallen this afternoon.
"Is that what you came here for, then? To gloat?" she spat, making him draw back from the cell a step. "Very well. Thank you, my prince, for saving my life, only to lock me in a cage and torture me with petulant questions until I die of boredom. Now leave me to rest, if you please."
Legolas, to her surprise, seemed slightly hurt by her bitter words.
"No, I..." he trailed off, avoiding her eye as he tried to proceed, "I apologize, it seems that I have, in my embarrassment, upset you. I... I came down here to thank you for having my back earlier today. The spider you slayed, I did not see it coming. I came to tell you that I would beg your freedom from my father for this favor. But," he at last met her eyes, "it would be your freedom alone. I cannot bargain for the others, thanks to Thorin Oakenshield's pigheadedness."
Y/N gaped at him for a long moment before responding, "I will not abandon my companions here to be your fathers' playthings. I have more honor than that."
Legolas tilted his head and the corner of his mouth lifted. "I suspected you might say that. Very well. I shall leave you." He made to turn as if he were leaving, but he paused a moment and turned back towards her.
"If... if you should need anything at all, please tell the guard to send for me, lirimaer." With that, the prince turned on his heel and gracefully but quickly ascended the steps.
Y/N laid back on the soft ground and pressed her fingers to her cheeks, which she was mortified to find were warm and likely pink. She thought the last thing she had expected was for the elf-prince to call her lirimaer, which she knew to mean "lovely one".
As it turned out, the very last thing she had expected was to like it, very, very much.

SCOOPS A FUCKING HOY
Steve working there still and they have this "guess the riddle get free ice cream for your visit" thing.
Eddie is KING of riddles and gets them right everyday.
Steve noticing Eddie's belly growing, double chin forming, ass plumping.
He starts to give eddie more elaborate ice creams until one day he gives him their "boat float".
Which is a literal 5 gallon bucket of ice cream float.
They only used it for a promotional thing a couple years ago but they had a nice stack back in storage.
And eddie finishes it off slowly, deliberately teasing steve until steve creams his pants there at work.
Ok that's super fucking hot.
It starts off really slowly, the beginning of the riddle promotion. Eddie goes to the mall Scoops Ahoy to check it out and see what the riddles are like.
When he hears the first one, he bursts out laughing.
They took it from the fucking HOBBIT, man.
He gets his first free ice cream. He enjoys it like he imagined going down on Sean Penn or Rob Lowe, and gives the scoop-bitch a wink.
"Better up your riddle game, Loverboy. I'll make corporate regret their decision. See you tomorrow."
"Uh b-bye."
Then it's the riddle of the sphinx, "the doctor was the mother", "he stood on a block of ice", "it was a polar bear", "the horse was named Friday"...
Eddie'd never eaten more ice cream in his life and of course it was showing. His pants were obscenely tight, thighs rubbing, ass threatening to split the seam. His belly was starting to hang over his belt. The furry, happy trail portion of his belly constantly poked out the bottom of his shirts, he had cleavage if he rested on his forearms at the counter.
It's the end of the promotion and the pretty boy in the sailor suit tells him
"Last day and it's a double. If you can get the riddle you have a free chance at the 'boat float.' Finish that and you get free ice cream for life." The lie came easily and undetected. Eddie had no clue how hard, sailor boy was behind the counter.
"Gird your loins sailor, and lay the riddle on me. I'm sure I can polish off a single float."
Floppy-hair swallowed thick. His mouth was dry.
Then he did it, they'd cribbed the last one from Riddles in the Dark, how fitting that, like a ring, they ended where they began.
It was then that Eddie had to make peace with his decision to defeat the boat float. Seeing a five gallon tub brought out to his table and hearing he had an out to finish it, Eddie cracked his neck and his knuckles and started working at it.
He at clean and methodically, spoonful after spoonful and gulp after gulp disappearing into him.
Half way through he undid his pants to make room. He just kept at it and the boy at the counter found himself absently grinding into the counter watching transfixed.
Eddie only had a minute or two left to finish an sensing the time and seeing how little he had, he grabbed the tub in both hands pouring the creamy melt and soda into his face, finishing panting hard and punctuating with a belch. His hand immediately went to his belly, rubbing the bouncy, fleshy, blubbery taut thing.
Suddenly the guy at the counter said "Oh Go-od" and let out a strangled little shout.
Eddie screwed up his eyebrows finally looking at the guy in earnest "Hey. Aren't you Steve Harrington?"

Falling for you
The second installment of my drabble series. Let me know what you think about it. A big thank you again to @fortheloveoffanfic for being my beta 💗 Happy reading everyone
Also here are the songs played at the pub:
Bean Pháidín , Tell me Ma-Gaelic Storm , Galway Girl - Fiddler's Green
Summary: A few weeks later finds the reader in all kinds of embarrassing situations - mostly tripping over stuff or falling over people - right in front of Lee
Warnings: none, besides fluff, clumsiness and a little tinge of jealousy
Words: 2231
Another day on the set of the second installment of the Hobbit series and already you felt like the clumsiest of all people on set. Either you’d slip, trip or let stuff fall to the ground. But it wasn’t random, it only happened whenever you were around Lee or in his close proximity.
James and Martin had made fun of the fact that it would only happen with the tall actor, but you waved them off and of course Benedict chimed into the scheme.
“If I didn’t know better, I’d say you’re falling for the King, luv.” he said one time while the four of you had been granted a break from filming. “You make a fool out of yourself because there’s that one person that makes your heart skip a beat.”
Angrily shuffling your food around the plate, you glared at the British actor. “Well thank you for the vote of confidence. If you hadn’t said it I wouldn’t have known I was such a joke on set.”
“What Ben means to say, dear,” James started, putting his hand on your arm. “is, that when you feel something for another person you get clumsy, do crazy things or fall all over yourself because you can’t concentrate around them. All three of us went through that when we met the women we knew would one day be our wives. It has nothing to do with you being bad at your work, the opposite, actually.”
Reluctantly you nodded your head, feeling like you just made a fool out of yourself again in front of those that were your friends. “I’m sorry, it’s just that I’ve never been like that before and I fear if this happens more Pete will get tired of me messing up. I don’t want to lose this job.”
“You won’t,” Martin said with so much conviction, you couldn’t help but give him a small, teary smile. “Peter isn’t like that. He values your work as part of the crew and how you bring up new ideas or possible changes. Now if you were to set the whole place on fire that would be another case.”
Ben and James laughed softly and you couldn’t help the giggle escaping your lips when you listened to him. You were very lucky to have friends like them or you’d probably would have resigned after the first incident. “Thank you, you have no idea how much I needed this.” you said sending them a grateful smile. "But now I got to head back to work. The king on his throne is waiting for me."
All three laughed before Martin called after you. "Be careful up there and if you fall, fall in his lap, that's a lot more comfortable than the ground." he joked when you had turned back to the three actors but waved him off with your own middle finger. You knew he had a knack for putting his fingers up for the camera when he shouldn't and you were sure there were some scenes he snuck his middle finger in, just like he always did.
A chorus of laughter followed as you righted your work bag and made your way back to the set with Thranduil's throne.
Orlando stood underneath it, grinning up at Lee dressed up as the Elvenking and waited his turn. "Looking good, dad." he called with a chuckle and you could see the tall actor grin.
"Thank you, son. I feel very good up here." he answered leaning back on the chair, trying to fix his robes and wig as best as he could while a few strands were hanging in the branches of his crown.
Peter saw you emerging from the mass and called you over. "Ah, Y/N, good that you're here. Lee's just had a bit of a stumble up the stairs but we'll be doing a few headshots of him and well, you see the mess."
"Sure, I'll get right on it." you told him, taking a deep breath and steeling yourself so you'd be as relaxed as possible while working on fixing the actor. When he saw you approaching, Lee stood up and made to walk down, but you halted him with a motion of your hand. "Stay, I'm coming up so there's no repeat of that."
He stayed standing, watching you make your way up the stairs. Thank God there were handrails just in case. "If you insist
I could have come down, didn't want you to fall to your doom, dear mortal."
"Charms get you everywhere, huh?" you asked him with a grin as you ascended to the Weta built throne, pointing to the seat so he would sit back down again, keeping his long legs tugged to chair so you could start your work on his hair.
"So far it worked out rather well, I think." He told you, smiling as you gently pulled a strand away from the branch of his crown.
You couldn't help the small smile forming on your face as you listened to his jokes while you freed the last of his hair and righted his crown. A final touch of powder over his nose and you were finished. "Now, you're all done and you're looking regal again." You packed up your bag and turned to descend the stairs when you lost your footing and if it hadn't been for Lee's swift reaction, you would have tumbled down.
Short puffs of breath were leaving your mouth when you held on tightly to his shoulders, his arms circling your waist as you had fallen into his lap with that move. "Hello there." he whispered, watching your shocked face, eyes blown wide with fear. "You okay?"
Biting your lip, you couldn't help but enjoy the feel of his hands on your hip, the warmth spreading through your clothes. "I-I'm sorry, I, the stairs…I guess…missed steps." you brokenly mumbled, apparently having forgotten how to talk when you looked into his blue eyes. The contact lenses only intensified his gaze.
"Yeah, they're dangerous." Lee agreed, his head leaning closer, the rest of the world around you forgotten.
Yet before he could close the gap, Peter interrupted you with a loud whistle. "If you two turtledoves are ready, we'd like to continue." he called out to you with a chuckle. Of course everyone had seen that and you already felt the heat of your blush rising all over your body.
Carefully, yet hastily you scrambled off of Lee's lap and made your way down the stairs and to the back of the set. You would have loved for the ground to swallow you up when Benedict had come over and grinned at you.
"So, I don’t think you will tell me what that up there was.” he said matter of fact, knowing you wouldn’t even be able to describe it.
“Nope,” you said, eyeing the actor and PJ going over the next scenes with a dummy. “I’d rather leave it like it is. This is just too embarrassing."
He put his arm around your shoulders pulling you close. Martin was just walking around the corner having seen the whole thing and he instantly knew you'd be shutting down, only doing your work and nothing more, keeping your distance from Lee. The Brit found the eyes of his friend and co-Sherlock-actor, nodding once, then twice. They were your friends and could see that the sparks between their fellow actor and you were there, now they only needed to kindle the fire.
"Oh, this is wonderful." you gushed, looking around the Irish pub everyone decided to visit at the eve of their day off. "It's been too long since I had so much fun besides being on set."
Already the ciders and beers and whisky were flowing and everyone was laughing and singing with the band that played that night. James had decided to take a row of tables next to the musicians so the cast and crew that wanted to go there would fit into the seats.
"You all deserve a time off after the amazing work you did." Peter said, raising his pint of Guinness for a toast. You all followed suit, calling out a shout of "Hear, hear."
Laughing and listening to all the stories everyone was telling about their time on set, you enjoyed the feeling of warmth that spread through you. Not because of the alcohol but because of your family away from home.
"Are you enjoying the music?" James asked after a short while, himself listening to the tunes and words from his home country.
Nodding your head, you clapped your hands to the rhythm and smiled as a few people started to dance to the songs you couldn't understand the lyrics to. “What is she singing about?” you asked him, leaning in so he could understand the words with the louder music.
"It’s a really old Irish song, dating back hundreds of years in Ireland. This is one of the funny old Irish songs that is sung by a woman, and she sings about another woman." the Irish actor tried to explain over the loud music. "Back in the day women would get together and sing this song about the woman in town that was married to the man that they all wanted to be married to. ‘It’s a pity that I’m not Phaidin’s wife,’ and this woman who’s married to him, they hate her, and as the verses go on, they talk about what they’d like to do to her, like they want to break her legs and get rid of her and do anything to be this man’s wife. It’s a fun song. Irish music is like that. When you translate the words, sometimes it’s like gruesome and dark, but they’re meant in a lighthearted way."
You were always blown away by the way such a story could be shown in a nice tune. "The music is so lively, you'd never guess it's such a sad and dark story behind it."
"That's just the way the Irish are." James grinned at you before another song was starting.
"For our next song we'd love for you guys to get up, dance some more and just have fun." the female singer announced and waved to all patrons in the pub. The violin, banjo and drum began to play the first chords before the singer joined in. "Tell me ma when I go home, the boys won't leave the girls alone."
Benedict and James smiled at you, holding their hand out and pulled you from your seat and onto the provided dance floor where others had already started twirling around. "Let's dance and have some fun." the Brit said, giving you a twirl.
You couldn't help the smile that found its way on your lips as you danced around with the two actors, unbeknownst of the dark blue eyes following your moves. The dance was exhilarating and both James and Ben led you through the steps, jumping and twirling with other patrons until you were out of breath and another song was over.
When you came back to get something to drink you saw one of the seats being vacant. Lee was missing from the group of merry friends and you leaned over to Orlando, who had been sitting besides him. "Where did your dad disappear to?" you asked him, mirth coloring your words as you took a large sip of your drink.
He turned to you and smiled, patting the seat next to him, so you didn't have to stand. You were grateful for that with your feet aching from all the dancing you did with his fellow actors. "He said he needed to get back to the hotel, his flight back to the States is taking off early." Orlando said and your face must have shown your confusion as you didn't know Lee was needed back in America. "Shooting for Guardians of the Galaxy is starting in a few days and he wanted to get back earlier so he arranged it in the last few days. Peter knew about it, I'm surprised he didn't tell you."
"Oh, no, I really didn't know and Lee hadn't mentioned anything before." the disappointment colored your words and you sank back down in your seat. You couldn't help the feeling that it was something that recently happened and especially something you did or he would have been open enough to talk to you.
The British actor patted your leg and grinned. "Don't worry, he'll be back before you know it. Once he's done with that movie Lee's going to annoy us again with his dad jokes."
Nodding your head, you tried to feel confident, but still you didn't know why he didn't at least wait until you were back at the table to say his goodbyes. No he just left without so much as a word. Of course you were only there doing his make - up and hair but you had hoped that in the time you worked together you at least had become friends. Giving the dark haired actor a small smile you made your way back to your corner seat, staring off into space and trying not to get too drunk on your cider while thinking about why not even Peter had bothered to tell you his Elvenking was leaving the set sooner than planned.

You take my breath away - Teaser
A/N - Hey guys! here's a teaser of something I've been working on not sure if i should continue with this, It hasn't got any smut yet but will do if i continue on it. Please please please leave me a comment and let me know what you think! Apologies for any mistakes i haven't edited this or read it over!
Love Jen :)
He was the most incredible looking man you had ever seen, Walking through the gates with that possum in his hand, He was definitely a little disheveled, Looked like he was in serious need of a shower but gorgeous nonetheless. Your mouth going dry the moment you saw him, Feeling the now unfamiliar fluttering in your stomach as he walked by you, Not sparing a second glance in your direction.
His eyes alert and suspiciously taking in his surroundings, You watched as he handed his crossbow over, Fingers twitching as it was moved further away from him. Aaron leading them to Deana’s house. Where they will no doubt be being interviewed on camera, Just like all the newcomers were. Just like you had been three months before, Looking over the others in the group seeing their wary eyes the exhaustion showing through the cracks in their demeanor.
Letting out the breath you weren’t aware you had been holding you watched them disappear around the corner. As you were turning to go back into the house you were stopped by Olivia. Rushing from the direction the strangers had gone, a huge basket full of linens in her arms.
“Hey Y/N Are you busy? Any chance you can give me a hand? Deana has asked me to set up the two houses down the street for the new guys” Looking at you with those hopeful puppy dog eyes, She knew there was no way you could say no to her.
“Fineeee, But Jessie’s helping too!” You groaned turning back towards her and down the front steps.
“Thank you Y/N! Jessie’s already there loading some supplies into the cupboards” Her pace was getting faster now, Half running to keep up with her frantic walk you let her continue.
“Could you please start on the beds, That would be a HUGE help. Here take this” Offloading the basket to you she turned back towards the garage that held all of the town's supplies.
“I’m going to grab some more linen, I'll be back in a few!”
Groaning again at the weight of the basket you walked up the steps of the house Olivia had specified. Spotting Jessie in the kitchen immediately.
She laughed at your sour expression “She roped you into this too?” You nodded in reply carrying the basket up the stairs and starting in the first room you came too.
Picking up the first bundle of sheets, Finding a little note attached ‘Single’ Pushing them to one side you picked up the next ‘Double’ Taking the note off and putting it back in the basket you made your way to the bed. Pulling the sheets on and making the bed easily you continued into the other three bedrooms upstairs, Finding one set of double sheets remaining.
Walking down the stairs you passed Jessie again in the Kitchen, Stopping for a moment you took a glass of water from her mumbling your thanks, “Just the basement left! Has she come back yet?”
“Mhmm She left that for you” pointing to a basket of towels. “And she said she’s left the next bunch of sheets and towels in the next house ready”
“And what pray tell is olivia doing while she’s got me sweating like a Whore in Church”
Jessie choked a little on her water trying to suppress her giggle at your words. “Beats me! Tried to ask her, She ran off looking very important” She giggled again.
“Best get on before she finds more jobs for me!” Jessie agreed to grab the towels and put them into each bathroom, Snagging two from her you took it down to the basement with you.
This place was lucky really, There had been a hotel nearby that was just about to open as all hell broke loose that had stacks of linens, Plates and silverware. Enough to fully stock this place for a long time.
It seemed silly to you at first for this to be a huge concern but the longer you stayed here and the more you got used to the little comforting things like the Clean bedding and actual utensils the more important it had started to feel. It made you feel normal, Civilised. Like the world hadn’t just thrown a tantrum. Sure it never lasted very long but the comfort you got from these little things was priceless.
Once you had finished the bed down stairs you and Jessie made your way over to the second house repeating the jobs, Smiling as you left. Hopefully the comfort the little things had on you would also reassure and comfort the new guys. If only just a little. Being out there for so long yourself you knew how hard it would be for them to adapt.
When Aaron had first brought you through the gates you thought you must have died. Everything was so….Normal, The houses all pristine. All happy smiling faces welcoming you to the neighbourhood. It had taken you a week to speak, Sometimes you still weren’t sure if it was real at all, Maybe this is where your consciousness goes when you were walking around as one of those dead but not dead freaks.
Walking back home you spotted Olivia, Saluting her “All done El capitan!” She laughed as you walked by purposely not slowing in case she thought of another job for you.
Sinking back into your couch and grabbing the book you had discarded earlier when the commotion at the gate started, You had been out hunting the day before, Which meant today you could take the next few days easy.
Reading the Hobbit for the millionth time, You easily slipped back into that familiar world, Only stopping when it got too dark to see the words on the page. The next day was much the same head straight back into your book escaping the real world as long as you could. Not realising how long you had been sat there, The sun was low on the horizon when you were pulled from your favourite book.
Opening the door you were greeted by a smiling Aaron. “Hey Y/N I can’t stay gotta get back to Eric, Deana is throwing a welcome party for the new guys, Since you’re our newest person besides them, She is pretty insistent you attend!”
Rolling your eyes “Insistent hm? I think I’ll give it a miss..But thanks for the invite!” Trying to shut the door hoping this conversation was over when the door was stopped on his foot.
“C’mon Y/N a little more socialising won’t kill you! You’ve managed to come out of your shell to me Jessie and now Olivia! A few more wouldn’t hurt right?”
The puppy dog eyes. How did every fucker in here know that was your weak spot.
“Ughhhhh Finee! Only if you're going to be there?” He nodded happily turning and stopping on the steps “See you at 8 wear something pretty” He winked, Taking off before you could change your mind.
Pretty? You weren’t even sure you owned anything that could be classed as pretty. Storming upstairs like a toddler having a tantrum you stripped quickly showering the sweat from yourself before stepping out wrapping the fluffy towel around you.
Walking over to your closet you pulled at the pile of dresses you had haphazardly thrown to the bottom of the closet when you had moved in, Never thinking in this new world there would be a place for pretty dresses.
Separating the sizes you pulled the few that would fit you to one side throwing the rest back in a heap again. Holding them up to your chest you decided on a black figure hugging one with a slit up one side. You guessed this would be kind of functional too. The slit certainly gave you enough room to move if you needed to. Picking up a pair of almost matching wedges you threw them both on the bed. Turning your attention to your hair as you tried to tame it.
It was a shame this new world didn’t include bloody straighteners. Groaning at yourself you couldn’t believe that had just crossed your mind. There were more important things to worry about besides your hair!
Running the brush through it once more, It would do. Your mother certainly would be happy. She loved your naturally wavy curls. You felt the twang in your heart as you remembered her, She had lasted 6 months after the fall before one wrong step sent her into the arms of a walker taking her from you. Rubbing your eyes gently. No you wouldn’t cry, If she was here now she’d be giving you an earful about it, Demanding you enjoy your night and your freedom.
Looking over at the tiny clock on the side 8:15 shit you were late. Pulling the dress over your head and heels on your feet you spared your reflection one last look smoothing the dress down on your stomach nervously. You can do this. It’s only people right?
Slowly descending the stairs and making your way out the door, Your feet dragging as you headed closer to the party. Stopping outside the door, Hearing the laughter from the other side.
Before you knew what you were doing you were spinning back around back up the street when a light fell over you.
“Sneaking away before they can see you huh Y/N?” Giving him a guilty look.
“I tried… Tried and failed. Oh well maybe next time!” You chuckled.
“Oh hey, Daryl right?” Turning and following Aaron’s gase you spotted him again. So the possum guy’s name was Daryl.
Giving him a small smile “I guess those kinda things aren’t for you either?”
Not quite looking at you he gave a non committal grunt.
Deciding to take Aaron’s earlier advice, Taking a deep breath.
“You eaten? I’m making spaghetti if you're hungry?” He shrugged again.
“C’mon, She makes some pretty serious spaghetti” Aaron teased, raising his eyebrow at you.
“Guess I could eat” He mumbled, still looking more at his feet than you. Aaron gave you a wink as he went back inside giving you both a wave before shutting the door.
“C’mon it’s this way. Just down from your house. I guess you could say we’re neighbours” He fell into step with you still staying quiet the entire way. As you opened the front door you looked backwards seeing Daryl looking between your open door and his own house.
“Come in, Food won’t be long!” Holding the door open Daryl finally made his decision, his feet carrying him swiftly up the stairs and inside. Flicking the lights on as you followed him.
“Kitchen’s that way, I’ll get you a drink. Whiskey ok?” He finally looked at you.
“You guys have Whiskey?” A shocked expression crossing his face. “Yeah i found it out there still unopened a while back, I was saving it for a special occasion, But shh don’t tell olivia or she’ll add it to that list of hers!” He gave you a small smile as you poured a glass for each of you passing it to him.
“Make yourself at home! I’ll get this started” He took a seat at the breakfast bar rolling the glass around in his hands whilst you busied yourself in the kitchen pulling out everything you would need and quickly getting it started.
Turning back to the breakfast bar you grabbed the loaf of bread slicing a few pieces and covering them in some oil and wild garlic you had found on your hunt yesterday. Popping them into the oven. He spoke again “Why’s it a special occasion?” He mumbled.
Grinning at him and taking a sip of your whiskey. “It’s not everyday I get to cook my serious spaghetti for just anyone!”
You could see the blush rising in his cheeks as he took a long swig of his whiskey. You leant over to top his glass off, Before turning to the cupboards and grabbing placemats, Plates and cutlery.
“Here let me do that” He tried as he moved towards you.
“Absolutely not! My mother would roll over in her grave if she knew i put a guest to work” Smiling sadly as your mother popped into your head again. Setting the table.
Turning your attention back to your meal you strained the pasta, Popping it into a dish before dishing up the sauce too. Taking them back to the table and returning to the oven to fish the garlic bread out.
Once everything was on the table you both took a seat. Reaching over you served him a large portion popping a few pieces of garlic bread on his plate before serving yourself.
“Dig in” You insisted before turning back to your plate. He watched you take the first few mouthfuls before reaching for his own fork.
After a few minutes of silence you spoke up again “So what do you think of Alexandria?”
“I think it ain’t real”
“I thought that for a long time, Hell I’m still not convinced and I’ve been here 3 months”
“So your not...uh...Not from here. Like the others”
“I’m from out there I guess. Asheville Georgia originally”
His eyes went wide at this “Me too, Sorta. Lived up near the mountains in Georgia”
A huge grin crossing your face “So we’ve always been neighbours then! How strange that we would meet here in DC! We must have been in the same places a thousand times! I used to go hunting in the mountains with my daddy”
He shrugged “Alotta my group from near there, We met in Atlanta……” he trailed off mumbling “Ya wouldn’t have noticed someone like me anyway”
Trying to get him to meet your eyes over the table, “Oh i most definitely would have noticed YOU Daryl”
He cleared his throat awkwardly, the tops of his ears peeking through his shaggy hair going beet red, his face lowered, he turned his attention back to his food.
Realising you had probably gone too far, Afterall you didn’t really know anything about this man, You had only seen him once yesterday morning before tonight, You weren’t even sure if he was single. Or straight for that matter. Trying to ease the awkwardness that had now descended in the room you tried a quick change of conversation.
“How are your group feeling about being here? Did you and your partner manage to sleep okay?” Hoping your not so subtle way of asking him if he were single wouldn’t be too obvious.
“Partner? Rick’s the Cop not me” He grumbled. Okay maybe not as obvious as you first thought.
You shook your head slightly, his obliviousness was strangely endearing, “Sorry no i meant your girlfriend, Wife” When he didn’t reply straight away you figured you must have missed the mark. “Boyfriend?” You questioned.
He snorted at this “I ain’t gay, Aint got no woman either” Not able to contain the gleeful smile on your face. Not that it would matter his eyes were fully trained on his meal as he started devouring it quicker, Reaching for his glass he drained the remaining dregs of the whiskey.
“Oh really? I thought for sure you’d have been snapped up by now!”
The blush returning to his face again he gave you a noncommittal grunt, Waiting a moment you realised he wasn’t going to answer. Not much of a talker. You were probably being too pushy, Small talk was hard to do after seeing the things he no doubt had seen out there, The things that man had probably had to do just as you had, Suppressing the shudder that threatened to run through you as your mind conjured up the images.
Standing quickly you walked back to the kitchen grabbing the bottle and refilling his glass and in turn your own.
Taking a deep gulp of the whiskey and then quickly finishing your own meal in silence, Both finishing your meal at the same time, Daryl raises the plate to his mouth to scrape the last bits of pasta into his mouth.
“Still hungry? There’s plenty more if you would like some more?”
Shaking his head no “ ‘M good.” He grunted. Taking his plate from him and collecting your own you took them into the kitchen dropping them in the sink you turned to retrieve the serving bowls, Almost crashing straight into Daryl, Your hands flinching up and landing on his chest steadying yourself.
He caught the bowl just in time surprisingly before any of the remaining food managed to spill on the floor.
Feeling the blush on your cheeks now as your hands lingered a moment longer than they should have done, Enjoying the firmness of his muscular chest under your fingers.
Dropping your arms to your sides. “I’m sorry! Thank you, Let me take that” Taking the bowl and turning your beetroot red face away from him you found a tupperware box in the cupboard filling it with the leftovers before turning to the sink and washing the dishes.
When you turned back to him he was watching you silently, Studying you it seemed.
Picking your glass back up you motioned to him “Should we finish the bottle or do you have somewhere to be?”
When he made no move to leave you picked up the bottle and motioned towards the living room letting him follow behind you, Taking a seat you finally kicked your uncomfortable heels off, Your feet instantly throbbing grateful to be out of their confines.
Propping your feet up on the coffee table in front of you, You sank back into the plush cushions behind you with a happy groan, Daryl stood awkwardly next to the couch glass hanging from his fingertips gasing at you with a softness in his eyes, The redness rising again in cheeks once he realised you had caught him gazing at you.
Smiling at his warmly “No need to stand on ceremony, Take a seat” Patting the chair next to you from emphasis. “More?” You asked, shaking the bottle at him. Taking it from you he filled his own glass before turning to yours and topping yours up also.
Clearing his throat awkwardly. “So...Are ya people here too?”
Dropping your eyes from him you shook your head sadly “Just me…They’re all gone….” The alcohol was taking over your words as you mumbled “Shouldn’t have been me…” Feeling a tear escape your eye as you thought about the countless lives you had watched taken before their time. People who would have been the greatest asset in this new world...Gone, Some died saving you. For what.. They should have let you die.
Pulling your mind from those thoughts, It didn’t do anyone any good to dwell! Wiping the tear quickly from your cheek grabbing your drink and gulping it down in one.
Turning back to Daryl you shifted a non convincing smile back to your face.
“How about you? Your group seems very close almost like a…”
Finishing your sentence for you “A family…...Ya know i look around and i think about the people that are gone, And the people that are still here and it aint right...Aint fair..But yer gotta keep goin for em”
Smiling at Aaron’s name “Yeah i wouldn’t be here either if it wasn’t for him and Eric, They’re good people. Most of the people here are good people. Too innocent to the world as it is yes, But good people..”
After sitting in silence for a few moments when Daryl broke the silence. “Well i should...I should go….They’ll be wonderin where i am”
Standing with him you walked him to the door.
“Thanks. Thanks for the-”
“Your welcome Daryl….Maybe you could come again? It was nice to have company” Smiling you opened the door for him letting him linger on the threshold.
He let out another noncommittal grunt as his eyes lingered on you. Leaning against the doorway you followed his eye line down your body, smirking slightly you swayed your hips watching as his eyes followed your movements.
Darting forward you swiftly kissed his cheek. “Goodnight Daryl” The blush on his face matched yours as he turned and stomped down the steps rushing towards his own house.
Daryl
Holy shit she was perfect.
Good food, Great Whiskey, Perfect body. That dress…. He had never met anyone like her before, She hunted too. But a woman like that would never look twice at a man like him.
A dirty good for nothing redneck asshole, He didn’t even know why she had been so...so nice to him tonight.
Carol was waiting for him at the door. Puckering her lips at him she made a lip smacking noise “Kiss Pookie” She giggled.
“Shut up” He mumbled, heading straight for the stairs to the basement. He needed to be alone for a little while as he processed these thoughts. Locking the door behind him he took a few strides over to the bed and flopped down on it.
In the dark of the room the thoughts became more obvious. Throwing an arm over his face he groaned. From the second he had first seen her standing so beautifully in front of Aaron’s house he had a tightening in his stomach. He couldn’t have said no to her invitation if he tried.
If Merle had seen him tonight, Blushing like a love sick little girl, He would have had a right laugh, It was like he could hear his voice. “Oh Princess, Got a crush? Man up Baby bro, Go get that cooch”
Did she mean it when she asked if he could come again? He shook his head. She couldn’t have, she was just being nice. His mind couldn’t stop thinking of the way she smiled at him, The way her hair fell in front of her eyes when she laughed, The curves of her as she swayed in the doorway…. His pants were tightening at the thought. He would have to take care of that before he could fall asleep.
Imagining his hands were roaming her body he pulled his throbbing member free, He wouldn’t last long as he thought about her hands on him, While his hands roamed up those beautiful milky thighs. That beautiful mouth gasping for him.
God that did it, Groaning he let himself spill into his hand, Grabbing a rag at the side of him he wiped it from himself, Ashamed he turned over throwing an arm over his face before drifting into an undisturbed sleep at the thought of her.
Over the next few weeks he saw a lot more of Y/N, As they were the two best hunters in Alexandria they were often thrown together to head out of the walls.
Even in her half ruined Jeans and Walker splattered Shirt she was still gorgeous. On days like today when they’re outside the walls he noticed how her face changed from the strained smile to a relaxed free look in her eyes.
She was scanning the underbrush now checking the traps they had left the week before. He felt the blush on his cheeks when he realised he had been caught staring again.
“Everything okay?” She asked spinning around in a circle, her body tensing looking for the Danger.
He cleared his throat, “Yeah all good. Anythin in the trap?” Blush rising in his cheeks at being caught staring. After that they headed back to the town in comfortable silence, Walking side by side both carrying the day's hunt, Y/N stopping every few minutes to forage things on the way.
Once back inside the walls, She came with him to his house as they always did now Only stopping to share the hunt with Olivia to share around the town, Y/N spent a lot more time around him and his group. Seeming to slot seamless into their messed up dynamic.
Just like every night she helped Carol prepare the dinner while he retreated to the porch, Cleaning his bow and bolts, The door open letting her musical laugh wash over him as he worked.
He could have listened to her all day, Before long he forgot what he was meant to be doing and just closed his eyes, Head leaning back against the house, Fully relaxed for the first time being in Alexandria.
He groaned inwardly opening his eyes to see who was disturbing his peace.
“Hey…” Rick took a seat next to Daryl on the porch nudging his knee and pointing towards the house.
“Y/N been spending a lot of time here...What’s going on with that?” He asked, giving you a knowing look.
“Why yer asking me?” Daryl huffed. “Shouldn’ yer be askin her”
Rick sighed before giving him another knowing look. “I seen the way you look at her, You sweet on her?”
Daryl wasn’t sure how to respond because of course he was ‘sweet’ on her but there was no changing who he was, A beautiful woman like that could never be interested in him, So there was just no point admitting his feelings to his friend as he knew you would never reciprocate those feelings.
Just as he opened his mouth to reply your beautiful song filled voice broke interrupted at just the right moment. His heart pounding, blush spreading across his face as you smiled at him, He was grateful for the darkness to hide this from you.
As he stood he felt her fingers brush his arm as she gave him an inquisitive look.
Y/N
You felt the electricity hum between you as your fingers found his arm, You had both been taking as many opportunities as possible to get closer to each other, So grateful when you were partnered together to hunt.

Also what scene do you love the most in May Your Forge Burn Bright?
This is a really tough question, there are so many scenes in MYFBB that make me so happy (I've been rereading this fic A LOT recently), so it's really a toss up between two specific scenes - Both of which have lovely artwork by @stardryad!
I'll put this under the cut because I'm absolutely adding in part of those scenes I love so much.
-> Want to know what I 💕love💕 about my fics? Check out these asks!
Scene #1 - Northern Lights & Fireflies (Star's art!)
The build up of a very romantic moment between these two characters made me proud to write. I'm not putting the whole scene here as it's super long, but here's a part that was nice (even if we really just wanted them to kiss right after)
Idle chatter and blowing smoke rings was nice and all, but as time went on it was interrupted by a different kind of light that didn’t come from the sky. A single flicker of gold. A firefly, one of nature’s most beautiful creatures. That one firefly landed on the edge of Bilbo’s pipe. Steadily moving the pipe from his mouth and eyeballing the firefly, both he and Thorin seemed rather focused on the bug that continued to flicker brightly. “Well, would you look at that…”
“You’ve made a friend.”
Bilbo had made more than just one friend that was present, at the very least.
“I’ve always loved fireflies, ever since I was a little fauntling. I used to chase them every evening until mother and father would call me home. I always wanted to follow them, to see exactly where they went whenever the day was done.” Bilbo sighed a bit, still eyeballing the single firefly that continued to crawl around his pipe.
“You never followed them?” It was an easy assumption for Thorin to make, but he too had a love for the little creatures. Perhaps his was a little sadder, or funnier depending on how you looked at it, but they were truly magical.
“No, I guess I just…” A snort came from the hobbit, watching as his new firefly friend took off. “...I was afraid of what they might lead me to. Mother spoke fondly of them. She said they would lead us to...” Bilbo trailed as his hazel eyes watched the firefly as it flickered before landing on Thorin’s bracer as the dwarf’s hands were propped on his knees.
“To where?”
A rush of red emerged onto Bilbo’s cheeks, burning the tips of his ears like fire. His fingers tightened on his pipe as he studied the firefly on Thorin’s bracer, dropping his chin to his knees that he’d pulled up closer to his chest. “Our greatest desires,” Bilbo breathed out, not willing to spare Thorin a proper glance.

Scene #2 - Love Declarations (Star's art!)
Honestly, I don't think I need to explain this one. FINALLY these two got it right. Of course it happened after a misunderstanding that was nearly the end of the two of them as Bilbo was trying to leave Ered Luin, but it all worked out in the end!
With his eyes screwed closed so tightly and keeping a sleeve over his face to protect himself from the rain, Bilbo didn’t see the oncoming form that got a firm grip on the front of his waistcoat and yanked him forward several paces and out of the way with a mighty yelp. It almost felt as if a wild animal had gotten a hold of him and Bilbo immediately tried to scramble, but the loud sound of part of a tree hitting the ground behind him had him prying open his eyes. Not to mention, he had been enveloped into a grip he was only vaguely familiar with.
Hazel eyes tried to fight against the rain, but the water stopped for just a moment as a coat was being held over his head to block some of the weather, and it allowed Bilbo to look at what could have been his end. Being crushed under the force of falling branches...and yet…? “Thorin!” How? Why? Did Bilbo actually get knocked around so hard that he was stuck in a dream?
No, dreams didn’t feel that warm.
“You’re a foolish creature and should know better than to storm off by yourself!” Thorin scolded over the howling of the wind, a scowl to his face as he looked just as Bilbo remembered whenever these moods struck the dwarf. Unpleasant. “You could have been killed, I promised to keep you safe…” And Thorin would not let that promise fall through.
“You came for me…” Bilbo murmured, though unable to be heard over the sounds of rain and wind. Thorin’s coat might have acted as a decent enough shield against the actual rainwater, but it was nothing for the sounds. “I was on my way back! I needed to apologize for what I said, and I’m not sure how else I can express that. From the bottom of my heart, I am so sorry-”
“Maralmizu, Bilbo."
Bilbo’s ears twitched before dropping. Now was not the time for secrecy, they could play that game once they were out of this vicious weather. Not to mention, Bilbo had been trying to give a heartfelt apology. An annoyed huff came from the hobbit as he continued to stare at Thorin, caring less and less about thunder and lightning as the seconds ticked by. “What does that even mean, Thorin?” Though asking a dwarf to reveal their secrets was like trying to move a mountain with your bare hands.
“I love you,” Thorin was far gentler this time than the scolding he had started with, staring at Bilbo’s wide hazel eyes. “And I have for some time now and just...too afraid to say it. Too afraid that being me might scare you off, and it did...but I-”
“Oh, you really are a stupid dwarf!” That bold Tookish behavior was finding its way to the surface once more, no longer hiding in fear from a few unsavory blokes from Bree. Wrapping his hands around both of Thorin’s braids and standing on his toes, it didn’t take much guidance from Bilbo’s small tug for their lips to meet with eyes fluttering closed.
It felt like a missing piece had finally been slotted into place.

Chapter 1: The company
Chapter 2: The Journey Begins
I pulled the rope, fastening my bag to one of the ponies. I didn't speak to anyone the next morning, besides no one was going to try to talk to me anyway. The company would only speak to their kin, and as I passed by heading to the front of the line I was given dirty looks. Except for Kili, he smiled and waved but his brother shoved his arm down, scolding him for even looking my way. I sighed and walked past some more dwarves, and each scowl gave me a funny feeling in my heart. I couldn't understand what it was, but it hurt deeply, like knives to my soul.
"Y/n." Gandalf greeted me with a smile, letting me pass by. "Once we're out of the shire, you will scout ahead and report anything back to us." He leaned down slightly, so I could only hear. "We're also making a bet on if Bilbo is coming, wish to participate?" I looked towards the rest, they all seemed to be having fun. The talk of the Hobbit showing up again brought them entertainment.
"No, we're heading into a dark path Gandalf. If I were to partake in their silly affairs I'd only ruin the fun." He groaned, standing up straight to get on his horse.
"You know, it won't hurt to have a little bit of fun. You'll be riding with Thorin, for now, being in the front will give you the advantage to take in your surroundings." He was right, in the front of the line I would be able to listen to the woods, there was something dark out there. Something will be following us, I don't know what, but whatever it is it's not good.
"Are you sure he's alright with the idea of me riding with him?" He grimaced at the question, I should have figured Thorin wasn't going to accept it.
"He's not happy, just don't antagonize him and you'll be alright." My very presence puts him on edge, speaking of the devil he came up behind me with those blue orbs piercing into mine. He didn't say a word to me, he just climbed onto his pony looking ahead. Hesitantly I go to climb on but his hand stretched out, he was waiting for me to take it.
"Hurry up we don't have all day." He growled, quickly I pulled myself on and sat in front of him. I gasped at his warmth, it felt nice with his chest against my back. "Lead." His gruff voice made me shiver, I kicked the pony lightly and she went off. We made our way down the path, passing multiple Hobbits that were nearby. One was a child, a small girl about half the size of me. She waved with a wide grin, I couldn't help but wave back eagerly. It's been a while since I've seen children, my kind barely has any men around. The cold blast killed most of our soldiers who were men, so not a lot of children are born these days. Let's just hope those reports will save my people, and we can have a fresh start with alliances. "So, does all of your kind have wings like yours?" His question surprised me, he wanted to know more about my kin? Why? Was he planning for war?
"Why do you want to know? Are you planning to kill us all already?"
"I am just curious about your race, I haven't heard much about it. From the tales my grandfather and father told me, most don't have wings unless they're born with it."
"Hm." I knew all about their race, and the fact that he wanted to know more about mine intrigued me. "Some have wings, it depends on if you have a certain gene in your blood."
"How big is your homeland?"
"It was huge, bigger than the city of Erebor. Yet where we live now, is small considering your kind took our home." I snarled, he took a deep breath, probably to calm himself. His hands then gripped my cloak, and he pulled me against his chest roughly.
"I suggest you don't annoy me, for I won't be responsible for what happens to you on this trip." He was threatening me, I bet if we were attacked he'd leave me for dead.
"And I suggest you let go of me, I won't kill you but I think you'll be fine with a few fingers missing." I turned my head to face him, he was extremely close, our noses almost touching. Reluctantly he leaned back slightly, releasing me from his hold.
"I can't wait to reclaim my homeland, then I'll have you out of my sight. I won't have to deal with your kind anymore, your murderers. I don't know what Gandalf was thinking."
"He was thinking, that your weak, too weak to take down a dragon. If you want me to help you, I recommend you be friendly for I can easily leave you behind. I'll find a way into that mountain myself, so watch your words Thorin Oakenshield." He went to protest but was interrupted by shouting, it was Bilbo running from the entrance of the shire. We were in the middle of the woods now, I pull on the reigns to stop from going any further. Bilbo ran towards us, waving the contract in his hand, panting heavily.
"I signed it." He exclaims, panting heavily as he handed the contract to Balin. Balin pulls out a monocle to check the paper. It looked like Bilbo had brought everything from home with him.
"Everything appears to be in order. Welcome, Master Baggins, to the company of Thorin Oakenshield." Balin smiles, and surprisingly it didn't disappear when his eyes met mine. The warm smile made me happy, didn't he hear the rumors people had spread about my kind? Why was he so nice to me?
"Give him a pony," Thorin ordered, nudging me to keep going which I obey.
"No, no, no, no. That-That won’t be necessary. Thank you. I’m sure I can keep up on foot. Yeah, I’ve done my fair share of walking holidays, you know? Even got as far as Frog Morton once." Bilbo refuses, but they didn't listen to his cries. Suddenly two of the dwarves grab hold of his arms, pick him up, and placed him directly on Minty. As we all rode along in the woods, I could hear the dwarves talking to each other.
"Come on, Nori! Pay up!" Oin demanded, the sound of coins clinking together reached my ears.
"The rest of the dwarves took gambles on if Mr. Baggins would show," Thorin explained, however, I already knew this due to Gandalf.
"What about you Thorin? Did you participate?" I said looking at him, he shook his head laughing slightly.
"I don't participate in silly affairs, though if I did I would've guessed he wouldn't have come." I can see how that's true, sometimes people just don't want to leave home. They'd rather stay in their safe comfy beds, and I was one of them. "You seem deep in thought." My cheeks turned red as I realized I had been staring at him the entire time.
"I'm alright." Clearing my throat awkwardly only to hear Bilbo shouting about something else.
"Uh-wait, wait. Stop! Stop! We have to turn around." Thorin groaned and I slowed the pony down, waiting to hear Bilbo's excuse.
"What on earth is the matter?" Gandalf wondered, he was riding a larger horse than the rest of us.
"I forgot my handkerchief." We can't just stop and go back because of some handkerchief, it would only be a waste of time.
"Here! Use this." Bofur rips off a bit of cloth from his robe and throws it to Bilbo, who looks at it with disgust.
"Move on!" Thorin announces, and I continue down the path of our journey. Later that night, we stopped by the entrance of a small cave. I slept close to the edge of the entrance, my wings keeping me warm and hidden from the others. That's when I heard shuffling behind me, it was Thorin setting down his sleeping bag.
"Did you miss me already?" I joked, making him roll his eyes annoyed.
"One of us has to watch you, you might try and kill us in our sleep." I just turned back around, curling back up into a small ball. It was colder outside than I expected, I should've brought warmer clothes. I shivered as a gust of wind blew our way, it took a while for me to fall asleep. The cold wasn't helping me at all, but I finally managed to sleep into unconsciousness. That is until I woke up to howls, not just any normal howls, wargs. I sat up, searching the area, getting ready to strike if I had to. The orcs were far off into the distance but I saw them, I could feel the evilness radiating off of them.
"You think that’s funny? You think a night raid by orcs is a joke?" Thorin yelled making me turn to him, he stood up abruptly, his fur coat missing. That's when I realized it was on me, he had laid his coat on me to keep me warm but why? What was his reason for being kind to me?
"We didn’t mean anything by it," Kili stated, looking down at the ground in shame.
"No, you didn’t. You know nothing of the world." Thorin angrily walks off, I had an urge to go try and cheer him up. He did give me his coat, after all, I could at least do something nice. Slowly I made my way over to him, he hadn't sensed my presence yet.
"Thorin?" I called letting out a small yawn. He didn't face me, instead, he kept his gaze pit on the horizon.
"Go away." He ordered but I refused to listen, my feet made their way next to him. He scowled at me, but said nothing else, he only just crossed his arms. His hand caught my attention, it was bigger than most, his fingers were twice the size of mine. Without thinking I tugged on it, making his eyes avert to me. I placed my hand against him, comparing the sizes. "Y/n?" He mutters, wondering what I was up to.
"Your hands, they're so much bigger than mine. For such tiny men, you certainly have large fingers, it's fascinating." I looked up at him, his eyes widened at my comment. "You know as a child I used to wonder what the tiny men of our world looked like, I tried to learn everything about dwarves that I could. My kingdom's library had multiple books about your culture, I have to admit it was interesting to learn about your courting styles."
"You know of our courting ritual?"
"Of course, I know everything about each race. I was a very strange child at that age, yet one question remained unanswered. Why do dwarves keep their hair long?" He smiled at my curiosity, those deep blue ocean eyes stared at me in adoration. Though those furious eyes returned, and he angrily pulled his hand away.
"You shouldn't be asking questions about courting, it's not as if anyone would marry your kind anyway." He lifted his hand, glaring at it in disgust. "Now I have to wash away the filth you have spread upon me." My heart broke a little as if a piece had shred from the flesh. As he stormed off I wondered what ran through his mind, he was the sweet innocent man a few seconds ago. What made him irritated with me? Thorin went back to the place we had been sleeping, and he grabbed his cloak moving to the other side of the camp. Each dwarf turned their head my way, and only three of them grinned at me.
"I'll keep watch," I spoke as I returned to my make-shift bed. It would be better if I stayed away from the others, at least that's not what Kili thought. Cause a few seconds later he plopped down right next to me. "What are you doing? Won't the others scold you for sitting next to me?"
"Who cares, they can argue all they want. No one should be alone, I'll keep watch with you." My heart swelled at his kindness, why was he being so nice to me? Did he believe me than those foolish rumors the others had heard? He frowned slightly, he was serious now. "Are you ok Y/n?"
"Of course, why wouldn't I be? I've dealt with stubborn dwarves before believe me. Their rudeness hardly bothers me anymore." I lied, staring down at my hands. How could this world think such cruel thoughts about my kind, why did Thror have to lie about us? Kili placed his hand on mine to try and calm me, and lightly he caressed it with his thumb.
"You know not all of us hate you, me, Balin, and my brother Fili we know the truth. I told my brother what you told me, and he sort of believes it. You don't seem like the angry ravaging digonisks we've heard about, and besides the reports in those mountains is evidence that your kin is innocent. Speaking of Balin however, he wanted me to tell you that when you get a chance he wishes to speak with you." I glanced over the white-haired dwarf who gave me a small smile. I wonder what he wants to talk to me about? Maybe his politeness was just a ruse to kill me in secret, what if Kili is doing the same? Ever since I've joined the company I haven't thought of the consequences, I treat them as if they're normal men. I have to be more careful if I am to get to the mountain. "You know you should probably get some sleep, we'll need those wings again."
"No, they're orcs not far, they're watching us. I need to be awake just in case they decide to come our way. I appreciate the gesture, sleep Kili, you and your kin are the most important people here after all." He opened his mouth to protest, but kept quiet and snuggled up in his bed. I kept my eyes on the frontier, watching as the orcs scattered away but I knew they would be back, they always come back.
~♪♠♪~
The harsh wind blasted against me, the building fell apart from the ice that covered the bricks. Shouts were heard from all over, but the only I could focus on was my mother's. My legs hurt bad, but her condition was worse, there was an ice shard in her side. It no longer looked like liquid water, instead, it was nothing but a melting ice block of blood.
"Mommy!" I reached out for her, my hand reaching out to try and save her from the man that stood close. His sword was raised ready to strike, and that's when I saw his face. Thorin Oakenshield, the leader of our company.
"Die filth!" His sword came crashing down hard, and as it decapitated her head I shot up. My chest beating fast, it was just a dream, just a dream. Most dwarves were asleep, the only one awake was Kili who was taking over my shift. I had fallen asleep, how could have been so stupid? He could've hurt me, or worse slaughtered me like the rest of my family. My body trembled as he came close to me, worry showing in his brown eyes.
"Kili stay back!" I warned, he raised his hands as a symbol of peace.
"I won't hurt you, I promise...are you alright?" I was shaking violently, and it wasn't because of the wind that blew our way. "Are you cold? Here." He sheds his cloak going to hand it to me but I shake my head.
"N-Nightmare." That was all I managed to get out, he dropped the piece of clothing on the floor and slowly made his way over showing that he had no weapons. When he was close enough he wrapped his arms around me, making me gasp. I didn't hug back, for I was waiting for any sign that this wasn't a nice gesture. It didn't come, he just pulled me closer, and I have to admit the hug was very helpful. I listened to his breathing, and eventually, it helped my heart stop beating at a rapid speed. He smelled of sweat and pine wood, surprisingly it was a soothing smell.
"Want to talk about it?" He whispered, pulling back to look at me as his thumb rubbed softly against my skin as a way to calm me down.
"No, it was just a silly dream. It's not as if you would care anyhow."
"I do care, and just in case another agonizing fantasy comes across your mind I'll sit right here. So if you do have another nightmare I'll be here to help." He gently pulled me into his side, which I hesitantly accepted, and soon I went senseless, succumbing to the darkness.
For the next few days when I wasn't flying above them to keep watch, I rode with Thorin. The more we rode together, the more he didn't mind it. Soon it was like second nature to him, and every morning when it was time to leave he would hold out his hand to help me on the pony. Although he was extra grumpy today as we continued our journey in the woods while riding in the torrential rain.
"Here, Mr. Gandalf? Can’t you do something about this deluge?" Dori begged, but to no avail, nothing could be done. Well at least for them, considering I was a dragon slayer and immune to fire. One of my abilities was magic, and that magic included creating ablaze. I felt Thorin shiver from behind me, and I felt bad. I never did thank him for letting me use his cloak the other night.
"Thorin take the reigns," I ordered, turning around on the horse, immediately he grabbed the reigns as I let go.
"What on earth do you think your doing woman?" He growled, his eyes piercing into my own. Resting a hand upon his chest, he blushed slightly at the contact I used just a little bit of my charms to summon some heat. "What curse are you putting on me? Get your filthy hands off of me!"
"It's not a curse, it's a spell to keep you warm you ass. Now hold still or I just might burn you." He growled and lifted his head to try and see in front of him, I wasn't that tall. After a few seconds of straining his neck to see, he eventually rested his chin on the top of my head lightly. "I'm not your headrest you know."
"Well, I can't see around your thick skull."
"It's not that big! I'm shorter than you!"
"Shorter, but your head is certainly wider. Are you sure you have a brain in there?" I burned him slightly, making him wince.
"Keep talking 'Oh great one' and see where it gets you. Your lucky I'm even giving you warmth, I could just keep it all to myself." I returned the heat to normal and leaned my head on his chest. His breathing went rigid for a second, then slowed down but his heartbeat sped up.
"...What other powers do you have?" He asked, moving closer to my hand to get warmer. I slipped it down to his side, making him jump. "Watch it."
"Other than fire, I have a vast amount of strength. I could rip a tree out of the ground, second I can fly at fast speeds while spreading my wings. Soldiers with wings are called our airborne army, they attack from above and can kill dragons a lot easier. Last but not least, only the royal line can take on the form of a dragon. At least we used to, The Power of The Black Dragon was lost long ago. It is passed down from generation to generation, but the Queen with the ability died along with it." My mother, just a year before my coronation to take on my birthright was gravely injured from the frozen blast caused by men. She passed away, I never got to tell her that I loved her. The last thing I ever said to her was 'I'm scared'. Though I will never forget her last words, 'don't take revenge.'
"How many more are there?"
"Once there were millions of us, and now because of people like you, there is only 1,000. I hope your happy, cause soon we'll be extinct."
"No, cause soon you'll get those reports. And you'll show the world the mistake we caused." He whispered, his comment made my heart swoon. Had he said what I thought he had confessed?
"Thank you." It was all I could say, I felt him smile as he wrapped his arms tightly around me. He was trying to keep me warm like I was doing to him, perhaps he's not like the monster from my dreams.

DA asks 1, 28, 60, 73? 👀
Hey, thanks for the first ask!
How did you get into Dragon Age?
Ah, this is something I like to tell every now and then. My dad actually introduced me to Dragon Age! I always watched him play Origins and 2 on our old Xbox 360, what can I say, it was entertaining. Especially watching him fight those dragons... I can't recall how old I was, but given that I don't remember it all too vividly, I was pretty young. And, yeah, that's right, that would make me still a minor now! I feel like that's not something widely known, mostly cause I didn't think it mattered much, but turns out, people think I'm an adult. I guess I hardly see anyone my age in the fandom... Anyways, back on topic! Yeah, watched my dad play the Dragon Age games as a kid, though he stopped letting me watch after sexy time with Morrigan, lol. A bit after he finished the games though, Dragon Age: Inquisition was announced, and I was so excited to finally play a game for myself. I was a huge LoTR junkie back then, and I still am, so that's why such a young girl was interested in such a game. So yeah, my Dad got me into Dragon Age. Though he doesn't play games anymore, he still will smile when he sees me playing Dragon Age, and ask a few questions. Just something really old that bonds us.
Inquisitor’s feelings on being the Herald of Andraste?
Ooh, this is a complicated one. Might wanna sit down with a cup of tea! Karrie's beliefs are complicated as well. Her family is considered klana, or, traditional. They still like to hold themselves as warrior caste, and they still respect the Stone and the ancestors. But, with so much time on the surface, they've also slowly converted to Andrastians. They just don't follow the Chantry though. Prefer to worship the Maker in their own ways. And most recently, the family began to recognize Avvar gods/spirits. Or perhaps just Karrie and her father. They spent a lot of time with the Avvar, and saw things they deemed impossible. With that being said, Karrie's faith is mixed, but unfalteringly devout. She believes the Stone, the Maker, Avvar gods, whatever divine being out there, guides her. So, Herald of Andraste? Not a title she wanted, or is willing to accept. Though she is devout in her belief of the Maker, she feels it only heretical to claim to be his or Andraste's chosen one, their herald. She's sort of in the middle on that matter. She won't deny it, won't confirm it. Because she'll never have a way of knowing. Better safe than sorry, wouldn't want to upset the Maker by falsely claiming to be his chosen one, or denouncing him.
Who do you wish had been given more story?
Cole. At least, more story in game. I don't really read the novels/comics, but he probably gets more story in there. But damn it, Bioware! Put your lore in the game! I feel Cole didn't get enough in game. Like holy shit he's an anomaly. He just felt rather... irrelevant to the story, y'know? Huge potential there.
Favorite OST song(s)?
Ah, you can't do this to me. Can't make me choose just one! Okay, I'll settle for hmm two. My favorite would either be Sera Was Never, or Lost Elf. Sera Was Never is just such a catchy tune, and such a good song! It captures her perfectly, and it cheers me up when listening. She totally deserved her own song. And Lost Elf... cause Lost Elf. If you've ever listened to it you'd know. I'll be scrolling through Youtube at 3 am, and it pops up in my recommended. I debate myself in my head for 5 minutes, I say, "Don't listen to it, you'll cry" and then I listen to it and I cry myself to sleep. It's the never ending cycle. It just brings back so much, makes me hurt thinking about it. It is perhaps the most beautiful score the game has to offer. With that being said, I actively avoid it but I love it at the same time. Oh god now it's playing in my head.
Edit: I also love the main Descent theme! Reminds me of the Hobbit movies, and their epic scores of dwarf music. Man I love dwarves.

She’s the man
fili x reader
Also please send in prompts, it would help dearly. You know like lines like "uhh what exactly do they do? kick names , kick ass."
Summary: Gandalf tells you to hide the fact you are women ;to allow you come with the company without Thorin rejecting you because you are woman. I have seen this idea a bunch of imagines so I decided I'll take a kick at it , making it my own. Word count:2464
You had been apart of the company a couple of weeks , nine months now, yet your identity is still hidden. You barely talked to anyone; if you did it was to Gandalf or Bilbo. You knew Bilbo was smart he knew something was up with you, every month there was a couple of days where your face screwed up frowning ,or you clutched you're stomach. Bilbo was no idiot, he took in the small details, not bathing at the same time, always wearing a hat ,scarf and oversized clothing.
He decided to confront Gandalf about it, in which Gandalf brought you over and you told Bilbo your secret , and concluding that he was sworn to secrecy. This caused you to grow close to Bilbo, he would take watch when you bathed so no one saw you , you would ride next to him on the pony, and you would make fun of of the dwarves behind there backs.
The Two princes caught on about your close bond with the hobbit and decided they need to confront you. The two princes stood behind you smirking as you bent down to grab your bedroll packing it up. Oh you just know they stared at your ass , even though you were a 'man'. You had chosen the name Jared , as your male name , you didn't know why , you knew how to read and you weren't a moose. Yeah.
"Mister Jared?" Kili has called out , making you stand up right facing them, towering them slightly , because simply you were a human. You had just finished packing your bedroll ready to be on the road again when they had gained your attention. You had nodded trying not use your horrible excuse of a mans voice.
They had taken in a big breath, before fili spoke "uh.. we were wondering if you and Bilbo were um-""are you fucking master boggins?" You had gasped at their question, and their use of words , "why would you think that?!" You had whispered shouted at the princes , as there flashes flashed red , well mostly fili , kili was smirking. "Well you always take him to keep watch when you bath so..." he had grinned at you, you scoffed.
"Bloody hell, maybe I just don't want prople seeing my body, it's called privacy." You spoke quietly not trying to draw the others attention.
"Why wouldn't you be comfortable?" Kili had continued not convinced really, he was really annoying you now. "Because I don't have the typical male body-""how so, you don't have breasts.” you had gasped "maybe I don't want dwarven princes seeing my cock out , then bloody wanking to my big ass cock." And with that you walked away with your bag hoping on your pony ready to continue your journey, leaving the princes stunned.
Now you were at Rivendell, you were finally able to bathe in peace and walk around in a elven dress and no one would recognise you. You and Bilbo had decided to share a room, he had been writing in a book on the bed as you went to bathe. However once you had gotten out wearing just a robe ; Bilbo was no where to be found. So you had dressed in a mint green dress that Elrond had given you , knowing your secret. You would have worn your own clothes, but Bilbo had taken them to wash them for you , what a nice hobbit he was.
You were very much grateful for the friendship that bloomed between you had Bilbo. You could not deny the attraction you felt towards the golden haired prince, you had no chance he liked women but you had to be a man. You wish he could get to know you , y/n a women , That had been admiring him the whole journey.
So now you were in search of a little hobbit , in a fancy dress which showed more of a bust than you were use to, you know being a 'man' and all you didn't show anything. You spent around an hour searching for him; before you found him at a fountain with your clothes all laid out to dry.
Unknowingly to you two dwarven princes were following you , in awe of your beauty , hiding in bushes and such. "Bilbo!" You had called out , making the hobbit turn and smile at you. "Look at you all dressed up!" He had called, you smiled widely at him before bending over picking him up placing him on your hip like a toddler, as he had just bunched up all the clothes placing them in a bag which you took and placed on your shoulder.
Whilst fili had whispered to his brother , "I know that bottom, kili." Kili had looked at him confused. "I don't know who's it is but I know it." The brothers stayed hid thinking where they could know you from, surely they would remember such a beautiful girl , they had thought.
You had headed back to your room to change , sending Bilbo to dinner to make sure no one went looking for you , he would just tell them 'no he is just getting dressed he had just bathed he will be here soon.' But it was too late Thorin had already sent fili to your room to fetch you. You were half dressed, in your trousers and undershirt which was a thin white vest which showed you definitely had breasts even if they were small or huge, no hat ,hair down.
Knock, Knock, Knock. You had assumed it was Bilbo telling you to hurry up, he always knocked just in case , but he seen you in a vest and pants before so it was fine. "Come on." You had raised your voice so Bilbo could hear. The door creeked open , and the shuffling of feet was heard soon after a gasp. "Um..excuse me but why are you wearing Jareds cloth- wait." You had turned around to see a red faced Fili , you gasped throwing on your shirt.
He thought about it and it all made sense. "You are Jared. " he spoke you nod, "yeah, um but that's not my name, it's Y/n." You spoke looking down at the floor in embarrassment. "Y-your a women..why lie?" He asked still shocked , he knew he liked you since he met you , but it wasn't common , well it was rare for a male to like another male so he pushed it off. "Your uncle wouldn't have let me come, plus if anything it was Gandalf's idea." You sat on the end of the bed , Fili shut the door , and walked to next to you taking a seat.
"Is that why you would only talk to Bilbo rarely anyone else? Because he knew?" He questioned you, you had simply nodded. "So are you going to keep this a secret still? I don't think Uncle will abandon you on the side of the road. The company like you, plus if he tries to kili and I will hide you in our packs. Mahal I will develop ale belly over night just to hide you like that.." You giggled at his words, small blush on your cheeks , he smiles at you.
"I guess ;I must now." And with that he grabbed you hand pulling you up , saying we already late for dinner and there won't be any left if we do not hurry. He lead you down the stairs and to the company who were sat at two tables, they all had looked at you and fili confused. "Who's the lass,Fil." Bofur had shouted with a smirk looking at your interwoven hands, which you tried to drop but Fili kept a hold. "You already know y/n." Gandalf looked mortified , looking towards Thorin , who's lips twitched up for a second.
He wasn't stupid just like Bilbo he had figured out that you were not a man, he didn't push it because you stayed out of his way and in fights you tried your best even though you had barely any experience. You didn't know why Gandalf had requested you on this trip, nor did anyone else apart from Gandalf who forced you on this trip.
The company had sat staring still until Bilbo stood up, throwing his arms up in the arm. "You bloody idiots , it's Jared ," he had shouting , as the dwarves whipped back to you eyeing you up and down. " you have a cock?" Kili had enquired only for Dwalin to slap him in the upside of the head. You pull fili by the hand sitting down on the next empty seat. "Y/n been pretending to be male this whole time, so that you would treat her the same, I did not want you treat her like a burden, when she is not." Gandalf spoke up making the dwarves turn their attention to the wizard , no reaction at first.
Well that was until Fili stood up from beside you with a cup of ale ,"I say we welcome her , as we did before." "Aye to that." And with that they drank.
That started your friendship with the oldest prince ;however it was not like the one you had with Bilbo. When you had all been kidnapped by Goblins he had shield you from the whips , and once you were running to escape he had grabbed your hand pulling you along with him.
Then when the orca had ambushed you he became your shield again , even though you told him not to and tried to push past him but he would not budge. After that the eagles came he had almost suffocated you , to hold you , trying stop you falling off the eagle. Which you would not have.
I am not joking when I say this , when Beorn started chasing you he had thrown you over your shoulder , Turning into sonic to get you to safety. This is exactly what Gandalf meant about being treated like a burden, you didn't know that wasn't why he was doing it.
Anyways you all had been captured by the elves of the Greenwood realm , and you were stripped down to your underclothes not the dwarves, thrown in cells but then Bilbo had broke you all out. Your vest see through from the water , as you out swam the orcs. Legolas the kings son stopped watching you all go. You had turned around in the barrel "get shagged by an octopus, princess!" You shouted towards him, you were pissed off by the fact they had stripped you to such a level. He had looked at you like a little puppy turning his head side to side, you turned away to smirking company.
"She's got a mouth on her lads." Bofur had shouted out smirking, not that you saw kili or some of the other dwarves raising their eyebrows suggestively. He sent them a look that said fuck off. As you reached land stepping out of the barrels soaking wet, hair sticking to you , clothes sagging down due to the water weight.
You had noticed your problem moving your hands ove the fabric of your vest ,which your nipples were visible, crossing your arms. No one had any coats as they were only stripped of them. Fili had walked over to you ready to strip himself of his tunic, you shook your head no. "I'll be fine once it dries, don't worry." You had spoken quietly to the dwarf . Before he could say anything a barge man had appeared firing his bow at the rock kili held in defence.
"Do it again and you're dead." Damn his voice sounded like pure golden domination, and stern. Fili had placed himself in front you, you had groaned at his action, which he ignored.
Soon enough you were all upon his barge, only then did you confront fili, who left his injured brother to follow you around like a lost puppy. He stood close next to you,you could almost feel the heat radiating of him ,oh how you wished for warmth. Goosebumps mapped down your bare arms like snow, even the barge man had looked at you in concern. You glanced at fili's frowning face, "Fili?" he had turned to look at you letting out an quiet 'hmm?' you had broken his thoughts of you,but you didnt know that."why do you seek to protect me ,when I dont need protecting. I thought you knew I didnt want to be treated like a burden." you had whispered not wanting the company hearing your petty moans.
Fili took his gaze off the icy lake ,looking at you like he didnt know what to say,he knew a bit over the top."its not like that, you aren't a burden...its just that..uhm"his flashes lightly with a blush. "fee,please..." your tone sincere and worried as you turned to him gripped his rough hands, you couldnt believe you had touched him you go got move your hands but again he keeps them in his hands. "the reason I'm like that is because you are my one y/n,its my duty to keep you safe, even if it costs my own life." he had looked away in embarrassment back to the cold water ,but you hand moved so you were directly infront of his lips ,pressing yours to his ,delivering a short kiss.
"if you die then I die with you,now keep me warm with those strong arms." and with that a chuckle left his mouth quiety as he cupped your cheeks pressing his lips to yours like you did he gasps in shock after. "god you are freezing, darn lucky im wearing two tunic?"
"you are wearing two? I would have took one earlier ,Ijust didnt want you to be cold. seriously everyone has seen my nipples through my vest." you groaned in annoyance but fili soon shedded one of his tunics putting on you ,you thank him before he wraps his muscular arms around your body,as you both look out to the lake. However the whole company had watched in awe.
You already know you have the princes and Thorin you also know fili gonna get hella jealous when you have to pretend to court bard in about 0.03 seconds.

Collision part 2
Thorin x modern human reader
Woo weee I Finnally finished it drove me crazy putting it together but I did it i hope you like this is gonna get a little bit into Thorin's thoughts a bit it was very challenging but I gave it my best sorry for any misspelling punctuations ect let me know what you think but :)
If somebody would have told you that when you woke this morning that you would be sent to middle earth (in the nude no less) sitting around a campfire with 13 dwarves a hobbit and a wizard you'd probably laugh in their faces and tell him to lay off the weed. Right? Right But here you are....
A long night it was indeed....
"Who are you .."
You were completely tongue-tied your mind buzzing Thorin's gaze never wavered he was very direct and to the point and very much in your bubble (not that you minded much )his head cocked one side then to the other. He practically towered over you ..wait what?
he's much taller then I expected you thought did I shrink or something?
What seemed like hours but only a minute you Finally snapped out of it
"Well....My name is y / n and I'm not from this world I -..." And that's when fili and kili butted their way in conversation literally pushing there uncle to the side oh boy ..if looks could kill but surprisingly Thorin remained quite allowing the boys to take over and boy did you get an ear full..
"Where did you come from?" "Well I-"
"Are you a witch of some sort ? " You scoffed at that. "No but-"
"What are you?" "Human the last time i checked"
"Why is your hair that color?" orie piped in wait what ? Oh yeah the bright h/c highlights you giggled to yourself.
Well at least the shock of your naked arrival has passed..
"Where are your clothes " "do you not wear any where you come from not very proper for a lady you know dori added "Well I-"
Ok guess not still on that I see...
The questions just kept on coming And these where just a few.
"OK ok you guys one at a time your giving me whiplash" you giggled as you looked at kili and fili's eager faces the rest of the company just as eager
"Well as I was saying I'm not from middle earth and no I'm not a witch but one did send me here and trust me that was a shock on it's own And yes I did have clothes to start and bag now that I'm thinking about it where on earth-"
As if on que a black camping pack fell out out of sky landing at your feet
Oh My God Really you send this to me now sigh oh. Well beggars cant be choosers ..
You snatched it up and looked through it sure enough was a few modern day things to not only get you through this out of this world trip but a little proof of your world to show to the company and yes clothes!!!
After you dressed in real clothes you continued on explaining the basic of your world showing the company a few modern day electronics from your bag. Giggling and smiling at their reactions
All the while You couldn't help but notice how quiet thorin was he hasn't said a word since as he lingered in the back he appeared to be listening but his eyes said something entirely different hmmm you thought was he offended from before you hoped not if there was anyone that you needed trust and approval from it was him
What was going on in that head of his.
Thorin pov
Thorin watched you quietly listening intently but yet his mind was at War. He was very curious about you cautious but curious never in all his years has he ever met or seen a woman like you before never had really cared but there was something about you ..... Something stirred within him the moment you appeared but he couldn't place it.. It unnerved him
You talk differently than the human maidens he's seen or come across you were quite small for a human reaching just under his chin but there was a fire in you that demanded to be seen and heard. He could hear it in your voice he could see it in your eyes. Needles to say he was very observant.
Your hair was the most striking feature to him never in his life has he seen such hair color on any race in Middle Earth it intrigued him.
He continued to watch you as you proceed on talking and passing strange contents from your bag from the sky with a big smile on your face giggling at the reactions of the company
Seeing this His thoughts Drifted back to you and the first thing you said to him
His name.. It was a whisper but he heard you loud clear
you spoke it as if you knew him your eyes lit up at the same time then you smiled it was bashful yet bright as the morning sun . It was a sight that nearly warmed his heart he shook his head the image of you on top of him naked those eyes that smile the way his name rolled off your tongue your face so close to his he couldn't move he couldn't breathe still all to fresh in his mind frustrated and confused for thinking such things..
ridiculous he thought. Standing up abruptly pushing his way to the front of the company
"I think that's enough for tonight. We have a long journey ahead of us. We'll discuss this in the morning I'll take first watch" and with that said and one last look at you Thorin turned and perched himself on a slight cliff rock a small ways from company gazing out into the distance .
To be continued....
