can you imagine what an absolute dumpster fire gta v would be if simeon had sent lamar to michael’s house instead of franklin?

it’s fairly obvious that franklin is written to be michael’s perfect mouldable protege in the beginning: tough upbringing, seemingly doomed to a life of crime, with a level-headed pragmatism and empty, materialistic streak. and what is lamar but the trevor to franklin’s michael?

so how would michael react to someone who reminds him of his psychotic old running buddy so fiercely? fuck, how would trevor eventually react to this young, dumb and full of. uh. nerve? and cockiness, and unpredictable violence?

i always found it compelling how trevor treats franklin a little bit like Michael’s Newest Victim when they first meet. how much more insane would it be, if he saw himself in him?

You have to swallow a couple of times after reading Trevor's letter. You really were an asshole, huh? If he's being honest, your accusations were false, and if you'd taken just a while to calm down and think it through, you might have realized that. You could have walked away. You didn't have to beat him and leave him lying in the alley like a stranger.

Your bad choices led Trevor to prison and made you lonely again. Well fucking done.

The least you can do for both your sake is to help him.

You tear away a page from a notebook and write a reply, short and straight to the point.

I'll come pick you up, just let me know the time. I'm sorry for what I did, Trevor.

You include the motel's phone number, address, and your room number — still the same place you were staying at with Trevor, just a smaller room — and mail the letter the next day.

The next time he writes, it's just his release date and time, and you make the life-changing three hour drive to the prison in the small hours of December 5th, 1985.

Summary, although you can just read the whole thing in the tag #interactive story: paths - Michael and Trevor met like in canon - They had to abandon Trevor's (boss's) plane because they killed the guy that Michael stole the guns from and the guy's partner got pissed off - Michael and Trevor became friends and robbed gas stations etc. for money for a while - The readers accidentally made Michael homophobic - Michael and Trevor found regular work (selling drugs counts) - Trevor suggested they get an apartment since they are staying, Michael agreed - Michael noticed Trevor looking at a guy -> Trevor admitted he'd been selling drugs at a gay bar -> Michael realizes Trevor is gay but he doesn't admit it - They fought, Michael beat Trevor up and left him lying in an alley (breathing and conscious) (the readers didn't get a choice here since I am evil, there was a vote on whether to continue the story or not) - Trevor disappeared and sent Michael a letter from prison (this is in the previous part)
