Opal and Jenny continued to be friends both at work and outside of it. They especially needed support now with their family situations.
Opal didn't want to complain about her son when Jenny was still grieving after her husband. She avoided bringing it up and instead tried to elevate the atmosphere by asking her friend about the kids.
Only once Jenny started bragging about her son and how much he's been doing to help her and the youngest siblings, she just couldn't stop.
It made Opal feel like she failed in parenting and annoyed her for the rest of the evening.

I am resetting my strangetown/ pleasantview for the third time.
In the first round of college, Tank moved alone to an apartment in La Fiesta Tech.
Ripp called him to invite to hang out with Ophelia and Johnny, so he said yes.
Then he apologized to Johnny for being an asshole to him in high school and he's trying to change.

A Brief Montage: The Truck Stop, feat. Muffy Landgraab
For some reason, I thought I needed to document the process by which Muffy Landgraab (local real estate mogul who has only become slightly less evil after transing her gender) set up the Strangetown Truck Stop.
She hired as many local teens as she could get her hands on... most of whom are just kids looking to get out of the house for any amount of time, and don't really care about specifics.
Ripp Grunt, in particular, is happy to have the part time job, but is #processing his parents' divorce to anyone who will listen.

Opal still felt bad after everyone left, but Buzz just learned to turn a blind eye and reassure her everything was fine. At worst they will have a case of bad poopsies.
Despite their promise, Buzz still made one last attempt for the week to call Ripp. He thought his son might be interested to know about the birthday party and at least on this special day say a few words to his now elderly father. Unfortunately, Ripp still refused to have a friendly chat.
The Grunts spent the rest of the Sunday afternoon just enjoying their company in the usual quiet manner. Reading books and finally getting to enjoy the one newspaper Tank didn't steal.
That's it for the short week with the Grunts. Next I'll be rolling over next door to Tank and Puck at the Grunt-Summerdream house.
