hii do you collect albums/pocas/magazines/etc? and if you do, what + for which group(s)?

(ik the obv answer is skz but tbh i don’t collect for one of my ult groups bc i just don’t like the album packaging and think it doesn’t display well so you never know </3)

Kinda? Not religiously but I did get a few of the older albums + rockstar for christmas/my bday last/this year so I have the photocards from them! I think I have about 6 of the albums? So I have those photocards and things :) as for magazines I have Chan's NYLON mag because I did really love it lol

I was going to get Seungmin's elle mag but it sold out </3 I have a bad affection for print media so it's probably good those 2 don't get many shoots lol

I haven't actually bought any other groups albums but the next time I get albums from Korea (prices work out WAY cheaper than to buy them anywhere in aus lol) I'm def gonna pick up nmixx's new album and maybe btob's lil keychain one... maybe... as a bday present in a few months lol But outside kpop as a teenager I was super obsessed with the all girl teenage rock band The Runaways and I have a bunch of their Japanese magazines that are a3 sized, vinyl including live recording bootlegs and picture disks and stuff- pretty much the only things I ever got for my bday between ages 13 and 18 were old runaways/Joan jett memorabilia- it was all cheap at the time but after the movie about them came out the prices went up so I guess teenage me got in at the right time.

As for photocards I have only bought one off ebay....

He’d probably been planning this for months. I.e. he wouldn’t stop talking about it and planning it with the guys, they’re tired of hearing Joong’s perfect plan for your birthday.

He knows how much you love the pirate theme the group has, you even saved him as Captain in your phone.

You wake up and there’s an unread text on your phone. “Hongjoong is probably at the studio” you think

“Good Morning My Love, you make every day shine brighter than the last. When you see this your first gift is in the drawer.”

After your own morning coffee and some food, you finally decide to indulge in his games and look in the bedside drawer. 

A sticky note…of course, he planned a treasure hunt… “Go to the place I see your smile light up my morning.”

He always catches you brushing your teeth in the morning.

A note on the mirror that says “Your smile is brighter than the sun.” another note next to your toothbrush. 

“After you get ready head to the place we had our first date.”

This man is really about to make you drive over the whole city.

Your first date was at a cafe that quickly became your favorite place because it always reminded you of him.

“Hey!” your favorite barista saw you enter.

“I’m looking for Hongjoong actually,” you say

“Oh I saw him earlier…he asked me to give you this actually.” he handed you your usual order and on it a heart and a note. Also a Rose…

“I bought your favorites so you can start your day right. How about you come to see me where I finally asked you to be mine?”

The park for your 6th date wasn’t the most magical, in fact, it felt like the place where everyone became a couple. It was still special to you.

There was a photo on the tree by the spot where he asked you…yeah this was definitely Joong

The photo was of the two of you, he brought a Polaroid around. 

The back had a message “How about that time I made you a song? Where’d we first listen to it?” and the drawing of a rose.

Heading back the way to KQ with your headphones on, of course, you’re heading to the studio…he couldn’t just stay home and enjoy the day with you.

You’re standing in front of the building and realizing this man has made you go all over the city on your own birthday…infuriating.

Now you’re hungry so you stop for food in the 7-11 located on the bottom floor.

“Hey, y/n. Joong said you’d probably be by so he bought these for you.” the clerk said handing you the snacks.

He’s definitely on the couch for a week, maybe a month. The pocas?? Sleep with him.

You hear a faint melody as you get to your floor.

He planned this.

You open the door and it’s like the day melted away. No longer mad he made you run all over the city looking for him…well maybe a little still

There are petals on the floor and candles. You know the standard romantic things.

There’s a song playing in the background, you haven’t heard it before but you know it’s your Joong’s voice.

“Welcome home Darling.” he smiled turning around to face you holding out a rose.

“Yahhh Kim Hongjoong.”

“I know but I had to get you out of the house to set this up.” he smiled a small twinkle in his eye.

“Sometimes you’re too romantic.” you chuckle at him.

“Hey at least I remembered this year.” he winced.

Last year was a mess with touring and everything, you couldn’t blame him for not having his head on straight. 

Didn’t make it any less special he tried his best. He even flew you out to see him.

“I love you.” he smiled and took all the flowers from you.

“And just what do you have planned?” you raised your eyebrow.

“Oh just the only gift I think is suitable for you.” he dropped to one knee, box in hand.

ARE YOU GOING TO SAY YES??? HMMMM??

“You are truly a pain in my ass Kim Hongjoong.”

“But only yours.” he smiled and slipped the ring on.

“I think the members would say otherwise.

Her full name is Wendy Olivia Koopa

She is 14 years old, the same age as Iggy. Her birthday is July 16th.

Her sign is Cancer and her birthstone is rose quartz.

She is the same height as Morton, both of them being in the middle of everyone.

She weighs the same as Iggy. Again, she is in the middle with her brother.

Her favorite food is Caesar salad.

She likes jewelry and elegant dresses. She dreams of being a great designer, since she greatly admires Princess Peach and wants to be as elegant as her.

She is the only one of her brothers who wears golden bracelets instead of spiked ones. This is because her wrists are more delicate and flexible and that would take away from her mobility and elegance, according to her.

Along with Iggy, Roy and Mykey, she is the only one to wear accessories, although in her case she wears more than one.

She really likes her pink bow. It was a gift from Princess Peach when she was born.

Bootleg of John Coltrane 4tet + Eric Dolphy in Copenhagen 1961

Without a doubt, saxophonist John Coltrane's band after he left trumpeter Miles Davis in 1960 is one of the defining groups of jazz, and for the year or so during which multi- instrumentalist Eric Dolphy joined Coltrane on reeds, the band became a phrenic and frenetic powerhouse that shook jazz to its core. Between Dolphy's piercingly distinct sound and Coltrane's newly developed interest in Eastern modalities, as well as the driving force of one of the all-time great rhythm sections—pianist McCoy Tyner, drummer Elvin Jones, and bassists Jimmy Garrison or Reggie Workman—this was a band to reckon with.

Recorded on November 20, 1961, mere weeks after the legendary Village Vanguard sessions that got critics' dander up, this album finds the quintet at the Falkonercenter in Copenhagen, playing the first part of a sold-out two act bill (the second act was trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie's band: what a concert!). Here, Workman is still holding down the bass chair, though Jimmy Garrison had likely won himself the spot for future iterations of the Coltrane band with his performance on "Chasin' The Trane" back in New York. Previously made available on vinyl, but only just released in a complete CD form with announcements by presenter Norman Granz, this is a must-have for Coltrane or Dolphy completists.

The album boasts two curiosities that distinguish it from all the other Coltrane recordings available in the marketplace. The first, a pair of rare false starts on "My Favorite Things," prompting an apology from the ever mild-mannered Coltrane to the audience, will likely only interest the true die-hard fan. But a version of Victor Young's beautiful "Delilah," purported to be the only version of the song that Coltrane or Dolphy ever recorded, is a deluxe addition to any fan's collection.

Without a doubt, this would have been an astonishing performance to witness. While Coltrane, Dolphy and McCoy are fantastic as always, part of the pleasure of hearing this band is in the seemingly telepathic give and take between all players. Hearing Coltrane's fire with only hints of the sparks that Elvin Jones is lighting behind him isn't the complete experience. That being said, it's still a lot better than most of what's out there.

There is something I don't understand - possibly because I'm not on twitter and therefore can only see one post and not what hangs on it - but what is actually the hang up with one of JK's C-Bar? The 4 pics I saw where such a wild theory that I don't get where the conclusion is from.

Can you explain? Wild idea or actually something behind it?

Solos (and quiet a few shippers) seem to live in a paralell dimension sometime so I would understand if there is nothing behind the claim or something entirely different.

Thanks for typing out the tweet you linked because it turns out the tweet is no longer available. Going with what you wrote, it’s an easy question to answer but first I need to explain what a C-bar is, because really all that solo is showing is that they have no idea what they're talking about.

One way to think of a C-bar, is as a sort of 'partially crowdfunded k-pop retailer' that focuses on an idol, duo, sub-unit or group. So, V-bar is akin to kpopmarket, Choice Music LA, Cokodive or even Target, but with a focus on everything Taehyung. C-bars are somewhat necessary for Chinese fans (whether solos or ARMYs) because most of k-pop online retail is blocked by the Chinese government's firewall. Most people who run C-bars aren't actually fans of the idol. It's a business, but it's treated like a fan club.

So, just like Cokodive and Target sometimes run special promotions for select k-pop artists/items, might offer custom pocas, or have credit purchase solutions where you can buy an album on credit and pay for it over time - just as most k-pop retailers can offer these incentives where they take on the cost and also sometimes negotiate with the label (such as in making custom pocas), so can most C-bars.

JK's C-bar was offering a credit purchase incentive for Golden. This is something very common with C-bars and the cost is typically borne by the C-bars because they're insanely well capitalized and actually make profit on the payment installments with interest. C-bars bulk buy, always. They have already paid HYBE or at least satisfied a deposit condition for their purchase, the cost for re-selling the albums on credit remains on their books, not HYBE's, and this is a practice that's so common at least four other BTS-related bars have done the same.

So, that solo was either misinformed or deliberately trying to add to the drama, as usual.

wow! an enjoyer of Stranger Things? and of Yui Komori? you speak my language!

I definitely think that Yui could not fall in love under any circumstances with someone like Billy (maybe in a school context where she knows him either because of Max(Yui being her tutor) or even both of them going to the same classes?), more than anything because of his attitude towards the others and ESPECIALLY Max/the main group of ST.

But that doesn't mean Billy wasn't interested in someone like Yui! On the contrary, I think he might have something of a Crush in her and would try to get her attention by being his normal obnoxious self, trying to be "cool" and for her to treat him with her characteristic kindness (he's like Max Jagerman with Grace Chastity in a way, but more genuine? He wants her to notice him so bad--).

Yui may feel sorry for Billy, but she can't really return his interest. It's something one-sided.

STEVE ON THE OTHER HAND, I can definitely see them interacting differently and much friendlier, especially after Steve comes to his senses and becomes a better person. Yui is definitely someone who is easy to fall in love with, and Steve is no exception!

With the good number of jobs that Steve has throughout the seasons, he probably has the good (or bad) luck that in all his jobs he runs into Yui, and VERY rarely manages to act normal, but Yui is so patient and so SWEET that everything ends well somehow.

definitely something much more likely and nicer if they get to know each other.

con la buena de trabajos que Steve tiene a lo largo de las temporadas, probablemente tiene la buena(o mala) suerte de que en todos sus trabajos se topa con Yui, y MUY pocas veces logra actuar de forma normal, pero Yui es tan paciente y tan DULCE que todo termina bien de alguna forma.

It's unfortunate, but I don't side with the complaint this time. Lin should know better, Doyoung fans look up to her.

Noone wanted to slight Doyoung intentionally. It was toughtless from the layout designer/the team responsible for the albums, but it's a very very common mistake. It probably arose from the designer not knowing the kind of binding that would be used for that particular album version. A spread (2 page illustration/photo) is perfectly fully visible in magazine type of binding, for example.

I think there was a similar case with Taeyong's face on a group picture in the past.

Yes, in a perfect world the binding would be taken into consideration, a test copy printed for a final check of colour and mistakes, the group photo sized down for Do's face to not fall onto the seam or excluded altogether. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world, and the communication between an editorial team and a printing company is always bad.

You imagine SM as one being with one head. In reality it is a complex of hundreds of chains of command and projects ran simultaneously. People are overworked and become unattentive, deadlines press into making shortcuts, subcontractors delay delegated to them jobs, things fall apart here and there. Those albums are probably printed in China, then they need to be completed with pocas and CDs, which, perhaps, happens in Korea. Afterwards those albums need to be sent to the shops. And maybe the copyright team prepares the info about songs and authors with a delay, and thus the layout is completed last minute, and then there is no time for a test copy. Or the machines that print one binding versions are occupied with a big order, and the printhouse offers an alternative, and SM's side has to change all the plans, which results in 2-page illustrations becoming an issue.

I do not like that SM can't sort out their album problem. They get better, than they fail again. And they will probably continue to fail again and again, because they are not a publishing company, they have young layout designers that are still gaining experience (we saw those girls in tours of Kwangya), and the company always finishes everything last minute due to fast-paced factory production. However, I also don't have it in me to hate the company for that.

Fans should point out the issue to SM in a calm customer review manner. It might be corrected with additional print. Not oh and ah among themselves, persuading each other how SM hates Doyoung a 100th time.

If you're actually talking about making the pocas themselves, as in, physical ones... Nah.

Just thinking about finding the nearest place to get them printed (which is... about 2 hours away at the very least since all the printing shops in my town aren't really of high quality when it comes to digital art) and how to get them shipped if that's also to be considered... makes me wanna burn my whole wallet.

BUT if you're talking about just drawing the pocas with various assclass characters on each, or maybe a group photo or two (tho probably a selected few because I'm very biased 😅), I've been thinking about it for a while, actually!

Just never really gotten around to actually sit down and draw some.

The most I can say is that it's been on my mind lol. Whether I'll actually draw some or not... ehh I'm still undecided.

I've already got enough in my checklist to go through, so I might just focus on those first 😅
