Grinch Punch !
Ingredients:
1 quart Lime sherbet
1 bottle Sprite 2 liter size
4 cups Hawaiian Punch Green Berry Rush
Red sanding sugar for garnish
Maraschino cherries for topping
2 cups vodka (optional)
Instructions:
Scoop the lime sherbet into a large punch bowl.1 quart Lime sherbet
Pour Sprite over top of the sherbet, then add Hawaiian Punch. Note: If making a boozy punch, use two cups less of the Sprite to make room for the vodka.1 bottle Sprite,4 cups Hawaiian Punch Green Berry Rush
Add vodka (if making the boozy version).2 cups vodka
For serving, pour a bit of Sprite (or you can use corn syrup) into a small saucer. In another saucer, pour a layer of red sanding sugar. Dip the rim of the glass into the Sprite or corn syrup, then into the sugar.Red sanding sugar for garnish
Ladle your punch into the glass, then top with a maraschino cherry
Notes:
It’s best to chill your Sprite, vodka, and Hawaiian Punch before making this recipe. If you start with warm beverages, the sherbet may melt too quickly.

Giant Dinosaur
Prompt: For Christmas, you buy your man the giant dinosaur from Kohl's. [Requested by @airghostlyfox]
Featuring: Task Force 141 (CoD: MW2) - John Price, Simon "Ghost" Riley, Kyle "Gaz" Garrick, Johnny "Soap" MacTavish (separately) x GN!Reader
Word Count: 0.9k
Warnings: profanity; gaz is ooc but it all felt repetitive
A/N: not super proud of this one, but i hope y'all enjoy it anyway because i thought it was fun :-)
He.
John Price
It was hard to hide a dinosaur plushy that big. But there was a linen closet you only kept tablecloths and spare towels in, and now a very smooshed dinosaur crammed into the top.
Christmas morning, you wriggled free of John’s death grip on you, muttering something about needing to pee. A few minutes later you slipped back into his arms and kissed him good morning.
He smiled sleepily and nuzzled his face into your neck. “Morning,” he purred, beard tickling you a little.
“Morning, baby. Santa left you something.”
He opened his eyes a little more and looked around. Lurking right behind him, spooning him, was the giant dinosaur.
“Fuckin’ hell.”
John jerked and punched the thing across the room.
“John! What is wrong with you?” You were halfway out of bed to go grab the thing before he tugged you back into his chest and pulled the blankets up again.
“Too early for presents, luvie. Not until 9 AM. Need more kisses.”
You didn’t have any real desire to protest with your lover’s mouth already against yours and his arms squeezing you close.
The dinosaur lay on the floor for a while, before John finally allowed him to sit on the bed during the day. Though that bad boy would get punted once it was time for bed. Poor guy :-(
Simon Riley
He found it before Christmas morning. On the hunt in the guest bathroom for some spare shaving cream containers, he pulled aside the shower curtain and hollered.
You came running from the bedroom.
“Simon! Simon, what’s wrong?”
You collided into him as he came out of the bathroom. Strong hands gripped your shoulders and he took a deep breath.
“Why is there a giant fuckin’ stuffed Grinch in the shower?”
You blinked. Then groaned in defeat.
“Aw, damn.” You squeezed past him and plucked the stuffie up. “He’s a dinosaur, Simon.” A little scratch to the plushie’s chin. “And part of your Christmas present.”
“No.”
“It’s only part of your present, Si. You’ve got other goodies waiting.”
He took it from you and gave it a shake. Nothing inside made a noise, so he started squeezing its limbs, its stomach, its face. You looked on, smiling. That wasn’t the usual way of playing with a stuffed animal, but it’s cute.
You must have said that last bit aloud because he fixed you with a withering glare and suddenly you had a mouthful of dinosaur fluff.
Kyle Garrick
Kyle got home the morning of Christmas Day. Well, technically morning, as it was 3 AM.
You picked him up at the airport and welcomed him with a bear hug and several kisses. He was exhausted. Eyes barely open, face buried into your neck. If he were still a little kid, you would have carried him and strapped him into his car seat.
You walked arm-in-arm back to the car, chatting about your plans for the afternoon, all the food you’ve been making, and that Santa had already dropped off his presents.
“Oh, boy, I can’t wait to see what I got.”
“I brought part of it with me.”
Kyle grinned and immediately tugged at the waist band of your clothes, seeing if your undergarments were the present. You scoffed and gave his nose a gentle flick.
You opened the trunk of the car and helped him load his gear in. Sitting in the passenger seat, he saw a large, fluffy, green shape.
“Wha’s that?”
“For you!”
He all but skipped to the passenger seat and laughed at the dinosaur strapped in. Unclicked the seatbelt, scooped him up, and traded spots. You sat in the driver’s seat and gladly accepted all the happy kisses he gave you.
“Thank you, baby, this is very sweet.”
The first ten minutes of the drive home was filled with him saying thank you and leaning over to give you a kiss.
The rest of it was him sleeping on the dinosaur, quiet snores and the same death grip he gave you around the mass of green fluff.
Johnny MacTavish
Johnny burst out laughing when he looked at the mass of wrapping paper next to the tree.
“Steamin’ bloody- What the shit?”
You tried so hard not to laugh as you told him to go ahead and open it. He tore it open like the dinosaur was suffocating and smacked it on the ground. Chest compressions, mouth-to-mouth. Then slapping its face and begging it to wake up.
You may have peed yourself a little bit at his shennanigans.
And it got so much worse, as he decided the giant dinosaur was a punching bag or sparring mannequin. He called it “Boss” and treated him like his number one enemy.
Whenever you put Boss on the couch, Johnny would take a running start and body slam it off. Tuck Boss into bed, and he’d driving-elbow-drop on the motherfucker and the bounce would almost launch you off the mattress. The dino never fought back, but you sure did.
“Fucking launch me like that again, I dare you.”
“He was in my spot.”
“You will be living in the barracks and Boss will get your side of the bed and the sink.”He took more care in reducing collateral damage when attacking Boss, and you got really good at repairing that dinosaur. You didn’t want Johnny to know he was being too rough. Or for him to stop. It was Penelope and her shroud, you and that stupid fucking dinosaur.
Enjoy reading this? Here's a link to my other works! Thanks for reading :-)

jadey would you please mind giving us more of kbd!steve this season? xxxx
kbd dad!steve and mom!reader fight over christmas pyjamas, 1.4k
“I don't know what you want me to say.”
Steve frowns deeply at you. Another haircut, another day more handsome than before, he pulls off everything, but not…
“Say you like them,” he demands, hooking his thumbs in his pyjama top and pulling it outwards to properly show you the front.
Steve is wearing Christmas pyjamas. The Grinch from The Grinch Who Stole Christmas in all his scrooge glory grins at you evilly against a red background. The pants are white, patterned by red and green drawings of the Grinch holding a Christmas present. He looks much happier from your husband's thighs than the long sleeved shirt.
“Babe, they have cuffs. We're gonna be warm all day,” he says.
“They don't match,” you say, pointing to the Grinch on his leg, who holds a pink gift wrapped in yellow ribbon. “Maybe it's the pink and red throwing me off.”
His frown turns to a pout, the almond shape of his warm brown eyes at a downturn as he says, “You really don't like them.”
You crack like a weak walled chestnut over a flame. “I'm kidding! I'm just messing with you, baby, I love them. They're so Christmas-sy. Did you get some for me?”
His relief is palpable. “I got some for everyone.”
Steve got matching pyjamas for himself, you, the kids, and Robin. He shows you them from a bag on the kitchen table, where you ooh and aah reluctantly. You love him, love everything he does, but you're finally on your holidays vacation and you'd wanted to spend as much of it sitting down as possible. Not that sitting down is possible at home, but you digress.
Steve senses your reluctance with a grumble pressed into the back of your neck, his arms grabbing you from behind. “Alright, I get it! You hate me and your kids and you hate Christmas most of all, whatever. I should've married Tammy Thompson.”
You laugh and lean forward over his arms. “Tammy Thompson wouldn't have wanted a thing to do with you, H, on account of you being a cruel, know-it-all narcissist who forces his exhausted wife off of the couch at every opportunity he–”
“Alright, that's enough.”
Steve squeezes you until you're pleading with him to let you go, a riot of giggles forced from your lungs as he digs his hands into your sides, his fingers practically drilled into your ribs. You call for mercy and he ignores it, muttering about narcissism in your ear. He laughs as you laugh, can't keep up the act.
“Beg for me to stop,” he says.
“Stop!” you say, trying to pull his arms off of your stomach. “Steve, stop it!”
“Say you'll wear the pyjamas.”
“Steve! I'll wear them! Would you–”
“Get off of her!” Bethie shouts, barrelling into the room to push at her dad's legs.
It's so unlike Beth to shout that you both immediately stop fighting. For a split second, you think she's worried that Steve was actually hurting you, but then she laughs as she punches him in the thigh and sticks herself between your breathless bodies, two small arms extended to keep you apart.
When she's sure Steve is done, she wraps her arms around you, looking up into your face with a big smile. “Saved you, mom.”
“You saved me,” you agree, bending down to hug her, “thank you, sweetheart, thank you.” You drop tens of kisses into her hair and face, so many that Steve makes a show of huffing.
“Beth, she deserved it,” he says. “She doesn't wanna wear our matching jammies. Don't you wanna do that?”
She looks at him with those big sorry eyes only young children can master. “Yeah, dad, but…”
“But what?”
“But she's my mom.”
You pull one of the kitchen chairs out and sit down, patting your lap for her to climb up and sit with you. “But I'm her mom,” you sing-song, ever so slightly smug.
“And I'm, what? Cat food?”
“Don't listen to him, baby, he's just jealous.”
Steve turns away from you both, showfully miffed. Bethie giggles and turns into your chest. “He's mad,” she laughs.
“So mad.” You drop your nose into the side of her cheek.
“Are we still having a treat tonight?” she asks.
“Of course we are. It's Christmas! Mom's home, daddy's catching up on his sleep, we're all having cake and ice cream and chocolates until we can't eat anymore,” you promise.
“Wish you were home all the time.”
“Me too, baby,” you say, rubbing her cheek with the tip of your nose slowly. “I wish you could come to work with me. That would be so fun. But we have to make the most of our time away, yeah? Let's have lots and lots of fun.”
“I saved you,” she says, “so maybe I can have extra cake.”
“Beth. You can have as much as you want tonight, I promise.”
“I love Christmas,” she decides.
Steve rushes back into the kitchen with a child under each arm. Dove laughs, her eyes practically sparkling, not a care in the world though she's upside down, and Avery clings to Steve's waist, shouting, “Dad, put me down!” through nervous giggles.
“Tell mom what I told you,” he says.
“Dad, I'm slipping!”
“Avery, you're not slipping. I'm frankly insulted that you think I would drop you. Now tell your mother what we said.”
“Daddy's not a nar-pasit!” Dove says joyfully. “He's a sweetheart.”
“He's a huge narcissist,” you correct in a similar tone.
“He's dropping me!” Avery cries.
Steve shakes her until she screams. “I am not! For Christ's sake, I can curl you like two pound weight, you delinquent! Now.” He takes a deep, fake breath, pulling the two girls higher into his armpits. “Like we rehearsed.”
“I did my turn,” Dove says, reaching out for you, her smile hard to miss even if she is upside down..
“Dad didn't even want to marry that lady,” Avery says, her eyes squeezed closed. Steve chuckles and kisses her head, amused by her silly worry. “He's only ever wanted to be in love with you. And to drop me.”
Steve chokes he laughs so hard, leaning forward and depositing the eldest girl onto two steady feet. “Perfect as always, Ave. And you!” He twists into a shape, Dove's head getting closer and closer to the floor. She couldn't be happier, giggling like she's been tickled the whole while. “You did perfect too, honey.”
“I didn't even bring up that lady,” you say.
Steve and Dove return back to the right way round after some careful manoeuvring. “My bad. Babe. Y/N. I'm sorry, okay? I'm a loser and–” He nudges Dove aside gently to take your hands, your knees, ignoring Beth where she's in the way to kneel in front of you. “I just need you to want to wear these pyjamas as bad as I want you to. So pull it together.”
You put your lips to the shell of Beth's ear. “Should we forgive him?”
“Mmm…” Beth points at Avery. “He has to say sorry for almost dropping Avey.”
“Right.” You nod sagely.
Steve turns to Avery with wide eyes, “You're not actually upset, are you?” he asks, putting out his hand to her.
“My brains are like cranberry sauce,” she says.
He raises his eyebrows, delighted. “Yeah? The thick one from the can?”
Dove climbs under his arm. He pulls her in for a cuddle unthinkingly, but just as quickly she's ducking away from him to walk up to Avery, reaching for her face. Avery leans down obligingly.
Dove pokes her forehead.
“I'm not really jelly!” Avery says, giggling.
“Well, I'm sorry if I scared you almost dropping you,” Steve says, holding his hands together, brown eyes like melting sugar in his pleading. “Can you please forgive me, so mommy will forgive me, and we can put on our new jammies?”
Avery isn't stubborn. “Yeh, okay. I'll forgive you.”
He smiles, turning to you now for the final verdict.
“I already said I'd wear them, Steve,” you say with a grin.
“Oh. Good. Alright.” He climbs to his feet, split from cheek to cheek. “I'm gonna go get the baby. Aw, shit, and the camera. Practise your poses until I come back, angels!”

YELLOWJACKETS CHRISTMAS HEADCANONS!!
- Van absolutely LOVES Home Alone (partially because she relates to it) and makes everyone sit through it three times every December
- Lottie hates Home Alone for the same reason, only Nat knows why she cries every time they watch it
- Laura Lee goes super Catholic about it, need I say more
- Shauna loves those morbid “fun facts” and will not shut up about how St Nicholas resurrected butchered babies and punched a guy in the face
- Jackie’s Christmas tree is really stuffy and white so she always goes to Shauna’s place and the two of them decorate a chaotic little shrub in Shauna’s attic
- Tai’s favourite Christmas movie is 100% Die Hard. Travis doesn’t think it’s a Christmas movie but he still loves it, and Jackie does too because of her “secret” thing for Bruce Willis (and let’s be honest, Bonnie Bedelia too)
- Jackie always gets super competitive over the Wham game
- Misty makes Coach Ben a hand-painted bauble every year, he just has a box of them at Paul’s place labelled “fuck no”
- Misty pretends to still believe in Santa Claus for attention
- Javi is still bitter Travis told him that Santa isn’t real (which Travis only did bc he’s bitter Bobby Farleigh told him)
- Nat is 100% a Nightmare Before Christmas girlie, she & Kevyn always have some sleepover with popcorn to watch it
- Mari knows the lyrics to You’re a Mean One Mr Grinch off by heart
- Misty has a thing for Michael Bublé
- Jackie keeps her own personal naughty & nice list in her diary and gives gifts accordingly. Shauna is always on the nice list and Jeff is almost never, which Jeff is silently so devastated about, like he cries in his room over it
- Lottie always gets the most insane shit for Christmas but it’s literally never what she asked for— she’ll be like “hey can I get a record player” and her parents will be like “I know!!!!! Have an ice sculpture which melts immediately and some million dollar earrings which you will never wear because they clash with your complexion”
- Misty loves the snow, her entire yard is filled with snowmen. There’s lore. It runs deep

@steddiemas Day 5 Prompt: Grinch vs Christmas Cheer
Tags: Modern AU, Eddie Munson & Jeff, Steve & Eddie Are Neighbors, Teacher Steve, Meet Cute

Read on ao3 | ao3 collection
“I thought you said you talked to them?” Eddie groans. He tips his head so far back he wobbles in the chair for a moment before he rights himself and buries his head in his hands. “I can’t work under these conditions!”
“I don’t think planning a campaign counts as working,” Jeff teases.
They’re in their apartment kitchen. Jeff cooking something that smells a hundred times better than the vending machine sandwich he had for lunch at the shop. Free from his day job, Eddie’s working on something he actually cares about now. The latest Dungeons & Dragons handbook is open to a random page while his trusty notebook sits open. There’s no use in hiding it from Jeff. It’s not like he could decipher Eddie’s chicken scratch penmanship anyway.
Besides, he hasn’t gotten much of anything done since he plopped down on the worn leather chair. It’s hard to work with the blaring sound of Mariah fucking Carey’s Christmas album playing on repeat for the third day straight coming from their neighbor's apartment. The obnoxious whirling of the fans keeping a dozen or so Christmas inflatables blown up on their shared stairwell and balcony also doesn’t help.
If this continues any longer, Eddie swears he’s going to find them a new place to live. The peace and quiet would be worth losing out on their rent-controlled place. At least, Eddie thinks so. Christ, he misses the Richards who moved last year. He’d take their scowls and snide comments over this Christmas madness any day.
“It absolutely counts as working,” Eddie scoffs, shooting a glare in Jeff’s direction. “And don’t change the subject, Jefferson. Did you even talk to Mr. and Mrs. Claus next door?”
Jeff snorts, shaking his head before returning to the pot of sauce he has simmering. “No, I didn’t and I’m not going to.”
“Jeff!” Eddie whines. “Your job as the approachable one of this house is to confront our neighbors when they’re annoying us.”
“Okay, but they’re not annoying me.”
“Well, that’s a lie. You hate Michael Buble as much as I do and I know you heard his stupid crooning voice at seven this morning like I did.”
“Okay, you’ve got me there,” Jeff sighs, turning away from the stove to face Eddie. “But I can’t tell them to lower their music! Not when they haven’t complained once about the shit you blare at all hours of the night or our Corroded practices when we have nowhere else to go.”
If Eddie was less stubborn, maybe he’d see that Jeff has a point. But he is stubborn, so he doubles down instead.
“That’s different.”
“It’s really not.”
“Fine,” Eddie shouts, throwing his hands up in defeat. The headache festering behind is eyes is too painful for him to keep arguing with Jeff. Besides, he’s never been able to push Jeff around. It’s why they make such good roommates. “Can you at least talk to them about their decorating habits then? I had to wade through a fucking forest of inflatables this afternoon. M’pretty sure Frosty the fucking Snowman almost punched my balls.”
“Eds, need I remind you that a few days ago you had the entire place decked out for Halloween? How is a few inflatables different than all those skeletons and demon shit you had up?”
“First of all, how dare you compare my artistry to whatever is going on outside,” Eddie scoffs. He’s going to give himself a sore throat if he keeps this up. “I have taste. My decorations told a story! Those inflatables aren’t even from the same properties. They’ve got Santa Mickey next to the fucking Grinch! Charlie Brown mingling with Yoda! There’s no plot!”
Jeff’s shoulders slump, forearms coming to rest on the kitchen counter so he’s at eye level with Eddie. “Just look on the bright side. At least they haven’t done one of those obnoxious light shows like that stupid reality show.”
As if Jeff accidentally summoned a demon in the form of Christmas cheer, a burst of red and green floods their apartment. Their once dimly lit kitchen looks like the inside of a club, red and green lights flickering with the occasional white and blue mixed in. The flickers are timed with the beat of another Mariah Carey Christmas song.
This is what hell must look like, Eddie thinks, as he glares at Jeff.
“What did you do?”
“I didn’t do anything,” Jeff defends, hands up in surrender.
Eddie can seem him struggling not to laugh and it takes all the energy he can muster not to reach around the counter and playfully punch his shoulder. How can Jeff think this is funny? The flickering lights completely goes against their moody aesthetic! Not to mention it’s a health hazard! There’s no way Gareth is going to be able to come over here — not with the way he’s so sensitive to strobes.
Jesus H. Christ and it’s only November 25th! He has to put up with this for weeks!
“It’s not funny, Jefferson!”
“I mean,” Jeff snorts, biting the inside of his cheek to keep his smile from growing. “It’s a little funny.”
🎅🏼 🎄 🤬 🎅🏼 🎄 🤬 🎅🏼 🎄 🤬 🎅🏼 🎄 🤬 🎅🏼 🎄 🤬 🎅🏼 🎄 🤬 🎅🏼 🎄 🤬 🎅🏼 🎄 🤬
The lights have not fucking stopped. Not for one single day. Eddie had hoped his neighbors would have grown tired of the constant strobing and Christmas music by now. But nope. A week and a half and its still going strong.
He’s going to lose his goddamn mind.
“Jeff,” Eddie hisses, lifting the blanket of his makeshift fort enough that he can make eye contact with Jeff. Or at least, try to. Jeff’s perched in their recliner with the biggest pair of sunglasses Eddie’s ever seen. “Please. I can’t take much more of this!”
“It’s not that bad.”
“I might have believed you if you weren’t wearing those ridiculous things,” Eddie snorts. He waits for Jeff to retort but when he doesn’t, he groans and slowly emerges from the safety of his blanket fort. Christ he forgot how bright those damn things are.
Stalking over to their small entryway, Eddie hastily tugs on a pair of boots and reaches for the doorknob.
“What are you doing?” Jeff asks, voice laden with concern.
“Someone has to confront the neighbors!”
He doesn't give him time to respond, yanking the door open and slamming it shut behind him in one fluid movement. It should be a short trip to the neighbor's front door, just a few long strides, but Eddie forgets to account for the fuckton of inflatables cluttering the path. He ducks around Frosty, flipping him off when his stupid wood arms nearly deck his balls, again and forcibly shoves Mickey’s face away from him.
It takes another bit of carefully navigating before he finally reaches the front door adorned with a festive wreath. These people really left no spot undecorated. Eddie doesn’t spare them the decency of a nice, neighborly knock or ring of the doorbell. They’re way past that. Instead, he makes a fist and slams his knuckles into the wood door, and keeps going. Knock. Knock. Knockknockknock.
They probably can’t hear him over the damn music, Eddie thinks, as his knuckle turns redder and redder. Just when he’s about to retreat and face Jeff’s smug wrath, the door opens.
The first thought that passes through Eddie’s mind is oh, he’s hot. The second, more vital thought, comes a moment later. He’s going to kill Jeff. How dare he not disclose how attractive this guy is the minute he met him months ago?
The guy, who Eddie vaguely thinks is named Steve, looks just as surprised to see him as he is. Decked out in an obnoxious Santa-themed apron and green plaid flannel pants, his cheeks are spotted with flour and his hands are stained a faint red color. Judging from the delicious aroma of vanilla and peanut butter wafting into the hallway, Eddie interrupted some very serious baking.
“Oh, you’re not the Instacart shopper,” maybe Steve frowns. “Can I help you?”
“Oh, uh,” Eddie trails off. He’s here for a reason, he knows this, but his mind is blank. Distracted by the smells and the lights and the gorgeous fucking man standing in front of him with hazel eyes so sparkly Eddie’s pretty sure he belongs in a cartoon. “I’m Eddie, your neighbor.”
I’m Eddie, your neighbor?
This cannot be the same brain that creates intricate, plot twist-ridden campaigns that last months. Absolutely not.
“Ah, so you’re Jeff’s roommate! It’s nice to finally meet you. I’m Steve.”
“Right, Steve” Eddie nods. He’s not sure why he nods, it’s not a normal thing to do when you meet someone, and yet, he can’t stop nodding. Stop fucking nodding!
“So, uh, what brings you by?” Steve asks, casually leaning against the doorframe.
“Oh, I uh…” The lights. You were coming here to complain about the lights! “I came to tell you, uh… I could smell you baking!” Oh my fucking god. “You know these walls are thin and we, uh, share AC vents or something I think? So the smell was filling our place and it smelled so good I just, uh, had to come over and see what you’re baking?”
If Jeff was here, Eddie’s pretty sure he’d be two seconds away from collapsing in a fit of laughter. Thank god he’s not. As soon as he gets back to his room, he’s going to take a lukewarm shower and try to forget this entire interaction ever happened and then hide from Steve for the rest of his life.
“Oh, I’m making peanut butter cookies.” Steve’s smile is almost as blinding as the twinkling lights and like a moth to a flame, Eddie can’t look away. “One of my students has been having a rough time and they’re their favorite.”
“Damn, maybe if I had a teacher who baked me cookies I would have done better in school.”
Steve laughs, “Tell me about it. Actually, uh, do you want to help? I’m allergic to peanut butter and my best friend is tied up at work. I could really use a taste tester. Make sure they’re edible.”
“Oh, uh…” Eddie glances over his shoulder and takes in the sight of the sea of inflatables staring at him with their beady painted on eyes, squints at the obnoxious flashing lights keeping time to a terrible cover of “Jingle Bell Rock.” Together it’s the reminder he needs as to why he trekked over here in the first place, but when he turns he’s hit with a punch of peanut butter and well… “Not to toot my own horn, but I am a pretty good taste tester.”
“Perfect,” Steve smiles, pushing himself off the doorframe. “Kitchen’s this way.”
🎅🏼 🎄 🤬 🎅🏼 🎄 🤬 🎅🏼 🎄 🤬 🎅🏼 🎄 🤬 🎅🏼 🎄 🤬 🎅🏼 🎄 🤬 🎅🏼 🎄 🤬 🎅🏼 🎄 🤬
Eddie returns an hour later. Belly full of joy just peanut butter cookies, but also chocolate chip, and gingerbread, and some cinnamon concoction that had him considering a marriage proposal on the spot and a tupperware overflowing with said cookies.
Jeff is still in the living room, sunglasses shielding his eyes, but Eddie knows him well enough to know he’s judging him.
“Don’t say a word,” Eddie sneers, heading straight for the kitchen.

Y/N pov
We were having a small christmas party with just the Avengers. It was also the twins first christmas with us. So we all decided to just do a small one.
"I truly don't get this Holiday." Thor stated as he sipped his beer.
"It's to do with religion. Some shit that most people don't really care about." I said as I placed my empty bottle on the table.
"People do care about it Y/N." Wanda stated making me chuckle. "Just because you're a grinch doesn't mean it's pointless."
"Well it is pointless." I said as I stood up. "All people use it for is a chance to get pissed off their head and get gifts off of people. Personally this holiday brings out the spoilt brats."
"Come on Y/N. Just because you never had a family doesn't mean it's pointless." Tony said with a smirk. Everyone fell silent as I turned to face him.
"What was that?" I said as everyone's eyes were on the two of us.
"I said." He started.
"Oh no. I heard you the first time you spoilt brat." I spoke with venom laced in my voice.
"I am not spoilt." He spat at me as he stood up.
"Really Stark. You had a rich daddy who already had billions before he even met your mother." I sneered as he stepped towards me.
"Say that again." He snarled as he stood right in front of me.
"Shouldn't we stop them?" I heard Kate ask.
"Not yet. I want to see where this goes." Yelena said as I heard everyone starting to take bets.
"I don't repeat myself." I told him angrily.
He stepped back to put some force behind his punch. My head moved to the side with the force but it wasn't enough. Especially since I have a form of Super Soldier Serum running through my veins.
When I turned back to face him I tackled him to the floor. I threw a couple of punches to his face. He then pressed his arc reacter and blasted me off of him. I got to my feet as he got to his.
"Stand down!" Steve ordered but neither of us listened to him. Tony started to punch my face until rer wisps wrapped around his suit.
"Stop this now!" Wanda shouted as she removed Tony from me. I sat up on my knees and spat the blood from my mouth
"Yeah, I know I never had a family but when you guys found me, I thought I finally was apart of a family. Yeah you may be dysfunctional but your a family." I said as I got to my knees. "Just not my family."
"Where are you going?" Nat asked me.
"It seems I have outstayed my welcome here." I said as I left without looking back.
I left them. They didn't want me. They never did.
It had been a few weeks since I came to an old hideout of mine. It was only a small dingey apartment but it was enough.
I was stood looking out of the window, watching the city get over the New Year. I sighed when I heard a knock on my door.
I groan when I saw Wanda at the door.
"What?" I spoke bluntly as I opened the door.
"You need to come home Y/N." She said with pleading eyes.
"I am home. The only home I have ever known." I told her as I took a sip from me beer.
"You're drunk." She stated as I laughed.
"I can't get drunk." I told her. "Goodbye Wanda." I said before shutting the door. As I moved away towards the window once again, someone banged louder on my door.
When I opened it Natasha walked inside. I closed the door before anyone else could come inside.
"What do you want Natasha?" I asked her impatiently.
"I want you to come home." She pleaded with me.
"I am home." I told her.
"No you're not. You're just surviving each day. This is a place that you lay your head each night." She said as she stepped closer to me. "Home is being with the people who love you."
"Well when you find them, let me know." I smirked at her as I got another beer.
"I love you." She said as I laughed and shook my head.
"No you don't. You all just love the idea of having another super soldier on the team." I told her as I slammed the beer down. "That's all I am to all of you. Just another weapon. You're just like Hydra."
"I LOVE YOU. Y/N. I AM SO FUCKING IN LOVE WITH YOU. SO PLEASE JUST COME HOME WITH ME." She yelled. "Please come home."
"You're?" I asked her shocked that she would ever see me as I see her.
"Yes." She said as she remained in her place. I approached her until I was stood before her. My hand ghosted her cheek before I finally held her cheek in my hand.
"I have waited so long to hear that." I whispered as I looked between her eyes. "I have loved you since the first time you kicked my ass in training." I told her.
"Kiss me." She whispered. I wasted no time in closing the gap and kissing her with every emotion I felt towards her. This kiss spoke 1000 words. A thousand I Love Yous in one moment shared between two souls.

Scarecrow is selfish. He doesn't care if his work hurts people, such as his students (as seen in BTAS) or his henchmen. He's targeted children for his work, he's used those who are vulnerable. He's an ass. Literally DC's Grinch.
BUT, what that all said, I really like those headcanons that give him a pinch of humanity. Whether it be his perchance for crows, or the love he has for teaching, to me--it gives him much needed depth as a character that often gets set aside for him to become a punching bag to batman.
I think it's okay to like both sides of the coin, or to mix and match.
And dare I say this, but your version of this character not above other versions just because you disagree with it. It's not magically "better" either. Everyone has their preferences and I firmly believe we should be able to get along despite different headcanons.

MODERN AUs
tis the damn season 5k by @wildflower-daydreamer
Every year, Sansa comes back to her small hometown of Winterfell for Christmas. And each year, she and Jon fall into their old routine for her short stay. This year would be no different. Okay, maybe a little different. Inspired by the song 'tis the damn season by Taylor Swift. corresponding gif
Mistletoe Merriment 4k by @geekprincess26
Theon Greyjoy loves kissing pretty girls, so naturally he loves breaking out the mistletoe and spiked punch every year at the Starks' annual Christmas party. And every year, the girl he kissed the prior year shows up with an awesome new boyfriend - every girl except for Sansa Stark, who ends up with slimy, pathetic gits. Theon will have to go to ridiculous lengths, not to mention risk the legendary wrath of Jon Snow, in order to get Sansa the boyfriend she deserves. But he'll do it, because Theon Greyjoy is a loyal friend - and he'll never let a stupid sprig of mistletoe get the better of him.
When the Grinch Met the Redhead 1k by @yenstarkofrivia
the one where Sansa likes to sing Christmas songs at 3am and Jon is a miserable Grinch
merry and bright 27k by @cellsshapedlikestars
ex-child star Sansa Stark is in desperate need of money and takes a role in a Hallmark Christmas movie, filming in the mountain resort town of Wintertown, Vermont. There, Fire Chief Jon Snow is on set to oversee safety regulations. Sansa hates Christmas and she hates small towns, but a casual fling with a rugged local fireman might be just what she needs.

She had never put Jon and Christmas together, but now she thinks she'll never be able to separate them. or, four Christmases, three midnight excursions, two angry siblings, and one boy at the center of it all
Be My +1 47k by @vivilove-jonsa
Seven months after she attended a wedding with her brother's work colleague (and gave him a tipsy, unrequited kiss when he walked her to the door), Sansa Stark finds herself in the unenviable situation of desperately needing a date for her prep school reunion at a ski resort which will also be attended by her ex-boyfriend/boss's son, Harry Hardyng and her Former-BFF/Frenemy, Margaery Tyrell.
The Best Christmas Present (Is You) 3k @foreverreadingbeautifulbooks
Every year the Starks and honorary Starks spent the week of Christmas in the most northern of the lodges they owned. No guests were allowed to visit the lodge during that week and it was the one time a year where no one in their family was allowed to work. Everyone hung out, played in the snow, skied, baked, ate lots of food, and simply enjoyed being together. It was refreshing to spend so much time with her family since she felt like she’d barely seen them this last year. But, if Sansa was honest, after five days of hanging out with them nonstop, she’d been looking forward to spending a little bit of time by herself. Every year on Christmas Eve, while her mom and dad picked out the tree, Bran would play chess with their neighbor’s son, Lyanna - who was notorious for buying gifts at the last minute - went shopping, Arya and the rest of the boys would challenge each other to skiing contests, and Sansa would take that opportunity to have her own private holiday celebration indoors. She would warm up some hot chocolate, turn up her Christmas playlist, and snuggle down in some blankets to wrap all of her Christmas presents. But not this year. This year she was stuck with Jon Snow and his broken ankle.

The Nightmare Before Christmas 3k by @ladysalvatore3
Sansa Stark was far from being perfect; she occasionally forgot to put the lid back on the toothpaste, she was constantly arriving late to places, she didn’t know how to change a tire or had any idea of what path her life was going to take, but there were three things that Sansa was absolutely sure about. She loved to write. Christmas was the best holiday ever. She hated Jon Snow.
'Tis the Damn Season 4k by @justhereforfandomandfriends
Four times Jon doesn’t ask Sansa to stay, and the one time he does. Sansa Stark was sneaking out of her childhood bedroom to sleep in Jon Snow's bed. If you'd told teenage Sansa, she'd have laughed in scorn (but she’d have flushed too). Twenty-nine year old Sansa was almost used to it. By now, it was practically a tradition, and there was nothing Sansa loved more than holiday traditions. corresponding moodboard
when the snow falls and the white wind blows 10k
Sansa Stark and Jon Snow had never been particularly close, but since her brother died and the two moved to the same city they have been spending more time together. Sansa tells herself Jon sees her as the little girl who lived in the house beside his. Jon tells himself Sansa sees him as nothing more than her brother's best friend. But when the two are snowed in on the way back home for Christmas, their thoughts change.

“So you want me, me and no one else, to dress up as Nikolaus and bring wee-“ his mind scrambles as he tries to remember the boy’s name, because Arya only uses pet names for him, and he doubts that her sister named her child Woolfling, Dr Snuggles, or Baby-Bear, “wee… Ar- Artos some candy, and tell him that he’s been naughty?” Arya forces Jon to play Nikolaus for her lil nephew, and somehow forgets to mention that singlemom!Sansa is really really hot

Light in the Darkest Days of the Year Little Women AU/historical AU 9k by @sibyldisobedience
Winterfell was a handsome old house of modest proportions, that had once seen better days. Its green shutters and gables had faded to a dull grey. Its stone walls could use a new coat of whitewash. And its family, the Starks, had once been counted amongst the most distinguished in Wintertown — a small, sleepy hamlet, just north of the bustling port city of White Harbour, where it was as likely to snow in the summer as not. But despite this dreary description, Winterfell was the happiest little home in the neighbourhood. Even on the darkest, coldest days of winter, the little grey house radiated warmth and light from its frosted-over windows, like a beacon.

Let's celebrate a Northern holiday with Sansa and Jon! Think about a Hallmark Christmas movie set in Westeros, and you're on the right track.
A Stark Solstice 1.5k canon verse @ritzintherabbithole
It’s only fitting, she thought, that fresh snow should blanket the land around Winterfell today of all days. It is pristine, virgin white snow, seemingly pure, but Sansa know knows the kind of monsters that hide in the cold and her time spent in King’s Landing cured her of any instinct to trust appearances.
A midwinter night's dream 2k canon verse
After the Long Night, Sansa fears winter more than ever. How will her new born daughter survive a winter that might last for years? But magic is gone from Westeros, and soon it becomes clear that every season only lasts for a few moons. Though winters are still brutal, there is always an end in sight. And every year on the darkest day of them all, the Starks in Winterfell have a feast.

TMNT ONE SHOT - Holiday Season - A Special gift
Christmas was not your favorite holiday, at least you had a mutant turtle to help out in this trying times (GN READER, Tw: dysfunctional family, arguments and bickering related to food, crying mentioned)
Fluff - makeout / first kiss with *insert turtle you like* after a shitty xmas (English isn’t my first language and I didn’t proof read this 😗✌️, pls don’t hesitante to correct me if you see something off putting, I hope you guys still like it!)
You climb up the last steps of the fire scape connecting the roof top of your building, dragging your feet as you groan one last time, it’s impressive you can hear your relatives arguing several stores bellow, you have lost count how many times people can pick on each other on their free will. You drag your hands along your face and sigh, you want nothing more but to distance yourself from that.
You didn’t get to feel much of The “Christmas spirit” everyone seem to love and cherish since you left your childhood years, and it seems that every year you learn to dislike December a little bit more. As much as The Grinch was deeply relatable for you lately, you didn’t want it to be, having a dysfunctional family in such a tender Holiday was kinda like receiving punch in the gut every day until 25th of December died out. After the first 10, the warm smiles and happy wishes over a great season seem to constantly mock your misery, leaving you bitter and resentful.
Leaning over the edge of your building, you check the many light up windows and different narratives playing along on your neighborhood, a family all gathered up taking a picture by their decorated tree on the left, you let a chuckle out by thrilled parents filming a rather young child by your right, to what it seems taking their first steps by their excitement.
it was nice seeing different kind of life’s playing along the fairy lights on the streets bellow, secretly wishing yours would be a little bit like theirs, reality seems distant as you accidentally disassociate, thinking how -your- family would be seen compared to those merry ones, your parents resentment growing against each other every minute, barking mean comments left and right to you messing apparently everything up. The perfect picture of a broken home. Awful to see, awful to be part of.
You sigh as you recall what drove you to the edge moments ago, a silly comment really, it was so small compared to the constant bickering around the whole month of December, but picking on you eating a single cookie? That you made? You spent the whole day cooking. The whole day trying to have a good Christmas, you can feel yourself fuming as you remember how much you have worked your ass off the whole month for their presents, for a good Christmas dinner, as they wouldnt even buy a single pair of sock for you. Give you a single “thank you” for all of your efforts, You tried, you really did, Despite all the odds against your favor, you still tried, when you finally decide you give yourself a taste of your hard work, your family dares to give you shit about your eating habits? No. Nuh uh.
That was the last drop. You marched to your room as you heard someone giving you shit one last time after harshly dropping the plate on the dining table. knew you would be screwed when they found out you were gone, no amount of locks would keep them at bay for longer than 2 to 3 hours. But god, you needed a time out. Yes, you would rather freeze your butt on a dirty and frozen roof top than to listen to another passive aggressive bullshit comment.
“you have been hiding here all this time?” A familiar voice fills out of the foggyness of your thoughts, your head turns around slightly, watching a well known silhouette marvelously shining through the moonlight “nobody’s seen you in days” his tone isn’t harsh or accusative, you can almost hear a incredulous chuckle out of him, he speaks lightly, curious to your whereabouts, you can also hear him landing near the regular rooftop entrance, you stare once again to the uncountable windows and buildings in front of you.
He waits for you to retaliate, reply with witty comeback, flash him an apologetic smile, anything, but silence wins you over. He knew something was up when you were this quiet, your family would be the main topic when you vanished like that, he also knew you needed space to deal with such matter, in due time, you would ask for comfort, you would seek for his presence, just like when he comes to you, yet this time it never came, you never came. The ninja turtle slowly leans over, trailing his eyes ahead as you do.
A sniff catches him off guard, he knows it shouldnt, but it does, he glances at you to finally see your glossy eyes staring ahead, a blush covering your cheeks and nose; You look adorable, sad, disappointed, frustrated, but still can’t help but to find you adorable, his hearts stings as you rapidly catch a sneaky tear roll down your cheek, turning your back at him before he can catch you in this arms.
“Didn’t want to bother.” your voice comes out more shaky than you would like, a bit hoarse due to the current season, you rub your hands together, if he questioned about your well being, you could just blame it on the cold weather,on the perfect snowflakes falling above you two.
“You could never bother” he trails along slowly, weary as if you were a scared cat, afraid that any hasty movement could make you dash “how about we go to the lair? Everyone misses you.” he gently places a hand on your back, “I miss you” he ponders, moving slowly to be by your side, your eyes don’t meet his, he wants to lean down, he wants your eyes locked on his, he wants you to trust him as much as he trusts you, he wants nothing more but to hold you close and kiss your sorrows and tears away.
he stays put instead, waiting on your call.
You instinctively turns towards him, his warmth drawing you in, you want to smile, to tell him over and over that eveything is fine, you were just busy, he doesn’t have to worry.
Instead your mouth is pressed in a tight line, you can feel your lips trembling when you try to speak, you know words will come out wobbly, and for the first time, you won’t be able to hold back tears in front of him. This is pathetic. You think, you want to be at the lair. You want to be near them, but how can you explain you can’t bare to see their love, brotherhood and companionship tonight? You can’t feel part of it? This night isn’t about you, it has never been and it will never will be, you just get used to it.
You look up; your thoughts swimming through your eyes, you open and close your mouth, how do you explain you crave affection, but can’t seem to bear it?
The turtle holds you in a swift movement, carrying you with ease, gently but still firmly holding you against his plastron in princess style, the familiar adrenaline rushes trough you as you can feel him jumping from roof top to roof top, you don’t have words to question him, astoundingly admiring him as you stare at his focused face facing the horizon ahead.
You close your eyes for a moment, learning your face over the valley of his neck and collarbone, in a blink of an eye, songs, chatter and laughter fills the air and you remember you are in New York , the most magical city to be this time of year. Yes, you had probably the crappiest month of your life, but for a moment, you let yourself drift away in bliss, focusing on sounds and passing colorful lights.
He settles both you on a empty office balcony, everything is dark inside accept for the faint lights on a very worn out tree looking back at you, you check your own reflection, your eyes are red and puffy, your hair is uneven, and there are millions of colors shining behind you.
The Rockefeller was the most iconic place all over New York during Christmas time, slowly turning around, the tree and it’s surroundings leaving you both speechless, you loved Christmas lights, it was impressive to say the least how the decorations were absolutely ethereal. ever so slowly, you both sit down and admire the virw quietly.
“You don’t have to deal with everything on your own” is the first line he graces you, you wanna laugh with that alone, look who’s talking you think over, but you can’t say it, you know he is right, he chuckles as if he could read your mind, he gently tilts your head upwards “next time, call me. Text me. Reach out, for goddess sake.” He smiles at you, you let out a huff, smiling shyly “you have so much on your plate already, I just, I didn’t-“
“You deserve so much better” he shakes his head, lips pressed in a thin line. Over many years of his life, he has thought he had too little and humans had absolutely everything on top side, it was unfair and left a sour taste over his mouth. you have shown him that kind of thought was childish, he had a family, he had people he could count on, that’s alone is a lot more than what many people have, He can’t take that fact for granted anymore.
He also knew your biggest wish was to be part of something like that, his biggest wish was to make you feel part of it, maybe even something more.
You shyly lace your pinky with one of his fingers, ducking away as you felt your face burning under his deep gaze, you were so appreciative of his family, of him, of his patience and dedication, to say you have a crush on the turtle was an understatement, everything the he did made your heart skip a beat, the way he would always seek out for you during hangouts, how he cared for your preferences and well being, you found yourself unable to look away when he was training, when he would laughs so care freely, when he gets lost on his interests and everything seems to slow down around the both of you. You rest your head gently over his shoulder, you know you can get lost in his eyes quickly, you bite your lip when you think of his, and how heavenly it would feel against yours.
“It’s alright..” that what you manage to come up with, it’s cheap and it’s empty, but you don’t know what else to say. “No it’s not.” He says it firmly, interlocking your fingers tightly to prove his point.
Sometimes, you swear he feels the same as you do, you swear you can catch a soft longing from him across the dinging table, across the dojo over self defense training, short glances that are filled with unspoken words, that the innocent touches are not so innocent anymore. but life has taught you not to hang on those wishes, not to have hope. It was hurtful to do so.
“why do you care?” you let a frustrated sigh out, you hate how you just asked that the moment the words left your mouth, you aren’t frustrated at him per say, more towards your feelings, at how clammy your hands feel around his, how fast your heart is beating, how you secretly hope he knows that you didn’t mean to let that question out, how much of a chicken you were, how you fought annoying daydreaming scenarios with him on daily basis and yet just wish he kissed you already.
“Because I do.” he makes you look at him again, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear, and for the first time tonight, you look at him, you really look at him, how he is breathing fast, how dilated his pupils are when he looks at you, how his thumb drags temptingly over the bottom of your lips, letting out a shaky breath as he squeezes your hand one last time.
“because I just do.” His gaze is locked in yours, pleading, full of what you have denied yourself for years, telling eveything you have ever wanted without any words. He was yours, and you are his.
you finally tell yourself fuck it and kiss him.
It’s desperate, it’s passionate, it’s eveything you want and more, you drag your nails on the nape of his neck and draws him into your space, your chest hits is plastron as he grips your hips as he pins you down against the ground, the way you hook one of your leg on top of his shell drives out a moan out of him, making you arch your back, you nibble his bottom lip as you swear you gonna lose your mind.
You don’t know how long has passed, your grip on him is as strong as his as you lay beneath him, you makeout until you are both out of breath, until the anger and frustration has been worn out and you two slowly melt together, once fervent kisses turns into soft, gentle ones, until you are both looking at each other, smiling and giving pecks between giggles, translating eveything you have both been feeling towards each other
“Goddamn.” he draws a hearty laugh out of both you, the turtle rests is forehead against yours, sighing dreamily, giving you feather light kisses on your cheeks as you pull him closer.
“I care a lot about you too.” you drunkly smile to him, caressing his cheeks tenderly, “I sure hope so.” you hook your arms around his neck, laughing at his antics.
“I gotta tell you something tho.” you tilt your head curiously, he looks down at your lips, licking instinctively as you bite yours.
“you surprisingly taste like gingerbread cookies”
That makes you giggle once more.

Christmas promise
IU X GN!Reader
Genre: Fluff
Note: this was for the user who gave me full freedom on IU. Sorry, I accidentally deleted the request, but at least I hope to making up writing a Christmas fic for her😅
You looked at the calendar, sighing. It is the 23rd of December, two days to Christmas, but for some reasons you were not enjoying the usual atmosphere: the entire house was decorated, the big Christmas tree in the living room was shining, even the red pullover you were wearing didn't seem to match with your mood.
"Did you stop to like Christmas so suddendly?", a female voice asked, entering in the room. You didn't even need to turn your head to know that it was just Jieun teasing you as usual. "You know I never liked it in the first place", you said, keeping to watch the calendar. The steps kept coming till reaching you. "Liar", she argued, pinching your cheek.
She sat on your lap and studied your face. "Do you want to tell me what is ruining your mood? Or do I have to go for the street punching whoever looks like the Grinch?", she asked, making you laugh. She was so dork sometimes and it was part of her charms. You met her eyes again and you understood that she would have not let that topic unsolved.
"It's just that...I don't want this year to end", you explained, sighing again, your face getting even more sad. The position of her eyebrows showed that she was confused by your words. "But, baby, why? I mean, sure it was a good year but-", she reasoned out loud, getting interrupted by you in the middle. "It was not just a good year, it was great, it was fantastic", you corrected her, a lot of emphasis in your voice.
"And do you know why? That's because you worked less than all the previous years, we haven't spent so much time together not even in the first months of our relationship", you said, leaving Jieun surprised by your words. It had been a year dedicated to rest for her, so she kinda got where your words were coming from. A series of memories hit her in that moment...
That time when you brought her to the zoo, after talking about it so many times. It was so fun and adorable to watch her falling in love with the panda. Or that other time when she surprised you with a romantic dinner on candlelight, you still ask yourself if such an amazing night was real or just made in your fantasies? Or simply when you two had the most chill walk in a rural area near Seoul, for a day she kinda forgot about being a celebrity.
"Do you know what I mean, right?", you asked with a sad smile. She hugged you tightly in response, her arms around your neck, her head resting on your shoulder, a slow nod of her head giving you the answer. It was actually rare for you to see Jieun being so soft. Like, obviously being a couple you two cuddle a lot, but this time she was clearly vulnerable.
"Do you know that I love you, right? More than everything in this universe?", she asks you, speaking directly in your ear with a serious voice, and now is your time to simply nod. "Then trust me, because I promise you right now that it doesn't matter how busy I will be next year: I will always find time for you", she said, looking at you, while cupping your cheeks with her hands.
You knew since the start that this year was an exception, and obviously you were grateful about it, but you won't break up with her even if could see her just once in a month. So, seeing how serious she was in her promise, in making you understand you were important for her, you couldn't help but smile.
"I trust you, baby. I believe you with all my heart", you reassure her, posing your forehead against her, enjoying the contact between your skin. That gave goosebumps to your gf, that pulled your face closer to capture your lips in a kiss. It was long yet kiss. You could feel like your relationship made a big jump ahead in that moment.
"Thanks for trusting me, I love you", she softly whispered. "I love you too, Jieun. Let's enjoy this Christmas together", you said, caressing her face, making her melt in your hand. "Do you wanna still going to punch the Grinch on the street tho?", you asked out of nowhere, making her laugh. "Sure, let me get the baseball bat to smash his green ass".
~~~
And... done! This has to be my first Christmas fic and honestly I enjoyed that a lot. I hope you all have a merry Christmas ❤️🫂🥳
Neighbor rivalry ft. Satoru Gojo
Day 03 of 31 Days of Ficmas!
summary — you and your neighbor keep bickering about who has the most beautiful christmas-decorated house in the street.
word count — 1.3k
content — enemies to lovers, fluff, lots of swearing, gojo is a menace and implied to be a tsundere, they’re just silly kids (not literally)
notes — third day! I actually wanted to keep all those fics under 1k words but I got carried away and almost kept writing, I swear it would end up with 3k words and a smut if I wasn’t able to contain myself. I hope you enjoy this one <3
You didn’t want to admit how glamorous Satoru Gojo’s house looked, but it did.
Your obnoxious neighbor had made it his life mission to spend the entire year annoying the shit out of you by bragging how he won the “Best Outdoor Christmas Decorations Award” – which was a friendly competition between neighbors, but ignited a childish rivalry between the two of you.
Whenever you gathered together for parties or barbecues, it would always end in debates about a) how immature he was, and b) how he won. Your endless bickering amused everyone, though.
And it made you even more determined to win this year.
You grimaced at his house, groaning to yourself before focusing on your task: fixing the Christmas lights that were suspended from your roof. It was already hard to keep yourself steady on that ladder, but doing that while thinking about Gojo was on another level of torture.
“You shouldn’t try so hard, it won’t look as good as mine.”
Speaking of the devil…
You didn’t even need to look at him to know he was looking up at you with a big, devilish smile. Gojo was quick to destabilize you and get under your skin whenever you looked into his sky-blue eyes, always sparkling at you – so you didn’t.
“It won’t,” you hummed, disinterested. “It will look better.”
He scoffed, “You should only accept your defeat and move on…”
Your gaze finally found him; wearing baggy sweatpants, a sweater, slippers, and, of course, the smile you predicted.
“Did you really just leave your house to be a pain in my ass, you fucking grinch?” you asked when processed his outfit.
He gasped, pretending to be outraged, “Grinch! Me!? The one who loves Christmas the most!”
Tired of his antics, you sighed, dropping the hammer you were holding onto the box beside the ladder and getting ready to climb down. Maybe throw some punches.
When stepping down, you miscalculated the distance between one step and the other and lost your balance. A scream of pure horror left your lips, pretty sure you’d break a bone when the warmth of two arms caught you in the air.
Before you knew it, Gojo was holding you bridal style, your frightened eyes fluttering open to meet his widened ones, “You scared me for a moment there!”, he breathed out, his body relaxing when he realized danger was no longer present.
Still processing what had just happened, you put your hand on his chest and pushed lightly, a silent request to be put down – which he quickly obliged.
“Fuck, sorry, I’m just— so stressed!”, you grumbled while trying to calm your heartbeat. Everything escalated so quickly and your body couldn’t keep up, “You fucking stress me!”, you spat at last.
Almost falling and having Satoru Gojo, of all people, saving you; it was a sick joke. And you blamed him.
Gojo suddenly went quiet – unusually quiet –, and you could see him biting his lip and looking around awkwardly.
Without saying another word, he grabbed the hammer you had dropped a few moments earlier and simply climbed the ladder, “The fuck are you doing?”
“I’m finishing this for you,” he said so low you could barely hear him.
You watched, in utter disbelief, as Gojo hammered the nails into your roof and placed the Christmas in the places you first intended them to be. You didn’t know, but he did watch you decorating your garden and outdoors and he noticed your patterns, so it wasn’t hard for him to make it the way you wanted.
“You need help with anything else?”, the white-haired man asked casually as he climbed down the ladder, never looking directly at you, his ever so annoying smile gone.
“What is that now, Gojo? Stop acting nice, you don’t have to pretend you care about my decorations or about me,” your words held a hint of bitterness and resentment.
“What?” he finally lifted his eyes to meet yours, confliction hidden behind his irises. “I do care about you.”
You scoff, “Sure, Gojo. Go back to your Award Winner house, will you? I will handle things here,” you stopped to add, “By myself.”
Maybe it was the fright of almost falling or just tiredness of fighting, but you felt like you really couldn’t spend another second with Gojo without losing your mind. He truly got under your skin and you recognized it, he didn’t even do anything, but…
“I’m sorry for stressing you out so much, it was never my intention,” was what he said before leaving you alone.
You gulped, feeling a little guilty for lashing out at him. Your rivalry was never that serious, just something you’d actually laugh about at night before sleep, but recently it became sort of a different experience. Something about that damned man, that infuriating smile and maddening eyes – it made you want to scream at him.
Why, though?
You wish you knew.
You sighed and shook your head, trying to forget everything about him. You proceeded to decorate your outdoors a little more until the sun was setting, then you turned on all the lights and smiled to yourself with the results so far.
Entering your house, you took a hot shower before putting on the comfiest pajamas you found, going to the kitchen, and preparing some hot chocolate when your doorbell rang.
You took your time to take the hot chocolate off the stove and went to answer the door.
As you opened it, you almost regretted all your life choices; you regretted opening the door, you regretted putting on that fucking pajama, you regretted not drying your hair, you even regretted moving to that cursed neighborhood.
Because there stood Satoru Gojo with a big box in his hands and sky-blue puppy eyes.
“Hi,” he smiled without a care in the world, he smiled and didn’t care about your pajamas or wet hair, he smiled and a small part of you was grateful that he did.
It felt wrong when he stopped smiling earlier.
“Hi,” you said back, uncertain of why he was there.
“Your house looks so beautiful tonight,” he started and, if you didn’t know Gojo, you’d say he was blushing. “More beautiful than mine.”
You blinked slowly, blood rushing quickly to your cheeks as your heart beat faster with the compliment and in a second you were blushing as well.
Oh.
“Oh,” you didn’t know what to say. What was there to say? What did he want? “Thank you, Gojo.”
“I brought you the best decorations I could find– some I believe that would suit you,” he continued and you noticed how uneasy he looked.
He practically shoves the box he was holding into your arms, but you accept it without a single complaint, “Thank you, but… why?”
“I like you.”
The declaration hung in the air like a mistletoe above your heads, the tension immediately installed, thoughts of should we kiss? and is this the best moment? filling both of your minds, mixed with the embarrassment of an unexpected circumstance.
“I’ve liked you for a long time and I mess with you because…” he looked away. “I don’t know, I just like to spend hours teasing you and having you teasing me back, but I never meant to actually make you feel any kind of bad–”
“Gojo,” you interrupted him. He was talking too much and that was new information you still didn’t know how to process. The mere thought of Satoru Gojo liking you seemed too surreal to be true. “You don’t need to apologize, just…”
You didn’t know why, but a ghost of a smile started forming on your lips. You could feel it tugging on your face, a warm feeling embracing your heart as you took in the image of your obnoxious neighbor standing at your front door. The way he got under your skin…
“I just prepared some hot chocolate. Do you want to come in?”
Gojo’s eyes lightened up instantly, a sparkle you’ve never seen before shining among his blues. He nodded and took a step to enter your house, which he had never entered before.
He crossed your walls and made himself at home.
When Bucky first moved into the compound, the team decided to have weekly movie nights to catch him and Steve up on modern film. Every week someone on the team would pick a couple movies, everyone would bring something to movie nights whether it was blankets, pillows, snacks, or drinks. This week was Christmas movies, more specifically, modern Christmas movies. It was Y/N’s turn to pick movies so she picked How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Elf. She thought that Bucky might enjoy them but she honestly just loved the two films.
Everyone was settled around the large screen, settled on couches, chairs, the floor, some were cozied up to one another, others just sat by themselves. Bucky always sat between Steve and Y/N, she almost always ended up cuddled into his side. During movie nights, there were a few people on the team that fell asleep almost every time; Clint, Thor, Bruce and on some occasions Steve. There were also ones that almost never fell asleep during movie night; Y/N, Bucky, Sam, Tony and Peter to name a few.
With it being close to Christmas the snacks were a variety of cookies, the classic popcorn, some chocolate covered pretzels and a few others. The drinks were a mix of alcoholic and non-alcoholic(for Peter), of course there was spiked and normal hot chocolate, candy cane martinis, eggnog and a spiked Christmas punch made by Natasha. Everyone settled in with their drinks and snacks before the first movie had started. As the beginning of the Grinch started, Y/N felt her eyes starting to droop, her exhaustion catching up with her.
She had just gotten back from a mission only a few hours before movie night started, she had time to shower and debrief but she hadn’t gotten time to rest. Her head fell right onto Bucky’s right shoulder. He glanced to his right to find her fighting sleep on his shoulder.
“Lay down, sweetheart. Lay your head down on my lap,” Bucky whispered to her. She hummed and picked her head up for a moment.
“You sure?” She whispered back. Instead of verbally responding, he just nodded. So she laid herself down, curled up, resting her head on his lap. Bucky had grabbed a blanket from the back of the couch they were on and draped it over her curled up body.
As she was starting to doze off, she felt a warm hand stroking her cheek gently. The touch was feather-light, barely there, but she felt it and she knew that it was Bucky. She was fast asleep not much longer after the soothing touch had started. She stayed asleep throughout the whole entire movie and well into the second before she started to wake. Bucky’s hand had migrated from her cheek to her arm, where his thumb traced thoughtless patterns. When she opened her eyes, she noticed that Steve had moved his seat to sit next to Nat. Bucky was the only one to take notice that she was awake, he was the only one that even knew that she was asleep.
“Buck,” She whispered, catching his attention, “Lay with me?”
“Course, gorgeous,” Bucky replied in the same tone.
Now the two of them were laid on the couch, Bucky laying on his back, his head turned towards the tv and Y/N who was laying on her side, sandwiched between the back of the couch and Bucky, her head resting on his chest. Bucky’s vibranium arm protectively holding her, his hand rubbing across her back soothingly. It didn’t take her much longer to fall back asleep. Instead of watching the movie, he watched her, the way her nose twitched, the way her eyelashes sat on her cheeks, and the way her lips would twitch into a slight smile whenever his hand passed a certain place on her back.
Once the movie was over and the lights were back on, the members of the team that were still awake had taken notice to pair. Before they could even start ruthlessly teasing them, Bucky was quick to shut them up.
“If any of you wake her I will kill you with zero hesitation,” Bucky threatened in a whisper. The team backed off, deciding that cleaning up was a great idea.
The room was almost empty, only Steve, Bucky and Y/N remained. Steve just smiled at the pair on the couch, taking note of the protective hold Bucky had on her. “She’s good for you,” Steve said nonchalantly.
“She really is,” Bucky replied, a rare smile gracing his face.
