Considering in my oneshot fic "No Limits" I have Grim Danny sticking around to take out the GIW, I just might have him kick the asses of anyone else coming after Danny, too. People are gonna be tripping on nothing every time they try to attack Danny, there may be bashed noses and he might laugh.

Anyways, I have unpleasant feelings about the end of AGIT and the preview we have seen of the planned sequel. It's giving "this is worse than Phantom Planet" vibes for me. I just might completely ignore that plot-point for the fic that follows "No Limits".

Hey, any of y'all interested in a danny phantom repeating pattern for your miscellaneous background needs?

I've included a few versions of the base tile in case anyone wants to tile it themselves, plus a phone background made using the pattern. The only image here that can't be tiled (seamlessly, anyway) is the phone background, which is the second image.

Cackling filled the air, along with the sound of a blade slicing through the air. The whistle it made could drive you just as crazy as listening to the cackling.

Danny wasn’t sure why the man was laughing. Nothing around him was particularly funny. Blood spatters covered the cracked asphalt at Danny’s feet. Blood dripped off of his body, none of it his own.

Danny’s fingers twirled, repositioning the scythe he held, to rest on his shoulder. He surveyed the scene before him, a frown tugging down his lips.

People were standing along the streets, phones up, mouths hanging open. All of them were staring.

I didn’t think people could really see reapers. Danny mused, cackling cutting off as he studied those studying him.

It had been a few hundred years since everyone he knew had died peacefully of old age. Danny, having lived a fulfilled life, entered the Ghost Zone, prepared to be the new King, when Clockwork had merely smirked at him, eyes fond.

“What do you mean I have to serve as a reaper of souls first?”

Clockwork had been very insistent this was the way of things, but Danny was half-convinced he was making it up as he went.

Whatever gets the best timeline, I suppose. Danny looked out at the gathered crowd, then down at the twisted form below him.

“Jack Oswald White, you have been judged of sending those before their time, to the Realms Eternal. You have been found guilty of your crimes. With this slash, I, High King Phantom, Reaper of Souls, sentence you to the Nightmare Realm to be tormented until the end of Time.” Raising the scythe, Danny prepared to send the soul where it belonged.

“Wait!” A man stumbled forward through the crowd. A few people screamed as he broke through the ring, turning and running. The man was built, but what caught Danny’s eye, was the tuft of white hair on his forehead, and the feeling of death that hung around him. The domino mask was also eye-catching, but more background noise.

He stood before Danny and the condemned, drinking in the sight of the bloody man, like someone whom had been lost in the desert.

“Okay, go ahead. I just. I needed to see it.” The man puffed, domino-white eyes wide in anticipation. “Don’t worry, the other bats won’t come and ruin it. I took care of that.”

Danny cocked his head, feeling something humming in the air now that the man had settled in. The humming was bloodlust. Everyone here was eager to see this man die.

It was more than a little startling since Danny had never been seen before as the Reaper. It was more startling since most people who saw him screamed and ran away. What is wrong with these people? Where am I again? Gotham? Well the name seems to fit at least. Danny mused, before he nodded, and brought the scythe down.

Jason wanted to scream. Not in the “oh I’ve been hurt” or even “I’m so mad I could fill a bag with heads!” way, but the excitement, the primal feeling welling up within him didn’t want to be contained.

Oracle had reported some kind of public execution near Crime Alley. She hadn’t been able to confirm who it was for, nor who was doing it. All the cameras were bugging out in the area it was happening. Since Jason had been closest, he had managed to get there first.

In the middle of a massive crowd —and wasn’t that odd? Most people ran away from stuff like this— could just be seen an ethereal being floating above their heads. The being looked like someone about Jason’s age, but their skin glowed with an unearthly blue, and their hair, the color of starlight, moved in a way that contradicted the wind whipping everyone’s coats. The being was clad in black robes, the folds of which showed either constellations or a swirling green void that made something in Jason’s chest tighten.

And they held a massive scythe.

As Jason got closer, he heard the manic laughing, and froze.

The Joker.

Pushing through the crowd, heart hammering, Jason knew he had to— he had to do what? Save the Joker?

His earpiece made a high-pitched squeal as he broke through the crowd and saw the Joker’s body on the ground, scythe poised to finish the job.

The shriek that filled the air as the soul was sent to the Nightmare Realm, something inside Jason seemed to crack. The Reaper, High King Phantom as he had called himself, looked at Jason, and the crack felt like it wasn’t there.

I need to talk to him.

Ghost in the League

So I just read AGIT and yes all the lore drop is absolutely beautiful I took so many notes, but.

Look at this pair of outfit Danny has when they glitch through time:

Now look at red hooded ninja Jason and ninja/warrior Danny:

Do anyone see my vision??

PS.: they both have similar weapons. Some kind of east asian style straight sword/dao:

PPS: Danny didn't get to actually fight in the that outfit which is a bummer, and Jason's sword may or may not have turned into a katana somewhere between scenes.

Did some exercises and drew some cartoons I used to watch as a kid.

Ok so you know how there are a bunch of ‘summoning Ghost King’ AUs? And how in both the DC universe and the DP universe (from what I’m aware of) the wall separating the spirit realm and the living realm is weakened during Halloween?

What if a group (cultists, justice league, teen titans, anyone) summon the Ghost King (otherwise known as the Balancer Of Two Worlds) and Danny shows up in his Halloween costume. More specifically, he gets summoned while dressed up as the Grim Reaper.

And thus, because Danny is awkward as all hell sometimes and just says shit, the summoners end up thinking Danny is the actual Grim Reaper.

Chaos ensues

With all the DPxDC crossovers here I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone take a stab at giving Danny the Absolute treatment. That is, reimagining his story with one crucial element removed.

My pitch: Danny without the ghost zone.

In this universe, there is no separate dimension that only ghosts inhabit. They're all in our world but can't be seen by people most of the time.

Jack and Maddie still built the portal, believing in a ghost zone, but all it did was collect ambient ghost energy and release it onto Danny. After that it just went inert.

Not only is this a big change in how the DP universe works but it would give another challenge to Danny. He can't simply catch ghosts and release them into the Ghost Zone. Instead he's left with three options.

Help resolve the ghost's issues, letting them find peace and/or move on.

Destroy them.

Trap them in the thermos and leave them there until 1 or 2 are possible.

Being forced to keep ghosts imprisoned indefinitely or flat-out destroy them would take its toll on Danny, and depending on what his support system is like in this universe, could make things even worse for him.

(Irt support personally I like some variation of this.)

Told my sister about my Grim Reaper Danny lore and she was like "WHY?! JUST WHY?! Give the kid a BREAK!" and I'm just resisting the urge to laugh maniacally.

By the way, Sims 4 has a new pack that lets you work as a Grim Reaper. I will enjoy properly putting the boy to work.

Some Halloween drawings I’ve neglected to post until now.

This year is the 10th Anniversary of our humble little webcomic. The actual date it fell on, I didn't really do anything special. Burnout is quite a nasty beast, and with all the other stuff that happened in this massively hectic and stressful year, I didn't think I was going to get much done at all.

Then, my brother and my sister stepped in -- my brother especially. He's about ten years younger than I am and has an amazing work ethic. He'd never drawn anything before working on my comic, but once he started, he finished scores of pages. He did an incredible job and I'm so proud of him. My sister is one of the best artists I know personally, and she also did some great work too -- big round of applause for both of them!

But like I said, I didn't really get to do anything special for the anniversary -- until now. Here's just about every single character who ever appeared in the comic… ever. Seriously, my brother put this together over the course of two days and got everybody, and even added in a few extras!
