When grief comes to us suddenly and unexpectedly it can take the ground from under our feet? Whether it be a parent, friend or child When someone we love ends their life, it can feel like nothing makes sense anymore. How is it they couldn’t see all the love, life and promise in, and surrounding them? How could they leave us? What did we do wrong? What should we have done? When you lose your child, you lose the future you were helping them work towards. They were the future which would continue far beyond ours. Death comes to us all, but generally we expect to die before our children Grief can turn everything on its head, so it’s no wonder the future can appear so scary Beliefs we held before, can be turned on their heads. My dad passed away unexpectedly in September 2021. Without going into detail, we weren't close for the last 8 years due to his own actions and I struggled to show him I still loved him.

I'll never get over the guilt I feel. He wasn't a well man - Parkinson's Disease is an awful curse - but his death was unrelated to that and didn't give me any chance to say how I felt. It's funny, the week before his passing I'd finally got to a point where I wanted to talk to a professional so I could finally mend the bridge between us.

My aunt, his sister, bought me a photo frame with a picture of him in it... And I can't stand looking at it. When his wife uploads a picture of him, I scroll last quickly. I'm just not ready to see him again, which is crazy because I'd do anything for him to knock on my door again.

I've never felt so lost before. Seeing his pictures reminds me he's not here anymore and I get irrationally irritated when other people upload photos.

Does anyone else feel this?

Mom would write a note each 1st day of school & put it in my lunch box, which would also be the only day she made me lunch. Can’t believe I still have the one from #senioryear 2008. Sometimes when you can’t sleep you clean & you find memories at just the right moment, say an anniversary that makes you miss you sad. I found, in order: 1. Mom saved a piece of her work shirt with the quote from the movie she knew I loved, 2. Ticket from when mom took me to see HP3 straight from picking me up from my Europe trip bc I was behind & she needed me to see it so we could talk, 3. The Ren Fair ticket from when mom took me for my 21st & the ring she bought me that I haven’t taken off since, 4. Ticket from when mom took me to see the Lion King Musical a 2nd time right after grandma died bc she knew we needed it, and 5.
