Grey Warden Aenor Mahariel, Hero of Ferelden, perished after slaying the Archdemon Urthemiel and ending the Fifth Blught.

I had SO MUCH fun making this cosplay! This has been a dream of mine for a decade or so and to finally be able to build everything and wear it... It still feels surreal!

It's been nearly a decade since I first played Awakening, and it's been nearly a decade since I first decided I wanted to make the Warden mage armour, specifically for Anders.

I bought 600 foam scales for the project four years ago, and finally got around to working on this in the past week. I'm modifying the design juuuuust a bit, so that I can potentially wear this as Velanna as well, since the Origins/Awakening Warden mage armour is one of the very few sets that don't have insane differences depending on the character's gender.

So far I've pressed the ridges on each scale individually, and spent about five? six? a thousand? hours attaching them on fabric. I've also done a whole lot of pattern-drafting and other such boring preparations, but those aren't very visually interesting.

I have no deadline, yet again, which means I'll either finish the entire costume in a month, or in 2035. We'll see!

I did it! I got the Grey Warden mage armor cosplay done for RopeCon and kept the event safe from darkspawn! I got it finished just in time. It took over 7 hours to attach all the pyramid studs but I got them!!

The boots and the gloves took a time on their own as the sewing machine hated me and the fake leather fabric and I had never done anything like that. But overall? I felt like a hero (of Ferelden) the whole weekend! First ever cosplay and I'm so ready to make more!

I’m currently replaying all of the dragon age games right and honestly the fact that Anders took out his slutty little hoop earring is a tragedy I will never get over it.

My excitement for da4 is astronomical. I just finished Origins romancing the sweet sweet boy <3 which I hadn’t done in a while (I’m a Zevran girly to the end) and had them both live? It’s been a minute since I’ve done the weird god baby thing with Morrigan and honestlyyyyy what a world.

Anyway this drawing took me 8 hours and frankly I just don’t think it’s ever going to get finished and I’m decently happy with it right now — so therefore I must post so I can delete it from my procreate (ง •̀_•́)ง
