Recently I went back to reread a few chapters of homesick, and reread the scene where Rayne see's a person in her dream. This is confirmed to be Gressil now. And the idea of that scene rings quite differently to me now. So I had to draw it from a perspective of non dream visuals.

This scene honestly has a much more sad tone to me now. Gressil is literally desperate as he probably has ever been. He has been in and out of a jail cell for over 2 months now, partial amnesia, unsure why he is alive, being experimented on, stuck alone 90% of the time in a dark ass cell.

The desperation he has for Rayne to save him at that initial scene isn't even just him being delusional like he is more so now about Rayne, seeing her as his 'god'. No that initial interaction? That's pure and utter sad, out of chances, clawing for hope desperation. Begging. Not half assed even, he is actively asking for help.

For a character like Gressil to ask for help, to beg for freedom. It's... you know it's gotta be bad for him. And fuck it emotionally carves at me a little bit.
