Omg omg ok so regulus was sent to pre konoha bc of kreacher's funky house elf majic and his undying loyalty was trying to save him, ended up sending him to an entirely new world.

He's in his same body (noble features, long black curly hair, and big grey eyes that everyone is fascinated by)

He becomes infamous very fast bc his small repertoire of healing potions and magic that came from surviving his childhood is a godsend to these people who have nothing but alcohol and prayers to stop pain and infection.

Seeing someone who acts like a civillan noble using magic (jutsu) to help people is very different than the norm.

Eventually after batting away ninja clans left and right he gets kidnapped by the Uchiha on the basis that they are related bc (dark, regal kind of beauty, sad backstory, pretty eyes, sibling complex, and babygirl he's obviously an Uchiha)

Madara: he has to be one of ours so back off!

Hashirama: explain your logic?

Madara: dark hair, angsty, extremely pretty, powerful, Loud When Angry, and he can summon fire!

Hashirama: …

Tobirama: they’re not wrong anija

Izuna: wait you think we’re pretty?

Climbing up the walls because I was reviewing the dark knight quests for the Madara thing eating my brain and Sidurgu one-shotted me out of nowhere re: the flame in the abyss:

I haven't gotten far on my 'rereading Naruto' quest so I was trying to refresh on the Will of Fire/Curse of Hatred thing via wiki and I keep thinking man, if I manage to bang my thoughts into working order then certain aspects of dark knight would dovetail Really Well actually because it all comes down to love and being deep in your feelings and what they choose to focus on, haha. The flame in the abyss is love and Uchiha without their emotional support person or thing risk going off the rails, etc. gonna put a cut here where I start rambling aloud

As an aside, I think I decided on how Madara's Esteem/darkside/???, like, exists in a tangible way and I think it could be interesting to have other people interact with them

also trying to decide how aware his Esteem might be of Zetsu because I think it'd be a little funny (an actual piece of Madara versus the thing that would eventually fake being part of him, though I'm thinking that I might try to set this fic in the time before he dies the first time so Zetsu doesn't get to try to pull that trick on him in the same way as canon)

And what does Zetsu make of Esteem...gotta think on it...

I'm still in "throw ideas into the pile and see what shakes out" phase and I think it would be kind of funny for people to notice the strange youth that is just kind of around, but for various reasons they look past it until suddenly it pings in their heads that no, hold up, this kid is Weird, and also somehow familiar? (Due to being a piece of Madara that's walking around, but also separate in the way Esteem and WOL are the same but also separate.)

This is me going "if I can manage it I really Really want the Senju bros to interact with Esteem, this weird kid who I'm thinking looks like a mix of Hashirama, Izuna, and Madara"

(I think part of them not catching it sooner is dark knight weirdness but I'm like, I wonder if incidentally, people overlooking Esteem is that their perception of Madara is one way and his perception of himself is another way? Not in a 'woe is me no one understands' way but rather if they expected a chunk of Madara's inner darkness running around they would have expected...something else aside from what they get)

(Madara is like "this kid is weirdly easy to talk to even tho he's annoying, what the hell" and the reason for that is that he's essentially talking to himself, though it takes him a bit to put that together)

And part of the reason why the kid is so different from 14 canon DRK is partly that the WOL, who is the most recent DRK inscribed on the crystal, is quite different from Fray Myste, and partly because what Madara wants and what he needs to hear as judged by Esteem is different

(the actual writer reason is that while drk doesn't shy away from vengeance and retribution and blood, Madara seems like he's susceptible to taking things to heart re: Fray and Myste of canon, and then making himself worse for it HAHA, my goal is to see if Esteem picking at him can steer things away from...all of canon)

And then the practical reason for why a sensor wouldn't recognize a piece of Madara immediately is that when the WOL passed the soul crystal to Madara and forcibly awoke his darkside, they also put all their remaining aether into the soul crystal to give the newborn Esteem enough power to manifest without them needing to borrow a body. (Esteem has both the entire soul crystal and the WOL's aether, and also a bit of Madara, so I'm handwaving that it's enough.) So for most of the time, Esteem's signature is almost entirely a stranger's, with a hint of Uchiha mixed in

(WOL was already dying when they met and reeling from Echo visions of all of Madara's mess and was like fuck it, I won't live long enough to see this through but maybe he can do it himself if he's not so alone in his head with The Thing? And took a leap of faith that having a darkside wouldn't make things worse, anyway)

I'm getting attached to the WOL I made for this even though his job is to die in the beginning so I really might make something from his point of view too HAHA

This gremlin? ohohoho. Alright here we go.

For him strength is quite the turn on. He sees you kicking someones ass or taking someone down and that's the moment he's down bad. Madara is attracted to you immediately.

Bonus points if you can banter with him too THAT really gets him hooked. Strong AND can hold your own against him with your quick wit?

Be still his beating heart. Probably says that out loud.

Chases you from the moment he sees you if it's village timeline. If it's pre village he's internally suffering over the "enemy" he's longing for into the late evenings.

You might be on opposing sides but his nights are filled with your interactions.

He's tossing and turning constantly.

Those interactions run through his head and he's tormented by the fact you'll never be his but still he longs for you. He craves you. He has to have you~

The interactions the two of you have are heated.

Fights where the two of you battle for dominance, cutting each other with honeyed words in a cloud of lust.

It was hard to tell if he was fighting you or flirting with you. Injuries were had but none dyer or ever resulting in serious consequences.

Then came the day you forced him onto his back, weapon kicked away and arms pined beside his head. Both of you panting. The tension palpable.

The way you to stared at each other, pupils dilated—it couldn't be seen as disdain or hate but something else.

That's when the two of you kissed.

You weren't really sure who leant in first. The two of you met in the middle. Both of you wanting this from the beginning.

Your lips sweet on his. He couldn't help but wanting more as he pushed, pushed, pushed further into the—oh his hands were in your hair now—when did your hands release him?

The two of you together are a couple of insatiable gremlins. He's just as affectionate although he does attempt to keep it in check in public.

The second his jealousy is kicked into gear though or his possessiveness kicks in so does his physical affection.

If you are in anyway the same it only spurs him on too.

You kiss him in public? He's smirking like a show for the around onlookers after.

It's to say 'Yeah this is my s/o.'

Always pushing into your touch the second you're reaching for him.

Take his chin in your hand and pull his face (tug that bitch) toward you. Make him wait (he's not patient but make him be it's fun) and gently brush you lips against his to keep him wanting.

It's a good way to make him melt and rile him up.

There's also the gentle moments. The absent minded touches. The two of you always seem to have a hand on each other. Resting on a thigh, the small of the back, head resting on a shoulder.

Physical affection in private can be a little more playful. Just bite his shoulder and he'll not even think twice about it. 'May I help you?' or 'And what do I owe this pleasure?' Yes, biting his shoulder amuses him, ergo pleasure lmao.

Kind of gets an ego boost seeing all the different sides of you.

TOBIRAMA SENJU

Honestly? Tobirama NEEDS someone who can kick his ass. Whether that be verbally or physically it doesn't matter as long as you call him out on his shit.

The fact you are on the same physical level as him as a shinobi is just a bonus (and he won't admit it in a hundred years but he's turned on~)

You've got to play it smart with the affection and not come on too fast too soon. Honestly, in general with all things with Tobirama you can't come on too fast.

He's like a gentle current, flowing steadily along the stream until suddenly he's a powerful waterfall crashing down (yeah that's him falling for you–steadily then all at once)

At first the affection is going to be a point of discomfort for him.

One, because he's not used to it and two, he's not sure why he keeps thinking about it. The feel of your touch, wondering about the meaning behind it.

It makes him so frustrated because you've become a distraction and somewhat a fixation for him–pulling him from important priorities.

it's not long before he pushes that logic aside though.

He starts longing for more of your touch, expecting it and seeking it out. More and more. It's all he can think about.

Those small touches of affection are things that get him through the day and the warmth he begins to crave.

He tolerates them now.

Tobirama runs cold and by nature seeks out warmth. Finds his hands soothed when yours envelop his. The same when your hand finds his cheek. It takes everything not to press into it. Sometimes he lets himself (just a little) and mostly when he's exhausted.

Craves physical affection.

Touch starved.

Will almost never seek out your touch so you intiating physical affection is the perfect balance.

Just kind of leans into your hold whenever you reach out. Like a magnet to your warmth. Whole body presses against you when he's exhausted, that's your cue to pull him close and gently stroke your fingertips up and down his back.

Put each hand on his cheeks and stroke them. When he relaxes thats the time to catch him off guard (not really he's always on guard but he's more relaxed) and pull him in and kiss him. Long drawn out kisses that leave him longing.

These moment give him a little more energy. They allow you to see those rare small smiles.

Tobirama also really values your opinion on things regarding shinobi life and village life in general.

Will ask your input on things and involve you on village matters (sometimes just to spend more time with you) other times simply because its important to him.

Post policy discussion make outs at home once you come to a conclusion of how to strengthen the village. Holding him tight and kissing him hard.

Tobirama is very into you in these moments.

It may take a little time for Tobirama to adjust to the affection but it is something he grows to not only love but take comfort in. He appreciates your strength and affection in equal parts.

You have A:TLA and LoZ linked into the Naruto verse.

All it needs is that our Foxy demon is Yoko Kurama.

Maybe he was the OG Gremlin, the Sophisticated Sassy Gremlin… but then he was collateral in Hashirama and Madara’s war against each other and sealed in Moto, and foxes are not meant to be alone, and the isolation drive him mad, so he fought against being resealed in Kushina… he just wanted freedom… but no one would hear his screams.

Fast forward, and his current Holder is so warm to the core of his soul that he feels the warmth on his fur and now he hopes, and dreams of finally escaping.

And then he finally gets to speak to another person, and he can feel Naruto’s affection for his Kits, and for his Precious People. And the madness begins to fade as he finally gets warmth and kindness and he is soothed back to that sophisticated gremlin that he is.

And thus why Naruto is good at growing plants, and after Kurama regains his sanity, his plant growing skills are almost parallel to the Mokoton.

And why he is all in for the Kits trolling Uchiha, because a part of him will always blame Uchiha Madara for his sealing.

OH god yes that would be a fantastic connection to make. Also can I just say that a Naruto with THE Yoko Kurama as a formative influence? Terrifying.

From time to time people mention ideas for how that could be, either Sakura getting more into the Senju side (with mokuton or as Tsunade's legacy) and so SasuSaku could symbolize that peace, or just making things clearer with Naruto's chakra so that it made more sense idk NOW Sasuke doing it alone >:) by himself, being the best version of and for Hashirama's dream of the village and clearing the Uchiha name along the way! I am strangely obsessed with the whole Regulus and Izuna and Tobirama chaos. I love how all of them are gremlins to some extent. I love how all of ‘em are simultaneously exacerbating each other’s chaos and yet sometimes someone has to pretend to be the stern one and stop the shenanigans. Adore how Izuna thinks of them as a social circle. Absolutely want Tobirama to drag them back/join in on the adventures back in wizard world. May chaos and confusion reign!

The three of them meeting and bonding is the ultimate nightmare of Madara and Hashirama both. They feed off each other and the one brain cell they share is tossed between them like a hot potato.

(You'd think it was Tobirama's more often but that's a blatant falsehood. Tobirama rarely holds it because half the shit he invents and develops wouldn't exist if he did).

If Izuna and Regulus jetted back to the wizarding world accidentally, Tobirama would absolutely rip the space-time continuum apart with his bare hands and yoink them back. How dare his two idiots get lost in the infinite worlds? Honestly. They'd both up and die without him.

Well, first my eye was drawn to the brightest part of the drawing. Promptly in the middle, big, foreshortening technique used on Minato's arm leading you to his face secondly where the colors gradually get darker and more saturated. As are the colors surrounding the NinJutsu to make it stand out more. Every line on this drawing illustrates Kishimoto's experience, talent and hard work regarding his knowledge on composition.

Then..

Sakura is holding the same type of axe-weapon she was also holding in an illustration for Chapter 15.

Naruto has a slightly different one on Volume Cover 33 too. (I'm obsessed tbh- LOOK AT THE KURAMA-TEETH ON THE SCROLL)

As you pointed out Madara and Hashirama are on opposites of the illustration, almost as if they're battling each other! But also look at how Kurama's tails embrace them, how that enhances the movement and expression of their battle-intent + the Rasengan twirls!! 😱 AND the weaponry that both come from behind their heads at the same spot. (Omg I love Kishimoto so much.)

(Of course on these sides too!)

Naruto and Sasuke are paralleled on either side of the illustration too! (And so are Kurama and Shukaku 🤭..)

Speaking of Shukaku, Gaara is holding what looks like the "Tea Kettle" he was sealed in. The former Jinchuuriki 'Bunpuku' and the beast were inspired by a Japanese folktale 'Bunbuku Chagama' where the creature in the tale is a raccoon dog, like Shukaku.

I think that's a really nice addition. (Especially since I saw this legendary creature used as a toy by this mini-Hinata look-a-like gremlin in 'Boruto'.. what's up with that anyway..)

I think Kakashi's weapon is kind of like the Kamui Shuriken he used when they fought Kaguya?

Furthermore:

I'm glad Kakashi and Sakumo are together on this.. also, Obito's goggles have made a comeback ;-;🥹! It's funny to me that Kishimoto started to draw Naruto with goggles (a way to cover himself and hide as he did in Chapter 1)

..but then said in a later interview that it was too much work. (I tried a few panels drawing them and I totally get it...) Anyway I digress-

We can also see Shisui wielding a sword/drill that looks like it was designed with his supposed(?) Susanoo in mind. This was seen in Ninja Storm the game.

NOW I'M NOT SURE ABOUT ITACHI'S SWORD... BUT:

It loooooooooks like a masamune sword, but I'm not sure.

I'm no expert on weapons. If anyone recognizes it...

Long-ass Indra's arrow-bow.. in physical form.. legendary!!! So fine 🤌 I also love how Kurama's tail frames him in the background. Orange looks good on you Sasuke.

The way the Rasengan swirl pulls your attention on him (and the characters in general) + the Chakra/energy sparks are all placed so nicely *-*! It really communicates more movement and liveliness into the illustration.

Neji is holding what looks like Chakram/Chalikar weaponry? These are throwing knives used for.. well throwing AND close combat. At least that's what I thought at first but then I was thinking about it more and the Hyuuga's "gentle fist" is based on "Baguazhang". This is a martial art style which uses a lot of rotation style techniques. (Hence.. "eight trigram palm" is real because that's what it literally means.)

There are special Baguazhang Crescent Moon knives/Deer horn knives that look like this:

I think that's what these are, which are perfect for rotation-based combat.

In the same category, Baguazhang in practice used a double-edged sword called 'Jian'. It was known as the "gentleman of weapons" in Chinese Folklore. Early Japanese swords known as 'Ken' or 'Tsurugi' are often based on 'Jian'.

It does seem a bit unusual since most of them don't have a guard like that, but they exist as Changjian, or longsword.

What she has could be a Tsurugi though not sure.

Regardless, it seems pretty heavy for her 😁?

Naruto and Jiraiya both stand very wide, using an open, boisterous body-language that Kishimoto often uses for the both of them in many of his previous art. This over-the-top, theatrical design and visual representation is based on 'Kabuki' which is a traditional form of Japanese theatre, dramatic performance/dance. The umbrella is called a 'wagasa', often used in these plays/ceremonies.

I'm happy these two made it!:

A sword made from the tail of Sasori's puppet, Hiruko? That goes so hard!! It kinda reminds me of Renji's (character from Bleach) sword. I always thought that design was so cool, but this one also has that poison..

Not sure how those clay mask bombs work wrapped around a string, but you gotta admit, they're pretty artful! Perhaps it's like wire binding infused with Chakra.. Or what if, once he has put them on you, your head explodes or something..

Additionally:

I love how Kishimoto just added Guy (and Kurama) because he wanted to but also because having Lee and Guy together on the illustration just seems right.

Shikamaru with Asuma's Chakra blades of course~ (He uses them for his Shadows Imitation Shuriken techniques... but I read he gave them away to Mirai?)

I might be missing many things but..

The more I look at it, the more nods to earlier work I see, tbh I could go on and on. I really appreciate it.

Oh and.. no there is no shipping-intent and hints/clue's at all that's also not what this is made for.

Don't let anyone fool you. Naruto is looking up to the banner he's holding lol. It's a shame that the first thing people look for is things like that and then discard the entire thing when it is made with passion, love and hard work..

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

I mean... considering Mito doesn't really have a canon characterization, everything about her is made-up anyway, so that's kinda difficult to answer when her entire personality is a headcanon. Especially because I write her however I need her to be and that can differ widely from fic to fic.

Buuut in my heart I know this woman is extremely shameless. I headcanon the Uzumaki to be quite laid-back and open-minded in all manners, especially the sexual, and Mito brings that with her when she moves over to Konoha. She may look all poised and well-behaved but she will walk up to Madara and look him in the eye, telling him in not-so-subtle words what she and Hashirama had been up to the night before just to watch him squirm.

I know this to be true and I am more than willing to fight Kishi about it.

Along with that, I think she's a gremlin of a woman. Mito causes mischief wherever she goes just because she can and because she's bored, and no one suspects her except for those few people who know her well enough.

Also!!! Zero self-preservation instinct when it comes to seals! That woman shoved a whole-ass Bijuu inside her with an experimental seal and I refuse to believe she actually calculated the risk. Unless Kishi actually mans up and writes the scene of her sealing Kurama, I will simply continue believing that she looked at the big, mean, grumpy fox and went "I will show that fucker who's boss". In my heart, she's more of a crazy scientist than Tobirama.

20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter?

Tobirama!!! Am I biased? Yes. Do I care? No. They should be sealing besties!!! I need them to do all-nighters in Tobirama's lab and come up with seals beyond human comprehension, beyond any ethics and morals. These two would fuck around and find out and it would be terrible horrible no good for literally everyone else but they sure would have the time of their lives. I know Tobirama didn't come up with the Edo Tensei all of his own, I know Mito helped him! No one can convince me otherwise, come and fight me Kishimoto and be prepared to lose!

Kakashi:

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

Everything? He's my favorite character, literally just remembering how great of a character he is dragged me back into this hellhole of a fandom after I told myself I would never return here lol

I love his personality, his history and what made him who he is now, his quirks, his design... I think if I have to pick a favorite it's how caring he is. Kakashi acts so aloof all the time, but he cares deeply.

He claims he has no one left anymore but Gai is there, Tenzou is there, Asuma is there, the other Jounin are there - and he cares a whole damn lot for all these people for someone who claims he has no one anymore. He disobeys Tsunade's - his Hokage's!! - orders to help with the Sasuke retrieval because he cares about his team, damnit. And he shows how much he cares for his Genin over and over throughout the series. Because those who abandon their friends are worse than scum and he lives by that til the end even after the whole Obito-shitshow during the 4th war.

He's just. Such a big softie on the inside at the end of the day, despite everything, and I love that about him.

(Also, his design fucks. He's the only Naruto character who actually looks like a ninja. He's the shinobi of all shinobis Imo.)

7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?

... You should've asked the opposite, that would've been easier to answer.

Okay, I love how much Kakashi whump there is. He canonically went through so much shit in his past - and it continues getting worse!! - and the fandom looks at this man who's already on the ground and goes "Is anyone going to kick him while he's already down?" and doesn't even wait for an answer. Yes, he deserves a relaxed and happy ending!! But I greatly enjoy whump and angst and the Kakashi fandom certainly delivers.

Also, I love it when the fandom gives him Lichtenberg scars! Not only because they look cool af, but more importantly because I love it when fandom ads consequences to jutsu experimentation! Yes, show me what could go wrong when experimenting with raw lightning, no matter that it's his natural element! These shinobi should have more scars anyway, and in that regard the fandom doesn't disappoint :D

CHARACTERS: Neji Hyuga, Shisui Uchiha, Shikamaru Nara, Madara Uchiha, Tobirama Senju

NEJI HYUGA: Okay so genin Neji would not be thrilled at the prospect of babysitting. He'd also be a little cocky thinking he'd have no problem wrangling a bunch of kids. He underestimates these trouble makers however and has a woeful time dealing with their "backtalking" and "incessant questioning of authority." That's him— he's the authority. Neji sweetie they're kids. Won't lose them though with his Byakugan and kind of scares them into behaving with his demeanour.

Teen/Adult (Jonin) Neji now is a lot more mellow and less harsh. He's going to be a lot softer and understanding. Is actually less confident with the task but does a lot better. Bends down to the kids level to talk to them. Treats them the same way he does adults in the way he talks to them but his tone his gentler. Is patient with their questions. Reads to them. Teaches them life lessons.

Don't tell anyone but he gives them piggybacks.

SHISUI UCHIHA: The best damn babysitter you could ask for and he knows it too. If you tell him though he'll get all bashful about it. He's so good with kids! Talks and plays with them like he is one. Being around kids helps him reset and forget his troubles. He can't help but want to protect them and their childhoods. Because of this just wants to show them the best time.

Kind of sneaky about the games he teaches. The games teach them strategy and how to think on their feet. Real world shinobi skills to help them learn how to hide and escape if they ever need it. Shisui also picks the littler kids up and zooms them around. Piggyback rides and races. Rolling down hills. Lots of laughter and fun.

Always letting the kids win and encouraging them when he can.

SHIKAMARU NARA: Doesn't matter when this is Shikamaru's always going to think it's going to be a drag babysitting. He's going to look for the easiest way to mind these kids. Think smarter not harder is his motto. Doesn't think he'll do a terrible job nor exceed expectations. He's there to tick a box. What he doesn't expect is to be kept amused by the kids. Having back and forth banter. The kids telling him "jokes" and stories.

Ha. So maybe babysitting isn't so bad. The kind of babysitter who is like 'Alright, I'll give you some treats if you don't tell your parents.' Totally has a secret pact with the kids. Teaches them all sorts of cool things. As long as they don't have to go anywhere or do anything too annoying.

The kind of babysitter the kids think are cool.

MADARA UCHIHA: Do not let this man babysit your kids. He's a terrible influence (affectionate). I don't mean big bad Madara either I just mean regular gremlin Madara. He's going to have your kids running wild and promoting their chaos. He has a complex where he both thinks he's the best babysitter in the world and thinks he's also going to fail big time.

Okay in all seriousness though he's good for kids who have a lot of energy and need to run around. He'll match their energy and do what they need to do to get all of that out. Won't bring any negativity to the table either. Just encourages them to go go go. And is behind them the entire time. Doesn't care about the mess either. Those kids want to roll around in mud? Alright mud fight it is. It's war baby. Takes those wargames very seriously. The kids call him sir and everything lol.

He encourages chaos in order to keep that watchful eye on them. He actually does an alright job.

TOBIRAMA SENJU: Great teacher. Terrible babysitter. Terrible with teensy children. Good with school level children in a teaching environment. But he just can't babysit. He's so bad with children that aren't his own or his students. He's just so awkward. You know how people hold toddlers like they're wild creatures with their arms completely stretched out in front of them? That's him holding them.

Everything becomes lectures when he talks to them and he's so theoretical and awkward at connecting and knows it. He honestly chooses to just not babysit.

I want to point out though he is really good at teaching children when they're his students. When they're old enough to somewhat take care of themselves and he just has to teach them the rest and theres time to make a connection—he can't explain it—it's just different. Like tweens he's good with tweens. Genuinely enjoys seeing the next generations flourish he just doesn't have those babysitting skills.

Hm. This is gonna be the least spoilery I can make it.

Deidara (Unicorn/pegasus mix): Full of rage and depression. Definitely has ADHD. Sasori (Unicorn, modified himself with manticore parts): Instigator and master manipulator. He's a gremlin. Obito (Kirin/unicorn mix): Anxious. Itachi (Kirin/unicorn mix): Tired and has no idea what's going on Kisame (Seapony/earth pony mix): He's just vibin. Hidan (Unicorn/earth pony mix): The worst guy you'll ever meet. He only wishes he could create the level of chaos Sasori does. Kakuzu (Earth Pony): Still greedy and in desperate need of a break from Hidan Konan (Flutter pony/pegasus mix): Don't mistake her for the mom friend. She's done with every pony else. Nagato/Pain (Unicorn): regrets every life choice so far Madara (Kirin/unicorn mix): Forced the rest of them together and makes life a nightmare for all of them.

HashiMada Week 2023, Drabble, Day 5 - Sharingan

“But—”

“No.”

“What if you just—you know, just a moment—”

“Hashirama,” Madara said flatly, “I am not using my secret Mangekyo Sharingan technique on you so you can ‘find out what happens’ and then promptly go tell that awful gremlin you call your brother so he can try and develop a counter technique that wouldn’t work anyway.”

He paused for a moment before adding, “And what would happen is that you die, you idiot.”

“Aw!” Hashirama exclaimed and pulled at a strand of Madara’s hair with an exaggerated pout. “You do love me!”

The worst thing was that Madara did.

7 Best Dragon Ball Villains (objective)

Honorable mentions include Raditz, who is responsible for Goku dying, Piccolo Jr., who actually killed Goku, but was never really a villain imo (he just thought he was, similar to Tien), Nappa, and the Ginyu Force, especially Recoome. Majin Buu is also a fav of mine, but he's the child emperor shooting his BB gun at peasants; he isn't amazingly responsible for his actions until he becomes Super Buu, and Super Buu is... not a good character, much less a good villain.

Nothing filler is on this list btw, because they all suck, except Mystical Adventure, which just rehashes the Red Ribbon Army.

Zarbon is also not on this list, Repeat, Zarbon is NOT on this list (although look at those eyes)

Dr. Gero

I considered putting 17 and 18 on this list together, but they're even less villainous than Piccolo and Tien, and their actually evil future counterparts are decidedly different characters, with a past only referenced and feats we aren't privy to outside of the non-canonical History of Trunks.

Even if 17 and 18 had been the real villains of the Android Saga, this dude's shadow would still loom large over two huge sagas -- being directly responsible for Eighter and all the other androids. Maybe he even designed those doubledecker tanks the RR Army loved so much??

One of the things I adore about Dragon Ball is how Toriyama doesn't usually design his villains to be traditionally Cooooool. Sure, sometimes he provides, but you'll mostly get a small gremlin, short hitler, assassin in pink, fat pink bubble gum monster, short despot, another short despot, girl and boy twink, fat clown, and, in this case, an old man in baggy pants. However, unless the character is just for gags like Pilaf, he still makes these nonconventional villains just as baller as your Sephiroths, Madaras, etc., and Dr. Gero is no exception.

So what if he's an old bald man in baggy pants? He fucks. He canonically fucks even (looking at you 16). He fists yamcha. Destroys city. He murders the fuck outta that car dude and sets an ominous tone that carries over into the Cell portion of the saga.

I like him

Beerus

The only character from Super on this list and that's because Super sucks (GT is an actual abomination though, so don't expect a bait and switch Super 17). However, Battle of the Gods is a great movie, and Beerus is an even better character. He's also (usually) not an antagonist, but he's certainly a villain. I think Buu or maybe Frieza maaaaay have a bigger body count, although the only reason would be Beerus' consummate laziness.

King Piccolo

First and only villain to make a wish, murderer of Roshi (effectively), Chiaotzu, and Shenron, and responsible for the death of Krillin and Goku's first nimbus. He also figures nicely into the backstory of Roshi and the history of the Dragon Ball world.

Him sleeping with his eyes open is neat too

The only reason he's not higher on this list is due to the myriad retcons that surround him and the Namekians. For instance, Dragon Balls seem mythic at first, but they're actually less than 300 years old. If Kami is significantly stronger than him, why was he content to let King Piccolo do world genocide TWICE? Why not send Popo if he can't? (him being a Namekian and Kami's other half is a good retcon tho, it's just clunky).

I don't think Geets has the first beam struggle, but he has the best (objective), with the stakes being the fate of the world. He also has the best fight in the series (objective), with his arc killing half of Dragon Team's fighters, and his fight requiring the other half. And it's still a nail biter!

Tao Pai Pai

This fucker has so much swagger. Dude kills General Blue with his tongue, wears a pink chang pao that says 'Kill You', rides around on various shit he throws, and gets an evil nimbus in the filler. Oh yeah, and he absolutely obliterates Goku in their first fight. The only people Goku even struggled with before this was Yamcha, who beat a hungry hungry Goku, General Blue, and Jackie Chun, and none of them came close to outclassing Goku the way Tao did. He also never overstayed his welcome; every scene with him is dope af

Oh and he also did Mecha Frieza before Frieza
