I watched the video multiple times and I thought about inserting the reader into it. I might do "The Bridge" after this.

(Name), Craig, Token, and Clyde all stare in horror as a certain song starts playing. Tweek was freaking out and covering his ears while Gregory dances around him before he starts singing.

"We messed upon the stairs", Gregory glanced at all of them while smiling as he moved behind Craig. "We spoke of was and when", Craig singed. "Although I wasn't there".

"He said I was his friend". Pip, Tweek, and Gregory appeared in front them as Gregory's eyes rolled to the back as black ink hands started coming out of his mouth.

"Which came as a surprise". Craig, Token, and Clyde singed at the same time as (Name) tried to walk away before Gregory blocked their way as he opened his mouth and more black ink hands came out.

"I spoke into his eyes, I thought you died alone". (Name) backed away from Gregory as they stood next to Craig who continued to sing while staring at the demons before his eyes.

"A long, long time ago". Tweek was freaking out again as Pip was happily flying around him. Gregory gave several glances at (Name) as they gripped onto Craig's sleeve while shaking.

"Oh no, not me", the song played as Gregory glitched into different designs of himself with Tweek and Pip in the background.

"We never lost control", Gregory lifted his left hand to the side as a small blonde boy was in front of (Name) and (Name) recognized him as Thomas.

"You're face to face, with the man who sold the world". Thomas smiled nervously as he covered his mouth but he uncovered it as he puked blood everywhere while his wings, horns and tail appeared in the progress. Some of his blood got on (Name)'s face and clothes.

(Name) flinched as Craig pulled them away from Thomas.

"I laughed and stook his hand". An memory image appeared and it showed a school bus in the great canyon. "And made my way back home". Gregory was sitting next to Stan on the bus while he seems to be slightly annoyed with Stan.

"I searched for form and land". Gregory was walking behind Stan on a path while Stan was eating a banana".

"For years and years I roam". Stan finished eating his banana as he threw the peel onto Gregory's hand and Gregory was pissed at Stan for doing that.

"I gazed a gazeless stare". Gregory threw the peel onto the ground as he gave Stan an angry look and prepared to confront him.

"We walked a millions years, I must have died alone". Gregory ended up stepping onto the peel and slipped over the rails and began to start falling off the cliff which resulted in him dying.

"A long, long time ago". Gregory singed as Pip continued to fly around Tweek as he freaked out even more.

"Who knows? not me". the scene replayed with Gregory glitching from different designs with Tweek and Thomas in the background this time.

"I never lost control". (Name) could see a glimpse of Pip holding a body's hand in his own behind Gregory.

"You're face to face, with the man who sold the world". Pip threw down Jimmy's body onto the ground that had his skull showing from his face being bitten off.

Thomas began to throw up blood onto Jimmy's body.

Craig, Token, and Clyde all had scared looks on their face as they began to start running while leaving (Name) behind.

(Name) began to run to catch up with them until Gregory's black ink hands grabbed their leg and pulled them backwards.

(Name) tried to get themselves free from the black ink hands until Craig, Token, and Clyde were out of their sight.

All (Name) could see was the corpse of Jimmy Valmer lying down on the ground a few feets from them as the song began to fade out.

Wednesday Addams x GN!Reader

In which Wednesday saves the day and nearly loses her world.

Wednesday Addams thrives off of the familiar yet shackling embrace of death.

Her soul lays dormant within its grasp; her mind teeters atop the bridge that rests above its ghost-infested domain - shoelaces always untied.

She tempts it, Death, giving the embodiment vague tastes and glimpses of her very life within its grasp. Breath and bone would intertwine whilst her feet would glide the floor in the choreographed dance with death.

Never before would her mind weasel away from the rotten smell that clings desperately onto her atoms, and never would the prospect of a person burning alive come across as unappealing.

When death occurs in relation to herself, in her words she loathes it- but realistically, she adores it; as long as it doesn’t claim someone who she considers ‘hers’. And you were ‘hers’. Perhaps that’s why her blackheart races and her stomach drops when Crackstones spell ricochets off of herself and encages your body in an eruption of flames before she is given even a moment to process it. She can’t imagine what that would have been like from your perspective. 

Her eyes stare, wide, as she watches the flames lick your body.

Any other time, perhaps she would have been enjoying herself. Briefly she is reminded of her time with the Jericho statue (which she would love to recreate now), before the gut-wrenching screams and wales of the flames finally yanking you into their grasps tear through the air. 

Skin melting, and bones revealing before they too begin to turn to ash. It’s a horrifying thing to witness.

She wants nothing more than to hold you - if she was lucky that would put out the flames, but if she were a smidge luckier, it would simply take her with you.

Her wide, blinking eyes are quick to take note of Crackstones laughter transforming into an angered yell, and she notices Bianca’s panicked expression when her sword impales the dead man walking.

With sweat encapsulating her palm, Wednesday herself follows along and draws his attention herself by staking him through the heart with a wicked expression forming onto her face.

Far to many things were running through her mind for her to notice Bianca speaking to her when his body began to fade. All of her attention was on the now dimming fire she was approaching.

Wednesday should feel some form of - not that she would admit - joy.

Crackstone had been defeated, and Nevermore could be considered ‘safe’ once again, but she doesn’t think that will matter any to her if you aren’t there to enjoy it at her side.

She stumbles toward you with furrowed brows, her eyes not leaving your ash-ridden corpse. 

Falling to her knees at where you lay, her fingers twitch as they glide over you, attempting to find something - anything to grasp upon.

Her expression remains panicked, hands shaking when she realizes there isn’t anything for her to recognize. All that’s left is pieces of your charred corpse and the nauseating residue of your perfume.

Bianca herself is already in tears, but some other part of her heart breaks when she takes note of Wednesday’s own tears leaking down her pale, blood-coated skin.

“Addams-” Bianca chokes. “Wednesday.”

There is no response. She’s unsure if she can’t here her, or is choosing not too.

“Wednesday, can you hear me?”

Bianca knows to try and stay calm. One of them has too.

Her blue eyes flicker toward your being, widening momentarily. Faint movement comes from the ashes, and Bianca is quick to remove her palm from Wednesday’s shoulder, kneeling to move the ashes aside.

An unfamiliar rage fills Wednesday, but before she can speak, a bright golden glow is pulled from the ashes, forcing Wednesday to cover her eyes and lean back.

Heat surrounds her, and slowly, almost tentatively, she lowers her hands and glances around, only to look back at you.

Where your corpse once lay is a bird of fire - a phoenix, and it’s staring at her with those familiar eyes.

No words can escape Wednesday as she watches a tear fall from the creature before its body begins to glow, transforming into a smoke-based mist that begins to surround your ashes.

Weaving in and out of the destroyed body, the golden glow begins to piece you back together.

In some unexplainable way - some completely unfathomable way, you are being reformed. Your nickname of “Frankenstein” fits far more now that you, well, have died, rather than being a monstrous creation of your parents. (Perhaps that is a story she will have to ask about once more.)

Wednesday doesn’t blink until your body looks as it once was, well, despite the strong scent of blood and burnt flesh.

There’s a sense of fear in her when she does blink. What if you disappear? What if you aren’t actually there when she opens her eyes and she has to inform Enid of your traumatizing passing? What if she has to tell her mother and father a tale of of the love she had, and lost?

She is lucky, this is something she is now confident in, because when her eyes open once more, you’re still there, but now your eyes are wide, glowing an inhuman gold and locked onto nothing but Wednesday herself.

Wednesday Addams nearly feels pure terror when your confusion turns into a soft, yet playful grin. “Are you alright, Addams? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”

She should have hit you, perhaps gutted you alive, but she couldn’t.

“Amore Mio,” she mutters, taking your hand into her own and gently placing her lips upon your knuckles. “You are terrifying.”

Your eyes soften, placing your palm onto her cheek to gain her attention.

“But you like terrifying, yes?”

“Yes. I adore terrifying.”

I mention in passing that I am in fact writing a novel, but I try to avoid saying too much to prevent spoilers buuuuut I think I can keep it vague enough while still rambling <3

The novel (technically a novella) is called 'The Shadow Walker' and here's a draft of a blurb:

With no friends, an absent mom, an abusive dad, and a shadow that inexplicably went missing; Nicholas Walker is convinced his life couldn’t possibly get any worse. But everything changes when he meets something (or someone) who may or may not want him dead.

ANYWAY THIS IS MY BOY NICHOLAS

He's 12 years old and a selective mute and my scrungliest little blorbo who experiences the horrors™. He doesn't have any friends, is neglected by his parents, and all in all has a bad time before the book starts :(

The only source of healthy food in the house (he borrows money from his dad and goes to the store alone) but is severely malnourished from eating nothing more than reheated takeout his dad left in the fridge. Nick doesn't talk verbally unless it's to his dad (out of necessity) and otherwise converses in ASL (which I'm learning for this book <3). Loves pretty buildings and stargazing, has a dream of visiting things like Notre Dame and the colloseum some day and is fascinated by architecture. I just realised that this kid would adore Minecraft but anyway after things get better for him he's given Lego models of like the eiffel tower and he loves them :)

Gonna stop before I spend the entire post talking about my boy and move onto

You know that thing that's like, "Not a bad person, just a bad parent"? Yeah. That's her. She ran away from her abusive boyfriend and left Nick behind out of fear, since she didn't know if she could survive by herself, much less with a child in tow. She ends up leaving with her best friend and they travel around the world a lot for their job. They're a musician who plays back up for bands in different places and Rachel ends up learning to play some stuff too after watching them for so long. The two end up dating at some point and they've been together ever since. Rachel still sends Nicholas a postcard every time she travels to a new place, but she doesn't have the courage to actually see him in person yet. Also fun fact. She's descended from a woman who was killed for being a 'witch' during the salem trials. This is relevant to the story :3

This is Gregory Walker. I hate him. bye.

Not but fr, he's a terrible father. Works at a convenience store and his co-workers fear him. Lives off of take-out and instant ramen, never checks on his son. Spends all his money gambling and buying alchohol. Literally would not notice if he missed an entire month of his life (*cough* foreshadowing *cough*)

ANYWAY ONTO TWO OF MY FAVOURITES

LEXI AND CHELSEAAA

Lexi is a single mom who grew up kinda spoiled and is still figuring out how to raise a kid. Her parents are kinda helpful about it but also she doesn't want to raise Chelsea how she was raised so hgjhrj. Chelsea was orignally planned to be autistic since this entire book is a transparent cover for neurodivergent rep but the version of her in my head is so very ADHD instead. They only show up near the end of the book so I'm still experimenting with them a bit but Lexi is a huge book worm and Chelsea loves unicorns, like, I mean in the 'mythology is cool way' not the 'stereotypical girl behaviour' way. She does love pink things and sparkles though

THERE IS ANOTHER CHARACTER BUT THEY'RE A SPOILERRRR BUT I WILL JUST SAY THEY ARE NOT HUMAN AND ALSO WHAT THE TITLE OF THE BOOK IS TALKING ABOUT

RUIN DLC SPOILERS! and Freddy simpery

It was good, I mean god, they really knocked it out of the park but I am honestly at a complete loss for words. The ending isn’t really sitting with me well, I mean, they will have to do another game to continue with the story right? Since Roxy calls out for Cassie after the credits. 

I want to believe Gregory didn’t just kill Cassie off, I mean, how could he cause the elevator to fall in the first place? If he didn’t though, that would also mean that they literally just had his voice mimicked TWICE and I don’t know if they’d really go that direction writing wise. It just doesn’t make any sense, why help Cassie get away from the mimic only to just kill her? 

I think a lot of people aren’t taking into consideration that the headless Freddy in ruin has the word ‘prototype’ on his foot. That isn’t the real Freddy, the real Freddy is with Gregory, so that was nice to know that he wasn’t just a head. (MAYBE! Who knows, maybe Feddy was already a prototype!) 

I thought the Freddy and Bonnie stuff was meegaaa cute too! You can either take it as a relationship or a friendship, either way I’m excited for the Fronnie fanart to come! 

Now, onto the simpery. 

WHY, why couldn’t they have just given me ONE voice line from him ajodjasdnjasdjna aaaagh!!! That would have been enough for me ;o; but if Gregory seriously just straight up killed Cassie then that means we’re probably never going to see him again if there is something else that comes out. It breaks my lil ol heart... My boy, my sweet sweet bear boy. I love him so much, I wish I had more crumbs like the greedy bitch I am.

Other than that, I really enjoyed it, the puzzles were fun and easy enough for my tiny lil brain, I loved Roxy turning ‘good’, her little dialogue with Cassie before she was shut off made me tear up. The horror was a LOT better compared to SB, but for someone who does NOT handle horror games well at all, I handled this one perfectly fine. Nearing the end I wasn’t scared anymore, just excited for what was going to happen next.

This doesn’t fix SB, it never will, but it was a solid DLC that shows the true potential of Steel Wool. I’m glad I played it myself, it was the worth the experience.

This time zombies are the stars of the show and I sincerely hope that this project will work.

Of the items I have, I would highly recommend "Gregory Horror Show" and "Midnight Horror School" animations to my mutual followers. I am sure that these two cute and horror-inspired works will be of interest to you even if you are not familiar with their contents.

In Midnight Horror School, incarnations of beings forgotten by their owners and other humans study and train to "create wonders of the world" at a midnight elementary school.

The characters are mainly 26 characters in alphabetical order plus blank characters and many other attractive supporting characters (teachers　ect)

Personally, I love not only the world view, but also the interior of the school used by the students and the detailed furnishings are truly wonderful, and I wish I could have studied in such a school.

These character items were sold at convenience stores and stationery stores as an extra for Sharpie lead before the anime began.

The character on the left is Docky, a model of the human body in the science lab.

The girl on the right is Liddy - a forgotten organ sleeping in a storage room.

As I recall at the time, a mixture of characters from the Gregory Horror Show and Midnight Horror School were sold as extras, but I was unable to collect them all (they were very popular, and the cute faces sold out quickly), which left me a little disappointed.＾＾

Personally, I'd like to see this one reprinted and animated too!

Incidentally, the lead character in the Midnight Horror School is Hickey, in case you were wondering. This anime has quite a few characters who draw pictures, and they are cute for each…( *´艸｀)

Now, the Gregory Horror Show, which is being crowdfunded, is a CG animation for adults, if anything. The story begins with a soul wandering out of a stressful society and ending up in Gregory House.

At the mercy of the creepy Gregory and his habitual guests, the protagonist struggles to escape the Gregory House. The result is…oops, no spoilers!

In the game content of the PlayStation 2, it's about the main character running away from the lodgers and recovering souls. If you are interested, please search for the actual Game.

The Gregory Horror Show is a trilogy, with chapters 1 and 2 being from the perspective of the souls who wandered into Gregory House. Chapter 3 begins with a taste of Gregory's own journey on the train, and the extra side animation stars Katherine the nurse lizard.

In fact, it was a work that was also made into a manga. I recommend this one as well!

The Gregory Horror Show depicts the darkness of the mind and the darker aspects and desires that humans are prone to. It also has a nihilism and black jokes, so I would recommend it to those who like that kind of animation…！

This is pretty much just a semi coherent ramble about how much i love Cassie and might contain spoilers for Ruin so, you have been warned lol

I love love love Cassie bc in so many ways she feels so real compared to most other human characters in fnaf. You don’t really feel close to most human characters in fnaf, they act more as a set dressing for the animatronic horror to play upon. The only real exception to this is fnaf 3, but the crying child doesn’t really do anything so much as he has things happen to him

I think what makes Cassie work is that despite the scenario she’s in, she still feels like a real little girl. She comments on all the weird stuff that happens to her, she has a favorite character, she’s familiar with the pizzaplex, she’s fiercely loyal to her friend and sassy at times. She’s lonely, too, and I think part of what made the Roxy death monologue affect people is that.. a lot of us can relate to the experience of friends not showing up to your birthday! Maybe not exactly that, but that abandoned feeling. Cassie has opinions on things and doesn’t ignore all of the weirdness that happens to her, she comments on the same stuff most players would. It’s so easy to bond with her

And while I love Gregory he kind of fails in all the places Cassie succeeds. The way the story is set up in security breach makes it hard to connect with him, everything is disjointed and Gregory will suddenly know about something the player has no clue about. He could be a really neat character, and I hope they do more with him, but Security Breach gives him almost no motivation for anything he does- and that’s mainly just poor writing. It’s so easy to come up with vastly different interpretations of him bc there’s not a whole lot there

There’s more room for players to get attached to Freddy and be heartbroken when he dies compared to Roxy, but between Cassie and Gregory Cassie’s dynamic with Roxy feels a lot more natural to me even if we don’t see a whole lot of it

Anyways, that’s just my thoughts. I love Cassie so much I hope we play as her dad in Help Wanted 2 if she’s dead I’m gonna be heartbroken that is all

I JUST HAD AN IDEA FOR A MAY BIRD AU!!

(Also massive spoilers if you haven't watched over the garden wall)

Ok so the idea for the au is all(or at least most) of the characters of the may bird trilogy but in the narrative of the TV show over the garden wall

I just thought it would be nice to take one of my favorite things,take another one of my favorite things and put them together.plus it kinda fits because both of the universes have elements of ghosts,horror and a known evil lurking plus they way Wirt and Gregory got into the unknown was almost drowning and how did may get into the ever after again?that's right going into the lake.

Here's the roles I've been thinking of for this au,I haven't thought of all of them but I just did the more on the nose ones for now:

Pumpkin as Gregory(I see them as siblings anyway)

Somber kitty as Jason funderburker(the frog)

And Bo clevil as the beast

Hi! I’ve been really struggling to write this. I haven’t figured out the best way to discuss this book. I haven’t finished this book either. This is just gonna just be on the first few chapters.

Holy s**t this book contains so much more than I ever expected. I went into this with only the knowledge from the musical of the same name. I started this story before I started this blog but unlike Good Omens I still have my copy.

Prologue & Munchkinlanders

The prologue contains a few short pages. Simply about the wicked witch seeing Dorothy and her friends on the yellow brick road on their way to Oz. There’s not a whole lot here. Except Elphaba’s inner monologue about Dorothy and the shoes. She recognizes that Dorothy is just a child, curled up and cowering at the world around her. But what really catches her attention is the shoes. She has this line in this inner monologue that caught me, was her feels of deserving of the magic shoes. This feeling of sacrifice and working to deserve the shoes gives a glimpse o her motives and her character this early on. This made me really excited to continue.

This part covers most of Elphaba’s childhood in Munchkinland. However, I’m not interested in Elphaba as much as I am interested in Melena (her mother). From what we get about Melena, she comes from a noble family and a lot of privilege. She hates being a mother, even before Elphaba is born, so it’s not a strictly an “I have a green kid” thing.

This chapter really could’ve been this conversation on maternity. Melena is very obviously an unwilling mother, and does experience immense guilt for her lack of feeling to the kid. If Melena was the main character of this story maybe we would’ve gotten an interesting story of the idea of separating motherhood from being a woman. But she’s not the main character, so moving on!

(I do think it shows a lot about a story when the readers are interested in the side characters and the world outside the main plot. So the writing and world building is pretty good!)

During this part of the story, Melena’s boy toy Turtle Heart (a glass blower from the slums) moves in with her and her husband. This affair continues on in Frex’s face. Turtle Heart’s glass blowing enchants Elphaba. Turtle Heart can see things through the glass, like a magic and integral part of his culture. Elphaba sees it too. Which actually triggers her first word at the end of the chapter. Horror.

But I’m getting ahead of myself. Elphaba has so much more to her than just being green (which is kinda her entire personality trait in the musical). She has sharp ass shark-like teeth (and literally takes off a woman’s finger within like five minutes of being born), and actually hates water and refuses to bathe in it. There’s also a few comments made about her during her birth, about potentially being intersex. Her first word is “horrors” at nearly two years old.

At this point in the story, Elphaba doesn’t have a lot of agency, as you know, she is a toddler. So there’s not much to be said about her actions yet as things more or less happen to her. I don’t want to take away the enjoyment of you reading the book, so I’m not gonna give you a beat by beat of the story. I think this covers the broad strokes of what happens and the characters of the stories so far.

My Ruin Experience

I just finished my first playthrough of FNAF Security Breach: Ruin a few hours ago, and I'd like to reflect on my experience. I still have a ton that I need to go back and do, but I think I still got enough out of it to comment.

Needless to say, spoilers ahead. Continue at your own risk.

What I Liked:

The mechanics. Though short and simple, the Faz-wrench and Security Node puzzles are fun. The AR mask is also a really cool concept, and it opened the door for some unique gameplay and exploration.

The autosave between key checkpoints. Hallelujah.

The AR aesthetic. Holy crap, I love it. It's so trippy and dreamlike, and NEON. Totally '80s retro-futuristic, totally radical.

The character designs. My favorites are Ruined Freddy, the little Music Men with the rabbit ears, and MXES. Ruined Freddy is both horrific and strangely adorable despite having no head. I like how he chomps with his stomach like it's a mouth; it's a fun call-back to Nightmare Fredbear. And he has a gift box in his stomach. The implications of that give me the creeps. The rabbit Music Men are just cute. I hate them, but they're cute. And MXES? That's just an awesome design. Way more imposing than Glitchtrap (though Glitchtrap did work, just more as a psychological/lore thing than an outright threatening design).

All the crazy visual details and Easter eggs they put into AR mode. My favorites are the giant endoskeleton in the daycare theater and the huge bowling balls in Bonnie Bowl.

Roxy's dynamic with Cassie. I hope we get to see more of it in the future. It's just too precious.

Monty's backstory as told through the cardboard cutouts on the gondolas in Gator Golf. Just...adorable.

The part where Monty's swimming around in water and you need to hop on crates to dodge him. That was just cute. He was like a real gator. I have no idea how he didn't immediately short out, but still. Cute.

The horror of Cassie being confronted by the Mimic, not Gregory. I totally saw it coming, but it's still terrifying from a psychological standpoint.

What I Disliked:

The loading time. I think it was just because I have the PS4 version, but it took FOREVER to load the game both on startup and every time I died and wanted to retry. I hope the load times are optimized in the future.

The linearity. Once you leave one section, there's no going back; there isn't even a post-game where you can go back and do stuff. You're especially out of luck if you're on an all-collectibles run.

The lack of direction in some parts. I got stuck in so many places for such a long time because it was unclear where I was supposed to go/what I was supposed to do. Looking at you, catwalks and beauty salon.

MXES showing up at the absolute worst times and leading you to your death not out of personal failure, but out of misfortune. It got annoying after my 10th death in the Monty Golf catwalks.

Those dang Music Men, especially the ones in the bowling lanes. They were annoying to deal with. Doable, but annoying.

The stupid endoskeletons. I didn't like them in the base game, and I don't like them now. They really get to me. (I know. I'm a huge coward.)

All in all, I got about as much as I hoped for. I still have to get the rest of the endings, but this was some great DLC. It cements Security Breach as one of my favorite games in the series, and it gives me hope for whatever else Steel Wool has to offer.

I decided to try and just for fun draw some of the new characters from a new upcoming project in a more "classic" cubic ghs style. in general, drawing in the ghs cubic style is very funny. I also drew my headcanon Second Guest in this style, and.... some nonsense with her, which I still can't explain- But mostly I just played with the color palette.

Okay, but Ruin gives me serious RE vibes, and I mean that in a positive way!

Especially RE7, like. You are trapped and helpless in a confusing mess of a building. You put yourself into this situation, you got yourself into trouble, you walked in here by yourself. You’re helpless because you don’t have any training, you aren’t prepared for any of this, you’re stuck and you can’t escape.

I think the atmosphere is good! There’s a constant anxiety, a feeling like, at any moment, something might leap out at you. Which, that atmosphere was what made the original FNAF games so good, the anxiety that any mistake could lead to your death!

The building is frightening. It’s confusing, it’s messy, it’s the worst nightmare of a person with a fear of tetanus (coughcoughmecough), it’s dark and the light takes a moment to turn on fully. The AR segments are brightly coloured, but not bright. There’s no light, there’s only darkness and the omnipresent feeling of someone peering over your shoulder, waiting for you to fuck up.

And SPOILERS —>

The weird mascot costumes freak me the FUCK out. The way they lay there, limp as corpses. The darkness of the room, with barely any light to illuminate them. The creeping feeling of dread as I wait for them to move, to twitch, to spring to life.

Now, this is a personal fear. Of course, not everyone will be freaked out by this section, and that’s okay! Horror is subjective, as all art is, so there’s nothing wrong with finding the DLC boring. I was on edge because of the set up and the location, and I went in without spoilers so Gregory not being Gregory was a surprise to me! If you didn’t experience the same, there’s nothing wrong with that.

I think Ruin did a better job of emulating the horror of FNAF games. The terrible things happening to children, the creepy mascots (this time in costume form), the uncertainty of whether or not you can trust the only thing offering you advice, the darkness, only illuminated by a single light, that could be hiding anything. You’re not safe, you’re never safe, and there’s nowhere that you can feel safe.

I like Cassie. I like the hints of background they give her. She’s loyal to Gregory, willing to sneak into a condemned building to look for him, because he was kind to her. Nobody showed up to her birthday party. Her dad is a mechanic. She’s familiar with the Pizzaplex and has been there before. She knows the characters and she cares about the characters and she’s grossed out but still tries to fix Chica and it’s very sweet!

I like that the devs are being subtle, in the game. Is Freddy the same Freddy as the base game, or a different one? Is Gregory the one who dropped the elevator? Is Cassie alive after the elevator dropped? The fuck is up with Eclipse imagery being around? Why were Monty’s legs claws? What happened to my darlingest baby boy Bonnie? Why would someone put security nodes in wet floor bots?

The game leaves you with a lot of questions, and I think that’s good! It’s open to interpretation! That’s the way FNAF should be! It’s so much more interesting to dissect the series when we don’t have all the answers handed to us! The meaning behind the endings, the motivations of the characters, the way Roxy said “I remember your birthday because you’re number one, twice”— all of it is so good! The vagueness of things is good.

I enjoyed Ruin, but I don’t blame anyone who didn’t.
