Nathaniel: We weren't looking for you. Eudora: I believe our paths would've led us to you in any case. Nathaniel: Very strange luck. Eudora: I believe you may be acquainted with my husband. DM: They exchange a glance, Amelia sort of ushers you guys now into their kitchen area where there is in fact a kettle on the stove. This is where the window is open and there is a light breeze coming through. You see there's a ton of different papers and books sort of on the table that Nicholas begins to clear up and put away so you all can sit. Nathaniel: Can I get a glimpse of any of them? DM: Absolutely, make a--- Eudora: Can I as well? DM: Are you trying to get the identity of any particular paper or just in a general  sense? Nathaniel: Just in a general sense. Eudora: Yeah. DM: Perception then. Nathaniel: *digging for a die* Give me a die! Thank you. Eudora: *rolls* 24 for me. DM: Okay. Nathaniel: Oh, my perception's not good. Nathaniel. *rolls*  Nope. DM: Okay, what'd you roll? Nathaniel: Nat1. I am not paying attention to what's on the desk. DM: No, you are paying attention at all. Your less dead-than-expected mother and your estranged father are here so yeah, that's probably where your focus is. With a 24 Eudora, you do catch sight of some arcane books, you, oh you rolled a 24, you catch some things on devils and the Hells that he sweeps up first and then puts the arcane books on top. Eudora: Hmm. Nathaniel (OOC): Oh you did not. Hunt (OOC): *gasp* Nathaniel (OOC): Oh you did not. Hunt (OOC): Did he make a devil deal? Nathaniel (OOC): I don't... Hunt (OOC): Mans got desperate. Nathaniel (OOC): AHH!!! Tark (OOC): The man loves his wife! DM: I love that you think that it is him. -numerous exclamations- Hunt (OOC): Amelia! Moriarty (OOC): Hey hey why the fuck? Why the fuck would you say that? DM: Don't worry about it. So Tark (OOC): She would be the smarter of the two, honestly. DM: It's just that you all have always assumed that it's him doing all this shit, you know? She's got agency. Hunt (OOC): Yeah. Tark (OOC): Honestly, she would be the smarter of the two. She would figure it out. Hunt (OOC): I just thought it was Nicholas because of his love and devotion to Amelia. DM: That's so fair. Yeah, that's so fair. So the papers and books are sort of tucked away in a cupboard that is clearly supposed to be meant for glasses but it just has some books in it and they are both a little frazzled. Amelia opens an entirely different cupboard... Marigold (OOC): [in chat] Nathaniel's parents are the briarwoods DM: or drawer even and pulls out some teacups and tea things. She is also visibly trembling as she is, you can hear the clattering as she's trying to serve tea. Nathaniel: Oh. Amelia: Your husband, you said? Eudora: Yes, Jasper Greenwillow. DM: They look at one another. Nicholas: Yes, Mr. Greenwillow was here -insert # of months ago- He was asking us about land that we purchased from the Thefaren family and that was perhaps the main point of his visit. Moriarty (OOC): [in chat] i'm sorry Eudora: Eudora probably looks visibly confused by that. Moriarty (OOC): [in chat] say what Amelia: Yes, Valmoira, the Countess, she owns land out in Ambergreave. An uncle's estate and... Eudora: I see.
